2 »Take a census of the entire congregation of Israel by households. List those who are at least twenty years old and eligible for military duty.«
2 Tomai a soma de toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel, da idade de vinte anos para cima, segundo as casas de seus pais; todos os que em Israel podem sair à guerra.
3 Moses and the priest Eleazar spoke to the Israelites on the plains of Moab near the Jordan River across from Jericho. They said:
3 Falaram-lhes, pois, Moisés e Eleazar, o sacerdote, nas campinas de Moabe, junto ao Jordão na altura de Jericó, dizendo:
4 »Take a census of those at least twenty years old, as Jehovah commanded Moses.« These are the Israelites who came from Egypt:
4 Conta o povo da idade de vinte anos para cima, como o Senhor ordenara a Moisés e aos filhos de Israel, que saíram do Egito.
5 Reuben was Israel’s firstborn. The descendants of Reuben were the family of Hanoch, the family of Pallu,
5 Rúben, o primogênito de Israel; os filhos de Rúben: de Enoque, a família dos enoquitas; de Palu, a família dos paluítas;
6 the family of Hezron, and the family of Carmi.
6 De Hezrom, a família dos hezronitas; de Carmi, a família dos carmitas.
7 These were the families of Reuben. The total number of men was forty-three thousand seven hundred and thirty.

8 Eliab was the son of Pallu,
8 E os filhos de Palu, Eliabe;
9 and Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram were the sons of Eliab. It was Dathan and Abiram, men chosen by the community, who defied Moses and Aaron’s authority. They joined Korah’s followers when they defied Jehovah’s authority.
9 E os filhos de Eliabe, Nemuel, e Datã, e Abirão: estes, Datã e Abirão, foram os do conselho da congregação, que contenderam contra Moisés e contra Arão no grupo de Coré, quando rebelaram contra o Senhor;
10 The ground opened up and swallowed them along with Korah. They and their followers died when the fire consumed the two hundred and fifty men. This was a warning.
10 E a terra abriu a sua boca, e os tragou com Coré, quando morreu aquele grupo; quando o fogo consumiu duzentos e cinqüenta homens, os quais serviram de advertência.
11 The descendants of Korah did not die.
11 Mas os filhos de Coré não morreram.
12 The families descended from Simeon were the family of Nemuel, the family of Jamin, the family of Jakin,

33 Zelophehad, son of Hepher, had no sons-only daughters. Their names were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

52 Jehovah said to Moses:

53 »Use the list of names from the census to divide the land these people will possess.
53 A estes se repartirá a terra em herança, segundo o número dos nomes.
54 »Give more land to larger tribes and less land to smaller ones. Use the totals from the census in giving land to each tribe.
54 Aos muitos aumentarás a sua herança, e aos poucos diminuirás a sua herança; a cada um se dará a sua herança, segundo os que foram deles contados.
55 »The land must also be divided by drawing lots. The tribes will receive their land based on the names of their ancestors.
55 Todavia a terra se repartirá por sortes; segundo os nomes das tribos de seus pais a herdarão.
56 »Whether the tribes are large or small, the land must be divided by drawing lots.«
56 Segundo sair a sorte, se repartirá a herança deles entre as tribos de muitos e as de poucos.
57 The families descended from Levi were listed as the family of Gershon, the family of Kohath, and the family of Merari.
57 E estes são os que foram contados dos levitas, segundo as suas famílias: de Gérson, a família dos gersonitas; de Coate, a família dos coatitas; de Merari, a família dos meraritas.
58 These were the families of Levi: the Libnite family, the Hebronite family, the Mahlite family, the Mushite family, and the Korahite family. Kohath was the ancestor of Amram.
58 Estas são as famílias de Levi: a família dos libnitas, a família dos hebronitas, a família dos malitas, a família dos musitas, a família dos coreítas. E Coate gerou a Anrão.
59 The name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, a descendant of Levi, who was born in Egypt. She gave birth to Amram’s children: Aaron, Moses, and their sister Miriam.
59 E o nome da mulher de Anrão era Joquebede, filha de Levi, a qual nasceu a Levi no Egito; e de Anrão ela teve Arão, e Moisés, e Miriã, irmã deles.
60 Aaron was the father of Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
60 E a Arão nasceram Nadabe, Abiú, Eleazar, e Itamar.
61 Nadab and Abihu died because they offered unauthorized fire in Jehovah’s presence.
61 Porém Nadabe e Abiú morreram quando trouxeram fogo estranho perante o Senhor.
62 The total number of all the Levite males at least one month old was twenty-three thousand. They were not counted along with the other Israelites, because they were given no land of their own.
62 E os que deles foram contados eram vinte e três mil, todo o homem da idade de um mês para cima; porque estes não foram contados entre os filhos de Israel, porquanto não lhes foi dada herança entre os filhos de Israel.
63 Moses and the priest Eleazar added up the total number of Israelites on the plains of Moab near the Jordan River across from Jericho.
63 Estes são os que foram contados por Moisés e Eleazar, o sacerdote, que contaram os filhos de Israel nas campinas de Moabe, junto ao Jordão na direção de Jericó.
64 Not a single one of the Israelites Moses and the priest Aaron had counted in the Desert of Sinai were there.
64 E entre estes nenhum houve dos que foram contados por Moisés e Arão, o sacerdote, quando contaram aos filhos de Israel no deserto de Sinai.
65 Jehovah said: »They must all die in the desert wilderness.« The only ones left were Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.
65 Porque o Senhor dissera deles que certamente morreriam no deserto; e nenhum deles ficou senão Calebe, filho de Jefoné, e Josué, filho de Num.
