2 This|strong="G3588" good|strong="G1223" news God|strong="G3588" promised|strong="G4279" long ago through|strong="G1223" his|strong="G1223" prophets|strong="G4396" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" sacred scriptures|strong="G1124",
3 concerning|strong="G4012" his|strong="G4012" Son|strong="G5207", Jesus|strong="G1537" Christ, our|strong="G4012" Lord|strong="G3588"; who|strong="G3588", as|strong="G2596" to|strong="G2596" his|strong="G4012" human|strong="G4561" nature, was|strong="G1096" descended from|strong="G1537" David|strong="G1138",
4 but|strong="G2316", as|strong="G1722" to|strong="G2596" the|strong="G1722" spirit|strong="G4151" of|strong="G1537" holiness within|strong="G1722" him|strong="G3588", was|strong="G3588" miraculously designated Son|strong="G5207" of|strong="G1537" God|strong="G2316" by|strong="G1722" his|strong="G1722" resurrection from|strong="G1537" the|strong="G1722" dead|strong="G3498".
5 Through|strong="G1223" him|strong="G3588" we|strong="G3739" received|strong="G2983" the|strong="G1722" gift|strong="G5485" of|strong="G1223" the|strong="G1722" apostolic office, to|strong="G1519" win submission to|strong="G1519" the|strong="G1722" faith|strong="G4102" among|strong="G1722" all|strong="G3956" nations|strong="G1484" for|strong="G1519" the|strong="G1722" glory of|strong="G1223" his|strong="G3956" name|strong="G3686".
6 And|strong="G2532" among|strong="G1722" these|strong="G3739" nations are|strong="G1510" you|strong="G5210" – you|strong="G5210" who|strong="G3739" have|strong="G2532" been|strong="G1510" called|strong="G2822" to|strong="G2532" belong|strong="G1510" to|strong="G2532" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547".
7 To|strong="G2532" all|strong="G3956" in|strong="G1722" Rome|strong="G4516" who|strong="G3588" are|strong="G1510" dear to|strong="G2532" God|strong="G2316" and|strong="G2532" have|strong="G2532" been|strong="G1510" called|strong="G2822" to|strong="G2532" become|strong="G1510" Christ|strong="G5547"’s|strong="G2962" people|strong="G3956", may|strong="G2532" God|strong="G2316", our|strong="G2316" Father|strong="G3962", and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G1722" Lord|strong="G2962" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547" bless you|strong="G5210" and|strong="G2532" give|strong="G1473" you|strong="G5210" peace|strong="G1515".

9 God|strong="G2316", to|strong="G1722" whom|strong="G3739" I|strong="G1473" offer|strong="G3000" the|strong="G1722" worship|strong="G3000" of|strong="G5207" my|strong="G1722" soul as|strong="G5613" I|strong="G1473" tell the|strong="G1722" goodness of|strong="G5207" his|strong="G1722" Son|strong="G5207", is|strong="G1510" my|strong="G1722" witness|strong="G3144" how|strong="G5613" constantly I|strong="G1473" mention|strong="G3417" you|strong="G5210" when|strong="G5613" I|strong="G1473" pray,

11 For|strong="G1063" I|strong="G1063" long|strong="G1971" to|strong="G1519" see|strong="G3708" you|strong="G5210", in|strong="G1519" order|strong="G2443" to|strong="G1519" impart|strong="G3330" to|strong="G1519" you|strong="G5210" some|strong="G5100" spiritual|strong="G4152" gift|strong="G5486" and|strong="G3708" so|strong="G2443" give|strong="G3330" you|strong="G5210" fresh strength –
12 or|strong="G2532" rather|strong="G1161" that|strong="G3588" both|strong="G2532" you|strong="G5210" and|strong="G2532" I|strong="G1473" may|strong="G2532" find encouragement in|strong="G1722" each|strong="G1223" other|strong="G1161"’s faith|strong="G4102".
13 I|strong="G2532" want|strong="G2309" you|strong="G5210" to|strong="G4314" know|strong="G1722", my|strong="G1722" friends, that|strong="G3754" I|strong="G2532" have|strong="G2192" many|strong="G4178" times|strong="G4178" intended|strong="G4388" coming|strong="G2064" to|strong="G4314" see you|strong="G5210" – but|strong="G1161" until|strong="G2532" now|strong="G1161" I|strong="G2532" have|strong="G2192" been|strong="G2192" prevented|strong="G2967" – that|strong="G3754" I|strong="G2532" might|strong="G2532" find among|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5210" some|strong="G5100" fruit|strong="G2590" of|strong="G2532" my|strong="G1722" labours, as|strong="G2531" I|strong="G2532" have|strong="G2192" already among|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" other|strong="G3062" nations|strong="G1484".
14 I|strong="G2532" have|strong="G2532" a|strong="G2532" duty to|strong="G2532" both|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" Greek|strong="G1672" and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" barbarian, to|strong="G2532" both|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" cultured and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" ignorant.
15 And|strong="G2532" so|strong="G3779", for|strong="G1722" my|strong="G1722" part|strong="G1473", I|strong="G1473" am|strong="G1473" ready|strong="G4289" to|strong="G2532" tell the|strong="G1722" good|strong="G2097" news|strong="G2097" to|strong="G2532" you|strong="G5210" also|strong="G2532" who|strong="G3588" are|strong="G3588" in|strong="G1722" Rome|strong="G4516".
16 For|strong="G1063" I|strong="G2532" am|strong="G1510" not|strong="G3756" ashamed|strong="G1870" of|strong="G2316" the|strong="G2532" good|strong="G3956" news|strong="G2098"; it|strong="G2532" is|strong="G1510" the|strong="G2532" power|strong="G1411" of|strong="G2316" God|strong="G2316" which|strong="G3588" brings|strong="G1510" salvation|strong="G4991" to|strong="G1519" everyone|strong="G3956" who|strong="G3588" believes|strong="G4100", to|strong="G1519" the|strong="G2532" Jew|strong="G2453" first|strong="G4413", but|strong="G2532" also|strong="G2532" to|strong="G1519" the|strong="G2532" Greek|strong="G1672".
17 For|strong="G1063" in|strong="G1722" it|strong="G1161" there|strong="G1161" is|strong="G3588" a|strong="G1519" revelation of|strong="G1537" the|strong="G1722" divine righteousness|strong="G1343" resulting|strong="G1519" from|strong="G1537" faith|strong="G4102" and|strong="G1161" leading|strong="G1519" on|strong="G1722" to|strong="G1519" faith|strong="G4102"; as|strong="G2531" scripture|strong="G1125" says – “Through|strong="G1722" faith|strong="G4102" the|strong="G1722" righteous|strong="G1342" will|strong="G2316" find life|strong="G2198".”
18 So|strong="G2532", too|strong="G2532", there|strong="G2532" is|strong="G3588" a|strong="G2532" revelation from|strong="G2532" heaven|strong="G3772" of|strong="G2316" the|strong="G1722" divine wrath|strong="G3709" against|strong="G1909" every|strong="G3956" form|strong="G3956" of|strong="G2316" ungodliness and|strong="G2532" wickedness|strong="G1722" on|strong="G1909" the|strong="G1722" part|strong="G2532" of|strong="G2316" those|strong="G3588" people|strong="G3956" who|strong="G3588", by|strong="G1722" their|strong="G2532" wicked|strong="G3588" lives, are|strong="G3588" stifling the|strong="G1722" truth.
19 This|strong="G3588" is|strong="G1510" so|strong="G1063", because|strong="G1063" what|strong="G3588" can|strong="G1063" be|strong="G1510" known|strong="G1110" about|strong="G1722" God|strong="G2316" is|strong="G1510" plain|strong="G5318" to|strong="G1722" them|strong="G3588"; for|strong="G1063" God|strong="G2316" himself|strong="G5319" has|strong="G2316" made|strong="G5319" it|strong="G1063" plain|strong="G5318".
20 For|strong="G1063" ever|strong="G1519" since|strong="G1063" the|strong="G2532" creation|strong="G2937" of|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" universe God|strong="G2532"’s invisible attributes – his|strong="G1438" everlasting power|strong="G1411" and|strong="G2532" divinity – are|strong="G1510" to|strong="G1519" be|strong="G1510" seen|strong="G2529" and|strong="G2532" studied in|strong="G1519" his|strong="G1438" works|strong="G1411", so|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3588" people|strong="G1510" have|strong="G2532" no|strong="G2532" excuse;
21 because|strong="G1360", although|strong="G2532" they|strong="G2532" learned|strong="G1097" to|strong="G2532" know|strong="G1097" God|strong="G2316", yet|strong="G2532" they|strong="G2532" did|strong="G2532" not|strong="G3756" offer him|strong="G3588" as|strong="G5613" God|strong="G2316" either|strong="G2228" praise|strong="G1392" or|strong="G2228" thanksgiving. Their|strong="G2532" speculations|strong="G1261" about|strong="G5613" him|strong="G3588" proved futile|strong="G3154", and|strong="G2532" their|strong="G2532" undiscerning minds|strong="G2588" were|strong="G3588" darkened|strong="G4654".
22 Professing|strong="G5335" to|strong="G1510" be|strong="G1510" wise|strong="G4680", they|strong="G1510" showed themselves|strong="G5335" fools|strong="G3471";
23 and|strong="G2532" they|strong="G2532" transformed the|strong="G1722" glory|strong="G1391" of|strong="G2316" the|strong="G1722" immortal God|strong="G2316" into|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" likeness|strong="G3667" of|strong="G2316" mortal|strong="G5349" humans, and|strong="G2532" of|strong="G2316" birds|strong="G4071", and|strong="G2532" beasts|strong="G5074", and|strong="G2532" reptiles|strong="G2062".
24 Therefore|strong="G1352" God|strong="G2316" abandoned them|strong="G3588" to|strong="G1519" impurity, letting them|strong="G3588" follow the|strong="G1722" cravings of|strong="G2316" their|strong="G1438" hearts|strong="G2588", until|strong="G1519" they|strong="G3588" dishonoured their|strong="G1438" own|strong="G1438" bodies|strong="G4983";
25 for|strong="G1519" they|strong="G2532" had|strong="G2532" substituted a|strong="G2532" lie|strong="G5579" for|strong="G1519" the|strong="G1722" truth about|strong="G1722" God|strong="G2316", and|strong="G2532" had|strong="G2532" reverenced and|strong="G2532" worshiped|strong="G4573" created|strong="G2936" things|strong="G3588" more|strong="G2532" than|strong="G3844" the|strong="G1722" Creator|strong="G2936", who|strong="G3739" is|strong="G1510" to|strong="G1519" be|strong="G1510" praised for|strong="G1519" ever|strong="G1519". Amen.
26 That|strong="G3588", I|strong="G1063" say|strong="G1223", is|strong="G3588" why|strong="G1223" God|strong="G2316" abandoned them|strong="G3588" to|strong="G1519" degrading passions|strong="G3806". Even|strong="G5037" the|strong="G1519" women|strong="G2338" among|strong="G1519" them|strong="G3588" perverted the|strong="G1519" natural|strong="G5446" use|strong="G5540" of|strong="G1223" their|strong="G1438" bodies to|strong="G1519" the|strong="G1519" unnatural|strong="G3844";
27 while|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" men|strong="G3588", disregarding that|strong="G3739" for|strong="G1519" which|strong="G3739" women|strong="G2338" were|strong="G3588" intended by|strong="G1722" nature, were|strong="G3588" consumed with|strong="G1722" passion for|strong="G1519" one|strong="G3739" another|strong="G1438". Men|strong="G3588" indulged in|strong="G1722" vile practices|strong="G3739" with|strong="G1722" men|strong="G3588", and|strong="G2532" incurred in|strong="G1722" their|strong="G1438" own|strong="G1438" persons|strong="G1438" the|strong="G1722" inevitable penalty for|strong="G1519" their|strong="G1438" perverseness.
28 Then|strong="G2532", as|strong="G2531" they|strong="G2532" would|strong="G2316" not|strong="G3756" keep|strong="G4160" God|strong="G2316" before|strong="G1722" their|strong="G1438" minds|strong="G3563", God|strong="G2316" abandoned them|strong="G3588" to|strong="G1519" depraved thoughts, so|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3588" they|strong="G2532" did|strong="G4160" all|strong="G2532" kinds of|strong="G2316" shameful things|strong="G3588".
29 They|strong="G3956" revelled in|strong="G3956" every|strong="G3956" form|strong="G3956" of|strong="G3956" wickedness|strong="G4189", evil|strong="G2549", greed|strong="G4124", vice. Their|strong="G3956" lives were|strong="G3956" full|strong="G3324" of|strong="G3956" envy|strong="G5355", murder|strong="G5408", quarrelling, treachery, malice|strong="G2549".
30 They became back-biters, slanderers|strong="G2637", impious, insolent|strong="G5197", boastful. They devised new sins. They disobeyed their parents|strong="G1118".
31 They were undiscerning, untrustworthy, without natural affection or pity.
32 Well|strong="G2532" aware|strong="G1921" of|strong="G2316" God|strong="G2316"’s decree, that|strong="G3754" those|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3588" do|strong="G4160" such|strong="G5108" things|strong="G3588" deserve to|strong="G2532" die|strong="G2288", not|strong="G3756" only|strong="G3440" are|strong="G1510" they|strong="G2532" guilty of|strong="G2316" them|strong="G3588" themselves|strong="G3441", but|strong="G2532" they|strong="G2532" even|strong="G2532" applaud those|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3588" do|strong="G4160" them|strong="G3588".
