2 Teach that|strong="G3588" the|strong="G3588" older|strong="G4246" men|strong="G3588" should|strong="G3588" be|strong="G1510" soberly clear minded, dignified|strong="G4586" and|strong="G4102" self-controlled|strong="G4998" – sound|strong="G5198" in|strong="G4102" faith|strong="G4102", love, and|strong="G4102" patient|strong="G5281" endurance|strong="G5281".
3 So|strong="G3361", too, that|strong="G3361" the|strong="G1722" older|strong="G4247" women|strong="G4247" should|strong="G3361" live reverent|strong="G2412" lives, not|strong="G3361" slanderers|strong="G1228", not|strong="G3361" slaves|strong="G1402" to|strong="G1722" excessive|strong="G4183" drinking|strong="G3631".

8 let|strong="G2443" the|strong="G1537" instruction|strong="G3056" that|strong="G2443" you|strong="G3004" give|strong="G3004" be|strong="G2443" sound|strong="G5199" and|strong="G3056" above|strong="G4012" reproach, so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" those|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3588" oppose you|strong="G3004" may|strong="G2443" be|strong="G2443" ashamed|strong="G1788" when|strong="G2192" they|strong="G3588" fail to|strong="G2443" find anything|strong="G3367" bad|strong="G5337" to|strong="G2443" say|strong="G3004" about|strong="G4012" us|strong="G3004".
9 Tell slaves|strong="G1401" to|strong="G1722" respect|strong="G3956" their|strong="G1722" owner|strong="G2398"’s authority in|strong="G1722" all|strong="G3956" circumstances|strong="G1722", and|strong="G1401" to|strong="G1722" try their|strong="G1722" best to|strong="G1722" please|strong="G2101" them|strong="G1722".
10 Teach them|strong="G3588" not|strong="G3361" to|strong="G2443" contradict or|strong="G3361" to|strong="G2443" pilfer, but|strong="G3361" to|strong="G2443" show|strong="G1731" such|strong="G3588" praiseworthy fidelity|strong="G4102" in|strong="G1722" everything|strong="G3956", as|strong="G1722" to|strong="G2443" recommend the|strong="G1722" teaching|strong="G1319" about|strong="G1722" God|strong="G2316" our|strong="G2316" Saviour|strong="G4990" by|strong="G1722" all|strong="G3956" that|strong="G2443" they|strong="G3588" do|strong="G3361".
11 For|strong="G1063" the|strong="G3956" loving kindness of|strong="G2316" God|strong="G2316" has|strong="G2316" been revealed, bringing|strong="G4992" salvation|strong="G4992" for|strong="G1063" all|strong="G3956",
12 leading us|strong="G2249" to|strong="G2443" renounce ungodliness and|strong="G2532" worldly|strong="G2886" desires|strong="G1939", and|strong="G2532" to|strong="G2443" live|strong="G2198" self-controlled, upright|strong="G1346", and|strong="G2532" godly|strong="G2153" lives|strong="G2198" here|strong="G1722" in|strong="G1722" this|strong="G3588" present|strong="G3568" age,
13 while|strong="G2532" awaiting our|strong="G2316" blessed|strong="G3107" hope|strong="G1680" – the|strong="G2532" appearing|strong="G2015" in|strong="G2532" glory|strong="G1391" of|strong="G2316" our|strong="G2316" great|strong="G3173" God|strong="G2316" and|strong="G2532" Saviour|strong="G4990", Christ|strong="G5547" Jesus|strong="G2424".
14 For|strong="G5228" he|strong="G2532" gave|strong="G1325" himself|strong="G1438" on|strong="G5228" our|strong="G2532" behalf|strong="G5228", to|strong="G2443" deliver|strong="G1325" us|strong="G1325" from|strong="G2532" all|strong="G3956" wickedness, and|strong="G2532" to|strong="G2443" purify|strong="G2511" for|strong="G5228" himself|strong="G1438" a|strong="G2532" people|strong="G2992" who|strong="G3739" should|strong="G2532" be|strong="G2532" truly his|strong="G1438" own|strong="G1438" and|strong="G2532" eager to|strong="G2443" do|strong="G2532" good|strong="G2570".
