1 Then afterwarde the people remooued from Hazeroth, and pitched in the wildernesse of Paran.
1 Disse o Senhor a Moisés:
2 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
2 Envia homens que espiem a terra de Canaã, que eu hei de dar aos filhos de Israel; de cada tribo de seus pais enviareis um homem, sendo cada qual príncipe entre eles.
3 Sende thou men out to search the lande of Canaan which I giue vnto the children of Israel: of euery tribe of their fathers shall ye sende a man, such as are all rulers among them.
3 Enviou-os Moisés do deserto de Parã, segundo o mandado do Senhor ; todos aqueles homens eram cabeças dos filhos de Israel.
4 Then Moses sent them out of the wildernesse of Paran at the commandement of the Lord: all those men were heades of the children of Israel.
4 São estes os seus nomes: da tribo de Rúben, Samua, filho de Zacur;
5 Also their names are these: of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the sonne of Zaccur:
5 da tribo de Simeão, Safate, filho de Hori;
6 Of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the sonne of Hori:
6 da tribo de Judá, Calebe, filho de Jefoné;
7 Of the tribe of Iudah, Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh:
7 da tribo de Issacar, Jigeal, filho de José;
8 Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the sonne of Ioseph:
8 da tribo de Efraim, Oseias, filho de Num;
9 Of the tribe of Ephraim, Oshea the sone of Nun:
9 da tribo de Benjamim, Palti, filho de Rafu;
10 Of the tribe of Beniamin, Palti the sonne of Raphu:
10 da tribo de Zebulom, Gadiel, filho de Sodi;
11 Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the sone of Sodi:
11 da tribo de José, pela tribo de Manassés, Gadi, filho de Susi;
12 Of the tribe of Ioseph, to wit, of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the sonne of Susi:
12 da tribo de Dã, Amiel, filho de Gemali;
13 Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the sonne of Gemalli:

14 Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the sonne of Michael:

16 Of the tribe of Gad, Geuel the sonne of Machi.
16 São estes os nomes dos homens que Moisés enviou a espiar aquela terra; e a Oseias, filho de Num, Moisés chamou Josué.
17 These are the names of the men, which Moses sent to spie out the lande: and Moses called ye name of Oshea the sonne of Nun, Iehoshua.
17 Enviou-os, pois, Moisés a espiar a terra de Canaã; e disse-lhes: Subi ao Neguebe e penetrai nas montanhas.
18 So Moses sent them to spie out the lande of Canaan, and said vnto them, Go vp this way toward the South, and go vp into the moutaines,
18 Vede a terra, que tal é, e o povo que nela habita, se é forte ou fraco, se poucos ou muitos.
19 And consider the land what it is, and the people that dwel therein, whether they be strong or weake, either fewe or many,
19 E qual é a terra em que habita, se boa ou má; e que tais são as cidades em que habita, se em arraiais, se em fortalezas.
20 Also what the lande is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad: and what cities they be, that they dwell in, whether they dwell in tents, or in walled townes:
20 Também qual é a terra, se fértil ou estéril, se nela há matas ou não. Tende ânimo e trazei do fruto da terra. Eram aqueles dias os dias das primícias das uvas.
21 And what the land is: whether it be fat or leane, whether there be trees therein, or not. And be of good courage, and bring of the fruite of the lande (for then was the time of the first ripe grapes)
21 Assim, subiram e espiaram a terra desde o deserto de Zim até Reobe, à entrada de Hamate.
22 So they went vp, and searched out the lande, from the wildernesse of Zin vnto Rehob, to go to Hamath,
22 E subiram pelo Neguebe e vieram até Hebrom; estavam ali Aimã, Sesai e Talmai, filhos de Anaque (Hebrom foi edificada sete anos antes de Zoã, no Egito).
23 And they ascended toward the South, and came vnto Hebron, where were Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai, the sonnes of Anak. And Hebron was built seuen yeere before Zoan in Egypt.
23 Depois, vieram até ao vale de Escol e dali cortaram um ramo de vide com um cacho de uvas, o qual trouxeram dois homens numa vara, como também romãs e figos.
24 Then they came to the riuer of Eshcol, and cut downe thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it vpon a barre betweene two, and brought of the pomegranates and of the figges.
24 Esse lugar se chamou o vale de Escol, por causa do cacho que ali cortaram os filhos de Israel.
25 That place was called the riuer Eshcol, because of the cluster of grapes, which the children of Israel cut downe thence.
25 Ao cabo de quarenta dias, voltaram de espiar a terra,
26 Then after fourtie dayes, they turned againe from searching of the land.
26 caminharam e vieram a Moisés, e a Arão, e a toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel no deserto de Parã, a Cades; deram-lhes conta, a eles e a toda a congregação, e mostraram-lhes o fruto da terra.
27 And they went and came to Moses and to Aaron and vnto al the Congregation of the children of Israel, in the wildernesse of Paran, to Kadesh, and brought to the, and to all the Congregation tydings, and shewed them the fruite of the lande.
27 Relataram a Moisés e disseram: Fomos à terra a que nos enviaste; e, verdadeiramente, mana leite e mel; este é o fruto dela.
28 And they tolde him, and saide, We came vnto the land whither thou hast sent vs, and surely it floweth with milke and honie: and here is of the fruite of it.
28 O povo, porém, que habita nessa terra é poderoso, e as cidades, mui grandes e fortificadas; também vimos ali os filhos de Anaque.
29 Neuerthelesse the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled and exceeding great: and moreouer, we sawe the sonnes of Anak there.
29 Os amalequitas habitam na terra do Neguebe; os heteus, os jebuseus e os amorreus habitam na montanha; os cananeus habitam ao pé do mar e pela ribeira do Jordão.
30 The Amalekites dwell in the South countrey, and the Hittites, and the Iebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountaines, and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Iorden.
30 Então, Calebe fez calar o povo perante Moisés e disse: Eia! Subamos e possuamos a terra, porque, certamente, prevaleceremos contra ela.
31 Then Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and saide, Let vs go vp at once, and possesse it: for vndoubtedly we shall ouercome it.
31 Porém os homens que com ele tinham subido disseram: Não poderemos subir contra aquele povo, porque é mais forte do que nós.
32 But the men, that went vp with him, saide, we be not able to goe vp against the people: for they are stronger then we.
32 E, diante dos filhos de Israel, infamaram a terra que haviam espiado, dizendo: A terra pelo meio da qual passamos a espiar é terra que devora os seus moradores; e todo o povo que vimos nela são homens de grande estatura.
33 So they brought vp an euill report of the land which they had searched for the children of Israel, saying, The lande which we haue gone through to search it out, is a land that eateth vp the inhabitants thereof: for all the people that we sawe in it, are men of great stature.
33 Também vimos ali gigantes (os filhos de Anaque são descendentes de gigantes), e éramos, aos nossos próprios olhos, como gafanhotos e assim também o éramos aos seus olhos.
34 For there we sawe gyants, the sonnes of Anak, which come of the gyants, so that we seemed in our sight like grashoppers: and so wee were in their sight.
