2 Some|strong="G3588" slaves|strong="G1398" have|strong="G2192" masters|strong="G1203" who|strong="G3588" are|strong="G1510" believers|strong="G4103", so|strong="G2532" they|strong="G2532" are|strong="G1510" brothers|strong="G0080". Does|strong="G2192" this|strong="G3778" mean|strong="G1510" they|strong="G2532" should|strong="G0080" show|strong="G2706" their|strong="G2532" masters|strong="G1203" any|strong="G2192" less|strong="G3123" respect? They|strong="G2532" will|strong="G2962" not|strong="G3361" accept the|strong="G3588" teaching|strong="G1319" that|strong="G5100" produces a|strong="G1487" life of|strong="G3056" devotion to|strong="G2596" God.
4 They|strong="G3739" are|strong="G3739" proud of|strong="G1537" what|strong="G3739" they|strong="G3739" know|strong="G1987", but|strong="G0235" they|strong="G3739" understand|strong="G1987" nothing|strong="G3367". They|strong="G3739" are|strong="G3739" sick with|strong="G1537" a|strong="G1096" love for|strong="G4012" arguing and|strong="G2532" fighting about|strong="G4012" words|strong="G3055". And|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3739" brings jealousy, quarrels|strong="G2054", insults, and|strong="G2532" evil|strong="G4190" mistrust.
5 They|strong="G2532" are|strong="G1510" always making trouble, because|strong="G1510" they|strong="G2532" are|strong="G1510" people|strong="G0444" whose thinking|strong="G3563" has|strong="G0444" been|strong="G1510" confused. They|strong="G2532" have|strong="G1510" lost their|strong="G2532" understanding|strong="G3563" of|strong="G0444" the|strong="G3588" truth|strong="G0225". They|strong="G2532" think|strong="G3543" that|strong="G0444" devotion to|strong="G2532" God is|strong="G1510" a|strong="G1510" way to|strong="G2532" get rich.
6 Devotion to|strong="G3326" God is|strong="G1510", in|strong="G3326" fact, a|strong="G1510" way for|strong="G1161" people|strong="G1510" to|strong="G3326" be|strong="G1510" very|strong="G3173" rich, but|strong="G1161" only if it|strong="G1161" makes them|strong="G3326" satisfied with|strong="G3326" what|strong="G3588" they|strong="G1161" have|strong="G1510".
7 When|strong="G5100" we|strong="G3754" came into|strong="G1519" the|strong="G3588" world|strong="G2889", we|strong="G3754" brought|strong="G1533" nothing|strong="G3762". And|strong="G3761" when|strong="G5100" we|strong="G3754" die, we|strong="G3754" can|strong="G1410" take|strong="G1627" nothing|strong="G3762" out|strong="G1627".

They|strong="G2532" are|strong="G3588" caught in|strong="G1519" a|strong="G2532" trap|strong="G3803". They|strong="G2532" begin to|strong="G1519" want|strong="G1014" many|strong="G4183" foolish|strong="G0453" things|strong="G4183" that|strong="G3748" will|strong="G0444" hurt them|strong="G0444". 10 The|strong="G3956" love|strong="G5365" of|strong="G0575" money|strong="G5365" causes all|strong="G3956" kinds|strong="G3956" of|strong="G0575" evil|strong="G2556". Some|strong="G5100" people|strong="G3956" have|strong="G1510" turned away|strong="G0575" from|strong="G0575" what|strong="G3739" we|strong="G3739" believe because|strong="G1063" they|strong="G3739" want to|strong="G2532" get more|strong="G4183" and|strong="G2532" more|strong="G4183" money|strong="G5365". But|strong="G2532" they|strong="G3739" have|strong="G1510" caused themselves|strong="G1438" a|strong="G1510" lot of|strong="G0575" pain and|strong="G2532" sorrow.
11 But|strong="G1161" you|strong="G4771" belong to|strong="G3778" God|strong="G2316". So|strong="G1161" you|strong="G4771" should|strong="G2316" stay away|strong="G5343" from|strong="G5343" all those|strong="G3778" things|strong="G3778". Always try to|strong="G3778" do what|strong="G1161" is|strong="G2316" right|strong="G1343", to|strong="G3778" be|strong="G2316" devoted to|strong="G3778" God|strong="G2316", and|strong="G1161" to|strong="G3778" have|strong="G3778" faith|strong="G4102", love|strong="G0026", patience|strong="G5281", and|strong="G1161" gentleness|strong="G4240".
12 We|strong="G3739" have|strong="G2532" to|strong="G1519" fight|strong="G0073" to|strong="G1519" keep our|strong="G2532" faith|strong="G4102". Try as|strong="G1519" hard|strong="G4183" as|strong="G1519" you|strong="G3739" can to|strong="G1519" win that|strong="G3739" fight|strong="G0073". He|strong="G2532" lives|strong="G3611" in|strong="G2532" light|strong="G5457" so|strong="G2532" bright|strong="G5457" that|strong="G3739" people|strong="G0444" cannot|strong="G1410" go near it|strong="G3708". 18 Tell those|strong="G1722" who|strong="G1510" are|strong="G1510" rich|strong="G4147" to|strong="G1722" do|strong="G1510" good|strong="G2570"—to|strong="G1722" be|strong="G1510" rich|strong="G4147" in|strong="G1722" good|strong="G2570" works|strong="G2041". 20 Timothy|strong="G5095", God has|strong="G2532" trusted you|strong="G2532" with|strong="G2532" many things|strong="G3588". Keep|strong="G5442" these|strong="G3588" things|strong="G3588" safe. Stay away from|strong="G2532" people|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3588" talk about|strong="G3588" useless things|strong="G3588" that are|strong="G3588" not|strong="G2532" from|strong="G2532" God and|strong="G2532" who|strong="G3588" argue against you|strong="G2532" with|strong="G2532" a|strong="G2532" “knowledge|strong="G1108"” that is|strong="G3588" not|strong="G2532" knowledge|strong="G1108" at|strong="G3588" all|strong="G3588".
21 Some|strong="G5100" people|strong="G5100" who|strong="G3739" claim|strong="G1861" to|strong="G5100" have|strong="G5100" that|strong="G3739" “knowledge” have|strong="G5100" gone|strong="G0795" completely away|strong="G3326" from|strong="G3588" what|strong="G3739" we|strong="G3739" believe.
