1 Jehovah said to Moses:
1 E falou o SENHOR a Moisés, dizendo:
2 »Speak to Aaron and tell him: ‘When you set up the seven lamps on the lamp stand, they should illuminate the area in front of it.’«
2 Fala a Arão e dize-lhe: Quando acenderes as lâmpadas, as sete lâmpadas iluminarão diante do candelabro.
3 So Aaron set up the lamps on the lamp stand to illuminate the area in front of it, as Jehovah commanded Moses.
3 E Arão assim fez: diante do candelabro, acendeu as suas lâmpadas, como o SENHOR ordenara a Moisés.
4 This is how the lamp stand was made: The whole lamp stand, from top to bottom, was hammered out of gold. It was made exactly like the one Jehovah had shown Moses.
4 E esta obra do candelabro era de ouro batido; desde a sua base até as suas flores era batido; conforme o modelo que o SENHOR mostrara a Moisés, assim ele fizera o candelabro.
5 Jehovah said to Moses:
5 E falou o SENHOR a Moisés, dizendo:
6 »Separate the Levites from the rest of the Israelites. Make them clean.
6 Toma os levitas do meio dos filhos de Israel e purifica-os.
7 »This is what you must do to make them clean: Sprinkle them with water to take away their sins. Make them shave their whole bodies and wash their clothes. Then they will be clean.
7 E isto farás, para purificá-los: espargirás a água da purificação sobre eles, e que raspem todo o seu corpo, e que lavem suas vestes, e assim, se purificarão.
8 »They must take a young bull and the grain offering of flour mixed with olive oil that is offered with it. You must take a second young bull as an offering for sin.
8 Então, que tomem um novilho, com a sua oferta de alimentos de farinha fina amassada com azeite; e tomarás outro novilho, para a oferta pelo pecado.
9 »Bring the Levites to the front of the tent of meeting. Assemble the whole congregation of Israel.
9 E trarás os levitas diante do tabernáculo da congregação, e convocarás toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel.
10 »Then bring the Levites into Jehovah’s presence, and the Israelites will place their hands on them.
10 E trarás os levitas diante do SENHOR; e os filhos de Israel colocarão as suas mãos sobre os levitas.
11 »Aaron will present the Levites to Jehovah as an offering from the Israelites. Then they will be ready to do Jehovah’s work.
11 E Arão oferecerá os levitas diante do SENHOR, como oferta dos filhos de Israel; para que possam executar o serviço do SENHOR.
12 »The Levites will place their hands on the heads of the young bulls. Sacrifice one of them as an offering for sin and the other one as a burnt offering to Jehovah. These sacrifices will pay compensation for wrongdoing and make peace with Jehovah for the Levites.
12 E os levitas colocarão as suas mãos sobre as cabeças dos novilhos; e sacrificarás um para a oferta pelo pecado e o outro, para a oferta queimada ao SENHOR, para fazer expiação pelos levitas.
13 »Make the Levites stand in front of Aaron and his sons, and present them as an offering to Jehovah.
13 E porás os levitas diante de Arão, e diante dos seus filhos, e os oferecerás como oferta ao SENHOR.
14 »In this way you will separate the Levites from the other Israelites. The Levites will be mine.
14 E separarás os levitas do meio dos filhos de Israel; e os levitas serão meus.
15 »Once you have made them clean and presented them as an offering, the Levites may come and do their work at the tent of meeting.
15 E, depois disso, os levitas entrarão para fazerem o serviço do tabernáculo da congregação; e tu os purificarás e, os oferecerás como oferta.
16 »They will be the only Israelites given to me. I have taken them to be mine as substitutes for every firstborn male offspring of the Israelites.
16 Porque eles me são completamente dados entre os filhos de Israel, em lugar daquele que abre a madre, do primogênito de cada um dos filhos de Israel, eu os tomei para mim.
17 »When I killed all the first-born in Egypt, I consecrated as my own the oldest son of each Israelite family and the first-born of every animal.
17 Porque todos os primogênitos dos filhos de Israel são meus, tanto de homens como de animais; no dia em que eu feri todos os primogênitos na terra do Egito, eu os santifiquei para mim.
18 »I am now taking the Levites instead of all the first-born of the Israelites.
18 E tomei os levitas em lugar de todos os primogênitos entre os filhos de Israel.
19 »I assign the Levites to Aaron and his sons, as a gift from the Israelites. They are to work in the tent for the people of Israel and to protect the Israelites from the disaster that would strike them if they came too near the Holy Place.«
19 E dei os levitas como uma dádiva a Arão e a seus filhos, do meio dos filhos de Israel, para o serviço dos filhos de Israel, no tabernáculo da congregação e para fazerem expiação pelos filhos de Israel; de modo que não haverá praga entre os filhos de Israel, quando os filhos de Israel se aproximarem do santuário.
20 Moses, Aaron, and all the people of Israel dedicated the Levites, as Jehovah commanded Moses.
20 E fizeram Moisés, e Arão, e toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel, aos levitas, tudo o que o SENHOR ordenara a Moisés, a respeito dos levitas, assim fizeram os filhos de Israel a eles.
21 So the Levites purified themselves and washed their clothes. Aaron dedicated them as a special gift to Jehovah. He also performed the ritual of purification for them.
21 E os levitas se purificaram e lavaram as suas vestes, e Arão ofereceu-os como oferta perante o SENHOR, e Arão fez expiação por eles, para purificá-los.
22 The people did everything Jehovah commanded Moses concerning the Levites. Thus the Levites were qualified to work in the tent under Aaron and his sons.
22 E depois, vieram os levitas, para servirem no tabernáculo da congregação, perante Arão e perante os seus filhos; como o SENHOR ordenara a Moisés acerca dos levitas, assim lhes fizeram.
23 Jehovah said to Moses:
23 E falou o SENHOR a Moisés, dizendo:
24 »From the age of twenty-five each Levite shall perform his duties in the tent of my presence,
24 Este é o ofício dos levitas: da idade de vinte e cinco anos para cima entrarão, para fazerem o serviço do tabernáculo da congregação;
25 »They must retire from active service when they are fifty years old.
25 e a partir dos cinquenta anos de idade, sairão da milícia deste serviço e nunca mais servirão.
26 »They may assist the other Levites in their duties at the tent of meeting. But they may not do any regular work. This is how you will handle the Levites’ duties.«
26 Porém com os seus irmãos ministrarão no tabernáculo da congregação, para terem cuidado da guarda; mas não exercerão o serviço; assim farás com os levitas nas suas guardas.
