1 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
1 O Senhor Deus disse a Moisés:
2 Speake vnto the children of Israel, and take of euery one of them a rod, after the house of their fathers, of all their princes according to the familie of their fathers, euen twelue rods: and thou shalt write euery mans name vpon his rod.
2 — Diga aos israelitas que cada um dos chefes de tribo lhe traga um bastão; serão doze bastões ao todo. Escreva o nome de cada chefe no seu próprio bastão
3 And write Aarons name vpon the rod of Leui: for euery rodde shalbe for the head of the house of their fathers.
3 e depois escreva o nome de Arão no bastão que representa a tribo de Levi. Haverá um bastão para cada chefe de tribo.
4 And thou shalt put them in the Tabernacle of the Congregation, before the Arke of the Testimonie, where I wil declare my selfe to you.
4 Você colocará os bastões na Tenda Sagrada , em frente da arca da aliança , onde eu me encontro com vocês.
5 And the mans rod, whome I chuse, shall blossome: and I will make cease from mee the grudgings of the children of Israel, which grudge against you.
5 Aí o bastão do homem que eu escolher vai brotar. Assim farei com que parem as reclamações que esses israelitas fazem contra mim.
6 Then Moses spake vnto the children of Israel, and al their princes gaue him a rod, one rod for euery Prince, according to the houses of their fathers, euen twelue rods, and the rod of Aaron was among their roddes.
6 Então Moisés falou com os israelitas, e cada um dos seus chefes lhe deu um bastão, um para cada tribo, doze ao todo. E entre os bastões estava aquele que tinha o nome de Arão.
7 And Moses layde the rods before the Lord in the Tabernacle of the Testimonie.
7 Moisés pôs os bastões na Tenda, em frente da arca da aliança de Deus, o Senhor .
8 And when Moses on the morow went into the Tabernacle of the Testimonie, beholde, the rod of Aaron for the house of Leui was budded, and brought forth buddes, and brought forth blossoms, and bare ripe almondes.
8 No dia seguinte Moisés entrou na Tenda e viu que o bastão com o nome de Arão, que representava a tribo de Levi, havia brotado. E tinha brotos, flores e amêndoas maduras.
9 Then Moses brought out all the rods from before the Lord vnto all the children of Israel: and they looked vpon them, and tooke euery man his rodde.
9 Aí Moisés tirou da presença do Senhor todos os bastões e levou aos israelitas. Eles viram o que havia acontecido, e cada chefe pegou o seu bastão.
10 After, the Lord said vnto Moses, Bring Aarons rod againe before the Testimonie to bee kept for a token to the rebellious children, and thou shalt cause their murmurings to cease from me, that they dye not.
10 O Senhor Deus disse a Moisés: — Ponha de novo o bastão com o nome de Arão em frente da arca da aliança. Ele ficará ali como um aviso para os israelitas rebeldes. Assim, eles vão parar de reclamar contra mim e não serão mortos.
11 So Moses did as the Lord had commanded him: so did he.
11 E Moisés fez como o Senhor havia mandado.
12 And the children of Israel spake vnto Moses, saying, Behold, we are dead, we perish, we are all lost:
12 Aí o povo de Israel disse a Moisés: — Estamos perdidos! Vamos morrer! Sim, todos nós vamos morrer!
13 Whosoeuer commeth neere, or approcheth to the Tabernacle of the Lord, shall dye: shall we be consumed and dye?
13 Aquele que chegar perto da arca do Senhor morrerá! É, sim, todos nós vamos morrer!
