1 PAULOS, an apostle of Jeshu Meshiha by the will of Aloha, and on account of the promise of life which is in Jeshu Meshiha,
1 Paulo, apóstolo de Jesus Cristo, pela vontade de Deus, segundo a promessa da vida que está em Cristo Jesus,
2 to Timotheos my beloved son: grace and mercies and peace from Aloha our Father, and from our Lord Jeshu Meshiha.
2 A Timóteo, meu amado filho: Graça, misericórdia, e paz da parte de Deus Pai, e da de Cristo Jesus, Senhor nosso.
3 I thank Aloha, whom I serve from my fathers with a pure conscience, that constantly I remember thee in my prayers of the night and of the day;
3 Dou graças a Deus, a quem desde os meus antepassados sirvo com uma consciência pura, de que sem cessar faço memória de ti nas minhas orações noite e dia;
4 and have longed to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy:
4 Desejando muito ver-te, lembrando-me das tuas lágrimas, para me encher de gozo;
5 in remembrance of thee (and) of thy true faith which dwelt first in the mother of thy mother Lois, and in thy mother Eunika, and which, I am persuaded, (is) in thee also.
5 Trazendo à memória a fé não fingida que em ti há, a qual habitou primeiro em tua avó Lóide, e em tua mãe Eunice, e estou certo de que também habita em ti.
6 On account of this I put thee in mind to keep awake the gift of Aloha, which is in thee by the laying on of my hands.
6 Por cujo motivo te lembro que despertes o dom de Deus que existe em ti pela imposição das minhas mãos.
7 For Aloha hath not given to us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of discipline.
7 Porque Deus não nos deu o espírito de temor, mas de fortaleza, e de amor, e de moderação.
8 Wherefore be not thou ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner; but sustain evil with the gospel, through the power of Aloha,
8 Portanto, não te envergonhes do testemunho de nosso Senhor, nem de mim, que sou prisioneiro seu; antes participa das aflições do evangelho segundo o poder de Deus,
9 who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling; not according to our works, but according to his will, and that grace of his which was given to us in Jeshu Meshiha before the time of the worlds,
9 Que nos salvou, e chamou com uma santa vocação; não segundo as nossas obras, mas segundo o seu próprio propósito e graça que nos foi dada em Cristo Jesus antes dos tempos dos séculos;
10 and is now revealed by the revelation of our Saviour Jeshu Meshiha, who hath abolished death, and hath demonstrated life and incorruption, through the gospel,
10 E que é manifesta agora pela aparição de nosso Salvador Jesus Cristo, o qual aboliu a morte, e trouxe à luz a vida e a incorrupção pelo evangelho;
11 of which I am appointed an herald and an apostle and a teacher of the nations:
11 Para o que fui constituído pregador, e apóstolo, e doutor dos gentios.
12 on account of which I suffer these, and am not ashamed. I know in whom I have believed, and am persuaded that there is power in his hands my deposite to keep for me unto that day.
12 Por cuja causa padeço também isto, mas não me envergonho; porque eu sei em quem tenho crido, e estou certo de que é poderoso para guardar o meu depósito até àquele dia.
13 Let the outline of sound words be with thee, which thou hast heard from me, with the faith and love which are in Jeshu Meshiha:
13 Conserva o modelo das sãs palavras que de mim tens ouvido, na fé e no amor que há em Cristo Jesus.
14 that good deposite keep through the Spirit of Holiness who dwelleth in us.
14 Guarda o bom depósito pelo Espírito Santo que habita em nós.
15 Know this, that all those of Asia are turned from me, of whom are Phygellos and Harmogenes.
15 Bem sabes isto, que os que estão na Ásia todos se apartaram de mim; entre os quais foram Figelo e Hermógenes.
16 Our Lord give mercies to the house of Onesiphoros, who many times hath refreshed me, and of the chains of my bonds hath not been ashamed.
16 O Senhor conceda misericórdia à casa de Onesíforo, porque muitas vezes me recreou, e não se envergonhou das minhas cadeias.
17 But when also he came to Ruma, with diligence he sought me, and found me.
17 Antes, vindo ele a Roma, com muito cuidado me procurou e me achou.
18 Our Lord grant that he may find mercies with our Lord in that day: and how he ministered to me in Ephesos thou especially knowest.
18 O Senhor lhe conceda que naquele dia ache misericórdia diante do Senhor. E, quanto me ajudou em Éfeso, melhor o sabes tu.
