Salmos 44

1 To the chief musician. A Contemplation for the Sons of Korah. We have heard with our ears, O God; our fathers have told us the work You did in their days, in the days of old.
1 Ó Deus, nós ouvimos com os nossos ouvidos, nossos pais nos têm contado os feitos que realizaste em seus dias, nos tempos da antigüidade.
2 You drove out nations with Your hand and planted them. You brought evil on peoples and expelled them.
2 Tu expeliste as nações com a tua mão, mas a eles plantaste; afligiste os povos, mas a eles estendes-te largamente.
3 For they did not inherit the land with their own sword; yea, their own arm did not save them. But it was Your right hand and Your arm and the light of Your face, because You favored them.
3 Pois não foi pela sua espada que conquistaram a terra, nem foi o seu braço que os salvou, mas a tua destra e o teu braço, e a luz do teu rosto, porquanto te agradaste deles.
4 You are He, my King, O God; command deliverances for Jacob.
4 Tu és o meu Rei, ó Deus; ordena livramento para Jacó.
5 Through You we will push our enemies; through Your name we will trample those who rise up against us.
5 Por ti derrubamos os nossos adversários; pelo teu nome pisamos os que se levantam contra nós.
6 For I will not trust in my bow, and my sword shall not save me.
6 Pois não confio no meu arco, nem a minha espada me pode salvar.
7 But You have saved us from our adversaries and have put to shame those who hate us.
7 Mas tu nos salvaste dos nossos adversários, e confundiste os que nos odeiam.
8 We boast in God all the day long; and we praise Your name forever. Selah.
8 Em Deus é que nos temos gloriado o dia todo, e sempre louvaremos o teu nome.
9 Now You have cast us off and have shamed us. And You do not go forth with our armies.
9 Mas agora nos rejeitaste e nos humilhaste, e não sais com os nossos exércitos.
10 You make us turn back from the oppressor; yea, our haters plunder for themselves.
10 Fizeste-nos voltar as costas ao inimigo e aqueles que nos odeiam nos despojam à vontade.
11 You have given us like sheep for food and have scattered us among the nations.
11 Entregaste-nos como ovelhas para alimento, e nos espalhaste entre as nações.
12 For no gain You have sold Your people, and You are not increased by their price.
12 Vendeste por nada o teu povo, e não lucraste com o seu preço.
13 You made us a disgrace to our neighbors, a scorn and a mockery to those around us.
13 Puseste-nos por opróbrio aos nossos vizinhos, por escárnio e zombaria àqueles que estão à roda de nós.
14 You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.
14 Puseste-nos por provérbio entre as nações, por ludíbrio entre os povos.
15 My humiliation is before me all the day; yea, the shame of my face covers me,
15 A minha ignomínia está sempre diante de mim, e a vergonha do meu rosto me cobre,
16 because of the slanderer's voice and the blasphemer, before the face of the enemy and avenger.
16 à voz daquele que afronta e blasfema, à vista do inimigo e do vingador.
17 All this has come upon us, and we have not forgotten You nor dealt falsely with Your covenant.
17 Tudo isto nos sobreveio; todavia não nos esquecemos de ti, nem nos houvemos falsamente contra o teu pacto.
18 Our heart has not turned back, and our steps have not swerved from Your way,
18 O nosso coração não voltou atrás, nem os nossos passos se desviaram das tuas veredas,
19 though You have crushed us in the place of jackals and covered us over with the death-shade.
19 para nos teres esmagado onde habitam os chacais, e nos teres coberto de trevas profundas.
20 If we have forgotten the name of our God, and have spread our hands to an alien god,
20 Se nos tivéssemos esquecido do nome do nosso Deus, e estendido as nossas mãos para um deus estranho,
21 shall not God search out this? For He knows the secrets of the heart.
21 porventura Deus não haveria de esquadrinhar isso? pois ele conhece os segredos do coração.
22 Yea, for Your sake we are slain all the day long; we are counted as sheep of slaughter.
22 Mas por amor de ti somos entregues à morte o dia todo; somos considerados como ovelhas para o matadouro.
23 Be aroused! Why do You sleep, O God? Awake! Do not cast us off forever.
23 Desperta! por que dormes, Senhor? Acorda! não nos rejeites para sempre.
24 Why do You hide Your face and forget our affliction and distress?
24 Por que escondes o teu rosto, e te esqueces da nossa tribulação e da nossa angústia?
25 For our soul bows down to the dust; our belly holds fast to the earth.
25 Pois a nossa alma está abatida até o pó; o nosso corpo pegado ao chão.
26 Arise for our help and redeem us for the sake of Your mercy.
26 Levanta-te em nosso auxílio, e resgata-nos por tua benignidade.
