³ whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;

⁷ {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.

⁹ not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.

¹⁰ munu ká mbeɗe ɓe ɓaa mii:

¹⁰ For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.

¹¹ Ka pɔ́ŋ ɗáa fe ka̰aya na, a ɗaa fe kere ze ɓaŋguɔ,

¹¹ And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;

¹² ɓay ḭi lɛ, nun Ŋgɛrɛmbay na

¹² because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.

¹³ Zaɗka ì nduɔ kiyaw kiyaw ká tul ɗáa fe kere na wa̰a, nzoɓ ve nda̰w rɔɔ a ɗáa ka̰aya ziŋ rì lɛ?

¹³ And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?

¹⁴ Ze ì kɔ sɛkɛ fe ɓay tul fe ká ì ɗaa ɓáy zaɗɛ nzɛɗɛm na hɔy kara, suoriya ɓa taa ɓaarì. Ì ɗaa hḭɛ nzoɓri ya, a í ha̰ law-rì ka rúu rì ya nda̰w,

¹⁴ E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!

¹⁵ roo lɛ, ì ɗaa mbay ka ɓo tul *Krisi ká ɓil law-rì ɓa Ŋgɛrɛmbay ɓaarì. A zaɗka nzoɓri kɔ mii, ì ɗaa law-rì nzokɗo te tul Krisi, rɔɔ i vbi rì sa̰wke lɛ, ì ɗo ɗi ya í yḭiŋra ɓáy ɓayke na ha ri laa.

¹⁵ Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.

¹⁶ Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.

¹⁷ Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.

²¹ Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.
