1 My heart overfloweth with a goodly matter; I say: 'My work is concerning a king'; my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
1 O meu coração trasborda de boas palavras; dirijo os meus versos ao rei; a minha língua é qual pena de um hábil escriba.
2 Thou art fairer than the children of men; grace is poured upon thy lips; therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.
2 Tu és o mais formoso dos filhos dos homens; a graça se derramou nos teus lábios; por isso Deus te abençoou para sempre.
3 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O mighty one, thy glory and thy majesty.
3 Cinge a tua espada à coxa, ó valente, na tua glória e majestade.
4 And in thy majesty prosper, ride on, in behalf of truth and meekness and righteousness; and let thy right hand teach thee tremendous things.
4 E em tua majestade cavalga vitoriosamente pela causa da verdade, da mansidão e da justiça, e a tua destra te ensina coisas terríveis.
5 Thine arrows are sharp--the peoples fall under thee-- they sink into the heart of the king's enemies.
5 As tuas flechas são agudas no coração dos inimigos do rei; os povos caem debaixo de ti.
6 Thy throne given of God is for ever and ever; a sceptre of equity is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
6 O teu trono, ó Deus, subsiste pelos séculos dos séculos; cetro de eqüidade é o cetro do teu reino.
7 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated wickedness; therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
7 Amaste a justiça e odiaste a iniqüidade; por isso Deus, o teu Deus, te ungiu com óleo de alegria, mais do que a teus companheiros.
8 Myrrh, and aloes, and cassia are all thy garments; out of ivory palaces stringed instruments have made thee glad.
8 Todas as tuas vestes cheiram a mirra a aloés e a cássia; dos palácios de marfim os instrumentos de cordas e te alegram.
9 Kings' daughters are among thy favourites; at thy right hand doth stand the queen in gold of Ophir.
9 Filhas de reis estão entre as tuas ilustres donzelas; à tua mão direita está a rainha, ornada de ouro de Ofir.
10 'Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house;
10 Ouve, filha, e olha, e inclina teus ouvidos; esquece-te do teu povo e da casa de teu pai.
11 So shall the king desire thy beauty; for he is thy lord; and do homage unto him.
11 Então o rei se afeiçoará à tua formosura. Ele é teu senhor, presta-lhe, pois, homenagem.
12 And, O daughter of Tyre, the richest of the people shall entreat thy favour with a gift.'
12 A filha de Tiro estará ali com presentes; os ricos do povo suplicarão o teu favor.
13 All glorious is the king's daughter within the palace; her raiment is of chequer work inwrought with gold.
13 A filha do rei está esplendente lá dentro do palácio; as suas vestes são entretecidas de ouro.
14 She shall be led unto the king on richly woven stuff; the virgins her companions in her train being brought unto thee.
14 Em vestidos de cores brilhantes será conduzida ao rei; as virgens, suas companheiras que a seguem, serão trazidas à tua presença.
15 They shall be led with gladness and rejoicing; they shall enter into the king's palace.
15 Com alegria e regozijo serão trazidas; elas entrarão no palácio do rei.
16 Instead of thy fathers shall be thy sons, whom thou shalt make princes in all the land.
16 Em lugar de teus pais estarão teus filhos; tu os farás príncipes sobre toda a terra.
17 I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations; therefore shall the peoples praise thee for ever and ever.
17 Farei lembrado o teu nome de geração em geração; pelo que os povos te louvarão eternamente.
