Treat the|strong="G5613" young|strong="G3501" men|strong="G3501" as|strong="G5613" brothers,
2 the|strong="G1722" older|strong="G4245" women|strong="G4245" as|strong="G5613" mothers|strong="G3384", and|strong="G3384" the|strong="G1722" younger|strong="G3501" women|strong="G4245" as|strong="G5613" sisters – with|strong="G1722" all|strong="G3956" purity.
3 Show consideration for widows|strong="G5503" – I mean those|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3588" are|strong="G3588" really|strong="G3689" widowed.
4 But|strong="G1161", if|strong="G1487" a|strong="G2192" widow|strong="G5503" has|strong="G2192" children|strong="G5043" or|strong="G2228" grandchildren|strong="G1549", they|strong="G2532" should|strong="G5100" learn|strong="G3129" to|strong="G2532" show|strong="G2192" proper|strong="G2398" regard|strong="G2192" for|strong="G1063" the|strong="G2532" members of|strong="G2316" their|strong="G2532" own|strong="G2398" family|strong="G3624" first|strong="G4412", and|strong="G2532" to|strong="G2532" make|strong="G2532" some|strong="G5100" return to|strong="G2532" their|strong="G2532" parents|strong="G4269"; for|strong="G1063" that|strong="G3588" is|strong="G1510" pleasing in|strong="G2532" God|strong="G2316"’s|strong="G2192" sight|strong="G1799".
5 As|strong="G1161" for|strong="G1909" the|strong="G2532" woman who|strong="G3588" is|strong="G3588" really|strong="G3689" widowed and|strong="G2532" left|strong="G3443" quite alone|strong="G3443", her|strong="G3588" hopes|strong="G1679" are|strong="G3588" fixed|strong="G1679" on|strong="G1909" God|strong="G2316", and|strong="G2532" she|strong="G2532" devotes herself to|strong="G2532" prayers|strong="G4335" and|strong="G2532" supplications|strong="G1162" night|strong="G3571" and|strong="G2532" day|strong="G2250".
6 But|strong="G1161" the|strong="G1161" life|strong="G2198" of|strong="G3588" a|strong="G1161" widow who|strong="G3588" is|strong="G3588" devoted to|strong="G1161" pleasure|strong="G4684" is|strong="G3588" a|strong="G1161" living|strong="G2198" death.
7 Those|strong="G3778" are|strong="G1510" the|strong="G2532" points you|strong="G1510" should|strong="G2532" teach, so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" there|strong="G2532" may|strong="G2532" be|strong="G1510" no|strong="G2532" call|strong="G2532" for|strong="G2532" your|strong="G2532" censure.
8 Anyone|strong="G5100" who|strong="G3588" fails to|strong="G2532" provide|strong="G4306" for|strong="G1161" their|strong="G2532" own|strong="G2398" relatives, and|strong="G2532" especially|strong="G3122" for|strong="G1161" those|strong="G3588" under|strong="G3756" their|strong="G2532" own|strong="G2398" roof, has|strong="G4102" disowned the|strong="G2532" faith|strong="G4102", and|strong="G2532" is|strong="G1510" worse|strong="G5501" than|strong="G2532" an|strong="G2532" unbeliever.

11 But|strong="G1161" you|strong="G3752" should|strong="G3588" exclude the|strong="G1161" younger|strong="G3501" widows|strong="G5503" from|strong="G3588" the|strong="G1161" list; for|strong="G1063", when|strong="G3752" they|strong="G1161" grow restive under the|strong="G1161" yoke of|strong="G3588" the|strong="G1161" Christ|strong="G5547", they|strong="G1161" want|strong="G2309" to|strong="G2309" marry|strong="G1060",
12 and|strong="G4102" so|strong="G3754" they|strong="G3588" bring condemnation|strong="G2917" on|strong="G4102" themselves for|strong="G3754" having|strong="G2192" broken their|strong="G3588" previous|strong="G4413" promise.
13 And|strong="G2532" not|strong="G3756" only|strong="G3440" that|strong="G3588", but|strong="G1161" they|strong="G2532" learn|strong="G3129" to|strong="G2532" be|strong="G2532" idle as|strong="G1161" they|strong="G2532" go|strong="G2532" about|strong="G4022" from|strong="G2532" house|strong="G3614" to|strong="G2532" house|strong="G3614". Nor|strong="G2532" are|strong="G3588" they|strong="G2532" merely|strong="G3441" idle, but|strong="G1161" they|strong="G2532" also|strong="G2532" become|strong="G1161" gossips|strong="G5397" and|strong="G2532" busybodies|strong="G4021", and|strong="G2532" talk|strong="G2980" of|strong="G2532" what|strong="G3588" they|strong="G2532" ought|strong="G1163" not|strong="G3756".
14 Therefore|strong="G3767" I|strong="G3767" advise young|strong="G3501" widows to|strong="G1325" marry|strong="G1060", bear|strong="G5041" children|strong="G5041", and|strong="G3767" attend to|strong="G1325" their|strong="G3588" homes, and|strong="G3767" so|strong="G3767" avoid giving|strong="G1325" the|strong="G3588" enemy an|strong="G1325" opportunity for|strong="G3367" scandal.
15 There|strong="G1063" are|strong="G3588" some|strong="G5100" who|strong="G3588" have|strong="G5100" already|strong="G2235" left us, to|strong="G5100" follow|strong="G3694" Satan|strong="G4567".
16 Any|strong="G5100" Christian woman|strong="G4103", who|strong="G3588" has|strong="G2192" relatives who|strong="G3588" are|strong="G3588" widows|strong="G5503", ought|strong="G5100" to|strong="G2443" relieve|strong="G1884" them|strong="G3588" and|strong="G2532" not|strong="G3361" allow them|strong="G3588" to|strong="G2443" become|strong="G3361" a|strong="G2192" burden to|strong="G2443" the|strong="G2532" church|strong="G1577", so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" the|strong="G2532" church|strong="G1577" may|strong="G2532" relieve|strong="G1884" those|strong="G3588" widows|strong="G5503" who|strong="G3588" are|strong="G3588" really|strong="G3689" widowed.
17 Those|strong="G3588" church elders|strong="G4245" who|strong="G3588" fill|strong="G2532" their|strong="G2532" office well|strong="G2573" should|strong="G3588" be|strong="G2532" held deserving of|strong="G3056" especial consideration, particularly those|strong="G3588" whose|strong="G3588" work|strong="G2872" lies in|strong="G1722" preaching|strong="G3056" and|strong="G2532" teaching|strong="G1319".
18 The|strong="G2532" words|strong="G2532" of|strong="G2532" scripture|strong="G1124" are|strong="G3588" –
19 Do|strong="G3361" not|strong="G3361" entertain a|strong="G1909" charge|strong="G1909" against|strong="G2596" an|strong="G2228" church elder|strong="G4245", unless|strong="G1487" it|strong="G1487" is|strong="G2596" supported by|strong="G2596" two|strong="G1417" or|strong="G2228" three|strong="G5140" witnesses|strong="G3144";
20 but|strong="G2532" rebuke|strong="G1651" offenders publicly, so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" others|strong="G3062" may|strong="G2532" take|strong="G2532" warning.

22 Never|strong="G3367" ordain anyone|strong="G3367" hastily|strong="G5030", and|strong="G5495" take no|strong="G3367" part in|strong="G5083" the|strong="G5083" wrongdoing of|strong="G5495" others. Keep|strong="G5083" your|strong="G5083" life pure.
23 Do|strong="G2532" not|strong="G3371" continue|strong="G2532" to|strong="G2532" drink|strong="G5202" water|strong="G5202" only|strong="G2532", but|strong="G2532" take|strong="G2532" a|strong="G2532" little|strong="G3641" wine|strong="G3631" because|strong="G1223" of|strong="G1223" the|strong="G2532" weakness of|strong="G1223" your|strong="G1223" stomach|strong="G4751", and|strong="G2532" your|strong="G1223" frequent|strong="G4437" ailments.

25 In|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" same|strong="G5615" way|strong="G5615" noble deeds|strong="G2041" become|strong="G2192" conspicuous, and|strong="G2532" those|strong="G3588" which|strong="G3588" are|strong="G3588" otherwise cannot|strong="G1410" be|strong="G2532" concealed|strong="G2928".
