1 Then went Boaz vp to the gate, and sate there, and beholde, the kinsman, of whome Boaz had spoken, came by: and he sayd, Ho, snch one, come, sit downe here. And he turned, and sate downe.
1 E Boaz subiu à porta, e assentou-se ali; e eis que o remidor de que Boaz tinha falado ia passando, e disse-lhe: Ó fulano, vem cá, assenta-te aqui. E desviou-se para ali, e assentou-se.
2 Then he tooke ten men of the Elders of the citie, and sayd, Sit ye downe here. And they sate downe.
2 Então tomou dez homens dos anciãos da cidade, e disse: Assentai-vos aqui. E assentaram-se.
3 And he said vnto ye kinsman, Naomi, that is come againe out of ye countrey of Moab, wil sell a parcel of land, which was our brother Elimelechs.
3 Então disse ao remidor: Aquela parte da terra que foi de Elimeleque, nosso irmão, Noemi, que tornou da terra dos moabitas, está vendendo.
4 And I thought to aduertise thee, saying, Buy it before the assistants, and before the Elders of my people. If thou wilt redeeme it, redeeme it: but if thou wilt not redeeme it, tel me: for I know that there is none besides thee to redeeme it, and I am after thee. Then he answered, I wil redeeme it.
4 E eu resolvi informar-te disso e dizer-te: Compra-a diante dos habitantes, e diante dos anciãos do meu povo; se a hás de redimir, redime-a, e se não a houveres de redimir, declara-mo, para que o saiba, pois outro não há senão tu que a redima, e eu depois de ti. Então disse ele: Eu a redimirei.
5 Then said Boaz, What day thou buyest the field of the hand of Naomi, thou mnst also buy it of Ruth the Moabitesse the wife of the dead, to stirre vp the name of the dead, vpon his inheritance.
5 Disse porém Boaz: No dia em que comprares a terra da mão de Noemi, também a comprarás da mão de Rute, a moabita, mulher do falecido, para suscitar o nome do falecido sobre a sua herança.
6 And the kinsman answered, I can not redeeme it, lest I destroy mine owne inheritance: redeeme my right to thee, for I can not redeeme it.
6 Então disse o remidor: Para mim não a poderei redimir, para que não prejudique a minha herança; toma para ti o meu direito de remissão, porque eu não a poderei redimir.
7 Now this was the maner beforetime in Israel, concerning redeeming and changing, for to stablish all things: a man did plucke off his shooe, and gaue it his neighbour, and this was a sure witnes in Israel.
7 Havia, pois, já de muito tempo este costume em Israel, quanto a remissão e permuta, para confirmar todo o negócio; o homem descalçava o sapato e o dava ao seu próximo; e isto era por testemunho em Israel.
8 Therefore the kinsman sayd to Boas, Buy it for thee: and he drew off his shooe.
8 Disse, pois, o remidor a Boaz: Toma-a para ti. E descalçou o sapato.
9 And Boaz sayd vnto the Elders and vnto all the people, Ye are witnesses this day, that I haue bought all that was Elimelechs, and all that was Chilions and Mahlons, of the hand of Naomi.
9 Então Boaz disse aos anciãos e a todo o povo: Sois hoje testemunhas de que tomei tudo quanto foi de Elimeleque, e de Quiliom, e de Malom, da mão de Noemi,
10 And moreouer, Ruth the Moabitesse the wife of Mahlon, haue I bought to be my wife, to stirre vp the name of the dead vpon his inheritance, and that the name of the dead be not put out from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day.
10 E de que também tomo por mulher a Rute, a moabita, que foi mulher de Malom, para suscitar o nome do falecido sobre a sua herança, para que o nome do falecido não seja desarraigado dentre seus irmãos e da porta do seu lugar; disto sois hoje testemunhas.
11 And all the people that were in the gate, and the Elders sayd, We are witnesses: the Lord make the wife that commeth into thine house, like Rahel and like Leah, which twaine did build the house of Israel: and that thou mayest doe worthily in Ephrathah, and be famous in Beth-lehem,
11 E todo o povo que estava na porta, e os anciãos, disseram: Somos testemunhas; o Senhor faça a esta mulher, que entra na tua casa, como a Raquel e como a Lia, que ambas edificaram a casa de Israel; e porta-te valorosamente em Efrata, e faze-te nome afamado em Belém.
12 And that thine house be like the house of Pharez (whom Thamar bare vnto Iudah) of the seede which the Lord shall giue thee of this yong woman.
12 E seja a tua casa como a casa de Perez (que Tamar deu à luz a Judá), pela descendência que o Senhor te der desta moça.
13 So Boaz tooke Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in vnto her, the Lord gaue that she conceiued, and bare a sonne.
13 Assim tomou Boaz a Rute, e ela lhe foi por mulher; e ele a possuiu, e o Senhor lhe fez conceber, e deu à luz um filho.
14 And the women sayd vnto Naomi, Blessed be the Lord, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, and his name shalbe continued in Israel.
14 Então as mulheres disseram a Noemi: Bendito seja o Senhor, que não deixou hoje de te dar remidor, e seja o seu nome afamado em Israel.
15 And this shall bring thy life againe, and cherish thine olde age: for thy daughter in lawe which loueth thee, hath borne vnto him, and she is better to thee then seuen sonnes.
15 Ele te será por restaurador da alma, e nutrirá a tua velhice, pois tua nora, que te ama, o deu à luz, e ela te é melhor do que sete filhos.
16 And Naomi tooke the childe, and layde it in her lap, and became nource vnto it.
16 E Noemi tomou o filho, e o pôs no seu colo, e foi sua ama.
17 And the women her neighbours gaue it a name, saying, There is a childe borne to Naomi, and called the name thereof Obed: the same was the father of Ishai, the father of Dauid.
17 E as vizinhas lhe deram um nome, dizendo: A Noemi nasceu um filho. E deram-lhe o nome de Obede. Este é o pai de Jessé, pai de Davi.
18 These now are ye generations of Pharez: Pharez begate Hezron,
18 Estas são, pois, as gerações de Perez: Perez gerou a Hezrom,
19 And Hezron begate Ram, and Ram begate Amminadab,
19 E Hezrom gerou a Rão, e Rão gerou a Aminadabe,
20 And Amminadab begate Nahshon, and Nahshon begate Salmah,
20 E Aminadabe gerou a Naassom, e Naassom gerou a Salmom,
21 And Salmon begate Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed,
21 E Salmom gerou a Boaz, e Boaz gerou a Obede,
22 And Obed begate Ishai, and Ishai begate Dauid.
22 E Obede gerou a Jessé, e Jessé gerou a Davi.
