1 We|strong="G2249" have|strong="G2192" been|strong="G2192" made right with|strong="G4314" God|strong="G2316" because|strong="G1223" of|strong="G1537" our|strong="G2316" faith|strong="G4102". So|strong="G3767" we|strong="G2249" have|strong="G2192" peace|strong="G1515" with|strong="G4314" God|strong="G2316" through|strong="G1223" our|strong="G2316" Lord|strong="G2962" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547".
2 Through|strong="G1223" our|strong="G2316" faith|strong="G4102", Christ has|strong="G2192" brought|strong="G1519" us|strong="G1519" into|strong="G1519" that|strong="G3739" blessing|strong="G5485" of|strong="G1223" God’s|strong="G2316" grace|strong="G5485" that|strong="G3739" we|strong="G3739" now|strong="G2532" enjoy. And|strong="G2532" we|strong="G3739" are|strong="G3778" very|strong="G3778" happy because|strong="G1223" of|strong="G1223" the|strong="G3588" hope|strong="G1680" we|strong="G3739" have|strong="G2192" of|strong="G1223" sharing God’s|strong="G2316" glory|strong="G1391".
3 And|strong="G2532" we|strong="G2532" are|strong="G3588" also|strong="G2532" happy with|strong="G1722" the|strong="G3588" troubles|strong="G2347" we|strong="G2532" have|strong="G2532". Why are|strong="G3588" we|strong="G2532" happy with|strong="G1722" troubles|strong="G2347"? Because|strong="G3754" we|strong="G2532" know|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754" these|strong="G3748" troubles|strong="G2347" make|strong="G3756" us|strong="G1722" more|strong="G3756" patient|strong="G5281".
4 And|strong="G1161" this|strong="G3588" patience|strong="G5281" is|strong="G3588" proof|strong="G1382" that|strong="G1161" we|strong="G1161" are|strong="G3588" strong. And|strong="G1161" this|strong="G3588" proof|strong="G1382" gives us hope|strong="G1680".
5 And|strong="G1161" this|strong="G3588" hope|strong="G1680" will|strong="G2316" never|strong="G3756" disappoint|strong="G2617" us|strong="G1325". We|strong="G2249" know this|strong="G3588" because|strong="G3754" God|strong="G2316" has|strong="G2316" poured|strong="G1325" out|strong="G1325" his|strong="G1223" love|strong="G0026" to|strong="G1722" fill our|strong="G2316" hearts|strong="G2588" through|strong="G1223" the|strong="G3588" Holy|strong="G0040" Spirit|strong="G4151" he|strong="G3754" gave|strong="G1325" us|strong="G1325".
6 Christ|strong="G5547" died|strong="G0599" for|strong="G1063" us when|strong="G1510" we|strong="G2249" were|strong="G1510" unable to|strong="G2596" help ourselves|strong="G2249". We|strong="G2249" were|strong="G1510" living against|strong="G2596" God, but|strong="G1063" at|strong="G2596" just|strong="G2596" the|strong="G2596" right|strong="G2540" time|strong="G2540" Christ|strong="G5547" died|strong="G0599" for|strong="G1063" us.
7 Very|strong="G2532" few|strong="G5100" people|strong="G5100" will|strong="G5100" die|strong="G0599" to|strong="G2532" save the|strong="G3588" life of|strong="G5100" someone|strong="G5100" else|strong="G2532", even|strong="G2532" if|strong="G2532" it|strong="G2532" is|strong="G0018" for|strong="G1063" a|strong="G2532" good|strong="G0018" person|strong="G5100". Someone|strong="G5100" might|strong="G2532" be|strong="G2532" willing to|strong="G2532" die|strong="G0599" for|strong="G1063" an|strong="G2532" especially good|strong="G0018" person|strong="G5100".
8 But|strong="G1161" Christ|strong="G5547" died|strong="G0599" for|strong="G1519" us|strong="G1519" while|strong="G1510" we|strong="G2249" were|strong="G1510" still|strong="G2089" sinners|strong="G0268", and|strong="G1161" by|strong="G1438" this|strong="G3588" God|strong="G2316" showed how|strong="G3754" much he|strong="G3754" loves|strong="G0026" us|strong="G1519".
9 We|strong="G3568" have|strong="G3588" been|strong="G3568" made|strong="G4982" right with|strong="G1722" God|strong="G0846" by|strong="G1722" the|strong="G3588" blood|strong="G0129" sacrifice of|strong="G0575" Christ|strong="G0846". So|strong="G3767" through|strong="G1223" Christ|strong="G0846" we|strong="G3568" will|strong="G4183" surely be|strong="G3123" saved|strong="G4982" from|strong="G0575" God’s|strong="G0846" anger|strong="G3709".
10 I|strong="G1487" mean|strong="G1510" that|strong="G0846" while|strong="G1722" we|strong="G1487" were|strong="G1510" God’s|strong="G2316" enemies|strong="G2190", he|strong="G0846" made|strong="G4982" friends with|strong="G1722" us|strong="G1722" through|strong="G1223" his|strong="G0846" Son’s death|strong="G2288". And|strong="G2316" the|strong="G3588" fact that|strong="G0846" we|strong="G1487" are|strong="G1510" now|strong="G1510" God’s|strong="G2316" friends makes it|strong="G0846" even|strong="G3123" more|strong="G3123" certain that|strong="G0846" he|strong="G0846" will|strong="G2316" save|strong="G4982" us|strong="G1722" through|strong="G1223" his|strong="G0846" Son’s life|strong="G2222".
11 And|strong="G2532" not|strong="G3756" only|strong="G3440" will|strong="G2316" we|strong="G2249" be|strong="G2532" saved, but|strong="G1161" we|strong="G2249" also|strong="G2532" rejoice|strong="G2744" right now|strong="G1161" in|strong="G1722" what|strong="G3739" God|strong="G2316" has|strong="G2316" done for|strong="G1223" us|strong="G1722" through|strong="G1223" our|strong="G2316" Lord|strong="G2962" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547". It|strong="G1223" is|strong="G2316" because|strong="G1223" of|strong="G1223" Jesus|strong="G2424" that|strong="G3739" we|strong="G2249" are|strong="G3739" now|strong="G1161" God’s|strong="G2316" friends.
12 Sin|strong="G0266" came|strong="G1525" into|strong="G1519" the|strong="G3956" world|strong="G2889" because|strong="G1223" of|strong="G1223" what|strong="G3739" one|strong="G1520" man|strong="G0444" did|strong="G1525". And|strong="G2532" with|strong="G1909" sin|strong="G0266" came|strong="G1525" death|strong="G2288". So|strong="G2532" this|strong="G3778" is|strong="G3778" why|strong="G1223" all|strong="G3956" people|strong="G0444" must|strong="G1525" die|strong="G2288"—because|strong="G1223" all|strong="G3956" people|strong="G0444" have|strong="G2532" sinned|strong="G0264".
13 Sin|strong="G0266" was|strong="G1510" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" world|strong="G2889" before|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" Law|strong="G3551" of|strong="G3551" Moses. But|strong="G1161" God does|strong="G1510" not|strong="G3756" consider people|strong="G1510" guilty of|strong="G3551" sin|strong="G0266" if there|strong="G1510" is|strong="G1510" no|strong="G3756" law|strong="G3551".
14 But|strong="G0235" from|strong="G0575" the|strong="G3588" time|strong="G1909" of|strong="G0575" Adam|strong="G0076" to|strong="G1909" the|strong="G3588" time|strong="G1909" of|strong="G0575" Moses|strong="G3475", everyone|strong="G3739" had|strong="G1510" to|strong="G1909" die|strong="G2288". Adam|strong="G0076" died|strong="G2288" because|strong="G0575" he|strong="G2532" sinned|strong="G0264" by|strong="G0575" not|strong="G3361" obeying God’s command. But|strong="G0235" even|strong="G2532" those|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3739" did|strong="G1510" not|strong="G3361" sin|strong="G0264" that|strong="G3739" same|strong="G3739" way|strong="G3739" had|strong="G1510" to|strong="G1909" die|strong="G2288".
15 But|strong="G0235" God’s|strong="G2316" free|strong="G5486" gift|strong="G1431" is|strong="G2316" not|strong="G3756" like|strong="G5613" Adam’s sin|strong="G3900". Many|strong="G4183" people|strong="G0444" died|strong="G0599" because|strong="G1063" of|strong="G2316" the|strong="G3588" sin|strong="G3900" of|strong="G2316" that|strong="G2316" one|strong="G1520" man|strong="G0444". But|strong="G0235" the|strong="G3588" grace|strong="G5485" that|strong="G2316" people|strong="G0444" received from|strong="G1722" God|strong="G2316" was|strong="G2424" much|strong="G4183" greater|strong="G4183". Many|strong="G4183" received God’s|strong="G2316" gift|strong="G1431" of|strong="G2316" life by|strong="G1722" the|strong="G3588" grace|strong="G5485" of|strong="G2316" this|strong="G3779" other man|strong="G0444", Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547".
16 After|strong="G1161" Adam sinned|strong="G0264" once, he|strong="G2532" was|strong="G3588" judged guilty. But|strong="G1161" the|strong="G3588" gift|strong="G5486" of|strong="G1537" God|strong="G4183" is|strong="G3588" different. His|strong="G1223" free|strong="G5486" gift|strong="G5486" came|strong="G1223" after|strong="G1161" many|strong="G4183" sins|strong="G0264", and|strong="G2532" it|strong="G1223" makes people|strong="G4183" right|strong="G1519" with|strong="G1537" him|strong="G2532".
17 One|strong="G1520" man|strong="G1520" sinned, and|strong="G2532" so|strong="G2532" death|strong="G2288" ruled all|strong="G3588" people|strong="G4183" because|strong="G1223" of|strong="G1223" that|strong="G1722" one|strong="G1520" man|strong="G1520". But|strong="G2532" now|strong="G2532" some|strong="G3588" people|strong="G4183" accept|strong="G2983" God’s full|strong="G4183" grace|strong="G5485" and|strong="G2532" his|strong="G1223" great|strong="G4183" gift|strong="G1431" of|strong="G1223" being made right|strong="G1343". Surely they|strong="G2532" will|strong="G4183" have|strong="G2532" true life|strong="G2222" and|strong="G2532" rule through|strong="G1223" the|strong="G3588" one|strong="G1520" man|strong="G1520", Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547".
18 So|strong="G3767" that|strong="G3956" one|strong="G1520" sin|strong="G3900" of|strong="G1223" Adam brought|strong="G1519" the|strong="G3956" punishment of|strong="G1223" death to|strong="G1519" all|strong="G3956" people|strong="G0444". But|strong="G2532" in|strong="G1519" the|strong="G3956" same|strong="G3779" way|strong="G3779", Christ|strong="G1520" did|strong="G3767" something so|strong="G3767" good that|strong="G3956" it|strong="G1223" makes all|strong="G3956" people|strong="G0444" right|strong="G3779" with|strong="G1223" God. And|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3956" brings|strong="G1519" them|strong="G1223" true|strong="G3779" life|strong="G2222".
19 One|strong="G1520" man|strong="G0444" disobeyed God|strong="G4183" and|strong="G2532" many|strong="G4183" became sinners|strong="G0268". But|strong="G2532" in|strong="G2532" the|strong="G3588" same|strong="G3779" way|strong="G3779", one|strong="G1520" man|strong="G0444" obeyed God|strong="G4183" and|strong="G2532" many|strong="G4183" will|strong="G0444" be|strong="G2532" made|strong="G2525" right|strong="G1342".
20 The|strong="G3588" law|strong="G3551" was|strong="G3588" brought in|strong="G1161" so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" more|strong="G5248" people|strong="G3588" would|strong="G3900" sin|strong="G0266" the|strong="G3588" way Adam did|strong="G4121". But|strong="G1161" where|strong="G3757" sin|strong="G0266" increased|strong="G4121", there|strong="G3757" was|strong="G3588" even|strong="G1161" more|strong="G5248" of|strong="G5485" God’s grace|strong="G5485".
21 Sin|strong="G0266" once used death|strong="G2288" to|strong="G1519" rule us|strong="G1519". But|strong="G2532" God gave us|strong="G1519" more of|strong="G1223" his|strong="G1223" grace|strong="G5485" so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" grace|strong="G5485" could rule by|strong="G1722" making us|strong="G1519" right|strong="G3779" with|strong="G1722" him|strong="G2532". And|strong="G2532" this|strong="G3779" brings|strong="G1519" us|strong="G1519" eternal|strong="G0166" life|strong="G2222" through|strong="G1223" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547" our|strong="G2424" Lord|strong="G2962".
