2 One|strong="G3739" person|strong="G3739"’s faith|strong="G3739" permits them|strong="G3588" to|strong="G1161" eat|strong="G2068" food|strong="G5315" of|strong="G3956" all|strong="G3956" kinds|strong="G3956", while|strong="G1161" another|strong="G3739" whose|strong="G3739" faith|strong="G3739" is|strong="G3588" weak eats|strong="G2068" only|strong="G3303" vegetable food|strong="G5315".
3 The|strong="G1161" person who|strong="G3588" eats|strong="G2068" meat|strong="G3588" must|strong="G2919" not|strong="G3361" despise|strong="G1848" the|strong="G1161" person who|strong="G3588" abstains from|strong="G3588" it|strong="G1161"; nor|strong="G3361" must|strong="G2919" the|strong="G1161" person who|strong="G3588" abstains from|strong="G3588" eating|strong="G2068" meat|strong="G3588" pass|strong="G2919" judgment|strong="G2919" on|strong="G1161" the|strong="G1161" one|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3588" eats|strong="G2068" it|strong="G1161", for|strong="G1063" God|strong="G2316" himself has|strong="G2316" received|strong="G4355" them|strong="G3588".
4 Who|strong="G5101" are|strong="G1510" you|strong="G4771", that|strong="G3588" you|strong="G4771" should|strong="G3588" pass|strong="G2919" judgment|strong="G2919" on|strong="G1161" the|strong="G1161" servant|strong="G3610" of|strong="G2962" another|strong="G3588"? Their|strong="G2398" standing|strong="G2476" or|strong="G2228" falling|strong="G4098" concerns their|strong="G2398" own|strong="G2398" master|strong="G2962". And|strong="G1161" stand|strong="G2476" they|strong="G1161" will|strong="G5101", for|strong="G1063" their|strong="G2398" Master|strong="G2962" can|strong="G1063" enable them|strong="G3588" to|strong="G1161" stand|strong="G2476".
5 Again|strong="G2398", one|strong="G1538" person|strong="G3739" considers some|strong="G3739" days|strong="G2250" to|strong="G1722" be|strong="G3956" more|strong="G1161" sacred than|strong="G3844" others|strong="G3588", while|strong="G1722" another|strong="G3739" considers all|strong="G3956" days|strong="G2250" to|strong="G1722" be|strong="G3956" alike. Everyone|strong="G3956" ought to|strong="G1722" be|strong="G3956" fully|strong="G4135" convinced|strong="G4135" in|strong="G1722" their|strong="G1722" own|strong="G2398" mind|strong="G3563".
6 The|strong="G2532" person who|strong="G3588" observes|strong="G5426" a|strong="G2532" day|strong="G2250", observes|strong="G5426" it|strong="G2532" to|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" Master|strong="G2962"’s|strong="G2962" honour. They|strong="G2532", again|strong="G2532", who|strong="G3588" eat|strong="G2068" meat|strong="G3588" eat|strong="G2068" it|strong="G2532" to|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" Master|strong="G2962"’s|strong="G2962" honour, for|strong="G1063" they|strong="G2532" give|strong="G2168" thanks|strong="G2168" to|strong="G2532" God|strong="G2316"; while|strong="G2250" the|strong="G2532" person who|strong="G3588" abstains|strong="G3756" from|strong="G2532" it|strong="G2532" abstains|strong="G3756" from|strong="G2532" it|strong="G2532" to|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" Master|strong="G2962"’s|strong="G2962" honour, and|strong="G2532" also|strong="G2532" gives|strong="G2168" thanks|strong="G2168" to|strong="G2532" God|strong="G2316".
7 There|strong="G2532" is|strong="G2532" not|strong="G3762" one|strong="G3762" of|strong="G2532" us|strong="G2249" whose|strong="G2532" life|strong="G2198" concerns ourselves|strong="G1438" alone|strong="G1438", and|strong="G2532" not|strong="G3762" one|strong="G3762" of|strong="G2532" us|strong="G2249" whose|strong="G2532" death concerns ourself alone|strong="G1438";
8 for|strong="G1063", if|strong="G1437" we|strong="G1437" live|strong="G2198", our|strong="G2962" life|strong="G2198" is|strong="G1510" for|strong="G1063" the|strong="G3588" Master|strong="G2962", and|strong="G5037", if|strong="G1437" we|strong="G1437" die, our|strong="G2962" death is|strong="G1510" for|strong="G1063" the|strong="G3588" Master|strong="G2962". Whether|strong="G1437", then|strong="G3767", we|strong="G1437" live|strong="G2198" or|strong="G1437" die we|strong="G1437" belong|strong="G1510" to|strong="G5037" the|strong="G3588" Master|strong="G2962".
9 The|strong="G2532" purpose for|strong="G1063" which|strong="G2532" Christ|strong="G5547" died and|strong="G2532" came|strong="G2532" back|strong="G1519" to|strong="G1519" life|strong="G2198" was|strong="G2532" this|strong="G3778" – that|strong="G2443" he|strong="G2532" might|strong="G2532" be|strong="G2532" Lord|strong="G2961" over|strong="G2961" both|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" dead|strong="G3498" and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" living|strong="G2198".
10 I|strong="G2532" would|strong="G2316" ask the|strong="G2532" one|strong="G3956" “Why|strong="G5101" do|strong="G5101" you|strong="G4771" judge|strong="G2919" other|strong="G1161" followers|strong="G3588" of|strong="G2316" the|strong="G2532" Lord|strong="G3588"?” And|strong="G2532" I|strong="G2532" would|strong="G2316" ask the|strong="G2532" other|strong="G1161" “Why|strong="G5101" do|strong="G5101" you|strong="G4771" despise|strong="G1848" them|strong="G3588"?” For|strong="G1063" we|strong="G1063" will|strong="G2316" all|strong="G3956" stand|strong="G3936" before|strong="G3936" the|strong="G2532" court of|strong="G2316" God|strong="G2316".
11 For|strong="G1063" scripture|strong="G1125" says|strong="G3004" – “‘As|strong="G2532" surely as|strong="G2532" I|strong="G1473" live|strong="G2198",’ says|strong="G3004" the|strong="G2532" Lord|strong="G2962", ‘every|strong="G3956" knee|strong="G1119" will|strong="G2316" bend before|strong="G3588" me|strong="G1473" and|strong="G2532" every|strong="G3956" tongue|strong="G1100" will|strong="G2316" praise|strong="G1843" God|strong="G2316".’”

14 Through|strong="G1223" my|strong="G1722" union with|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" Lord|strong="G2962" Jesus|strong="G2424", I|strong="G2532" know|strong="G1492" and|strong="G2532" am|strong="G1510" persuaded|strong="G3982" that|strong="G3754" nothing|strong="G3762" is|strong="G1510" defiling in|strong="G1722" itself|strong="G1438". A|strong="G2532" thing|strong="G5100" is|strong="G1510" “defiling” only|strong="G1487" to|strong="G2532" the|strong="G1722" person|strong="G5100" who|strong="G3588" holds it|strong="G2532" to|strong="G2532" be|strong="G1510" so|strong="G2532".
15 If|strong="G1487", for|strong="G1063" the|strong="G1223" sake|strong="G1223" of|strong="G1223" what|strong="G3739" you|strong="G4771" eat, you|strong="G4771" wound your|strong="G1223" fellow follower’s feelings, your|strong="G1223" life|strong="G4043" has|strong="G3739" ceased to|strong="G2596" be|strong="G3361" ruled by|strong="G1223" love. Do|strong="G3361" not|strong="G3361", by|strong="G1223" what|strong="G3739" you|strong="G4771" eat, ruin someone|strong="G3739" for|strong="G1063" whom|strong="G3739" Christ|strong="G5547" died|strong="G3588"!
16 Do|strong="G3361" not|strong="G3361" let|strong="G3767" what|strong="G3588" is|strong="G3588" right for|strong="G3361" you|strong="G5210" become|strong="G3361" a|strong="G3361" matter of|strong="G3588" reproach.
17 For|strong="G1063" the|strong="G1722" kingdom of|strong="G4151" God|strong="G2316" does|strong="G1510" not|strong="G3756" consist|strong="G1510" of|strong="G4151" eating|strong="G1035" and|strong="G2532" drinking|strong="G4213", but|strong="G2532" of|strong="G4151" righteousness|strong="G1343" and|strong="G2532" peace|strong="G1515" and|strong="G2532" gladness|strong="G5479" through|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" presence of|strong="G4151" the|strong="G1722" Holy|strong="G4151" Spirit|strong="G4151".
18 The|strong="G1722" person|strong="G3778" who|strong="G3588" serves|strong="G1398" the|strong="G1722" Christ|strong="G5547" in|strong="G1722" this|strong="G3778" way|strong="G1722" pleases God|strong="G2316", and|strong="G2532" wins the|strong="G1722" approval of|strong="G2316" their|strong="G2532" fellows.
19 Therefore|strong="G3767" our|strong="G2532" efforts should|strong="G3588" be|strong="G2532" directed towards all|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3588" makes for|strong="G1519" peace|strong="G1515" and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" mutual building|strong="G3619" up|strong="G1519" of|strong="G2532" character.
20 Do|strong="G3361" not|strong="G3361" undo God|strong="G2316"’s work|strong="G2041" for|strong="G1223" the|strong="G3956" sake|strong="G1223" of|strong="G1223" what|strong="G3588" you|strong="G3956" eat|strong="G2068". Though|strong="G3303" everything|strong="G3956" is|strong="G3588" “clean|strong="G2513",” yet|strong="G3303", if a|strong="G1223" person eats|strong="G2068" so|strong="G1223" as|strong="G2316" to|strong="G3361" put|strong="G3956" a|strong="G1223" stumbling-block in|strong="G2316" the|strong="G3956" way|strong="G1223" of|strong="G1223" others|strong="G3588", they|strong="G3588" do|strong="G3361" wrong|strong="G2556".
21 The|strong="G1722" right|strong="G2570" course is|strong="G3588" to|strong="G1722" abstain from|strong="G3588" meat|strong="G2907" or|strong="G2228" wine|strong="G3631" or|strong="G2228", indeed, anything|strong="G5315" that|strong="G3739" is|strong="G3588" a|strong="G1722" stumbling-block to|strong="G1722" your|strong="G1722" fellow follower of|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" Lord|strong="G3588".
22 As|strong="G1722" for|strong="G1722" yourself|strong="G4572" – keep|strong="G3361" this|strong="G3588" conviction|strong="G4572" of|strong="G2316" yours|strong="G4771" to|strong="G2596" yourself|strong="G4572", as|strong="G1722" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" presence|strong="G1799" of|strong="G2316" God|strong="G2316". Happy|strong="G3107" the|strong="G1722" person|strong="G3739" who|strong="G3739" never|strong="G3361" has|strong="G2192" to|strong="G2596" condemn|strong="G2919" themselves|strong="G1438" in|strong="G1722" regard|strong="G2192" to|strong="G2596" something they|strong="G3588" think|strong="G2192" right!
23 The|strong="G3956" person|strong="G3739", however|strong="G1161", who|strong="G3739" has|strong="G3739" misgivings|strong="G1252" stands condemned|strong="G2632" if|strong="G1437" they|strong="G1161" still eat|strong="G2068", because|strong="G3754" their|strong="G3956" doing so|strong="G1161" is|strong="G1510" not|strong="G3756" the|strong="G3956" result|strong="G1537" of|strong="G1537" faith|strong="G4102". And|strong="G1161" anything|strong="G3956" not|strong="G3756" done as|strong="G1161" the|strong="G3956" result|strong="G1537" of|strong="G1537" faith|strong="G4102" is|strong="G1510" a|strong="G1510" sin.
