1 `Give ear, O heavens, and I speak; And thou dost hear, O earth, sayings of my mouth!
1 Estai atentos, ó céus, eu vou falar. E a terra ouça as palavras de minha boca.
2 Drop as rain doth My doctrine; Flow as dew doth My sayings; As storms on the tender grass, And as showers on the herb,
2 Derrame-se como chuva a minha doutrina, espalhe-se como orvalho a minha palavra, como aguaceiro sobre os campos verdejantes, como chuvarada sobre a relva.
3 For the Name of Jehovah I proclaim, Ascribe ye greatness to our God!
3 Porque vou proclamar o nome do Senhor, dar glória ao nosso Deus!
4 The Rock! -- perfect [is] His work, For all His ways [are] just; God of stedfastness, and without iniquity: Righteous and upright [is] He.
4 Ele é o rochedo, perfeita é a sua obra, justos, todos os seus caminhos; é Deus de lealdade, não de iniqüidade, ele é justo, ele é reto.
5 It hath done corruptly to Him; Their blemish is not His sons`, A generation perverse and crooked!
5 Pecaram contra ele; já não são seus filhos, mas raça degenerada, geração perversa, depravada.
6 To Jehovah do ye act thus, O people foolish and not wise? Is not He thy father -- thy possessor? He made thee, and doth establish thee.
6 E assim que agradeceis ao Senhor, povo frívolo e insensato? Não é ele teu Pai, teu Criador, que te fez e te estabeleceu?
7 Remember days of old -- Understand the years of many generations -- Ask thy father, and he doth tell thee; Thine elders, and they say to thee:
7 Lembra-te dos dias antigos, considera os anos das gerações passadas. Interroga teu pai e ele te contará; teus anciãos e eles te dirão.
8 In the Most High causing nations to inherit, In His separating sons of Adam -- He setteth up the borders of the peoples By the number of the sons of Israel.
8 Quando o Altíssimo dividia os povos e dispersava os filhos dos homens, fixou limites aos povos, segundo o número dos filhos de Deus.
9 For Jehovah`s portion [is] His people, Jacob [is] the line of His inheritance.
9 Entretanto, a parte do Senhor era o seu povo, Jacó, a porção de sua herança.
10 He findeth him in a land -- a desert, And in a void -- a howling wilderness, He turneth him round -- He causeth him to understand -- He keepeth him as the apple of His eye.
10 Em solitude desértica o encontrou, entre bramidos de regiões desoladas, e o cercou de cuidados, e o acalentou, e o guardou como a menina dos olhos!
11 As an eagle waketh up its nest, Over its young ones fluttereth, Spreadeth its wings -- taketh them, Beareth them on its pinions; --
11 Tal qual águia vigilante sobre o ninho, adejando sobre os filhotes, ele estendeu as asas e o tomou, o transportou sobre sua plumagem.
12 Jehovah alone doth lead him, And there is no strange god with him.
12 Só o Senhor foi o seu guia; nenhum outro deus estava com ele.
13 He maketh him ride on high places of earth, And he eateth increase of the fields, And He maketh him suck honey from a rock, And oil out of the flint of a rock;
13 Fê-lo galgar às alturas da terra, alimentou-o com os frutos do campo, deu-lhe a beber mel da rocha, óleo da pedra duríssima.
14 Butter of the herd, and milk of the flock, With fat of lambs, and rams, sons of Bashan, And he-goats, with fat of kidneys of wheat; And of the blood of the grape thou dost drink wine!
14 A manteiga das vacas, o leite das ovelhas, a carne gorda dos cordeiros, dos carneiros de Basã e dos cabritos, com a fina flor do trigo. E bebeste como vinho puro o sangue das uvas.
15 And Jeshurun waxeth fat, and doth kick: Thou hast been fat -- thou hast been thick, Thou hast been covered. And he leaveth God who made him, And dishonoureth the Rock of his salvation.
15 Todavia, Jesurum engordou e recalcitrou. Estás tronchudo, taludo, rechonchudo! E abandonou Deus que o criou, e desprezou o rochedo de sua salvação.
16 They make Him zealous with strangers, With abominations they make Him angry.
16 Provocaram-lhe o ciúme com deuses estranhos, irritaram-no com abominações.
17 They sacrifice to demons -- no god! Gods they have not known -- New ones -- from the vicinity they came; Not feared them have your fathers!
17 Sacrificaram a gênios que não são Deus, a divindades desconhecidas, novas, recém-chegadas, que vossos pais nunca, jamais veneraram.
18 The Rock that begat thee thou forgettest, And neglectest God who formeth thee.
18 Abandonaste o rochedo que te gerou e esqueceste Deus que te formou!
19 And Jehovah seeth and despiseth -- For the provocation of His sons and His daughters.
19 Ao ver tais coisas, o Senhor indignou-se com seus filhos e suas filhas,
20 And He saith: I hide My face from them, I see what [is] their latter end; For a froward generation [are] they, Sons in whom is no stedfastness.
20 e disse: vou ocultar-lhes o meu rosto e ver o que lhes sucederá...Pois são uma geração perversa, filhos sem lealdade.
21 They have made Me zealous by `no-god,` They made Me angry by their vanities; And I make them zealous by `no-people,` By a foolish nation I make them angry.
21 Excitaram o meu ciúme com coisas que não são Deus, magoaram-me com suas idolatrias; também eu excitarei o seu ciúme com gente que não constitui um povo; magoá-los-ei com uma nação insensata.
22 For a fire hath been kindled in Mine anger, And it burneth unto Sheol -- the lowest, And consumeth earth and its increase, And setteth on fire foundations of mountains.
22 Sim, acendeu-se o fogo da minha cólera, que arde até o mais profundo da habitação dos mortos; devora a terra e os seus produtos, e consome os fundamentos das montanhas.
23 I gather upon them evils, Mine arrows I consume upon them.
23 Acumularei desgraças sobre eles, contra eles esgotarei minhas flechas.
24 Exhausted by famine, And consumed by heat, and bitter destruction. And the teeth of beasts I send upon them, With poison of fearful things of the dust.
24 Serão extenuados pela fome, devorados pela febre e pela peste mortal. Incitarei contra eles o dente das feras e o veneno dos animais que rastejam pelo chão.
25 Without bereave doth the sword, And at the inner-chambers -- fear, Both youth and virgin, Suckling with man of grey hair.
25 Fora, a espada a semear a orfandade; dentro, um pavor de estarrecer tanto o adolescente como a jovem, tanto o menino de peito como o ancião.
26 I have said: I blow them away, I cause their remembrance to cease from man;
26 Eu teria prometido reduzi-los a pó, apagar sua lembrança do meio dos homens,
27 If not -- the anger of an enemy I fear, Lest their adversaries know -- Lest they say, Our hand is high, And Jehovah hath not wrought all this.
27 caso não temesse {favorecer} os insultos do inimigo, e que seus adversários, iludindo-se, viessem a exclamar: poderosa é nossa mão; não foi o Senhor quem fez tudo isso!
28 For a nation lost to counsels [are] they, And there is no understanding in them.
28 Porque é uma nação insensata, desprovida de inteligência.
29 If they were wise -- They deal wisely [with] this; They attend to their latter end:
29 Se fossem sábios, compreenderiam, e discerniriam aquilo que os espera.
30 How doth one pursue a thousand, And two cause a myriad to flee! If not -- that their rock hath sold them, And Jehovah hath shut them up?
30 Como poderia um só homem perseguir mil, e dois pôr em fuga dois mil, se seu rochedo não estivesse vendido, se o Senhor não os tivesse entregado?
31 For not as our Rock [is] their rock, (And our enemies [are] judges!)
31 Porque o rochedo deles não é como o nosso rochedo; disso os nossos inimigos são testemunhas.
32 For of the vine of Sodom their vine [is], And of the fields of Gomorrah; Their grapes [are] grapes of gall -- They have bitter clusters;
32 Suas videiras são das plantações de Sodoma e dos terrenos de Gomorra; suas uvas são venenosas, seus cachos, amargosos.
33 The poison of dragons [is] their wine And the fierce venom of asps.
33 o seu vinho é veneno de serpente, o mais terrível veneno de cobra!
34 Is it not laid up with Me? Sealed among My treasures?
34 Eis uma coisa que está guardada comigo, consignada nos meus segredos:
35 Mine [are] vengeance and recompense, At the due time -- doth their foot slide; For near is a day of their calamity, And haste do things prepared for them.
35 a mim me pertencem a vingança e as represálias, para o instante em que o seu pé resvalar. Porque está próximo o dia da sua ruína e o seu destino se precipita.
36 For Jehovah doth judge His people, And for His servants doth repent Himself. For He seeth -- the going away of power, And none is restrained and left.
36 o Senhor fará justiça ao seu povo e terá compaixão dos seus servos, vê-los extenuados, desfeitos tanto ó escravo como o homem livre.
37 And He hath said, Where [are] their gods -- The rock in which they trusted;
37 Dirá: onde estão os seus deuses _ o rochedo em que confiavam _,
38 Which the fat of their sacrifices do eat, They drink the wine of their libation! Let them arise and help you, Let it be for you a hiding-place!
38 que comiam a gordura dos seus sacrifícios e bebiam, o vinho das suas libações? Levantem-se para vos socorrer; sejam eles vosso abrigo!
39 See ye, now, that I -- I [am] He, And there is no god with Me: I put to death, and I keep alive; I have smitten, and I heal; And there is not from My hand a deliverer,
39 Reconhecei agora: eu só, somente eu sou Deus, e não há outro além de mim. Eu extermino e chamo à vida, eu firo e curo, e não há quem o arranque da minha mão.
40 For I lift up unto the heavens My hand, And have said, I live -- to the age!
40 Levanto para o céu a minha mão e digo: tão certo como eu vivo eternamente,
41 If I have sharpened the brightness of My sword, And My hand doth lay hold on judgment, I turn back vengeance to Mine adversaries, And to those hating Me -- I repay!
41 quando afiar a minha espada reluzente e tomar a minha aljava, vingar-me-ei dos meus inimigos e darei a paga aos que me odeiam;
42 I make drunk Mine arrows with blood, And My sword devoureth flesh, From the blood of the pierced and captive, From the head of the freemen of the enemy.
42 embriagarei de sangue as minhas flechas, minha espada se saciará de carne, do sangue das vítimas e dos prisioneiros, das cabeças dos chefes inimigos.
43 Sing ye nations -- [with] his people, For the blood of His servants He avengeth, And vengeance He turneth back on His adversaries, And hath pardoned His land -- His people.`
43 Louvai, ó nações, o seu povo, porque vingará o sangue dos seus servos; tomará vingança dos seus adversários e purificará a sua terra e o seu povo.
44 And Moses cometh and speaketh all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he and Hoshea son of Nun;
44 Moisés, juntamente com Josué, filho de Nun, veio e proferiu todas as palavras deste cântico aos ouvidos do povo.
45 and Moses finisheth to speak all these words unto all Israel,
45 Quando acabou de proferir todas as palavras a todo o Israel,
46 and saith unto them, `Set your heart to all the words which I am testifying against you to-day, that ye command your sons to observe to do all the words of this law,
46 disse-lhes: Aplicai os vossos corações a todos os preceitos que hoje vos dou, prescrevei-os a vossos filhos, a fim de que pratiquem cuidadosamente todas as palavras desta lei.
47 for it [is] not a vain thing for you, for it [is] your life, and by this thing ye prolong days on the ground whither ye are passing over the Jordan to possess it.`
47 Ela não é para vós coisa de somenos importância, mas é vossa própria vida. E por ela que prolongareis os vossos dias na terra que ides possuir, depois de passardes o Jordão.
48 And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, in this self-same day, saying,
48 Nesse mesmo dia, o Senhor disse, a Moisés:
49 `Go up unto this mount Abarim, mount Nebo, which [is] in the land of Moab, which [is] on the front of Jericho, and see the land of Canaan which I am giving to the sons of Israel for a possession;
49 Sobe à montanha de Abarim o monte Nebo, que está na terra de Moab, defronte de Jericó, e contempla a terra de Canaã, cuja posse dou aos filhos de Israel.
50 and die in the mount whither thou art going up, and be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother hath died in the mount Hor, and is gathered unto his people:
50 Morrerás sobre essa montanha em que vais subir, e serás reunido aos teus, como o teu irmão Aarão morreu sobre o monte Hor e foi reunido aos seus,
51 `Because ye trespassed against me in the midst of the sons of Israel at the waters of Meribath-Kadesh, the wilderness of Zin -- because ye sanctified Me not in the midst of the sons of Israel;
51 porque pecastes contra mim no meio dos israelitas, nas águas de Meribá, em Cades, no deserto de Sin, e não me santificasses no meio dos filhos de Israel.
52 but over-against thou seest the land, and thither thou dost not go in, unto the land which I am giving to the sons of Israel.`
52 Verás, pois, defronte de ti a terra que darei aos israelitas, mas não entrarás nela.
