1 Therefore|strong="G1223", since|strong="G2192" it|strong="G3778" is|strong="G3588" by|strong="G1223" God|strong="G3588"’s|strong="G2192" mercy|strong="G1653" that|strong="G3588" we|strong="G2192" are|strong="G3588" engaged in|strong="G1223" this|strong="G3778" ministry|strong="G1248", we|strong="G2192" do|strong="G2192" not|strong="G3756" lose heart.
2 No|strong="G3361", we|strong="G1722" have|strong="G3956" renounced the|strong="G1722" secrecy prompted by|strong="G1722" shame, refusing to|strong="G4314" adopt crafty ways, or|strong="G3366" to|strong="G4314" tamper with|strong="G1722" God|strong="G2316"’s message|strong="G3056", and|strong="G2316" commending|strong="G4921" ourselves|strong="G1438" to|strong="G4314" everyone|strong="G3956"’s conscience|strong="G4893", in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" sight|strong="G1799" of|strong="G3056" God|strong="G2316", by|strong="G1722" our|strong="G2316" exhibition of|strong="G3056" the|strong="G1722" truth.
3 And|strong="G2532", even|strong="G2532" if|strong="G1487" the|strong="G1722" good|strong="G3588" news|strong="G2098" that|strong="G3588" we|strong="G2249" bring|strong="G2532" is|strong="G1510" veiled|strong="G2572", it|strong="G2532" is|strong="G1510" veiled|strong="G2572" only|strong="G1487" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" case|strong="G3588" of|strong="G2532" those|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3588" are|strong="G1510" on|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" path to|strong="G2532" ruin –
4 people|strong="G1510" whose|strong="G3739" minds|strong="G3540" have|strong="G1510" been|strong="G1510" blinded|strong="G5186" by|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" God|strong="G2316" of|strong="G2316" this|strong="G3778" age, unbelievers as|strong="G1519" they|strong="G3588" are|strong="G1510", so|strong="G1519" that|strong="G3739" the|strong="G1722" light|strong="G5462" from|strong="G3588" the|strong="G1722" good|strong="G3588" news|strong="G2098" of|strong="G2316" the|strong="G1722" glory|strong="G1391" of|strong="G2316" the|strong="G1722" Christ|strong="G5547", who|strong="G3739" is|strong="G1510" the|strong="G1722" incarnation of|strong="G2316" God|strong="G2316", should|strong="G2316" not|strong="G3361" shine for|strong="G1519" them|strong="G3588".

6 Indeed, the|strong="G1722" same|strong="G3739" God|strong="G2316" who|strong="G3739" said|strong="G3004" “Out|strong="G1537" of|strong="G1537" darkness|strong="G4655" light|strong="G5457" will|strong="G2316" shine|strong="G2989",” has|strong="G2316" shone|strong="G2989" in|strong="G1722" on|strong="G1722" our|strong="G2316" hearts|strong="G2588", so|strong="G4314" that|strong="G3754" we|strong="G2249" should|strong="G2316" bring|strong="G3004" out|strong="G1537" into|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" light|strong="G5457" the|strong="G1722" knowledge|strong="G1108" of|strong="G1537" the|strong="G1722" glory|strong="G1391" of|strong="G1537" God|strong="G2316", seen in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" face|strong="G4383" of|strong="G1537" Christ|strong="G5547".
7 This|strong="G3778" treasure|strong="G2344" we|strong="G2249" have|strong="G2192" in|strong="G1722" these|strong="G3778" earthen|strong="G3749" vessels|strong="G4632", so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" its|strong="G1537" all-prevailing power|strong="G1411" may|strong="G2532" be|strong="G1510" seen to|strong="G2443" come|strong="G1510" from|strong="G1537" God|strong="G2316", and|strong="G2532" not|strong="G3361" to|strong="G2443" be|strong="G1510" our|strong="G2316" own.
8 Though|strong="G1722" hard pressed on|strong="G1722" every|strong="G3956" side|strong="G3956", we|strong="G1722" are|strong="G3956" never|strong="G3756" hemmed in|strong="G1722"; though|strong="G1722" perplexed, never|strong="G3756" driven to|strong="G1722" despair|strong="G1820";
9 though pursued, never|strong="G3756" abandoned|strong="G1459"; though struck|strong="G2598" down|strong="G2598", never|strong="G3756" killed!
10 We|strong="G2249" always|strong="G3842" bear|strong="G2443" on|strong="G1722" our|strong="G2424" bodies|strong="G4983" the|strong="G1722" marks of|strong="G2532" the|strong="G1722" death that|strong="G2443" Jesus|strong="G2424" died|strong="G3588", so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" the|strong="G1722" life|strong="G2222" also|strong="G2532" of|strong="G2532" Jesus|strong="G2424" may|strong="G2532" be|strong="G2532" exhibited in|strong="G1722" our|strong="G2424" bodies|strong="G4983".
11 Indeed|strong="G2532", we|strong="G2249" who|strong="G3588" still live|strong="G2198" are|strong="G3588" continually|strong="G1223" being|strong="G2532" given|strong="G3860" over|strong="G3860" to|strong="G1519" death|strong="G2288" for|strong="G1063" Jesus|strong="G2424"’ sake|strong="G1223", so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" the|strong="G1722" life|strong="G2222" also|strong="G2532" of|strong="G1223" Jesus|strong="G2424" may|strong="G2532" be|strong="G2532" exhibited in|strong="G1722" our|strong="G2424" mortal|strong="G2349" nature.
12 And|strong="G1161" so|strong="G1161", while|strong="G1722" death|strong="G2288" is|strong="G3588" at|strong="G1722" work|strong="G1754" within|strong="G1722" us|strong="G2249", life|strong="G2222" is|strong="G3588" at|strong="G1722" work|strong="G1754" within|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5210".
13 But|strong="G1161", in|strong="G2596" the|strong="G2532" same|strong="G2532" spirit|strong="G4151" of|strong="G4151" faith|strong="G4102" as|strong="G1161" that|strong="G3588" expressed in|strong="G2596" the|strong="G2532" words|strong="G2532" – “I|strong="G1473" believed|strong="G4100", and|strong="G2532" therefore|strong="G1352" I|strong="G1473" spoke|strong="G2980",” we|strong="G2249", also|strong="G2532" believe|strong="G4100", and|strong="G2532" therefore|strong="G1352" speak|strong="G2980".
14 For|strong="G3754" we|strong="G2249" know|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754" he|strong="G2532" who|strong="G3588" raised|strong="G1453" the|strong="G2532" Lord|strong="G2962" Jesus|strong="G2424" will|strong="G2532" raise|strong="G1453" us|strong="G2249" also|strong="G2532" with|strong="G4862" him|strong="G3588", and|strong="G2532" will|strong="G2532" bring|strong="G3936" us|strong="G2249", with|strong="G4862" you|strong="G5210", into|strong="G2424" his|strong="G2532" presence.
15 For|strong="G1063" all|strong="G3956" this|strong="G3588" is|strong="G3588" for|strong="G1063" your|strong="G1223" sakes|strong="G1223", so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" the|strong="G1519" loving kindness of|strong="G1223" God|strong="G2316", spreading|strong="G4121" from|strong="G3588" heart to|strong="G1519" heart, may|strong="G2443" cause|strong="G1223" yet|strong="G1063" more|strong="G4119" hearts to|strong="G1519" overflow|strong="G4052" with|strong="G1223" thanksgiving|strong="G2169", to|strong="G1519" his|strong="G3956" glory|strong="G1391".
16 Therefore|strong="G1352", as|strong="G2532" I|strong="G1473" said|strong="G2532", we|strong="G2249" do|strong="G2532" not|strong="G3756" lose heart. No|strong="G3756", even|strong="G2532" though|strong="G1487" outwardly we|strong="G2249" are|strong="G3588" wasting away|strong="G1854", yet|strong="G2532" inwardly we|strong="G2249" are|strong="G3588" being|strong="G2532" renewed day|strong="G2250" by|strong="G2532" day|strong="G2250".
17 The|strong="G1519" light|strong="G1645" burden of|strong="G1391" our|strong="G2596" momentary|strong="G3910" trouble|strong="G2347" is|strong="G3588" preparing for|strong="G1063" us|strong="G1519" a|strong="G1519" weight of|strong="G1391" imperishable glory|strong="G1391", beyond|strong="G1519" all|strong="G2596" measure|strong="G5236".
18 We|strong="G2249", all|strong="G3361" the|strong="G1161" while|strong="G1161", gaze not|strong="G3361" on|strong="G1161" what|strong="G3588" is|strong="G3588" seen, but|strong="G1161" on|strong="G1161" what|strong="G3588" is|strong="G3588" unseen. For|strong="G1063" what|strong="G3588" is|strong="G3588" seen is|strong="G3588" transient, but|strong="G1161" what|strong="G3588" is|strong="G3588" unseen is|strong="G3588" imperishable.
