6 So|strong="G2532" the|strong="G3588" apostles went|strong="G1831" out|strong="G1831". They|strong="G2532" traveled through|strong="G1330" all|strong="G3588" the|strong="G3588" towns. They|strong="G2532" told the|strong="G3588" Good|strong="G2097" News|strong="G2097" and|strong="G2532" healed|strong="G2323" people|strong="G3588" everywhere|strong="G3837".
7 Herod|strong="G2264" the|strong="G3956" ruler heard|strong="G0191" about|strong="G3588" all|strong="G3956" these|strong="G3748" things|strong="G3956" that|strong="G3754" were|strong="G3956" happening|strong="G1096". He|strong="G2532" was|strong="G3588" confused because|strong="G3754" some|strong="G5100" people|strong="G3956" said|strong="G3004", “John|strong="G2491" the|strong="G3956" Baptizer has|strong="G1096" risen|strong="G1453" from|strong="G1537" death|strong="G3498".”
8 Others|strong="G0243" said, “Elijah|strong="G2243" has|strong="G3748" come to|strong="G5100" us.” And|strong="G1161" some|strong="G5100" others|strong="G0243" said, “One|strong="G5100" of|strong="G5100" the|strong="G3588" prophets|strong="G4396" from|strong="G5259" long|strong="G0744" ago|strong="G0744" has|strong="G3748" risen|strong="G0450" from|strong="G5259" death.”
9 Herod|strong="G2264" said|strong="G3004", “I|strong="G1473" cut off John’s|strong="G2491" head. So|strong="G2532" who|strong="G3739" is|strong="G1510" this|strong="G3778" man|strong="G3778" I|strong="G1473" hear|strong="G0191" these|strong="G3778" things|strong="G3778" about|strong="G4012"?” Herod|strong="G2264" continued trying|strong="G2212" to|strong="G3004" see|strong="G3708" Jesus|strong="G0846".
10 When|strong="G2532" the|strong="G3588" apostles|strong="G0652" came back|strong="G5290", they|strong="G0846" told Jesus|strong="G0846" what|strong="G3588" they|strong="G0846" had|strong="G3588" done|strong="G4160" on|strong="G1519" their|strong="G0846" trip. Then|strong="G2532" he|strong="G2532" took|strong="G3880" them|strong="G0846" away|strong="G5298" to|strong="G1519" a|strong="G4160" town|strong="G4172" called|strong="G2564" Bethsaida|strong="G0966". There|strong="G2596", he|strong="G2532" and|strong="G2532" his|strong="G0846" apostles|strong="G0652" could be|strong="G2532" alone|strong="G0846" together|strong="G2532".
11 But|strong="G1161" the|strong="G3588" people|strong="G3793" learned|strong="G1097" where Jesus|strong="G0846" went and|strong="G2532" followed|strong="G0190" him|strong="G0846". He|strong="G2532" welcomed|strong="G0588" them|strong="G0846" and|strong="G2532" talked|strong="G2980" with|strong="G2316" them|strong="G0846" about|strong="G4012" God’s|strong="G2316" kingdom|strong="G0932". He|strong="G2532" healed|strong="G2390" the|strong="G3588" people|strong="G3793" who|strong="G3588" were|strong="G3793" sick.
12 Late in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G3588" afternoon, the|strong="G3588" twelve|strong="G1427" apostles came|strong="G4334" to|strong="G1519" Jesus|strong="G0846" and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G3004", “No one|strong="G3588" lives in|strong="G1722" this|strong="G3588" place|strong="G5117". Send|strong="G0630" the|strong="G3588" people|strong="G3793" away|strong="G0630". They|strong="G0846" need to|strong="G1519" find|strong="G2147" food and|strong="G2532" places|strong="G5117" to|strong="G1519" sleep in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G3588" farms|strong="G0068" and|strong="G2532" towns around|strong="G2945" here|strong="G5602".”

20 Then|strong="G1161" Jesus|strong="G0846" said|strong="G3004" to|strong="G3004" his|strong="G0846" followers, “And|strong="G1161" who|strong="G3588" do|strong="G1510" you|strong="G5210" say|strong="G3004" I|strong="G1473" am|strong="G1510"?”
21 Jesus|strong="G0846" warned|strong="G2008" them|strong="G0846" not|strong="G3367" to|strong="G3004" tell|strong="G3004" anyone|strong="G3367".
22 Then|strong="G2532" Jesus|strong="G3004" said|strong="G3004", “The|strong="G3588" Son|strong="G5207" of|strong="G5207" Man|strong="G0444" must|strong="G1163" suffer|strong="G3958" many|strong="G4183" things|strong="G4183". He|strong="G2532" will|strong="G0444" be|strong="G1163" rejected|strong="G0593" by|strong="G0575" the|strong="G3588" older|strong="G4245" Jewish leaders|strong="G3004", the|strong="G3588" leading priests|strong="G0749", and|strong="G2532" teachers of|strong="G5207" the|strong="G3588" law. And|strong="G2532" he|strong="G2532" will|strong="G0444" be|strong="G1163" killed|strong="G0615". But|strong="G2532" after|strong="G2532" three days|strong="G2250" he|strong="G2532" will|strong="G0444" be|strong="G1163" raised|strong="G1453" from|strong="G0575" death|strong="G0615".”
23 Jesus|strong="G0846" continued to|strong="G4314" say|strong="G3004" to|strong="G4314" all|strong="G3956" of|strong="G2250" them|strong="G0846", “Any|strong="G5100" of|strong="G2250" you|strong="G1487" who|strong="G3588" want|strong="G2309" to|strong="G4314" be|strong="G2532" my|strong="G3956" follower|strong="G3694" must|strong="G3588" stop thinking about|strong="G2596" yourself|strong="G0846" and|strong="G2532" what|strong="G3588" you|strong="G1487" want|strong="G2309". 26 Don’t be|strong="G2532" ashamed|strong="G1870" of|strong="G5207" me|strong="G1473" and|strong="G2532" my|strong="G1699" teaching|strong="G3056". If|strong="G0302" that|strong="G3739" happens, I|strong="G1473" will|strong="G3739" be|strong="G2532" ashamed|strong="G1870" of|strong="G5207" you|strong="G3739" when|strong="G3752" I|strong="G1473" come|strong="G2064" with|strong="G1722" my|strong="G1699" divine greatness and|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3739" of|strong="G5207" the|strong="G3588" Father|strong="G3962" and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G3588" holy|strong="G0040" angels|strong="G0032".
27 Believe me|strong="G3004" when|strong="G1161" I|strong="G3739" say|strong="G3004" that|strong="G3739" some|strong="G5100" of|strong="G0932" you|strong="G5210" people|strong="G1510" standing|strong="G2476" here|strong="G0847" will|strong="G2316" see|strong="G3708" God’s|strong="G2316" kingdom|strong="G0932" before|strong="G2193" you|strong="G5210" die|strong="G2288".”

41 Jesus|strong="G2424" answered|strong="G0611", “You|strong="G5210" people|strong="G1510" today have|strong="G1510" no|strong="G2193" faith. Your|strong="G2532" lives are|strong="G1510" all|strong="G3588" wrong. 43 All|strong="G3956" the|strong="G3956" people|strong="G3956" were|strong="G3101" amazed|strong="G2296" at|strong="G1909" the|strong="G3956" great|strong="G3956" power of|strong="G2316" God|strong="G2316".
44 “Don’t forget what|strong="G3588" I|strong="G3778" will|strong="G3195" tell you|strong="G5210" now: The|strong="G3588" Son|strong="G5207" of|strong="G5207" Man|strong="G0444" will|strong="G3195" soon be|strong="G0444" handed|strong="G3860" over|strong="G3860" to|strong="G1519" the|strong="G3588" control of|strong="G5207" other men|strong="G0444".”
45 But|strong="G1161" the|strong="G3588" followers did|strong="G1510" not|strong="G3361" understand|strong="G0050" what|strong="G3588" he|strong="G2532" meant|strong="G1510". The|strong="G3588" meaning was|strong="G1510" hidden from|strong="G0575" them|strong="G0846" so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" they|strong="G0846" could|strong="G3361" not|strong="G3361" understand|strong="G0050" it|strong="G0846".
