2 Joseph|strong="H3130" commanded|strong="H6680" his|strong="H6680" servants|strong="H5650" to|strong="H3478" prepare his|strong="H6680" father’s|strong="H0001" body. (These servants|strong="H5650" were|strong="H3478" doctors.) The|strong="H0853" doctors prepared Jacob’s body to|strong="H3478" be|strong="H3478" buried. They|strong="H3478" prepared the|strong="H0853" body in|strong="H3478" the|strong="H0853" special way of|strong="H0001" the|strong="H0853" Egyptians.

They|strong="H0834" said|strong="H0559", “Maybe Joseph|strong="H3130" still|strong="H7725" hates us|strong="H7725" for|strong="H3588" what|strong="H0834" we|strong="H3588" did|strong="H0834".”
16 So|strong="H6680" the|strong="H0559" brothers sent|strong="H6680" this message to|strong="H0413" Joseph|strong="H3130": “Before|strong="H6440" your|strong="H6440" father|strong="H0001" died|strong="H4194", he|strong="H0559" told|strong="H0559" us|strong="H0413" to|strong="H0413" give|strong="H6680" you|strong="H6680" a|strong="H6680" message.
17 He|strong="H3588" said|strong="H0559", ‘Tell|strong="H0559" Joseph|strong="H3130" that|strong="H3588" I|strong="H3588" beg|strong="H0577" him|strong="H0413" to|strong="H0413" please|strong="H4994" forgive|strong="H5375" his|strong="H5375" brothers|strong="H0251" for|strong="H3588" the|strong="H0559" bad|strong="H7451" things they|strong="H3588" did|strong="H1580" to|strong="H0413" him|strong="H0413".’ So|strong="H3541" now|strong="H6258" Joseph|strong="H3130", we|strong="H3588" beg|strong="H0577" you|strong="H3588", please|strong="H4994" forgive|strong="H5375" us|strong="H4994" for|strong="H3588" the|strong="H0559" bad|strong="H7451" things we|strong="H3588" did|strong="H1580" to|strong="H0413" you|strong="H3588". We|strong="H3588" are|strong="H0430" the|strong="H0559" servants|strong="H5650" of|strong="H0430" God|strong="H0430", the|strong="H0559" God|strong="H0430" of|strong="H0430" your|strong="H3588" father|strong="H0001".”
18 His|strong="H6440" brothers|strong="H0251" went|strong="H6440" to|strong="H0559" him|strong="H6440" and|strong="H5650" bowed|strong="H5307" down|strong="H5307" in|strong="H5650" front|strong="H6440" of|strong="H6440" him|strong="H6440". They|strong="H0559" said|strong="H0559", “We will|strong="H1571" be|strong="H1571" your|strong="H6440" servants|strong="H5650".”
19 Then|strong="H0559" Joseph|strong="H3130" said|strong="H0559" to|strong="H0413" them|strong="H0413", “Don’t|strong="H0408" be|strong="H0408" afraid|strong="H3372". I|strong="H0589" am|strong="H0589" not|strong="H0408" God|strong="H0430"! I|strong="H0589" have|strong="H0589" no|strong="H0408" right|strong="H8478" to|strong="H0413" punish you|strong="H3588".
20 It|strong="H5921" is|strong="H2088" true that|strong="H3117" you|strong="H0859" planned|strong="H2803" to|strong="H5921" do|strong="H6213" something bad|strong="H7451" to|strong="H5921" me|strong="H5921". But|strong="H0859" really|strong="H2088", God|strong="H0430" was|strong="H0430" planning|strong="H2803" good|strong="H2896" things. 22 Joseph|strong="H3130" continued to|strong="H4714" live|strong="H3427" in|strong="H3427" Egypt|strong="H4714" with|strong="H1004" his|strong="H1931" father’s|strong="H0001" family|strong="H1004". He|strong="H1931" died when|strong="H2421" he|strong="H1931" was|strong="H1931" 110 years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H8141".
23 During Joseph’s|strong="H3130" life Ephraim|strong="H0669" had|strong="H3205" children|strong="H1121" and|strong="H1121" grandchildren|strong="H1121". And|strong="H1121" his|strong="H5921" son|strong="H1121" Manasseh|strong="H4519" had|strong="H3205" a|strong="H3205" son|strong="H1121" named Makir|strong="H4353". Joseph|strong="H3130" lived to|strong="H5921" see|strong="H7200" Makir’s|strong="H4353" children|strong="H1121".
24 When|strong="H0834" Joseph|strong="H3130" was|strong="H0834" near death|strong="H4191", he|strong="H0834" said|strong="H0559" to|strong="H0413" his|strong="H0834" brothers|strong="H0251", “My|strong="H0834" time to|strong="H0413" die|strong="H4191" is|strong="H0834" almost here|strong="H2063". But|strong="H4191" I|strong="H0834" know that|strong="H0834" God|strong="H0430" will|strong="H0430" take|strong="H6485" care|strong="H6485" of|strong="H0776" you|strong="H0834" and|strong="H0430" lead|strong="H0413" you|strong="H0834" out|strong="H4480" of|strong="H0776" this|strong="H2063" country|strong="H0776". 25 Then|strong="H2088" Joseph|strong="H3130" asked|strong="H0559" his|strong="H3478" people|strong="H1121" to|strong="H0559" make a|strong="H5927" promise|strong="H7650". Joseph|strong="H3130" said|strong="H0559", “Promise|strong="H7650" me|strong="H5927" that|strong="H2088" you|strong="H0853" will|strong="H0430" carry|strong="H5927" my|strong="H5927" bones|strong="H6106" with|strong="H0430" you|strong="H0853" when|strong="H1121" God|strong="H0430" leads|strong="H5927" you|strong="H0853" out|strong="H0853" of|strong="H1121" Egypt.”
26 Joseph|strong="H3130" died|strong="H4191" in|strong="H8141" Egypt|strong="H4714" when|strong="H1121" he|strong="H0853" was|strong="H1121" 110 years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121". Doctors prepared his|strong="H4191" body|strong="H4191" for|strong="H4714" burial and|strong="H1121" put|strong="H4191" the|strong="H0853" body|strong="H4191" in|strong="H8141" a|strong="H4714" coffin|strong="H0727" in|strong="H8141" Egypt|strong="H4714".
