1 Lo! forsothe Chore, the sone of Isuar, sone of Caath, sone of Leuy, and Dathan and Abiron, the sones of Heliab, and Hon, the sone of Pheleph, of the sones of Ruben, rysen ayens Moises,
1 E Coré, filho de Izar, filho de Coate, filho de Levi, tomou consigo a Datã e a Abirão, filhos de Eliabe, e a Om, filho de Pelete, filhos de Rúben.
2 and othere of the sones of Israel, two hundryd men and fifti, prynces of the synagoge, and whiche weren clepid bi names in the tyme of counsel.
2 E levantaram-se perante Moisés com duzentos e cinqüenta homens dos filhos de Israel, príncipes da congregação, chamados à assembléia, homens de posição,
3 And whanne `thei hadden stonde ayens Moises and Aaron, thei seiden, Suffice it to you, for al the multitude is of hooly men, and the Lord is in hem; whi ben ye reisid on the puple of the Lord?
3 E se congregaram contra Moisés e contra Arão, e lhes disseram: Basta-vos, pois que toda a congregação é santa, todos são santos, e o Senhor está no meio deles; por que, pois, vos elevais sobre a congregação do Senhor?
4 And whanne Moises hadde herd this, he felde lowe on the face.
4 Quando Moisés ouviu isso, caiu sobre o seu rosto.
5 And he spak to Chore, and to al the multitude; he seide, Eerli the Lord schal make knowun whiche perteynen to hym, and he schal applie to hym hooli men; and thei whiche he hath chose, schulen neiye to hym.
5 E falou a Coré e a toda a sua congregação, dizendo: Amanhã pela manhã o Senhor fará saber quem é seu, e quem é o santo que ele fará chegar a si; e aquele a quem escolher fará chegar a si.
6 Therfor do ye this thing; ech man take his cencere, thou Chore, and al thi counsel;
6 Fazei isto: Tomai vós incensários, Coré e todo seu grupo;
7 and to morewe whanne fier is takun vp, putte ye encense aboue bifor the Lord, and whom euer the Lord chesith, he schal be hooli. Ye sones of Leuy ben myche reisid.
7 E, pondo fogo neles amanhã, sobre eles deitai incenso perante o Senhor; e será que o homem a quem o Senhor escolher, este será o santo; basta-vos, filhos de Levi.
8 And eft Moises seide to Chore, Ye sones of Leuy, here.
8 Disse mais Moisés a Coré: Ouvi agora, filhos de Levi:
9 Whether it is litil to you, that God of Israel departide you fro al the puple, and ioynede you to hym silf, that ye schulden serue hym in the seruyce of tabernacle, and that ye schulden stonde bifor the multitude of puple, and schulden serue hym?
9 Porventura pouco para vós é que o Deus de Israel vos tenha separado da congregação de Israel, para vos fazer chegar a si, e administrar o ministério do tabernáculo do Senhor e estar perante a congregação para ministrar-lhe;
10 Made he therfor thee and alle thi bretheren the sones of Leuy to neiy to hym silf, that ye chalenge to you also preesthod,
10 E te fez chegar, e todos os teus irmãos, os filhos de Levi, contigo? ainda também procurais o sacerdócio?
11 and al thi gaderyng togidere stonde ayens the Lord? For whi what is Aaron, that ye grutchen ayens hym?
11 Assim tu e todo o teu grupo estais contra o Senhor; e Arão, quem é ele, que murmureis contra ele?
12 Therfor Moises sente to clepe Dathan and Abiron, the sones of Heliab; whiche answeriden, We comen not.
12 E Moisés mandou chamar a Datã e a Abirão, filhos de Eliabe; porém eles disseram: Não subiremos;
13 Whethir is it litil to thee, that thou leddist vs out of the lond that flowide with mylk and hony, to sle vs in the deseert, no but also thou be lord of vs?
13 Porventura pouco é que nos fizeste subir de uma terra que mana leite e mel, para nos matares neste deserto, senão que também queres fazer-te príncipe sobre nós?
14 Verili thou hast bronyt vs in to the lond that flowith with streemys of mylk and hony, and hast youe to vs possessioun of feeldis, and of vyneris; whethir also thou wolt putte out oure iyen?
14 Nem tampouco nos trouxeste a uma terra que mana leite e mel, nem nos deste campo e vinhas em herança; porventura arrancarás os olhos a estes homens? Não subiremos.
15 We comen not. And Moises was wrooth greetli, and seide to the Lord, Biholde thou not the sacrifices of hem; thou wost that Y took neuere of hem, yhe, a litil asse, nethir Y turmentide ony of hem.
15 Então Moisés irou-se muito, e disse ao Senhor: Não atentes para a sua oferta; nem um só jumento tomei deles, nem a nenhum deles fiz mal.
16 And Moises seide to Chore, Thou and al thi congregacioun stonde asidis half bifor the Lord, and Aaron to morewe bi hym silf.
16 Disse mais Moisés a Coré: Tu e todo o teu grupo ponde-vos perante o Senhor, tu e eles, e Arão, amanhã.
17 Take ye alle bi you silf youre censeris, and putte ye encense in tho, and offre ye to the Lord, tweyn hundrid and fifti censeris; and Aaron holde his censer.
17 E tomai cada um o seu incensário, e neles ponde incenso; e trazei cada um o seu incensário perante o Senhor, duzentos e cinqüenta incensários; também tu e Arão, cada um o seu incensário.
18 And whanne thei hadden do this, while Moises and Aaron stoden,
18 Tomaram, pois, cada um o seu incensário, e neles puseram fogo, e neles deitaram incenso, e se puseram perante a porta da tenda da congregação com Moisés e Arão.
19 and thei hadden gaderid al the multitude to the `dore of the tabernacle ayens hem, the glorie of the Lord apperide to alle.
19 E Coré fez ajuntar contra eles todo o povo à porta da tenda da congregação; então a glória do Senhor apareceu a toda a congregação.
20 And the Lord spak to Moises and Aaron,
20 E falou o Senhor a Moisés e a Arão, dizendo:
21 and seide, Be ye departid fro the myddis of this congregacioun, that Y leese hem sodeynli.
21 Apartai-vos do meio desta congregação, e os consumirei num momento.
22 Whiche felden lowe on the face, and seiden, Strongeste God of the spiritis of al fleisch, whethir `thin yre schal be fers ayens alle men, for o man synneth?
22 Mas eles se prostraram sobre os seus rostos, e disseram: Ó Deus, Deus dos espíritos de toda a carne, pecará um só homem, e indignar-te-ás tu contra toda esta congregação?
23 And the Lord seide to Moises,
23 E falou o Senhor a Moisés, dizendo:
24 Comaunde thou to al the puple, that it be departid fro the tabernaclis of Chore, and of Dathan, and of Abiron.
24 Fala a toda esta congregação, dizendo: Subi do derredor da habitação de Coré, Datã e Abirão.
25 And Moises roos, and yede to Dathan and Abiron; and while the eldre men of Israel sueden hym,
25 Então Moisés levantou-se, e foi a Datã e a Abirão; e após ele seguiram os anciãos de Israel.
26 he seide to the cumpeny, Go ye awey fro the tabernaclis of wickid men, and nyle ye touche tho thingis that parteynen to hem, lest ye ben wlappid in the synnes of hem.
26 E falou à congregação, dizendo: Desviai-vos, peço-vos, das tendas destes homens ímpios, e não toqueis nada do que é seu para que porventura não pereçais em todos os seus pecados.
27 And whanne thei hadden gon awei fro the tentis `of hem bi the cumpas, Dathan and Abiron yeden out, and stoden in the entryng of her tentis, with wyues, and fre children, and al the multitude.
27 Subiram, pois, do derredor da habitação de Coré, Datã e Abirão. E Datã e Abirão saíram, e se puseram à porta das suas tendas, juntamente com as suas mulheres, e seus filhos, e suas crianças.
28 And Moises seide, In this ye schulen wite that the Lord sente me, that Y schulde do alle thingis whiche ye seen, and Y brouyte not forth tho of myn owne herte.
28 Então disse Moisés: Nisto conhecereis que o Senhor me enviou a fazer todos estes feitos, que de meu coração não procedem.
29 If thei perischen bi customable deeth of men, and wounde visite hem, bi which also othere men ben wont to be visitid,
29 Se estes morrerem como morrem todos os homens, e se forem visitados como são visitados todos os homens, então o Senhor não me enviou.
30 the Lord sente not me; but if the Lord doith a newe thing, that the erthe opene his mouth, and swolewe hem, and alle thingis that perteynen to hem, and thei goen doun quyke in to helle, ye schulen wite that thei blasfemeden the Lord.
30 Mas, se o Senhor criar alguma coisa nova, e a terra abrir a sua boca e os tragar com tudo o que é seu, e vivos descerem ao abismo, então conhecereis que estes homens irritaram ao Senhor.
31 Therfor anoon as he cesside to speke, the erthe was brokun vndur her feet,
31 E aconteceu que, acabando ele de falar todas estas palavras, a terra que estava debaixo deles se fendeu.
32 and the erthe openyde his mouth, and deuowride hem, with her tabernaclis, and al the catel `of hem;
32 E a terra abriu a sua boca, e os tragou com as suas casas, como também a todos os homens que pertenciam a Coré, e a todos os seus bens.
33 and thei yeden doun quike in to helle, and weren hilid with erthe, and perischiden fro the myddis of the multitude.
33 E eles e tudo o que era seu desceram vivos ao abismo, e a terra os cobriu, e pereceram do meio da congregação.
34 And sotheli al Israel that stood bi the cumpas, fledde fro the cry of men perischinge, and seide, Lest perauenture the erthe swolewe also vs.
34 E todo o Israel, que estava ao redor deles, fugiu ao clamor deles; porque diziam: Para que não nos trague a terra também a nós.
35 But also fier yede out fro the Lord, and killide tweyn hundrid and fifti men that offriden encense.
35 Então saiu fogo do Senhor, e consumiu os duzentos e cinqüenta homens que ofereciam o incenso.
36 And the Lord spak to Moises, and seide,
36 E falou o Senhor a Moisés, dizendo:
37 Comaunde thou to Eleasar, sone of Aaron, preest, that he take the censeris that liggen in the brennyng, and that he schatere the fier hidur and thidur; for tho ben halewid in the dethis of synneris;
37 Dize a Eleazar, filho de Arão, o sacerdote, que tome os incensários do meio do incêndio, e espalhe o fogo longe, porque santos são;
38 and that he bringe forth tho in to platis, and naile to the auter, for encense is offrid in tho to the Lord, and tho ben halewid, that the sonis of Israel se tho for a signe and memorial.
38 Quanto aos incensários daqueles que pecaram contra as suas almas, deles se façam folhas estendidas para cobertura do altar; porquanto os trouxeram perante o Senhor; pelo que santos são; e serão por sinal aos filhos de Israel.
39 Therfor Eleazar, preest, took the brasun senseris, in whiche censeris thei whiche the brennyng deuouride hadden offrid, and he `brouyt forth tho in to platis, and nailide to the auter;
39 E Eleazar, o sacerdote, tomou os incensários de metal, que trouxeram aqueles que foram queimados, e os estenderam em folhas para cobertura do altar,
40 that the sones of Israel schulden haue thingis aftirward, bi whiche thei schulden remembre, lest ony alien, and which is not of the seed of Aaron, neiy to offre encense to the Lord, lest he suffre, as Chore sufferide, and al his multitude, while the Lord spak to Moises.
40 Por memorial para os filhos de Israel, que nenhum estranho, que não for da descendência de Arão, se chegue para acender incenso perante o Senhor; para que não seja como Coré e a sua congregação, como o Senhor lhe tinha dito por intermédio de Moisés,
41 Forsothe al the multitude of the sones of Israel grutchide in the dai suynge ayens Moises and Aaron, and seide, Ye han slayn the puple of the Lord.
41 Mas no dia seguinte toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel murmurou contra Moisés e contra Arão, dizendo: Vós matastes o povo do Senhor.
42 And whanne discensioun roos,
42 E aconteceu que, ajuntando-se a congregação contra Moisés e Arão, e virando-se para a tenda da congregação, eis que a nuvem a cobriu, e a glória do Senhor apareceu.
43 and noise encresside, Moises and Aaron fledden to the tabernacle of the boond of pees; and aftir that thei entriden in to it, a cloude hilide the tabernacle, and the glorie of the Lord apperide.
43 Vieram, pois, Moisés e Arão perante a tenda da congregação.
44 And the Lord seide to Moises and to Aaron,
44 Então falou o Senhor a Moisés, dizendo:
45 Go ye awey fro the myddis of this multitude, also now Y schal do awey hem. And whanne thei laien in the erthe, Moises seide to Aaron,
45 Levantai-vos do meio desta congregação, e a consumirei num momento; então se prostraram sobre os seus rostos,
46 Take the censer, and whanne fyer is takun vp of the auter, caste encense aboue, and go soone to the puple, that thou preye for hem; for now ire is gon out fro the Lord, and the wounde is feers.
46 E disse Moisés a Arão: Toma o teu incensário, e põe nele fogo do altar, e deita incenso sobre ele, e vai depressa à congregação, e faze expiação por eles; porque grande indignação saiu de diante do Senhor; já começou a praga.
47 And whanne Aaron hadde do this, and hadde runne to the myddis of the multitude, which the brennynge wastid thanne, he offeride encense;
47 E tomou-o Arão, como Moisés tinha falado, e correu ao meio da congregação; e eis que já a praga havia começado entre o povo; e deitou incenso nele, e fez expiação pelo povo.
48 and he stood bytwixe the deed men and lyuynge, and bisouyte for the puple, and the wounde ceesside.
48 E estava em pé entre os mortos e os vivos; e cessou a praga.
49 Sotheli thei that weren smytun weren fourtene thousynde of men and seuene hundrid, with outen hem that perischiden in the discencioun of Chore.
49 E os que morreram daquela praga foram catorze mil e setecentos, fora os que morreram pela causa de Coré.
50 And Aaron turnyde ayen to Moyses, to the dore of the tabernacle of boond of pees, aftir that the perischyng restide.
50 E voltou Arão a Moisés à porta da tenda da congregação; e cessou a praga.
