Makir|strong="H4353" was|strong="H8034" the|strong="H7126" son|strong="H1121" of|strong="H1121" Manasseh|strong="H4519". Manasseh|strong="H4519" was|strong="H8034" the|strong="H7126" son|strong="H1121" of|strong="H1121" Joseph|strong="H3130". Zelophehad|strong="H6765" had|strong="H3130" five daughters|strong="H1323". 2 These|strong="H3605" five women went|strong="H6440" to|strong="H0559" the|strong="H3605" Meeting|strong="H4150" Tent|strong="H0168" and|strong="H4872" stood|strong="H5975" before|strong="H6440" Moses|strong="H4872", Eleazar|strong="H0499" the|strong="H3605" priest|strong="H3548", the|strong="H3605" leaders|strong="H5387", and|strong="H4872" all|strong="H3605" the|strong="H3605" Israelites.

4 This|strong="H3588" means that|strong="H3588" our|strong="H5414" father’s|strong="H0001" name|strong="H8034" will|strong="H1121" not|strong="H0369" continue. It|strong="H5414" is|strong="H0369" not|strong="H0369" fair that|strong="H3588" our|strong="H5414" father’s|strong="H0001" name|strong="H8034" will|strong="H1121" not|strong="H0369" continue. 7 “The|strong="H0853" daughters|strong="H1323" of|strong="H1323" Zelophehad|strong="H6765" are|strong="H1323" right|strong="H3651". They|strong="H3651" should|strong="H0001" share|strong="H5159" the|strong="H0853" land|strong="H5159" with|strong="H1696" their|strong="H5414" father’s|strong="H0001" brothers|strong="H0251". So|strong="H3651" give|strong="H5414" them|strong="H5414" the|strong="H0853" land|strong="H5159" that|strong="H3651" you|strong="H5414" would have|strong="H0001" given|strong="H5414" to|strong="H1696" their|strong="H5414" father|strong="H0001".
8 “So|strong="H4191" tell|strong="H0559" the|strong="H0853" Israelites|strong="H3478", ‘If|strong="H3588" a|strong="H3588" man|strong="H0376" has|strong="H0369" no|strong="H0369" son|strong="H1121", when|strong="H3588" he|strong="H3588" dies|strong="H4191" everything he|strong="H3588" owns will|strong="H3478" be|strong="H4191" given to|strong="H0413" his|strong="H0376" daughter|strong="H1323".
9 If|strong="H0518" he|strong="H0518" has|strong="H0369" no|strong="H0369" daughter|strong="H1323", everything he|strong="H0518" owns will|strong="H0369" be|strong="H0369" given|strong="H5414" to|strong="H0369" his|strong="H5414" brothers|strong="H0251".

11 If|strong="H0518" his|strong="H5414" father|strong="H0001" had|strong="H3068" no|strong="H0369" brothers|strong="H0251", everything|strong="H0834" he|strong="H0834" owns will|strong="H3068" be|strong="H1961" given|strong="H5414" to|strong="H0413" the|strong="H0853" closest relative|strong="H0251" in|strong="H0413" his|strong="H5414" family|strong="H4940". This|strong="H0834" will|strong="H3068" be|strong="H1961" a|strong="H1961" law among|strong="H0413" the|strong="H0853" Israelites|strong="H3478". 12 Then|strong="H2088" the|strong="H0853" LORD|strong="H3068" said|strong="H0559" to|strong="H0413" Moses|strong="H4872", “Go|strong="H5927" up|strong="H5927" on|strong="H0413" one|strong="H2088" of|strong="H1121" mountains|strong="H2022" in|strong="H0413" the|strong="H0853" desert east of|strong="H1121" the|strong="H0853" Jordan River|strong="H0776". There|strong="H2088" you|strong="H0834" will|strong="H3068" see|strong="H7200" the|strong="H0853" land|strong="H0776" that|strong="H0834" I|strong="H0834" am|strong="H3068" giving|strong="H5414" to|strong="H0413" the|strong="H0853" Israelites|strong="H3478".
13 After|strong="H0413" you|strong="H0859" have|strong="H0834" seen|strong="H7200" this|strong="H0834" land, you|strong="H0859" will|strong="H0834" die|strong="H0622" like|strong="H0834" your|strong="H0834" brother|strong="H0251" Aaron|strong="H0175".
14 Remember when|strong="H0834" the|strong="H0834" people|strong="H0834" became|strong="H4784" angry at|strong="H5869" the|strong="H0834" water|strong="H4325" in|strong="H5869" the|strong="H0834" desert|strong="H4057" of|strong="H5869" Zin|strong="H6790". Both you|strong="H0834" and|strong="H5869" Aaron refused to|strong="H4325" obey my|strong="H0834" command|strong="H6310". 16 “LORD|strong="H3068", you|strong="H3605" are|strong="H0376" the|strong="H3605" God|strong="H0430" who|strong="H3605" knows what|strong="H5921" people|strong="H0376" are|strong="H0376" thinking. I|strong="H3068" pray that|strong="H3605" you|strong="H3605" will|strong="H3068" choose a|strong="H5921" leader for|strong="H5921" these|strong="H3605" people|strong="H0376".
17 I|strong="H0834" pray that|strong="H0834" you|strong="H0834" will|strong="H3068" choose a|strong="H1961" leader who|strong="H0834" will|strong="H3068" lead|strong="H3318" them|strong="H6440" out|strong="H3318" of|strong="H3068" this|strong="H0834" land|strong="H6440" and|strong="H0935" bring|strong="H0935" them|strong="H6440" into|strong="H0935" the|strong="H6440" new land|strong="H6440". 18 So|strong="H3947" the|strong="H0853" LORD|strong="H3068" said|strong="H0559" to|strong="H0413" Moses|strong="H4872", “Joshua|strong="H3091" son|strong="H1121" of|strong="H1121" Nun|strong="H5126" is|strong="H0834" very wise. You|strong="H0834" will|strong="H3068" place|strong="H3027" your|strong="H3068" hand|strong="H3027" on|strong="H5921" him|strong="H0413" and|strong="H1121" make|strong="H3947" him|strong="H0413" the|strong="H0853" new leader.
19 Tell|strong="H3605" him|strong="H0853" to|strong="H6440" stand|strong="H5975" before|strong="H6440" Eleazar|strong="H0499" the|strong="H3605" priest|strong="H3548" and|strong="H3548" all|strong="H3605" the|strong="H3605" people|strong="H5869". 22 Moses|strong="H4872" obeyed the|strong="H3605" LORD|strong="H3068". Moses|strong="H4872" told|strong="H6680" Joshua|strong="H3091" to|strong="H3068" stand|strong="H5975" before|strong="H6440" Eleazar|strong="H0499" the|strong="H3605" priest|strong="H3548" and|strong="H3068" all|strong="H3605" the|strong="H3605" Israelites.
23 Then|strong="H1696" Moses|strong="H4872" put|strong="H6680" his|strong="H5921" hands|strong="H3027" on|strong="H5921" him|strong="H5921" to|strong="H1696" show that|strong="H0834" he|strong="H0834" was|strong="H0834" the|strong="H0853" new leader. He|strong="H0834" did|strong="H0834" this|strong="H0834" just|strong="H0834" as|strong="H0834" the|strong="H0853" LORD|strong="H3068" told|strong="H1696" him|strong="H5921" to|strong="H1696".
