2 Avenge|strong="H5358" the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" of the Midianites|strong="H4084": afterward|strong="H0310" shalt thou be gathered|strong="H0622" unto thy people|strong="H5971".
3 And Moses|strong="H4872" spake|strong="H1696" unto the people|strong="H5971", saying|strong="H0559", Arm|strong="H2502" some|strong="H0582" of yourselves unto the war|strong="H6635", and let them go against the Midianites|strong="H4080", and avenge|strong="H5414" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of Midian|strong="H4080".
4 Of every tribe|strong="H4294" a thousand|strong="H0505", throughout all the tribes|strong="H4294" of Israel|strong="H3478", shall ye send|strong="H7971" to the war|strong="H6635".
5 So there were delivered|strong="H4560" out of the thousands|strong="H0505" of Israel|strong="H3478", a thousand|strong="H0505" of every tribe|strong="H4294", twelve|strong="H8147" thousand|strong="H0505" armed|strong="H2502" for war|strong="H6635".
6 And Moses|strong="H4872" sent|strong="H7971" them to the war|strong="H6635", a thousand|strong="H0505" of every tribe|strong="H4294", them and Phinehas|strong="H6372" the son|strong="H1121" of Eleazar|strong="H0499" the priest|strong="H3548", to the war|strong="H6635", with the holy|strong="H6944" instruments|strong="H3627", and the trumpets|strong="H2689" to blow|strong="H8643" in his hand|strong="H3027".
7 And they warred|strong="H6633" against the Midianites|strong="H4080", as the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* commanded|strong="H6680" Moses|strong="H4872"; and they slew|strong="H2026" all the males|strong="H2145".
8 And they slew|strong="H2026" the kings|strong="H4428" of Midian|strong="H4080", beside|strong="H5921" the rest of them that were slain|strong="H2491"; namely, Evi|strong="H0189", and Rekem|strong="H7552", and Zur|strong="H6698", and Hur|strong="H2354", and Reba|strong="H7254", five|strong="H2568" kings|strong="H4428" of Midian|strong="H4080": Balaam|strong="H1109" also the son|strong="H1121" of Beor|strong="H1160" they slew|strong="H2026" with the sword|strong="H2719".
9 And the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" took all the women|strong="H0802" of Midian|strong="H4080" captives|strong="H7617", and their little ones|strong="H2945", and took the spoil|strong="H0962" of all their cattle|strong="H0929", and all their flocks|strong="H4735", and all their goods|strong="H2428".
10 And they burnt|strong="H8313" all their cities|strong="H5892" wherein they dwelt|strong="H4186", and all their goodly castles|strong="H2918", with fire|strong="H0784".
11 And they took|strong="H3947" all the spoil|strong="H7998", and all the prey|strong="H4455", both of men|strong="H0120" and of beasts|strong="H0929".
12 And they brought|strong="H0935" the captives|strong="H7628", and the prey|strong="H4455", and the spoil|strong="H7998", unto Moses|strong="H4872", and Eleazar|strong="H0499" the priest|strong="H3548", and unto the congregation|strong="H5712" of the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478", unto the camp|strong="H4264" at the plains|strong="H6160" of Moab|strong="H4124", which are by Jordan|strong="H3383" near Jericho|strong="H3405".
13 And Moses|strong="H4872", and Eleazar|strong="H0499" the priest|strong="H3548", and all the princes|strong="H5387" of the congregation|strong="H5712", went forth|strong="H3318" to meet|strong="H7125" them without|strong="H2351" the camp|strong="H4264".
14 And Moses|strong="H4872" was wroth|strong="H7107" with the officers|strong="H6485" of the host|strong="H2428", with the captains|strong="H8269" over thousands|strong="H0505", and captains|strong="H8269" over hundreds|strong="H3967", which came|strong="H0935" from|strong="H6635" the battle|strong="H4421".
15 And Moses|strong="H4872" said|strong="H0559" unto them, Have ye saved|strong="H2421" all the women|strong="H5347" alive|strong="H2421"?
16 Behold, these|strong="H2007" caused|strong="H1961" the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478", through the counsel|strong="H1697" of Balaam|strong="H1109", to commit|strong="H4560" trespass|strong="H4604" against the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* in the matter|strong="H1697" of Peor|strong="H6465", and there was a plague|strong="H4046" among the congregation|strong="H5712" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
17 Now therefore kill|strong="H2026" every male|strong="H2145" among the little ones|strong="H2945", and kill|strong="H2026" every woman|strong="H0802" that hath known|strong="H3045" man|strong="H0376" by lying|strong="H4904" with him|strong="H2145".
18 But all the women|strong="H0802" children|strong="H2945", that have not known|strong="H3045" a man|strong="H2145" by lying|strong="H4904" with him, keep alive|strong="H2421" for yourselves.
19 And do ye abide|strong="H2583" without|strong="H2351" the camp|strong="H4264" seven|strong="H7651" days|strong="H3117": whosoever hath killed|strong="H2026" any person|strong="H5315", and whosoever hath touched|strong="H5060" any slain|strong="H2491", purify|strong="H2398" both yourselves and your captives|strong="H7628" on the third|strong="H7992" day|strong="H3117", and on the seventh|strong="H7637" day|strong="H3117".
20 And purify|strong="H2398" all your raiment|strong="H0899", and all that is made|strong="H3627" of skins|strong="H5785", and all work|strong="H4639" of goats’|strong="H5795" hair, and all things made|strong="H3627" of wood|strong="H6086".
21 And Eleazar|strong="H0499" the priest|strong="H3548" said|strong="H0559" unto the men|strong="H0582" of war|strong="H6635" which went|strong="H0935" to the battle|strong="H4421", This is the ordinance|strong="H2708" of the law|strong="H8451" which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* commanded|strong="H6680" Moses|strong="H4872";
22 Only the gold|strong="H2091", and the silver|strong="H3701", the brass|strong="H5178", the iron|strong="H1270", the tin|strong="H0913", and the lead|strong="H5777",
23 Every thing|strong="H1697" that may abide|strong="H0935" the fire|strong="H0784", ye shall make it go through|strong="H5674" the fire|strong="H0784", and it shall be clean|strong="H2891": nevertheless it shall be purified|strong="H2398" with the water|strong="H4325" of separation|strong="H5079": and all that abideth|strong="H0935" not the fire|strong="H0784" ye shall make go through|strong="H5674" the water|strong="H4325".
24 And ye shall wash|strong="H3526" your clothes|strong="H0899" on the seventh|strong="H7637" day|strong="H3117", and ye shall be clean|strong="H2891", and afterward|strong="H0310" ye shall come|strong="H0935" into the camp|strong="H4264".
25 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* spake|strong="H0559" unto Moses|strong="H4872", saying|strong="H0559",
26 Take|strong="H5375" the sum|strong="H7218" of the prey|strong="H4455" that was taken|strong="H7628", both of man|strong="H0120" and of beast|strong="H0929", thou, and Eleazar|strong="H0499" the priest|strong="H3548", and the chief|strong="H7218" fathers|strong="H0001" of the congregation|strong="H5712":
27 And divide|strong="H2673" the prey|strong="H4455" into two parts|strong="H2673"; between them that took|strong="H8610" the war|strong="H4421" upon them, who went out|strong="H3318" to battle|strong="H6635", and between all the congregation|strong="H5712":
28 And levy|strong="H7311" a tribute|strong="H4371" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of the men|strong="H0582" of war|strong="H4421" which went out|strong="H3318" to battle|strong="H6635": one|strong="H0259" soul|strong="H5315" of five|strong="H2568" hundred|strong="H3967", both of the persons|strong="H0120", and of the beeves|strong="H1241", and of the asses|strong="H2543", and of the sheep|strong="H6629":
29 Take|strong="H3947" it of their half|strong="H4276", and give|strong="H5414" it unto Eleazar|strong="H0499" the priest|strong="H3548", for an heave offering|strong="H8641" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
30 And of the children|strong="H1121" of Israel’s|strong="H3478" half|strong="H4276", thou shalt take|strong="H3947" one|strong="H0259" portion|strong="H0270" of fifty|strong="H2572", of the persons|strong="H0120", of the beeves|strong="H1241", of the asses|strong="H2543", and of the flocks|strong="H6629", of all manner of beasts|strong="H0929", and give|strong="H5414" them unto the Levites|strong="H3881", which keep|strong="H8104" the charge|strong="H4931" of the tabernacle|strong="H4908" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
31 And Moses|strong="H4872" and Eleazar|strong="H0499" the priest|strong="H3548" did|strong="H6213" as the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* commanded|strong="H6680" Moses|strong="H4872".
32 And the booty|strong="H4455", being the rest|strong="H3499" of the prey|strong="H0957" which the men of|strong="H5971" war|strong="H6635" had caught|strong="H0962", was six|strong="H8337" hundred|strong="H3967" thousand|strong="H0505" and seventy|strong="H7657" thousand|strong="H0505" and five|strong="H2568" thousand|strong="H0505" sheep|strong="H6629",
33 And threescore and twelve|strong="H7657" thousand|strong="H0505" beeves|strong="H1241",
34 And threescore|strong="H8346" and one|strong="H0259" thousand|strong="H0505" asses|strong="H2543",
35 And thirty|strong="H7970" and two|strong="H8147" thousand|strong="H0505" persons|strong="H5315" in all|strong="H3605", of women|strong="H0802" that had not known|strong="H3045" man|strong="H2145" by lying|strong="H4904" with him.
36 And the half|strong="H4275", which was the portion|strong="H2506" of them that went out|strong="H3318" to war|strong="H6635", was in number|strong="H4557" three|strong="H7969" hundred|strong="H3967" thousand|strong="H0505" and seven|strong="H7651" and thirty|strong="H7970" thousand|strong="H0505" and five|strong="H2568" hundred|strong="H3967" sheep|strong="H6629":
37 And the \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* tribute|strong="H4371" of the sheep|strong="H6629" was six|strong="H8337" hundred|strong="H3967" and threescore and fifteen|strong="H7657".
38 And the beeves|strong="H1241" were thirty|strong="H7970" and six|strong="H8337" thousand|strong="H0505"; of which the \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* tribute|strong="H4371" was threescore and twelve|strong="H7657".
39 And the asses|strong="H2543" were thirty|strong="H7970" thousand|strong="H0505" and five|strong="H2568" hundred|strong="H3967"; of which the \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* tribute|strong="H4371" was threescore|strong="H8346" and one|strong="H0259".
40 And the persons|strong="H0120" were sixteen|strong="H8337" thousand|strong="H0505"; of which the \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* tribute|strong="H4371" was thirty|strong="H7970" and two|strong="H8147" persons|strong="H5315".
41 And Moses|strong="H4872" gave|strong="H5414" the tribute|strong="H4371", which was the \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* heave offering|strong="H8641", unto Eleazar|strong="H0499" the priest|strong="H3548", as the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* commanded|strong="H6680" Moses|strong="H4872".
42 And of the children|strong="H1121" of Israel’s|strong="H3478" half|strong="H4276", which Moses|strong="H4872" divided|strong="H2673" from the men|strong="H0582" that warred|strong="H6633",
43 (Now the half|strong="H4275" that pertained unto the congregation|strong="H5712" was three|strong="H7969" hundred|strong="H3967" thousand|strong="H0505" and thirty|strong="H7970" thousand|strong="H0505" and seven|strong="H7651" thousand|strong="H0505" and five|strong="H2568" hundred|strong="H3967" sheep|strong="H4480",

47 Even of the children|strong="H1121" of Israel’s|strong="H3478" half|strong="H4276", Moses|strong="H4872" took|strong="H3947" one|strong="H0259" portion|strong="H0270" of fifty|strong="H2572", both of man|strong="H0120" and of beast|strong="H0929", and gave|strong="H5414" them unto the Levites|strong="H3881", which kept|strong="H8104" the charge|strong="H4931" of the tabernacle|strong="H4908" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; as the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* commanded|strong="H6680" Moses|strong="H4872".
48 And the officers|strong="H6485" which were over thousands|strong="H0505" of the host|strong="H6635", the captains|strong="H8269" of thousands|strong="H0505", and captains|strong="H8269" of hundreds|strong="H3967", came near|strong="H7126" unto Moses|strong="H4872":
49 And they said|strong="H0559" unto Moses|strong="H4872", Thy servants|strong="H5650" have taken|strong="H5375" the sum|strong="H7218" of the men|strong="H0582" of war|strong="H4421" which are under our charge|strong="H3027", and there lacketh|strong="H6485" not one man|strong="H0376" of us.
50 We have therefore brought|strong="H7126" an oblation|strong="H7133" for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, what every man|strong="H0376" hath gotten|strong="H4672", of jewels|strong="H3627" of gold|strong="H2091", chains|strong="H0685", and bracelets|strong="H6781", rings|strong="H2885", earrings|strong="H5694", and tablets|strong="H3558", to make an atonement|strong="H3722" for our souls|strong="H5315" before|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
51 And Moses|strong="H4872" and Eleazar|strong="H0499" the priest|strong="H3548" took|strong="H3947" the gold|strong="H2091" of them, even all wrought|strong="H4639" jewels|strong="H3627".
52 And all the gold|strong="H2091" of the offering|strong="H8641" that they offered up|strong="H7311" to the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, of the captains|strong="H8269" of thousands|strong="H0505", and of the captains|strong="H8269" of hundreds|strong="H3967", was sixteen|strong="H8337" thousand|strong="H0505" seven|strong="H7651" hundred|strong="H3967" and fifty|strong="H2572" shekels|strong="H8255".

54 And Moses|strong="H4872" and Eleazar|strong="H0499" the priest|strong="H3548" took|strong="H3947" the gold|strong="H2091" of the captains|strong="H8269" of thousands|strong="H0505" and of hundreds|strong="H3967", and brought|strong="H0935" it into the tabernacle|strong="H0168" of the congregation|strong="H4150", for a memorial|strong="H2146" for the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" before|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
