After|strong="H0310" this opened|strong="H6605" Job|strong="H0347" his mouth|strong="H6310", and cursed|strong="H7043" his day|strong="H3117".
And Job|strong="H0347" spake|strong="H6030", and said|strong="H0559",
Let the day|strong="H3117" perish|strong="H0006" wherein I was born|strong="H3205", and the night|strong="H3915" in which it was said|strong="H0559", There is a man child|strong="H1397" conceived|strong="H2029".
Let that day|strong="H3117" be darkness|strong="H2822"; let not God|strong="H0433" regard|strong="H1875" it from above|strong="H4605", neither let the light|strong="H5105" shine|strong="H3313" upon it.
Let darkness|strong="H2822" and the shadow of death|strong="H6757" stain|strong="H1350" it; let a cloud|strong="H6053" dwell|strong="H7931" upon it; let the blackness|strong="H3650" of the day|strong="H3117" terrify|strong="H1204" it.
As for that night|strong="H3915", let darkness|strong="H0652" seize|strong="H3947" upon it; let it not be joined|strong="H2302" unto the days|strong="H3117" of the year|strong="H8141", let it not come|strong="H0935" into the number|strong="H4557" of the months|strong="H3391".
Lo, let that night|strong="H3915" be solitary|strong="H1565", let no joyful voice|strong="H7445" come|strong="H0935" therein.
Let them curse|strong="H5344" it that curse|strong="H0779" the day|strong="H3117", who are ready|strong="H6264" to raise up|strong="H5782" their mourning|strong="H3882".
Let the stars|strong="H3556" of the twilight|strong="H5399" thereof be dark|strong="H2821"; let it look|strong="H6960" for light|strong="H0216", but have none; neither let it see|strong="H7200" the dawning|strong="H6079" of the day|strong="H7837":
Because it shut not up|strong="H5462" the doors|strong="H1817" of my mother’s womb|strong="H0990", nor hid|strong="H5641" sorrow|strong="H5999" from mine eyes|strong="H5869".
Why died|strong="H4191" I not from the womb|strong="H7358"? why did I not give up the ghost|strong="H1478" when I came out|strong="H3318" of the belly|strong="H0990"?
Why did the knees|strong="H1290" prevent|strong="H6923" me? or why the breasts|strong="H7699" that I should suck|strong="H3243"?
For now should I have lain still|strong="H7901" and been quiet|strong="H8252", I should have slept|strong="H3462": then had I been at rest|strong="H5117",
With kings|strong="H4428" and counsellors|strong="H3289" of the earth|strong="H0776", which built|strong="H1129" desolate places|strong="H2723" for themselves;
Or with princes|strong="H8269" that had gold|strong="H2091", who filled|strong="H4390" their houses|strong="H1004" with silver|strong="H3701":
Or as an hidden|strong="H2934" untimely birth|strong="H5309" I had not been; as infants|strong="H5768" which never saw|strong="H7200" light|strong="H0216".
There the wicked|strong="H7563" cease|strong="H2308" from troubling|strong="H7267"; and there the weary|strong="H3019" be at rest|strong="H5117".
There the prisoners|strong="H0615" rest|strong="H7599" together|strong="H3162"; they hear|strong="H8085" not the voice|strong="H6963" of the oppressor|strong="H5065".
The small|strong="H6996" and great|strong="H1419" are there; and the servant|strong="H5650" is free|strong="H2670" from his master|strong="H0113".
Wherefore is light|strong="H0216" given|strong="H5414" to him that is in misery|strong="H6001", and life|strong="H2416" unto the bitter|strong="H4751" in soul|strong="H5315";
Which long|strong="H2442" for death|strong="H4194", but it cometh not; and dig|strong="H2658" for it more than for hid treasures|strong="H4301";
Which rejoice|strong="H8056" exceedingly|strong="H1524", and are glad|strong="H7797", when they can find|strong="H4672" the grave|strong="H6913"?
Why is light given to a man|strong="H1397" whose way|strong="H1870" is hid|strong="H5641", and whom God|strong="H0433" hath hedged in|strong="H5526"?
For my sighing|strong="H0585" cometh|strong="H0935" before|strong="H6440" I eat|strong="H3899", and my roarings|strong="H7581" are poured out|strong="H5413" like the waters|strong="H4325".
For the thing which I greatly|strong="H6343" feared|strong="H6342" is come|strong="H0857" upon me, and that which I was afraid|strong="H3025" of is come|strong="H0935" unto me.
I was not in safety|strong="H7951", neither had I rest|strong="H8252", neither was I quiet|strong="H5117"; yet trouble|strong="H7267" came|strong="H0935".
