1 And whanne Balaam siy that it pleside the Lord that he schulde blesse Israel, he yede not as he `hadde go bifore, `that he schulde seke fals dyuynyng `bi chiteryng of briddis, but he dresside his face ayens the desert,
1 Vendo Balaão que bem parecia aos olhos do SENHOR que abençoasse a Israel, não se foi esta vez como antes ao encontro dos encantamentos; mas voltou o seu rosto para o deserto.
2 and reiside iyen, and siy Israel dwellynge in tentis bi hise lynagis. And whanne the Spirit of God felde on hym, and whanne a parable was takun,
2 E, levantando Balaão os seus olhos, e vendo a Israel, que estava acampado segundo as suas tribos, veio sobre ele o Espírito de Deus.
3 he seide, Balaam, the sone of Beor, seide, a man whois iye is stoppid seide,
3 E proferiu a sua parábola, e disse: Fala, Balaão, filho de Beor, e fala o homem de olhos abertos;
4 the herere of Goddis wordis seide, which bihelde the reuelacioun of almyyti God, which fallith doun, and hise iyen ben openyd so, Hou faire ben thi tabernaclis,
4 Fala aquele que ouviu as palavras de Deus, o que vê a visão do Todo-Poderoso; que cai, e se lhe abrem os olhos:
5 Jacob, and thi tentis, Israel!
5 Quão formosas são as tuas tendas, ó Jacó, as tuas moradas, ó Israel!
6 as valeys ful of woodis, and moiste gardyns bisidis floodis, as tabernaclis whiche the Lord hath set, as cedris bisidis watris;
6 Como ribeiros se estendem, como jardins à beira dos rios; como árvores de sândalo o Senhor os plantou, como cedros junto às águas;
7 watir schal flowe of his bokat, and his seed schal be in to many watris, `that is, puplis. The kyng of hym schal be takun a wei for Agag, and the rewme of hym schal be doon awai.
7 De seus baldes manarão águas, e a sua semente estará em muitas águas; e o seu rei se erguerá mais do que Agague, e o seu reino será exaltado.

8 Deus o tirou do Egito; as suas forças são como as do boi selvagem; consumirá as nações, seus inimigos, e quebrará seus ossos, e com as suas setas os atravessará.

9 Encurvou-se, deitou-se como leão, e como leoa; quem o despertará? benditos os que te abençoarem, e malditos os que te amaldiçoarem.
10 be arettid in to cursyng And Balaach was wrooth ayens Balaam, and seide, whanne the hondis weren wrungun to gidere, I clepide thee to curse myn enemyes, whiche ayenward thou hast blessid thries.
10 Então a ira de Balaque se acendeu contra Balaão, e bateu ele as suas palmas; e Balaque disse a Balaão: Para amaldiçoar os meus inimigos te tenho chamado; porém agora já três vezes os abençoaste inteiramente.
11 Turne ayen to thi place; forsothe Y demede to onoure thee greetli, but the Lord priuyde thee fro onour disposid.
11 Agora, pois, foge para o teu lugar; eu tinha dito que te honraria grandemente; mas eis que o Senhor te privou desta honra.
12 Balaam answeride to Balaach, Whethir Y seide not to thi messangeris, whiche thou sentist to me,
12 Então Balaão disse a Balaque: Não falei eu também aos teus mensageiros, que me enviaste, dizendo:
13 Thouy Balaach schal yyue to me his hows ful of siluer and of gold, Y schal not mow passe the word of my Lord God, that Y brynge forth of myn herte ony thing, ethir of good ethir of yuel, but what euer thing the Lord schal seie, Y schal speke this?
13 Ainda que Balaque me desse a sua casa cheia de prata e ouro, não poderia ir além da ordem do Senhor, fazendo bem ou mal de meu próprio coração; o que o Senhor falar, isso falarei eu?
14 Netheles Y schal go to my puple, and Y schal yyue counsel to thee, what thi puple schal do in the laste tyme to this puple.
14 Agora, pois, eis que me vou ao meu povo; vem, avisar-te-ei do que este povo fará ao teu povo nos últimos dias.
15 Therfor whanne a parable was takun, he seide eft, Balaam, the sone of Beor seide, a man whos iye is stoppid,
15 Então proferiu a sua parábola, e disse: Fala Balaão, filho de Beor, e fala o homem de olhos abertos;
16 seide, the herere of Goddis wordis seide, which knowith the doctrine of the hiyeste, and seeth the reuelacioun of almiyti God, which fallith doun and hath opyn iyen,
16 Fala aquele que ouviu as palavras de Deus, e o que sabe a ciência do Altíssimo; o que viu a visão do Todo-Poderoso, que cai, e se lhe abrem os olhos.
17 Y schal se hym, but not now; Y schal biholde hym, but not nyy; a sterre schal be borun of Jacob, and a yerde schal rise of Israel; and he schal smyte the duykis of Moab, and he schal waste alle the sones of Seth; and Ydumye schal be hys possessioun,
17 Vê-lo-ei, mas não agora, contemplá-lo-ei, mas não de perto; uma estrela procederá de Jacó e um cetro subirá de Israel, que ferirá os termos dos moabitas, e destruirá todos os filhos de Sete.
18 the eritage of Seir schal bifalle to his enemyes; forsothe Israel schal do strongli, of Jacob schal be he that schal be lord,
18 E Edom será uma possessão, e Seir, seus inimigos, também será uma possessão; pois Israel fará proezas.
19 and schal leese the relikis of the citee.
19 E dominará um de Jacó, e matará os que restam das cidades.
20 And whanne he hadde seyn Amalech, he took a parable, and seide, Amalech is the bigynning of hethene men, whos laste thingis schulen be lost.
20 E vendo os amalequitas, proferiu a sua parábola, e disse: Amaleque é a primeira das nações; porém o seu fim será a destruição.
21 Also `he siy Cyney, and whanne a parable was takun, he seide, Forsothe thi dwellyng place is strong, but if thou schalt sette thi nest in a stoon,
21 E vendo os quenitas, proferiu a sua parábola, e disse: Firme está a tua habitação, e puseste o teu ninho na penha.
22 and schalt be chosun of the generacioun of Cyn, hou longe schalt thou mow dwelle? forsothe Assur schal take thee.
22 Todavia o quenita será consumido, até que Assur te leve por prisioneiro.
23 And whanne a parable was takun, he spak eft, Alas! who schal lyue, whanne the Lord schal make thes thingis?
23 E, proferindo ainda a sua parábola, disse: Ai, quem viverá, quando Deus fizer isto?
24 Thei schulen come in grete schippis fro Ytalie, thei schulen ouercome Assiries, and thei schulen distrie Ebrews, and at the last also thei hem silf schulen perische.
24 E as naus virão das costas de Quitim e afligirão a Assur; também afligirão a Éber; que também será para destruição.
25 And Balaam roos, and turnide ayen in to his place; and Balaach yede ayen bi the weye in which he cam.
25 Então Balaão levantou-se, e se foi, e voltou ao seu lugar, e também Balaque se foi pelo seu caminho.
