Does not wisdom call out?
⌞Wisdom⌟ takes its stand on high ground,
near the gates to the city.
“I am calling to all of you,
You gullible people, learn how to be sensible.
Listen! I am speaking about noble things,
My mouth expresses the truth,
Everything I say is fair,
All of it is clear to a person who has understanding
Take my discipline, not silver,
because wisdom is better than jewels.
“I, Wisdom, live with insight,
To fear the Lord is to hate evil.
Advice and priceless wisdom are mine.
Through me kings reign,
Through me princes rule,
I love those who love me.
I have riches and honor,
What I produce is better than gold, pure gold.
I walk in the way of righteousness, on the paths of justice,
to give an inheritance to those who love me
“The Lord already possessed me long ago,
I was appointed from everlasting
I was born
I was born
when he had not yet made land or fields
“When he set up the heavens, I was there.
when he established the skies above,
when he set a limit for the sea
I was beside him as a master craftsman.
found joy in his inhabited world, and delighted in the human race.
“Now, sons, listen to me.
Listen to discipline, and become wise.
Blessed is the person who listens to me,
Whoever finds me finds life
Whoever sins against me harms himself.
