1 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
1 O S enhor disse a Moisés:
2 Speak unto Aaron, and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, then shall the seven lamps give light toward the body of the candlestick.
2 “Dê as seguintes instruções a Arão. Quando você colocar as sete lâmpadas, posicione-as de modo que iluminem o espaço à frente do candelabro”.
3 And Aaron did so; toward the body of the candlestick did he light its lamps; as the Lord had commanded Moses.
3 Arão seguiu essa instrução. Posicionou as sete lâmpadas de modo que iluminassem o espaço à frente do candelabro, conforme o S enhor havia ordenado a Moisés.
4 And this was the workmanship of the candlestick: It was of beaten gold, from the shaft thereof, unto the flowers thereof, it was beaten work; according unto the pattern which the Lord had shown Moses, so made he the candlestick.
4 O candelabro todo, desde a base até as flores, era de ouro batido. Foi feito exatamente de acordo com o modelo que o S enhor havia mostrado a Moisés.
5 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
5 O S enhor disse a Moisés:
6 Take the Levites from the midst of the children of Israel, and cleanse them.
6 “Agora, separe os levitas do restante dos israelitas e torne-os cerimonialmente puros.
7 And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle upon them water of purification, after they have let the razor pass over all their flesh, and then let them wash their clothes, and so shall they be clean.
7 Para isso, você aspergirá sobre eles a água da purificação e os fará raspar todo o corpo e lavar as roupas. Assim, estarão cerimonialmente puros.
8 And they shall take a young bullock with his meat–offering, fine flour mingled with oil; and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin–offering.
8 Instrua-os a trazerem um novilho e uma oferta de cereal de farinha da melhor qualidade umedecida com azeite, junto com outro novilho como oferta pelo pecado.
9 And thou shalt bring near the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt assemble together the whole congregation of the children of Israel.
9 Reúna toda a comunidade de Israel e apresente os levitas à entrada da tenda do encontro.
10 And when thou hast brought near the Levites before the Lord, then shall the children of Israel lay their hands upon the Levites:
10 Quando você trouxer os levitas diante do S enhor , os israelitas colocarão as mãos sobre eles.
11 And Aaron shall make with the Levites a waving before the Lord from the children of Israel, that they may be ready to execute the service of the Lord.
11 Com as mãos levantadas, Arão apresentará os levitas ao S enhor como oferta especial dos israelitas e, desse modo, os consagrará ao serviço do S enhor .
12 And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks: and thou shalt prepare the one as a sin–offering, and the other as a burnt–offering, unto the Lord, to make an atonement for the Levites.
12 “Em seguida, os levitas colocarão as mãos sobre a cabeça dos novilhos. Você sacrificará um novilho ao S enhor como oferta pelo pecado, e o outro, como holocausto, a fim de fazer expiação pelos levitas.
13 And thou shalt place the Levites before Aaron and before his sons, and make with them a waving before the Lord.
13 Coloque os levitas em pé diante de Arão e de seus filhos e, com as mãos levantadas, apresente-os como oferta especial para o S enhor .
14 Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from the midst of the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine.
14 Assim, você separará os levitas do restante dos israelitas, e os levitas serão meus.
15 And after that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation: after thou shalt have cleansed them, and made with them a waving.
15 Depois disso, eles entrarão na tenda do encontro para realizar o trabalho deles, pois você os purificou e os apresentou como oferta especial.
16 For they are wholly given unto me from the midst of the children of Israel: instead of every one that openeth the womb, of every first–born of the children of Israel, have I taken them unto me.
16 “Dentre todos os israelitas, os levitas são reservados para mim. Tomei-os para mim em lugar de todos os filhos mais velhos dos israelitas; tomei os levitas como seus substitutos.
17 For mine are all the first–born of the children of Israel, both of man and beast: on the day that I smote every first–born in the land of Egypt did I sanctify them unto myself.
17 Pois todos os filhos mais velhos e todos os machos das primeiras crias dos animais em Israel são meus. Eu os separei para mim no dia em que feri mortalmente todos os filhos mais velhos dos egípcios e os machos das primeiras crias de seus animais.
18 And I have taken the Levites, instead of all the first–born among the children of Israel.
18 Sim, tomei para mim os levitas em lugar de todos os filhos mais velhos de Israel.
19 And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from the midst of the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Israel; that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary.
19 E, dentre todos os israelitas, designei os levitas para Arão e seus filhos. Eles servirão na tenda do encontro em favor dos israelitas e oferecerão sacrifícios para fazer expiação pelo povo, de modo que nenhuma praga os atinja quando se aproximarem do santuário”.
20 And so did Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, to the Levites: according unto all that the Lord had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did the children of Israel unto them.
20 Assim, Moisés, Arão e toda a comunidade de Israel consagraram os levitas, seguindo todas as instruções que o S enhor deu a Moisés.
21 And the Levites purified themselves, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron made with them a waving before the Lord: and Aaron made an atonement for them to cleanse them.
21 Os levitas se purificaram e lavaram as roupas, e Arão os apresentou ao S enhor como oferta especial. Em seguida, ofereceu um sacrifício e fez expiação por eles, a fim de purificá-los.
22 And after that went the Levites in to do their service in the tabernacle of the congregation before Aaron, and before his sons: as the Lord had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did they unto them.
22 Depois disso, os levitas entraram na tenda do encontro para realizar suas tarefas como assistentes de Arão e seus filhos. Assim, fizeram tudo que S enhor havia ordenado a Moisés a respeito dos levitas.
23 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
23 O S enhor também disse a Moisés:
24 This shall be the rule for the Levites: From twenty and five years old and upward shall he go into the ranks to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation;
24 “Dê a seguinte instrução aos levitas. Começarão a servir na tenda do encontro aos 25 anos
25 And from the age of fifty years shall he go out of the ranks of the service, and he shall serve no more;
25 e deixarão o serviço aos 50 anos.
26 But he shall wait on his brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, but the service shall he not perform; thus shalt thou do unto the Levites in the discharge of their office.
26 Depois que deixarem o serviço, ajudarão seus colegas levitas no trabalho de cuidar da tenda do encontro, mas não realizarão mais as cerimônias. Assim você designará as funções dos levitas”.
