1 For|strong="G1063" we|strong="G2249" know|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754" if|strong="G1437" our|strong="G2316" tent|strong="G4636" – that|strong="G3754" earthly|strong="G1919" body which|strong="G3588" is|strong="G3588" now|strong="G1722" our|strong="G2316" home|strong="G3614" – is|strong="G3588" taken down|strong="G2647", we|strong="G2249" have|strong="G2192" a|strong="G2192" house|strong="G3614" of|strong="G1537" God|strong="G2316"’s|strong="G2192" building|strong="G3619", a|strong="G2192" home|strong="G3614" not|strong="G2192" made|strong="G2316" by|strong="G1722" hands, imperishable, in|strong="G1722" heaven|strong="G3772".
2 Even|strong="G2532" while|strong="G1722" in|strong="G1722" our|strong="G2532" present|strong="G3778" body we|strong="G2249" sigh|strong="G4727", longing|strong="G1971" to|strong="G2532" put|strong="G2532" over|strong="G1537" it|strong="G2532" our|strong="G2532" heavenly|strong="G3772" house|strong="G3613",
3 sure that|strong="G2532", when|strong="G2532" we|strong="G2532" have|strong="G2532" put|strong="G1746" it|strong="G2532" on|strong="G1746", we|strong="G2532" will|strong="G2532" never|strong="G3756" be|strong="G2532" found|strong="G2147" naked|strong="G1131".
4 For|strong="G1063" we|strong="G3739" who|strong="G3739" are|strong="G1510" in|strong="G1722" this|strong="G3588" tent|strong="G4636" sigh|strong="G4727" under|strong="G5259" our|strong="G2532" burden, unwilling|strong="G3756" to|strong="G2443" take|strong="G2532" it|strong="G2532" off|strong="G1562", yet|strong="G2532" wishing|strong="G2309" to|strong="G2443" put|strong="G2532" our|strong="G2532" heavenly body over|strong="G1909" it|strong="G2532", so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" all|strong="G2532" that|strong="G2443" is|strong="G1510" mortal|strong="G2349" may|strong="G2532" be|strong="G1510" absorbed in|strong="G1722" life|strong="G2222".
5 And|strong="G1161" he|strong="G1161" who|strong="G3588" has|strong="G2316" prepared|strong="G2716" us|strong="G1325" for|strong="G1519" this|strong="G3778" change is|strong="G3588" God|strong="G2316", who|strong="G3588" has|strong="G2316" also|strong="G1161" given|strong="G1325" us|strong="G1325" his|strong="G1519" Spirit|strong="G4151" as|strong="G1519" a|strong="G1519" pledge.
6 Therefore|strong="G3767" we|strong="G3754" are|strong="G3588" always|strong="G3842" confident|strong="G2292", knowing|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754", while|strong="G1722" our|strong="G2532" home|strong="G1736" is|strong="G3588" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" body|strong="G4983", we|strong="G3754" are|strong="G3588" absent|strong="G1553" from|strong="G2532" our|strong="G2532" home|strong="G1736" with|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" Lord|strong="G2962".
7 For|strong="G1063" we|strong="G1063" guide our|strong="G1223" lives by|strong="G1223" faith|strong="G4102", and|strong="G4102" not|strong="G3756" by|strong="G1223" what|strong="G1063" we|strong="G1063" see.
8 And|strong="G2532" in|strong="G2532" this|strong="G3588" confidence|strong="G2292" we|strong="G2532" would|strong="G2532" gladly|strong="G2106" leave our|strong="G2532" home|strong="G1736" in|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" body|strong="G4983", and|strong="G2532" make|strong="G2532" our|strong="G2532" home|strong="G1736" with|strong="G4314" the|strong="G2532" Lord|strong="G2962".
9 Therefore|strong="G1352", whether|strong="G1535" in|strong="G2532" our|strong="G2532" home|strong="G1736" or|strong="G1535" absent|strong="G1553" from|strong="G2532" our|strong="G2532" home|strong="G1736", our|strong="G2532" one|strong="G2532" ambition|strong="G5389" is|strong="G1510" to|strong="G2532" please|strong="G2101" him|strong="G2532".
10 For|strong="G1063" at|strong="G4314" the|strong="G3956" court of|strong="G1223" the|strong="G3956" Christ|strong="G5547" we|strong="G2249" must|strong="G1163" all|strong="G3956" appear|strong="G5319" in|strong="G3956" our|strong="G5547" true|strong="G3588" characters, so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" each|strong="G1538" may|strong="G2443" reap the|strong="G3956" results of|strong="G1223" the|strong="G3956" life which|strong="G3739" he|strong="G3739" has|strong="G3739" lived in|strong="G3956" the|strong="G3956" body|strong="G4983", in|strong="G3956" accordance with|strong="G4314" his|strong="G3956" actions – whether|strong="G1535" good|strong="G3956" or|strong="G1535" worthless.
11 Therefore|strong="G3767", because|strong="G1722" we|strong="G2532" know|strong="G1492" the|strong="G1722" fear|strong="G5401" inspired by|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" Lord|strong="G2962", it|strong="G2532" is|strong="G3588" true|strong="G3588" that|strong="G3588" we|strong="G2532" are|strong="G3588" trying to|strong="G2532" win|strong="G3982" people|strong="G1492" over|strong="G3982", but|strong="G1161" our|strong="G2316" motives are|strong="G3588" plain to|strong="G2532" God|strong="G2316"; and|strong="G2532" I|strong="G2532" hope|strong="G1679" that|strong="G3588" in|strong="G1722" your|strong="G2962" inmost hearts they|strong="G2532" are|strong="G3588" plain to|strong="G2532" you|strong="G5210" also|strong="G2532".
12 We|strong="G2249" are|strong="G3588" not|strong="G3756" ‘commending|strong="G4921" ourselves|strong="G1438"’ again|strong="G3825" to|strong="G4314" you|strong="G5210", but|strong="G2532" rather|strong="G3756" are|strong="G3588" giving|strong="G1325" you|strong="G5210" cause|strong="G1325" for|strong="G1063" pride|strong="G2745" in|strong="G1722" us|strong="G1325", so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" you|strong="G5210" may|strong="G2532" have|strong="G2192" an|strong="G2192" answer ready for|strong="G1063" those|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3588" pride|strong="G2745" themselves|strong="G1438" on|strong="G1722" appearances|strong="G4383" and|strong="G2532" not|strong="G3756" on|strong="G1722" character.
13 For|strong="G1063", if|strong="G1535" we|strong="G1063" were|strong="G1839" ‘beside|strong="G1839" ourselves|strong="G1839",’ it|strong="G1063" was|strong="G2316" in|strong="G2316" God|strong="G2316"’s service! If|strong="G1535" we|strong="G1063" are|strong="G5210" not in|strong="G2316" our|strong="G2316" senses|strong="G1839", it|strong="G1063" is|strong="G2316" in|strong="G2316" yours|strong="G4771"!
14 It|strong="G1063" is|strong="G3588" the|strong="G3956" love of|strong="G1520" the|strong="G3956" Christ|strong="G5547" which|strong="G3588" compels us|strong="G2249", when|strong="G2919" we|strong="G2249" reflect that|strong="G3588", as|strong="G1063" one|strong="G1520" died|strong="G3588" for|strong="G1063" all|strong="G3956", therefore|strong="G1063" all|strong="G3956" died|strong="G3588";
15 and|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3754" he|strong="G2532" died|strong="G3588" for|strong="G3754" all|strong="G3956", so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G3754" the|strong="G2532" living|strong="G2198" should|strong="G3588" no|strong="G3371" longer|strong="G3371" live|strong="G2198" for|strong="G3754" themselves|strong="G1438", but|strong="G2532" for|strong="G3754" him|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3588" died|strong="G3588" and|strong="G2532" rose|strong="G2532" for|strong="G3754" them|strong="G3588".
16 For|strong="G2532" ourselves|strong="G2249", then|strong="G2532", from|strong="G2532" this|strong="G3588" time|strong="G3568" forward, we|strong="G2249" refuse to|strong="G2532" regard anyone|strong="G3762" from|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" world’s standpoint|strong="G2596". Even|strong="G2532" if|strong="G1487" we|strong="G2249" once thought of|strong="G2532" Christ|strong="G5547" from|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" standpoint|strong="G2596" of|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" world, yet|strong="G2532" now|strong="G3568" we|strong="G2249" do|strong="G1492" so|strong="G2532" no|strong="G3762" longer|strong="G3765".
17 Therefore|strong="G5620", if|strong="G1487" anyone|strong="G5100" is|strong="G3588" in|strong="G1722" union with|strong="G1722" Christ|strong="G5547", he|strong="G3588" is|strong="G3588" a|strong="G1096" new|strong="G2537" being|strong="G1096"! His|strong="G1722" old life has|strong="G1096" passed|strong="G3588" away|strong="G3928"; a|strong="G1096" new|strong="G2537" life has|strong="G1096" begun!
18 But|strong="G1161" all|strong="G3956" this|strong="G3588" is|strong="G3588" the|strong="G2532" work|strong="G3956" of|strong="G1537" God|strong="G2316", who|strong="G3588" reconciled|strong="G2644" us|strong="G1325" to|strong="G2532" himself|strong="G1438" through|strong="G1223" Christ|strong="G5547", and|strong="G2532" gave|strong="G1325" us|strong="G1325" the|strong="G2532" ministry|strong="G1248" of|strong="G1537" reconciliation|strong="G2643" –
19 To|strong="G2532" proclaim that|strong="G3754" God|strong="G2316", in|strong="G1722" Christ|strong="G5547", was|strong="G1510" reconciling|strong="G2644" the|strong="G1722" world|strong="G2889" to|strong="G2532" himself|strong="G1438", not|strong="G3361" reckoning people|strong="G1510"’s offences|strong="G3900" against|strong="G1722" them|strong="G3588", and|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3754" he|strong="G2532" had|strong="G2532" entrusted us|strong="G2249" with|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" message|strong="G3056" of|strong="G3056" this|strong="G3588" reconciliation|strong="G2643".
20 It|strong="G1223" is|strong="G3588", then|strong="G3767", on|strong="G5228" Christ|strong="G5547"’s behalf|strong="G5228" that|strong="G3588" we|strong="G2249" are|strong="G3588" acting as|strong="G5613" ambassadors|strong="G4243", God|strong="G2316", as|strong="G5613" it|strong="G1223" were|strong="G3588", appealing|strong="G3870" to|strong="G2316" you|strong="G5613" through|strong="G1223" us|strong="G2249". We|strong="G2249" implore|strong="G3870" you|strong="G5613" on|strong="G5228" Christ|strong="G5547"’s behalf|strong="G5228" – Be|strong="G2316" reconciled|strong="G2644" to|strong="G2316" God|strong="G2316".
21 For|strong="G5228" our|strong="G2316" sake|strong="G5228" God|strong="G2316" made|strong="G4160" Christ, who|strong="G3588" was|strong="G1096" innocent of|strong="G2316" sin, one|strong="G3588" with|strong="G1722" our|strong="G2316" sinfulness, so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" in|strong="G1722" him|strong="G3588" we|strong="G2249" might|strong="G2316" be|strong="G1096" made|strong="G4160" one|strong="G3588" with|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" righteousness|strong="G1343" of|strong="G2316" God|strong="G2316".
