WYCLIFFE vs ARIB
1 Therfor al the cumpeny criede, and wepte in that nyyt,
1 Então toda a congregação levantou a voz e gritou; e o povo chorou naquela noite.
2 and alle the sones of Israel grutchiden ayens Moises and Aaron, and seiden,
2 E todos os filhos de Israel murmuraram contra Moisés e Arão; e toda a congregação lhes disse: Antes tivéssemos morrido na terra do Egito, ou tivéssemos morrido neste deserto!
3 We wolden that we hadden be deed in Egipt, and not in this waast wildirnesse; we wolden that we perischen, and that the Lord lede vs not in to this lond, lest we fallen bi swerd, and oure wyues and fre children ben led prisoneris; whether it is not betere to turne ayen in to Egipt?
3 Por que nos traz o Senhor a esta terra para cairmos à espada? Nossas mulheres e nossos pequeninos serão por presa. Não nos seria melhor voltarmos para o Egito?
4 And thei seiden oon to another, Ordeyne we a duyk to vs, and turne we ayen in to Egipt.
4 E diziam uns aos outros: Constituamos um por chefe o voltemos para o Egito.
5 And whanne this was herd, Moises and Aaron felden lowe to erthe, bifor al the multitude of the sones of Israel.
5 Então Moisés e Arão caíram com os rostos por terra perante toda a assembléia da congregação dos filhos de Israel.
6 And sotheli Josue, the sone of Nun, and Caleph, the sone of Jephone, whiche also cumpassiden the lond, to renten her clothis,
6 E Josué, filho de Num, e Calebe, filho de Jefoné, que eram dos que espiaram a terra, rasgaram as suas vestes;
7 and spaken to al the multitude of the sones of Israel, The lond which we cumpassiden is ful good;
7 e falaram a toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel, dizendo: A terra, pela qual passamos para a espiar, é terra muitíssimo boa.
8 if the Lord is merciful to vs, he schal lede vs in to it, and schal yyue `to vs the lond flowynge with mylk and hony.
8 Se o Senhor se agradar de nós, então nos introduzirá nesta terra e no-la dará; terra que mana leite e mel.
9 Nyle ye be rebel ayens the Lord, nether drede ye the puple of this lond, for we moun deuoure hem so as breed; al her help passide awei fro hem, the Lord is with vs, nyle ye drede.
9 Tão somente não sejais rebeldes contra o Senhor, e não temais o povo desta terra, porquanto são eles nosso pão. Retirou-se deles a sua defesa, e o Senhor está conosco; não os temais.
10 And whanne al the multitude criede, and wolde oppresse hem with stonys, the glorie of the Lord apperide on the roof of the boond of pees, while alle the sones of Israel sien.
10 Mas toda a congregação disse que fossem apedrejados. Nisso a glória do Senhor apareceu na tenda da revelação a todos os filhos de Israel.
11 And the Lord seide to Moises, Hou long schal this puple bacbite me? Hou longe schulen thei not bileue to me in alle `signes, whiche Y haue do bifor hem?
11 Disse então o Senhor a Moisés: Até quando me desprezará este povo e até quando não crerá em mim, apesar de todos os sinais que tenho feito no meio dele?
12 Therfor Y schal smyte hem with pestilence, and Y schal waste hem; forsothe Y schal make thee prince on a greet folk, and strongere than is this.
12 Com pestilência o ferirei, e o rejeitarei; e farei de ti uma nação maior e mais forte do que ele.
13 And Moises seide to the Lord, Egipcians `here not, fro whos myddil thou leddist out this puple,
13 Respondeu Moisés ao Senhor: Assim os egípcios o ouvirão, eles, do meio dos quais, com a tua força, fizeste subir este povo,
14 and the dwelleris of this loond, whiche herden that thou, Lord, art in this puple, and art seyn face to face, and that thi cloude defendith hem, and that thou goist bifore hem in a pilere of cloude bi dai,
14 e o dirão aos habitantes desta terra. Eles ouviram que tu, ó Senhor, estás no meio deste povo; pois tu, ó Senhor, és visto face a face, e a tua nuvem permanece sobre eles, e tu vais adiante deles numa coluna de nuvem de dia, e numa coluna de fogo de noite.
15 and in a piler of fier bi nyyt, that thou hast slayn so greet a multitude as o man,
15 E se matares este povo como a um só homem, então as nações que têm ouvido da tua fama, dirão:
16 and seie thei, He myyte not brynge this puple in to the lond for whiche he swoor, therfor he killide hem in wildirnesse;
16 Porquanto o Senhor não podia introduzir este povo na terra que com juramento lhe prometera, por isso os matou no deserto.
17 therfor the strengthe of the Lord be magnified, as thou hast swore. And Moises seide,
17 Agora, pois, rogo-te que o poder do meu Senhor se engrandeça, segundo tens dito:
18 Lord pacient, and of myche mercy, doynge awei wickidnesse and trespassis, and leeuynge no man vngilti, which visitist the synnes of fadris in to sones in to the thridde and fourthe generacioun, Y biseche,
18 O Senhor é tardio em irar-se, e grande em misericórdia; perdoa a iniqüidade e a transgressão; ao culpado não tem por inocente, mas visita a iniqüidade dos pais nos filhos até a terceira e a quarta geração.
19 foryyue thou the synne of this thi puple, aftir the greetnesse of thi merci, as thou were merciful to men goynge out of Egipt `til to this place.
19 Perdoa, rogo-te, a iniqüidade deste povo, segundo a tua grande misericórdia, como o tens perdoado desde o Egito até, aqui.
20 And the Lord seide, Y haue foryouun to hem, bi thi word.
20 Disse-lhe o Senhor: Conforme a tua palavra lhe perdoei;
21 Y lyue; and the glorie of the Lord schal be fillid in al erthe;
21 tão certo, porém, como eu vivo, e como a glória do Senhor encherá toda a terra,
22 netheles alle men that sien my mageste, and my signes, whiche Y dide in Egipt and in the wildirnesse, and temptiden me now bi ten sithis, and obeieden not to my vois,
22 nenhum de todos os homens que viram a minha glória e os sinais que fiz no Egito e no deserto, e todavia me tentaram estas dez vezes, não obedecendo à minha voz,
23 schulen not se the lond for which Y swore to her fadris, nethir ony of hem that bacbitide me, schal se it.
23 nenhum deles verá a terra que com juramento prometi o seus pais; nenhum daqueles que me desprezaram a verá.
24 Y schal lede my seruaunt Caleph, that was ful of anothir spirit, and suede me, in to this lond, which he cumpasside, and his seed schal welde it.
24 Mas o meu servo Calebe, porque nele houve outro espírito, e porque perseverou em seguir-me, eu o introduzirei na terra em que entrou, e a sua posteridade a possuirá.
25 For Amalech and Cananei dwellen in the valeis, to morewe moue ye tentis, and turne ye ayen in to wildirnesse bi the weie of the reed see.
25 Ora, os amalequitas e os cananeus habitam no vale; tornai-vos amanhã, e caminhai para o deserto em direção ao Mar Vermelho.
26 And the Lord spak to Moises and to Aaron, and seide,
26 Depois disse o Senhor a Moisés e Arão:
27 Hou long grutchith this werste multitude ayens me? Y haue herd the pleyntis of the sones of Israel.
27 Até quando sofrerei esta má congregação, que murmura contra mim? tenho ouvido as murmurações dos filhos de Israel, que eles fazem contra mim.
28 Therfor seie thou to hem, Y lyue, seith the Lord; as ye spaken while Y herde, so Y schal do to you;
28 Dize-lhes: Pela minha vida, diz o Senhor, certamente conforme o que vos ouvi falar, assim vos hei de fazer:
29 youre careyns schulen ligge in this wildirnesse. Alle ye that ben noumbrid, fro twenti yeer and aboue, and grutchiden ayens me,
29 neste deserto cairão os vossos cadáveres; nenhum de todos vós que fostes contados, segundo toda a vossa conta, de vinte anos para cima, que contra mim murmurastes,
30 schulen not entre in to the lond, on which Y reiside myn hond, that Y schulde make you to dwelle outakun Caleph, the sone of Jephone, and Josue, the sone of Nun.
30 certamente nenhum de vós entrará na terra a respeito da qual jurei que vos faria habitar nela, salvo Calebe, filho de Jefoné, e Josué, filho de Num.
31 Forsothe Y schal lede in youre litle children, of whiche ye seiden that thei schulden be preyes `ethir raueyns to enemyes, that thei se the lond which displeside you.
31 Mas aos vossos pequeninos, dos quais dissestes que seriam por presa, a estes introduzirei na terra, e eles conhecerão a terra que vós rejeitastes.
32 Forsothe youre careyns schulen ligge in the wildirnesse;
32 Quanto a vós, porém, os vossos cadáveres cairão neste deserto;
33 youre sones schulen be walkeris aboute in the deseert bi fourti yeer, and thei schulen bere youre fornycacioun, til the careyns of the fadris ben wastid in the deseert,
33 e vossos filhos serão pastores no deserto quarenta anos, e levarão sobre si as vossas infidelidades, até que os vossos cadáveres se consumam neste deserto.
34 by the noumbre of fourti daies, in whiche ye bihelden the loond; a yeer schal be arettid for a dai, and bi fourti yeer ye schulen resseyue youre wickidnesse, and ye schulen knowe my veniaunce.
34 Segundo o número dos dias em que espiastes a terra, a saber, quarenta dias, levareis sobre vós as vossas iniqüidades por quarenta anos, um ano por um dia, e conhecereis a minha oposição.
35 For as Y spak, so Y schal do to al this werste multitude, that roos to gidere ayens me; it schal faile, and schal die in this wildirnesse.
35 Eu, o Senhor, tenho falado; certamente assim o farei a toda esta má congregação, aos que se sublevaram contra mim; neste deserto se consumirão, e aqui morrerão.
36 Therfor alle the men whyche Moises hadde sent to see the lond, and whiche turniden ayen, and maden al the multitude to grutche ayens hym, and depraueden the lond, that it was yuel,
36 Ora, quanto aos homens que Moisés mandara a espiar a terra e que, voltando, fizeram murmurar toda a congregação contra ele, infamando a terra,
37 weren deed, and smytun in the siyt of the Lord.
37 aqueles mesmos homens que infamaram a terra morreram de praga perante o Senhor.
38 Sotheli Josue, the sone of Nun, and Caleph, the sone of Jephone, lyueden, of alle men that yeden to se the lond.
38 Mas Josué, filho de Num, e Calebe, filho de Jefoné, que eram dos homens que foram espiar a terra, ficaram com vida.
39 And Moises spak alle these wordis to alle the sones of Israel, and the puple mourenyde gretli.
39 Então Moisés falou estas palavras a todos os filhos de Israel, pelo que o povo se entristeceu muito.
40 And, lo! thei riseden in the morewtid first, and `stieden in to the cop of the hil, and seiden, We ben redi to stie to the place, of which the Lord spak, for we synneden.
40 Eles, pois, levantando-se de manhã cedo, subiram ao cume do monte, e disseram: Eis-nos aqui; subiremos ao lugar que o Senhor tem dito; porquanto havemos pecado.
41 To whiche Moises seide, Whi passen ye the word of the Lord, that schal not bifalle to you in to prosperite?
41 Respondeu Moisés: Ora, por que transgredis o mandado do Senhor, visto que isso não prosperará?
42 Nyle ye stie, for the Lord is not with you, lest ye fallen bifor youre enemyes.
42 Não subais, pois o Senhor não está no meio de vós; para que não sejais feridos diante dos vossos inimigos.
43 Amalech and Cananei ben bifor you, bi the swerd of whiche ye schulen falle, for ye nolden assente to the Lord, nether the Lord schal be with you.
43 Porque os amalequitas e os cananeus estão ali diante da vossa face, e caireis à espada; pois, porquanto vos desviastes do Senhor, o Senhor não estará convosco.
44 And thei weren maad derk, and stieden in to the cop of the hil; forsothe the ark of the testament of the Lord and Moises yeden not awey fro the tentis.
44 Contudo, temerariamente subiram eles ao cume do monte; mas a arca do pacto do Senhor, e Moisés, não se apartaram do arraial.
45 And Amalech cam doun, and Chananei, that dwelliden in the hil, and he smoot hem, and kittide doun, and pursuede hem til Horma.
45 Então desceram os amalequitas e os cananeus, que habitavam na montanha, e os feriram, derrotando-os até Horma.
