1 And the Lord spak to Moyses, and seide,
1 E falou o Senhor a Moisés, dizendo:
2 Venge thou firste the sones of Israel of Madianytis, and so thou schalt be gaderid to thi puple.
2 Vinga os filhos de Israel dos midianitas; depois, recolhido serás ao teu povo.
3 And anoon Moises seide, Arme ye men of you to batel, that moun take of Madianytis the veniaunce of the Lord.
3 Falou, pois, Moisés ao povo, dizendo: Armem-se alguns de vós para a guerra e saiam contra os midianitas, para fazerem a vingança do Senhor nos midianitas.
4 Of ech lynage be chosun a thousynde men of Israel, that schulen be sent to batel.
4 Mil de cada tribo entre todas as tribos de Israel enviareis à guerra.
5 And of ech lynage thei yauen a thousynde, that is twelue thousynde of men, redi to batel;
5 Assim, foram dados dos milhares de Israel mil de cada tribo: doze mil armados para a peleja.
6 whiche Moises sente with Fynees, the sone of Eleazar, preest. And he bitook to hem hooli vesselis, and trumpis to make sown.
6 E Moisés os mandou à guerra, de cada tribo mil, a eles e a Fineias, filho de Eleazar, o sacerdote, à guerra com os utensílios santos e com as trombetas do alarido na mão.
7 And whanne thei hadden fouyt ayens Madianytis, and hadden ouercome, thei killiden alle the malis,
7 E pelejaram contra os midianitas, como o Senhor ordenara a Moisés; e mataram todo varão.
8 and `the kyngis of hem, Euy, and Reem, and Sur, and Hur, and Rebe, fyue princes of `the folc of hem. Also thei killiden bi swerd Balaam, the sone of Beor.
8 Mataram mais, além dos que já foram mortos, os reis dos midianitas, a Evi, e a Requém, e a Zur, e a Hur, e a Reba, cinco reis dos midianitas; também a Balaão, filho de Beor, mataram à espada.
9 And thei token the wymmen of hem, and the litle children, and alle beestis, and al purtenaunce of howshold; what euer thei myyten haue, thei spuyleden;
9 Porém os filhos de Israel levaram presas as mulheres dos midianitas e as suas crianças; também levaram todos os seus animais, e todo o seu gado, e toda a sua fazenda.
10 flawme brente as wel citees, as litle townes and castels.
10 E queimaram a fogo todas as suas cidades com todas as suas habitações e todos os seus acampamentos.
11 And they token pray, and alle thingis whiche thei hadden take, as wel of men as of beestis, and thei brouyten to Moyses,
11 E tomaram todo o despojo e toda presa de homens e de animais.
12 and to Eleazar, preest, and to al the multitude of the sones of Israel. Forsothe thei baren othere `thingis perteynynge to vss, to the castels in the feldi places of Moab bisidis Jordan, ayens Jericho.
12 E trouxeram a Moisés e a Eleazar, o sacerdote, e à congregação dos filhos de Israel os cativos, e a presa, e o despojo, para o arraial, nas campinas de Moabe, que estão junto do Jordão, em Jericó.
13 Moises and Eleazar, preest, and alle the princes of the synagoge, yeden out in to the comyng of hem, with out the castels, `that is, of the tabernacle.
13 Porém Moisés e Eleazar, o sacerdote, e todos os maiorais da congregação saíram a recebê-los fora do arraial.
14 And Moises was wrooth to the princes of the oost, to tribunes, and centuriouns, that camen fro batel; and he seide, Whi reserueden ye wymmen?
14 E indignou-se Moisés grandemente contra os oficiais do exército, capitães dos milhares e capitães das centenas, que vinham do serviço daquela guerra.
15 — ausente —
15 E Moisés disse-lhes: Deixastes viver todas as mulheres?
16 whether it be not these that disseyueden the sones of Israel, at the suggestioun of Balaam, and maden you to do trespas ayens the Lord, on the synne of Phegor, wherfor also the puple was slayn?
16 Eis que estas foram as que, por conselho de Balaão, deram ocasião aos filhos de Israel de prevaricar contra o Senhor , no negócio de Peor, pelo que houve aquela praga entre a congregação do Senhor .
17 And therfor sle ye alle men, what euer thing is of male kynde, and litle children; and strangle ye the wymmen that knew men fleischli;
17 Agora, pois, matai todo varão entre as crianças; e matai toda mulher que conheceu algum homem, deitando-se com ele.
18 forsothe reserue ye to you damesels, and alle wymmen virgyns,
18 Porém todas as crianças fêmeas que não conheceram algum homem, deitando-se com ele, para vós deixai viver.
19 and dwelle ye with out the castels in seuene daies. He that sleeth a man, ether touchith a slayn man, schal be clensid in the thridde and the seuenthe dai;
19 E, vós, alojai-vos sete dias fora do arraial; qualquer que tiver matado alguma pessoa e qualquer que tiver tocado algum morto, ao terceiro dia e ao sétimo dia, vos purificareis, a vós e a vossos cativos.
20 and of al the pray, whether it is clooth, ether vessel, and ony thing maad redi in to thingis perteynynge to vss, of the skynnys and heeris of geet, and `of tre, it schal be clensid.
20 Também purificareis toda veste, e toda obra de peles, e toda obra de pelos de cabras, e todo objeto de madeira.
21 And Eleazar, preest, spak thus to the men of the oost that fouyten, This is the comaundement of the lawe, which the Lord comaundide to Moises,
21 E disse Eleazar, o sacerdote, aos homens de guerra que partiram à peleja: Este é o estatuto da lei que o Senhor ordenou a Moisés.
22 The gold, and siluer, and bras, and yrun, and tiyn, and leed, and al thing that may passe by flawme, schal be purgid bi fier;
22 Contudo, o ouro, a prata, o cobre, o ferro, o estanho e o chumbo,
23 sotheli what euer thing may not suffre fier, schal be halewid bi the watir of clensyng.
23 toda coisa que pode suportar o fogo fareis passar pelo fogo, para que fique limpa; todavia, se expiará com a água da separação; mas tudo que não pode suportar o fogo, o fareis passar pela água.
24 And ye schulen waische youre clothis in the seuenthe dai, and ye schulen be clensid; and aftirward ye schulen entre in to the castels `of the tabernacle.
24 Também lavareis as vossas vestes ao sétimo dia, para que fiqueis limpos; e, depois, entrareis no arraial.
25 And the Lord seide to Moises, Take ye the summe of tho thingis that ben takun, fro man `til to beeste,
25 Falou mais o Senhor a Moisés, dizendo:
26 thou, and Eleazar, preest, and alle the princes of the comyn puple.
26 Toma a soma da presa dos prisioneiros, de homens e de animais, tu e Eleazar, o sacerdote, e os cabeças das casas dos pais da congregação;
27 And thou schalt departe euenli the prey bytwixe hem that fouyten and yeden out to batel, and bitwixe al the multitude.
27 e divide a presa em duas metades, entre os que, hábeis na peleja, saíram à guerra, e toda a congregação.
28 And thou schalt departe a part to the Lord, of hem that fouyten, and weren in batel, `o soule of fiue hundrid, as wel of men, as of oxun, and of assis, and of scheep.
28 Então, para o Senhor tomarás o tributo dos homens de guerra que saíram a esta guerra; de cada quinhentos, uma alma, tanto dos homens como dos bois, dos jumentos e das ovelhas.
29 And thou schalt yyue `that part to Eleazar, preest, for tho ben the firste fruytis of the Lord.
29 Da sua metade o tomareis e o dareis ao sacerdote Eleazar, para a oferta alçada do Senhor .
30 Also of the myddil part of the sones of Israel, thou schalt take the fiftithe heed of men, and of oxun, and of assis, and of scheep, and of alle lyuynge beestis; and thou schalt yyue tho to the dekenes, that waken in the kepyngis of the tabernacle of the Lord.
30 Mas, da metade dos filhos de Israel, tomarás de cada cinquenta, um, tanto dos homens como dos bois, dos jumentos e das ovelhas, de todos os animais; e os darás aos levitas que têm cuidado da guarda do tabernáculo do Senhor .
31 And Moyses and Eleazar diden, as the Lord comaundide.
31 E fizeram Moisés e Eleazar, o sacerdote, como o Senhor ordenara a Moisés.
32 Forsothe the prey which the oost hadde take, was sixe hundrid fyue and seuenti thousynde of scheep,
32 Foi, pois, a presa, o restante do despojo, que tomaram os homens de guerra, seiscentas e setenta e cinco mil ovelhas;
33 of oxun two and seuenti thousynde, of assis sixti thousynde and a thousynde;
33 e setenta e dois mil bois;
34 — ausente —
34 e sessenta e um mil jumentos;
35 the soules of persones of femal kynde, that knewen not fleischli men, two and thretti thousynde.
35 e das mulheres que não conheceram homem algum deitando-se com ele, todas as almas foram trinta e duas mil.
36 And the myddil part was youun to hem that weren in the batel, of scheep thre hundrid seuene and thretti thousynde and fyue hundrid;
36 E a metade, a parte dos que saíram à guerra, foi em número de trezentas e trinta e sete mil e quinhentas ovelhas.
37 of whiche sixe hundrid fyue and seuenti scheep weren noumbrid in to the part of the Lord;
37 E das ovelhas foi o tributo para o Senhor seiscentas e setenta e cinco.
38 and of sixe and thretti thousynde oxun,
38 E foram os bois trinta e seis mil; e o seu tributo para o Senhor , setenta e dois.
39 two and seuenti oxun, and of thretti thousynde assis and fyue hundryd, oon and sixti assis;
39 E foram os jumentos trinta mil e quinhentos; e o seu tributo para o Senhor , sessenta e um.
40 of sixtene thousynde persoones of men, twei and thretti persoones bifelden in to the `part of the Lord.
40 E houve de almas humanas dezesseis mil; e o seu tributo para o Senhor , trinta e duas almas.
41 And Moises bitook the noumbre of the firste fruytis of the Lord to Eleazar, preest, as it was comaundid to hym,
41 E deu Moisés a Eleazar, o sacerdote, o tributo da oferta alçada do Senhor , como o Senhor ordenara a Moisés.
42 of the myddil part of the sones of Israel, which he departide to hem that weren in batel.
42 E da metade dos filhos de Israel, que Moisés separara da dos homens que pelejaram
43 And of the myddil part that bifelde to the tother multitude, that is, of thre hundrid seuene and thretti thousynde scheep and fyue hundrid,
43 (A metade para a congregação foi, das ovelhas, trezentas e trinta e sete mil e quinhentas;
44 and of sixe and thretti thousynde oxun,
44 e dos bois, trinta e seis mil;
45 and of thretti thousynde assis and fyue hundrid, and of sixtene thousynde wymmen,
45 e dos jumentos, trinta mil e quinhentos;
46 Moyses took the fyftithe heed,
46 e das almas humanas, dezesseis mil.),
47 and yaf to the dekenes, that wakiden in the tabernacle of the Lord, as the Lord comaundide.
47 desta metade dos filhos de Israel, Moisés tomou um de cada cinquenta, tanto de homens como de animais, e os deu aos levitas, que tinham cuidado da guarda do tabernáculo do Senhor , como o Senhor ordenara a Moisés.
48 And whanne the princes of the oost, and the tribunes and centuriouns hadden neiyed to Moises,
48 Então, chegaram-se a Moisés os capitães que estavam sobre os milhares do exército, os tribunos e os centuriões,
49 thei seiden, We thi seruauntis han teld the noumbre of fiyters, whiche we hadden vndur oure hoond, and sotheli not oon failide;
49 e disseram a Moisés: Teus servos tomaram a soma dos homens de guerra que estiveram sob a nossa mão, e nenhum falta de nós.
50 for which cause we offren `in the fre yiftis of the Lord, alle bi vs silf, that that we myyten fynde of gold in the pray, girdelis for `the myddil of wymmen, and bies of the armes, and ryngis, and ournementis of the arm nyy the hond, and bies of the neckis of wymmen, that thou preye the Lord for vs.
50 Pelo que trouxemos uma oferta ao Senhor , cada um o que achou: vasos de ouro, cadeias, manilhas, anéis, arrecadas e colares, para fazer propiciação pela nossa alma perante o Senhor .
51 And Moises and Eleazar, preest, token al the gold in dyuerse spices,
51 Assim, Moisés e Eleazar, o sacerdote, tomaram deles o ouro; sendo todos os vasos bem-trabalhados.
52 `ether kyndis, bi the weiyte of the seyntuarye, sixtene thousynde seuene hundrid and fifti siclis, of the tribunes, and centuriouns.
52 E foi todo o ouro da oferta alçada, que ofereceram ao Senhor , dezesseis mil e setecentos e cinquenta siclos, dos tribunos e dos centuriões
53 For that that ech man rauyschide in the prey, was his owne;
53 ( pois os homens de guerra, cada um tinha tomado presa para si).
54 and thei baren the gold taken in to the tabernacle of witnessyng, in to the mynde of the sones of Israel, bifor the Lord.
54 Tomaram, pois, Moisés e Eleazar, o sacerdote, o ouro dos tribunos e dos centuriões e o trouxeram à tenda da congregação por lembrança para os filhos de Israel perante o Senhor .
