1 Then all ye Congregation lifted vp their voice, and cryed: and the people wept that night,
1 E toda a congregação ergueu sua voz, e clamou, e o povo chorou naquela noite.
2 And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron: and the whole assemblie said vnto them, Would God we had died in the land of Egypt, or in this wildernesse: would God we were dead.
2 E todos os filhos de Israel murmuraram contra Moisés e contra Arão; e toda a congregação lhes disse: Quisera Deus que tivéssemos morrido na terra do Egito, ou quisera Deus que tivéssemos morrido neste deserto.
3 Wherefore nowe hath the Lord brought vs into this lande to fall vpon the sworde? our wiues, and our children shall be a pray: were it not better for vs to returne into Egypt?
3 E por que o SENHOR nos trouxe a esta terra, para cairmos pela espada e para que nossas esposas e nossas crianças sejam uma presa? Não seria melhor voltarmos ao Egito?
4 And they said one to another, Let vs make a Captaine and returne into Egypt.
4 E eles disseram uns aos outros: Façamos um capitão e voltemos ao Egito.
5 Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assemblie of the Congregation of the children of Israel.
5 Então Moisés e Arão caíram sobre os seus rostos diante de toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel.
6 And Ioshua the sonne of Nun, and Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh two of them that searched the lande, rent their clothes,
6 E Josué, filho de Num, e Calebe, filho de Jefoné, que eram alguns dos que haviam examinado a terra, rasgaram as suas vestes.
7 And spake vnto all the assemblie of the childre of Israel, saying, The land which we walked through to search it, is a very good lande.
7 E falaram a toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel, e disseram: A terra pela qual passamos para examinar é uma terra muito boa.
8 If the Lord loue vs, he will bring vs into this land, and giue it vs, which is a land that floweth with milke and honie.
8 Se o SENHOR se agradar de nós, então nos levará a esta terra e no-la dará, uma terra que mana leite e mel.
9 But rebell not ye against the Lord, neither feare ye the people of the land: for they are but bread for vs: their shielde is departed from the, and the Lord is with vs, feare them not.
9 Somente não vos rebeleis contra o SENHOR, e não temais o povo da terra, porque eles são pão para nós; a sua defesa se retirou deles, e o SENHOR está conosco; não os temais.
10 And all the multitude saide, Stone them with stones: but the glory of the Lord appeared in the Tabernacle of the Congregation, before all the children of Israel.
10 Mas toda a congregação disse que os apedrejassem, e a glória do SENHOR apareceu no tabernáculo da congregação, diante de todos os filhos de Israel.
11 And the Lord said vnto Moses, How long will this people prouoke me, and howe long will it be, yer they beleeue me, for al the signes which I haue shewed among them?
11 E o SENHOR disse a Moisés: Até quando me provocará este povo? E até quando não crerão em mim, por todos os sinais que mostrei no meio deles?
12 I will smite them with the pestilence and destroy them, and will make thee a greater nation and mightier then they.
12 Eu os ferirei com pestilência, e os rejeitarei, e farei de ti uma nação maior e mais poderosa do que eles.
13 But Moses saide vnto the Lord, When the Egyptians shall heare it, (for thou broughtest this people by thy power from among them)
13 E Moisés disse ao SENHOR: Então os egípcios o ouvirão (porque com a tua força, tiraste este povo do meio deles);
14 Then they shall say to the inhabitants of this land, (for they haue heard that thou, Lord, art among this people, and that thou, Lord, art seene face to face, and that thy cloude standeth ouer them, and that thou goest before them by day time in a pillar of a cloude, and in a pillar of fire by night)
14 e o dirão aos moradores desta terra, porque ouviram que tu, SENHOR, estás no meio deste povo, que tu SENHOR, és visto face a face, e que a tua nuvem está sobre eles, e que vais à frente deles, de dia em uma coluna de nuvem, e à noite em uma coluna de fogo.
15 That thou wilt kill this people as one man: so the heathen which haue heard the fame of thee, shall thus say,
15 E se matares todo este povo como a um só homem, então as nações que ouviram a tua fama, falarão, dizendo:
16 Because the Lord was not able to bring this people into the lande, which he sware vnto them, therefore hath he slaine them in the wildernesse.
16 Porque o SENHOR não pode introduzir este povo na terra que lhes havia jurado; por isso, os matou no deserto.
17 And now, I beseech thee, let the power of my Lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying,
17 E agora suplico-te, que a força do meu SENHOR se engrandeça, conforme falaste, dizendo:
18 The Lord is slowe to anger, and of great mercie, and forgiuing iniquitie, and sinne, but not making the wicked innocent, and visiting the wickednes of the fathers vpon the children, in the thirde and fourth generation:
18 O SENHOR é longânimo e de grande misericórdia, que perdoa a iniquidade e a transgressão, e, de maneira nenhuma, inocenta o culpado, e visita a iniquidade dos pais sobre os filhos, até a terceira e a quarta geração.
19 Be mercifull, I beseech thee, vnto the iniquitie of this people, according to thy great mercie, and as thou hast forgiuen this people from Egypt, euen vntill nowe.
19 Perdoa, suplico-te, a iniquidade deste povo, segundo a grandeza da tua misericórdia, como também perdoaste a este povo desde a terra do Egito até agora.
20 And the Lord said, I haue forgiuen it, according to thy request.
20 E o SENHOR disse: Conforme a tua palavra, lhe perdoei.
21 Notwithstanding, as I liue, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord.
21 Mas, tão certamente como eu vivo, toda a terra se encherá da glória do SENHOR.
22 For all those men which haue seene my glory, and my miracles which I did in Egypt, and in the wildernes, and haue tempted me this ten times, and haue not obeyed my voyce,
22 Porque todos esses homens que viram a minha glória e os meus milagres, que fiz no Egito e no deserto, e me tentaram estas dez vezes, e não obedeceram à minha voz,
23 Certainely they shall not see the lande, whereof I sware vnto their fathers: neither shall any that prouoke me, see it.
23 certamente não verão a terra que jurei a seus pais, e nenhum dos que me provocaram a verá.
24 But my seruant Caleb, because he had another spirite, and hath followed me stil, euen him will I bring into the lande, whither he went, and his seede shall inherite it.
24 Mas a meu servo Calebe, porque com ele havia outro espírito, e me seguiu plenamente, a ele levarei à terra em que entrou, e a sua semente a possuirá
25 Nowe the Amalekites and the Canaanites remaine in the valley: wherefore turne backe to morowe, and get you into the wildernesse, by the way of the red Sea.
25 (Os amalequitas e os cananeus habitam no vale). Voltai amanhã, e entrai no deserto pelo caminho do mar Vermelho.
26 After, the Lord spake vnto Moses and to Aaron, saying,
26 Depois, o SENHOR falou a Moisés e a Arão, dizendo:
27 How long shall I suffer this wicked multitude to murmure against me? I haue heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmure against me.
27 Até quando tolerarei esta má congregação, que murmura contra mim? Ouvi as murmurações dos filhos de Israel, com que murmuram contra mim.
28 Tell them, As I liue (saith the Lord) I wil surely do vnto you, euen as ye haue spoken in mine eares.
28 Dirás a eles: Tão certamente como eu vivo, diz o SENHOR, como falastes aos meus ouvidos, assim farei a vós.
29 Your carkeises shall fall in this wildernes, and all you that were counted through all your nombers, from twentie yeere olde and aboue, which haue murmured against me,
29 Os vossos cadáveres cairão neste deserto, como também todos os que de vós foram contados segundo toda a vossa conta, com idade igual ou superior a vinte anos, que contra mim murmurastes;
30 Ye shall not doubtles come into the land, for the which I lifted vp mine hande, to make you dwell therein, saue Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh, and Ioshua the sonne of Nun.
30 sem dúvida, não entrareis na terra na qual jurei que vos faria habitar, salvo Calebe, filho de Jefoné, e Josué, filho de Num.
31 But your children, (which ye said shoulde be a pray) them will I bring in, and they shall knowe the lande which ye haue refused:
31 Mas os vossos pequenos, dos quais dissestes que seriam presa, a eles trarei na terra, e eles conhecerão a terra que vós desprezastes.
32 But euen your carkeises shall fall in this wildernes,
32 Porém, quanto a vós, os vossos cadáveres cairão neste deserto.
33 And your children shall wander in the wildernesse, fourtie yeeres, and shall beare your whoredomes, vntill your carkeises be wasted in the wildernesse.
33 E vossos filhos peregrinarão neste deserto quarenta anos e levarão as vossas corrupções, até que os vossos cadáveres sejam consumidos no deserto.
34 After the number of the dayes, in the which ye searched out the lande, euen fourtie dayes, euery day for a yeere, shall ye beare your iniquity, for fourtie yeeres, and ye shall feele my breach of promise.
34 Segundo o número dos dias em que examinastes esta terra, quarenta dias, cada dia correspondendo a um ano, levareis as vossas iniquidades durante quarenta anos e conhecereis o meu rompimento da promessa.
35 I the Lord haue said, Certainely I will doe so to all this wicked company, that are gathered together against me: for in this wildernesse they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.
35 Eu, o SENHOR, falei. E certamente farei isto a toda esta má congregação, que se levantou contra mim neste deserto, serão consumidos e nele falecerão.
36 And the men which Moses had sent to search the land (which, when they came againe, made all the people to murmure against him, and brought vp a slander vpon the lande)
36 E os homens que Moisés mandara examinar a terra, que voltaram e fizeram toda a congregação murmurar contra ele, infamando a terra,
37 Euen those men that did bring vp that vile slander vpon the land, shall die by a plague before the Lord.
37 aqueles homens que trouxeram más informações sobre a terra, morreram de praga diante do SENHOR.
38 But Ioshua the sonne of Nun, and Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh, of those men that went to search the land, shall liue.
38 Mas Josué, filho de Num, e Calebe, filho de Jefoné, que eram dois dos homens que foram examinar a terra, permaneceram com vida.
39 Then Moses tolde these sayings vnto all the children of Israel, and the people sorowed greatly.
39 E falou Moisés estas palavras a todos os filhos de Israel; e o povo lamentou muito.
40 And they rose vp earely in the morning, and gate them vp into the toppe of the mountaine, saying, Loe, we be readie, to goe vp to the place which the Lord hath promised: for wee haue sinned.
40 E levantaram-se pela manhã bem cedo, e subiram ao topo do monte, dizendo: Eis-nos aqui e subiremos ao lugar que o SENHOR prometeu, porque pecamos.
41 But Moses said, Wherefore transgresse yee thus the commandement of the Lord? it will not so come well to passe.
41 E Moisés disse: Por que transgredis a ordem do SENHOR? Porém não prosperará.
42 Goe not vp (for the Lord is not among you) lest ye be ouerthrowe before your enemies.
42 Não subais, porque o SENHOR não está no meio de vós, para que não sejais feridos diante dos vossos inimigos.
43 For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and ye shall fall by the sworde: for in as much as ye are turned away from the Lord, the Lord also will not be with you.
43 Porque os amalequitas e os cananeus estão ali diante de vós, e caireis pela espada; porque como vos desviastes do SENHOR, o SENHOR não estará convosco.
44 Yet they presumed obstinately to goe vp to the top of the mountaine: but the Arke of the couenant of the Lord, and Moses departed not out of the campe.
44 Contudo, ousaram subir ao topo do monte, mas a arca do pacto do SENHOR e Moisés não se afastaram do acampamento.
45 Then the Amalekites and the Canaanites, which dwelt in that mountaine, came downe and smote them, and consumed them vnto Hormah.
45 Então, desceram os amalequitas e os cananeus, que habitavam na montanha, e os feriram, derrotando-os até Horma.
