2 For|strong="G1722" at|strong="G1722" one|strong="G3739" time|strong="G4218" you|strong="G3739" lived|strong="G4043" in|strong="G1722" sin, following|strong="G2596" the|strong="G1722" ways of|strong="G5207" the|strong="G1722" world|strong="G2889", in|strong="G1722" subjection to|strong="G2596" the|strong="G1722" Ruler of|strong="G5207" the|strong="G1722" powers|strong="G1849" of|strong="G5207" the|strong="G1722" air – the|strong="G1722" Spirit|strong="G4151" who|strong="G3739" is|strong="G3588" still at|strong="G1722" work|strong="G1754" among|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" disobedient.
3 And|strong="G2532" it|strong="G2532" was|strong="G1510" among|strong="G1722" them|strong="G3588" that|strong="G3739" we|strong="G2249" all|strong="G3956" once|strong="G4218" lived|strong="G1510" our|strong="G2532" lives, indulging|strong="G4160" the|strong="G1722" cravings of|strong="G2532" our|strong="G2532" earthly|strong="G4561" nature|strong="G5449", and|strong="G2532" carrying out|strong="G2532" the|strong="G1722" desires|strong="G1939" prompted by|strong="G1722" that|strong="G3739" earthly|strong="G4561" nature|strong="G5449" and|strong="G2532" by|strong="G1722" our|strong="G2532" own thoughts|strong="G1271". Our|strong="G2532" nature|strong="G5449" exposed us|strong="G4160" to|strong="G2532" the|strong="G1722" divine wrath|strong="G3709", like|strong="G5613" the|strong="G1722" rest|strong="G3062" of|strong="G2532" humanity|strong="G4561".
4 Yet|strong="G1161" God|strong="G2316", in|strong="G1722" his|strong="G1223" abundant|strong="G4183" compassion|strong="G1656", and|strong="G1161" because|strong="G1223" of|strong="G1223" the|strong="G1722" great|strong="G4183" love with|strong="G1722" which|strong="G3739" he|strong="G1161" loved us|strong="G2249",
5 even|strong="G2532" though|strong="G2532" we|strong="G2249" were|strong="G1510" dead|strong="G3498" because|strong="G2532" of|strong="G2532" our|strong="G2532" offences|strong="G3900", gave|strong="G2532" life to|strong="G2532" us|strong="G2249" in|strong="G2532" giving life to|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" Christ|strong="G5547". (By|strong="G2532" God|strong="G2532"’s loving kindness you|strong="G1510" have|strong="G2532" been|strong="G1510" saved|strong="G4982".)
6 And|strong="G2532", through|strong="G1722" our|strong="G2424" union with|strong="G1722" Christ|strong="G5547" Jesus|strong="G2424", God|strong="G2532" raised|strong="G4891" us|strong="G1722" with|strong="G1722" him|strong="G3588", and|strong="G2532" caused us|strong="G1722" to|strong="G2532" sit with|strong="G1722" him|strong="G3588" on|strong="G1722" high|strong="G2532",
7 in|strong="G1722" order|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443", by|strong="G1722" his|strong="G1909" goodness|strong="G5544" to|strong="G2443" us|strong="G2249" in|strong="G1722" Christ|strong="G5547" Jesus|strong="G2424", he|strong="G3588" might|strong="G5547" display in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" ages to|strong="G2443" come|strong="G1904" the|strong="G1722" boundless wealth|strong="G4149" of|strong="G5485" his|strong="G1909" loving kindness|strong="G5544".
8 For|strong="G1063" it|strong="G2532" is|strong="G1510" by|strong="G1223" God|strong="G2316"’s loving kindness that|strong="G3588" you|strong="G5210" have|strong="G2532" been|strong="G1510" saved|strong="G4982", through|strong="G1223" your|strong="G1223" faith|strong="G4102". It|strong="G2532" is|strong="G1510" not|strong="G3756" due to|strong="G2532" yourselves|strong="G4771"; the|strong="G2532" gift|strong="G1435" is|strong="G1510" God|strong="G2316"’s.
9 It|strong="G2443" is|strong="G5100" not|strong="G3756" due to|strong="G2443" obedience to|strong="G2443" Law, so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" no|strong="G3756" one|strong="G5100" can boast|strong="G2744".
10 For|strong="G1063" we|strong="G3739" are|strong="G1510" God|strong="G2316"’s handiwork, created|strong="G2936", by|strong="G1722" our|strong="G2316" union with|strong="G1722" Christ|strong="G5547" Jesus|strong="G2424", for|strong="G1063" the|strong="G1722" good|strong="G3588" actions|strong="G2041" in|strong="G1722" doing|strong="G2041" which|strong="G3739" God|strong="G2316" had|strong="G2424" pre-arranged that|strong="G2443" we|strong="G3739" should|strong="G2316" spend our|strong="G2316" lives.
11 Remember|strong="G3421", therefore|strong="G1352", that|strong="G3754" you|strong="G5210" were|strong="G3588" once|strong="G4218" Gentiles|strong="G1484" yourselves|strong="G4771", as|strong="G1722" your|strong="G1722" bodies showed; you|strong="G5210" were|strong="G3588" called|strong="G3004" “the|strong="G1722" Uncircumcised” by|strong="G1722" those|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3588" were|strong="G3588" called|strong="G3004" “the|strong="G1722" Circumcised|strong="G4061"” – circumcised|strong="G4061" only by|strong="G1722" human|strong="G4561" hands|strong="G5499"!
12 Remember|strong="G2192" that|strong="G3754" you|strong="G3754" were|strong="G1510" at|strong="G1722" that|strong="G3754" time|strong="G2540" far|strong="G3588" from|strong="G2532" Christ|strong="G5547"; you|strong="G3754" were|strong="G1510" shut out|strong="G2532" from|strong="G2532" the|strong="G1722" citizenship|strong="G4174" of|strong="G2532" Israel|strong="G2474"; you|strong="G3754" were|strong="G1510" strangers|strong="G3581" to|strong="G2532" the|strong="G1722" covenants|strong="G1242" founded on|strong="G1722" God|strong="G2532"’s|strong="G2192" promise|strong="G1860"; you|strong="G3754" were|strong="G1510" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" world|strong="G2889" without|strong="G5565" hope|strong="G1680" and|strong="G2532" without|strong="G5565" God|strong="G2532".
13 But|strong="G1161" now|strong="G1161", through|strong="G1722" your|strong="G1722" union with|strong="G1722" Christ|strong="G5547" Jesus|strong="G2424", you|strong="G5210" who|strong="G3588" once|strong="G4218" were|strong="G1510" far|strong="G3112" off|strong="G3112" have|strong="G1510", by|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" shedding of|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" blood of|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" Christ|strong="G5547", been|strong="G1510" brought|strong="G1096" near|strong="G1451".
14 He|strong="G2532" it|strong="G2532" is|strong="G1510" who|strong="G3588" is|strong="G1510" our|strong="G2532" peace|strong="G1515". He|strong="G2532" made|strong="G4160" the|strong="G1722" two divisions of|strong="G2532" humanity|strong="G4561" one|strong="G1520", broke|strong="G3089" down|strong="G3089" the|strong="G1722" barrier|strong="G5418" that|strong="G3588" separated them|strong="G3588",
15 and|strong="G4561" in|strong="G1722" his|strong="G1438" human|strong="G4561" nature put|strong="G4160" an|strong="G1519" end|strong="G1519" to|strong="G1519" the|strong="G1722" cause|strong="G4160" of|strong="G3551" enmity|strong="G2189" between|strong="G1722" them|strong="G3588" – the|strong="G1722" Law|strong="G3551" with|strong="G1722" its injunctions and|strong="G4561" ordinances|strong="G1378" – in|strong="G1722" order|strong="G2443" to|strong="G1519" create|strong="G2936", through|strong="G1722" union with|strong="G1722" himself|strong="G1438", from|strong="G1515" Jew and|strong="G4561" Gentile, one|strong="G1520" new|strong="G2537" humanity|strong="G4561" and|strong="G4561" so|strong="G2443" make|strong="G4160" peace|strong="G1515".
16 And|strong="G2532" when|strong="G2532", on|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" cross|strong="G4716", he|strong="G2532" had|strong="G2532" destroyed their|strong="G2532" mutual enmity|strong="G2189", he|strong="G2532" sought by|strong="G1223" means|strong="G1223" of|strong="G1223" his|strong="G1223" cross|strong="G4716" to|strong="G2532" reconcile them|strong="G3588" both|strong="G2532" to|strong="G2532" God|strong="G2316", united in|strong="G1722" one|strong="G1520" body|strong="G4983".

18 for|strong="G3754" it|strong="G3754" is|strong="G3588" through|strong="G1223" him|strong="G3588" that|strong="G3754" we|strong="G3754", the|strong="G1722" Jews and|strong="G3962" the|strong="G1722" Gentiles, united in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" one|strong="G1520" Spirit|strong="G4151", are|strong="G3588" now|strong="G1722" able|strong="G2192" to|strong="G4314" approach the|strong="G1722" Father|strong="G3962".
19 It|strong="G2532" follows, then|strong="G3767", that|strong="G3588" you|strong="G1510" are|strong="G1510" no|strong="G3765" longer|strong="G3765" strangers|strong="G3581" and|strong="G2532" foreigners|strong="G3941", but|strong="G2532" are|strong="G1510" fellow|strong="G4847" citizens|strong="G4847" with|strong="G2532" Christ’s people|strong="G1510" and|strong="G2532" members of|strong="G2316" God|strong="G2316"’s household|strong="G3609".
20 You|strong="G1510" have|strong="G2532" been|strong="G1510" built|strong="G2026" up|strong="G2026" on|strong="G1909" the|strong="G2532" foundation|strong="G2310" laid|strong="G2532" by|strong="G1909" the|strong="G2532" apostles and|strong="G2532" prophets|strong="G4396", Christ|strong="G5547" Jesus|strong="G2424" himself being|strong="G1510" the|strong="G2532" cornerstone.
21 United in|strong="G1722" him|strong="G3739", every|strong="G3956" part of|strong="G2962" the|strong="G1722" building|strong="G3619", closely joined together|strong="G4883", will|strong="G3739" grow into|strong="G1519" a|strong="G1519" temple|strong="G3485", consecrated by|strong="G1722" its|strong="G3956" union with|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" Lord|strong="G2962".
22 And|strong="G2532", through|strong="G1722" union in|strong="G1722" him|strong="G3588", you|strong="G5210" also|strong="G2532" are|strong="G3588" being|strong="G2532" built|strong="G4925" up|strong="G1519" together|strong="G4925", to|strong="G1519" be|strong="G2532" a|strong="G2532" place|strong="G1722" where|strong="G3739" God|strong="G2316" lives through|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" Spirit|strong="G4151".
