2 You|strong="G3754" remember|strong="G1492" the|strong="G3588" lives you|strong="G3754" lived|strong="G1510" before|strong="G4314" you|strong="G3754" were|strong="G1510" believers. You|strong="G3754" let|strong="G1510" yourselves be|strong="G1510" influenced and|strong="G1484" led|strong="G0071" away|strong="G0520" to|strong="G4314" worship idols|strong="G1497"—things|strong="G3588" that|strong="G3754" have|strong="G1510" no life.
3 So|strong="G2532" I|strong="G2532" tell|strong="G3004" you|strong="G5210" that|strong="G3754" no|strong="G3762" one|strong="G3762" who|strong="G3748" is|strong="G2316" speaking|strong="G2980" with|strong="G1722" the|strong="G2532" help of|strong="G4151" God’s|strong="G2316" Spirit|strong="G4151" says|strong="G3004", “Jesus|strong="G2424" be|strong="G2532" cursed.” And|strong="G2532" no|strong="G3762" one|strong="G3762" can|strong="G1410" say|strong="G3004", “Jesus|strong="G2424" is|strong="G2316" Lord|strong="G2962",” without|strong="G3361" the|strong="G2532" help of|strong="G4151" the|strong="G2532" Holy|strong="G0040" Spirit|strong="G4151".
4 There|strong="G1510" are|strong="G1510" different|strong="G1243" kinds of|strong="G4151" spiritual|strong="G4151" gifts|strong="G5486", but|strong="G1161" they|strong="G0846" are|strong="G1510" all|strong="G3588" from|strong="G3588" the|strong="G3588" same|strong="G0846" Spirit|strong="G4151".
5 There|strong="G1510" are|strong="G1510" different|strong="G1243" ways to|strong="G2532" serve|strong="G1248", but|strong="G2532" we|strong="G2532" serve|strong="G1248" the|strong="G3588" same|strong="G0846" Lord|strong="G2962".
6 And|strong="G2532" there|strong="G1510" are|strong="G1510" different|strong="G1243" ways that|strong="G3956" God|strong="G2316" works|strong="G1754" in|strong="G1722" people|strong="G3956", but|strong="G1161" it|strong="G0846" is|strong="G1510" the|strong="G3956" same|strong="G0846" God|strong="G2316" who|strong="G3588" works|strong="G1754" in|strong="G1722" all|strong="G3956" of|strong="G2316" us|strong="G1722" to|strong="G2532" do|strong="G1510" everything|strong="G3956".
7 Something from|strong="G3588" the|strong="G3588" Spirit|strong="G4151" can|strong="G1325" be seen in|strong="G4314" each|strong="G1538" person|strong="G1538". The|strong="G3588" Spirit|strong="G4151" gives|strong="G1325" this|strong="G3588" to|strong="G4314" each|strong="G1538" one|strong="G1538" to|strong="G4314" help others|strong="G3588".
8 The|strong="G3588" Spirit|strong="G4151" gives|strong="G1325" one|strong="G3739" person|strong="G3056" the|strong="G3588" ability to|strong="G2596" speak with|strong="G1223" wisdom|strong="G4678". 9 The|strong="G3588" same|strong="G0846" Spirit|strong="G4151" gives faith|strong="G4102" to|strong="G1722" one|strong="G1520" person|strong="G2087" and|strong="G1161" to|strong="G1722" another|strong="G0243" he|strong="G0846" gives gifts|strong="G5486" of|strong="G4151" healing|strong="G2386".
10 The|strong="G1161" Spirit|strong="G4151" gives to|strong="G4151" one|strong="G0243" person|strong="G2087" the|strong="G1161" power|strong="G1411" to|strong="G4151" do miracles|strong="G1411", to|strong="G4151" another|strong="G0243" the|strong="G1161" ability|strong="G1411" to|strong="G4151" prophesy, and|strong="G1161" to|strong="G4151" another|strong="G0243" the|strong="G1161" ability|strong="G1411" to|strong="G4151" judge what|strong="G1161" is|strong="G4151" from|strong="G1100" the|strong="G1161" Spirit|strong="G4151" and|strong="G1161" what|strong="G1161" is|strong="G4151" not. The|strong="G1161" Spirit|strong="G4151" gives one|strong="G0243" person|strong="G2087" the|strong="G1161" ability|strong="G1411" to|strong="G4151" speak in|strong="G1161" different|strong="G2087" kinds|strong="G1085" of|strong="G4151" languages|strong="G1100", and|strong="G1161" to|strong="G4151" another|strong="G0243" the|strong="G1161" ability|strong="G1411" to|strong="G4151" interpret those|strong="G1161" languages|strong="G1100".
11 One|strong="G1520" Spirit|strong="G4151", the|strong="G3956" same|strong="G0846" Spirit|strong="G4151", does all|strong="G3956" these|strong="G3778" things|strong="G3778". The|strong="G3956" Spirit|strong="G4151" decides|strong="G1014" what|strong="G3588" to|strong="G2532" give each|strong="G1538" one|strong="G1520".
12 A|strong="G2192" person|strong="G1520" has|strong="G2192" only|strong="G2532" one|strong="G1520" body|strong="G4983", but|strong="G1161" it|strong="G1161" has|strong="G2192" many|strong="G4183" parts|strong="G3196". Yes|strong="G1063", there|strong="G1510" are|strong="G1510" many|strong="G4183" parts|strong="G3196", but|strong="G1161" all|strong="G3956" those|strong="G3588" parts|strong="G3196" are|strong="G1510" still just|strong="G2509" one|strong="G1520" body|strong="G4983". Christ|strong="G5547" is|strong="G1510" like|strong="G3779" that|strong="G3956" too|strong="G2532".
13 Some of|strong="G4151" us|strong="G1519" are|strong="G3956" Jews|strong="G2453" and|strong="G2532" some of|strong="G4151" us|strong="G1519" are|strong="G3956" not|strong="G2532"; some of|strong="G4151" us|strong="G1519" are|strong="G3956" slaves|strong="G1401" and|strong="G2532" some of|strong="G4151" us|strong="G1519" are|strong="G3956" free|strong="G1658". But|strong="G2532" we|strong="G2249" were|strong="G2453" all|strong="G3956" baptized|strong="G0907" to|strong="G1519" become one|strong="G1520" body|strong="G4983" through|strong="G1722" one|strong="G1520" Spirit|strong="G4151". 15 The|strong="G3588" foot|strong="G4228" might say|strong="G3004", “I|strong="G1437" am|strong="G1510" not|strong="G3756" a|strong="G1510" hand|strong="G5495", so|strong="G3778" I|strong="G1437" don’t|strong="G3756" belong|strong="G1510" to|strong="G3004" the|strong="G3588" body|strong="G4983".” But|strong="G4983" saying|strong="G3004" this|strong="G3778" would not|strong="G3756" stop the|strong="G3588" foot|strong="G4228" from|strong="G1537" being|strong="G1510" a|strong="G1510" part of|strong="G1537" the|strong="G3588" body|strong="G4983".
16 The|strong="G3588" ear|strong="G3775" might|strong="G2532" say|strong="G3004", “I|strong="G1437" am|strong="G1510" not|strong="G3756" an|strong="G1510" eye|strong="G3788", so|strong="G2532" I|strong="G1437" don’t|strong="G3756" belong|strong="G1510" to|strong="G3004" the|strong="G3588" body|strong="G4983".” But|strong="G2532" saying|strong="G3004" this|strong="G3778" would|strong="G2532" not|strong="G3756" make|strong="G3756" the|strong="G3588" ear|strong="G3775" stop being|strong="G1510" a|strong="G1510" part of|strong="G1537" the|strong="G3588" body|strong="G4983".
17 If|strong="G1487" the|strong="G3588" whole|strong="G3650" body|strong="G4983" were|strong="G3788" an eye|strong="G3788", it would not be|strong="G3788" able to|strong="G3788" hear. If|strong="G1487" the|strong="G3588" whole|strong="G3650" body|strong="G4983" were|strong="G3788" an ear, it would not be|strong="G3788" able to|strong="G3788" smell|strong="G3750" anything.
20 So|strong="G1161" there|strong="G1161" are|strong="G4183" many|strong="G4183" parts|strong="G3196", but|strong="G1161" only one|strong="G1520" body|strong="G4983".
21 The|strong="G3588" eye|strong="G3788" cannot|strong="G3756" say|strong="G3004" to|strong="G3004" the|strong="G3588" hand|strong="G5495", “I|strong="G1161" don’t|strong="G3756" need|strong="G5532" you|strong="G5210"!” And|strong="G1161" the|strong="G3588" head|strong="G2776" cannot|strong="G3756" say|strong="G3004" to|strong="G3004" the|strong="G3588" foot|strong="G4228", “I|strong="G1161" don’t|strong="G3756" need|strong="G5532" you|strong="G5210"!”
22 No|strong="G0235", those|strong="G3588" parts|strong="G3196" of|strong="G4983" the|strong="G3588" body|strong="G4983" that|strong="G1380" seem|strong="G1380" to|strong="G4183" be|strong="G1510" weaker|strong="G0772" are|strong="G1510" actually very|strong="G4183" important.
23 And|strong="G2532" the|strong="G3588" parts that|strong="G3739" we|strong="G2249" think|strong="G1380" are|strong="G1510" not|strong="G1510" worth very|strong="G3778" much|strong="G4053" are|strong="G1510" the|strong="G3588" parts we|strong="G2249" give the|strong="G3588" most care to|strong="G2532". And|strong="G2532" we|strong="G2249" give special care to|strong="G2532" the|strong="G3588" parts of|strong="G4983" the|strong="G3588" body|strong="G4983" that|strong="G3739" we|strong="G2249" don’t want to|strong="G2532" show|strong="G2192".
24 The|strong="G3588" more|strong="G4053" beautiful parts don’t|strong="G3756" need|strong="G5532" this|strong="G3588" special care. But|strong="G1161" God|strong="G2316" put|strong="G1325" the|strong="G3588" body|strong="G4983" together and|strong="G1161" gave|strong="G1325" more|strong="G4053" honor|strong="G5092" to|strong="G1325" the|strong="G3588" parts that|strong="G2316" need|strong="G5532" it|strong="G1161".
25 God|strong="G0846" did|strong="G1510" this|strong="G3588" so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" our|strong="G1722" body|strong="G4983" would|strong="G0846" not|strong="G3361" be|strong="G1510" divided. God|strong="G0846" wanted the|strong="G3588" different parts|strong="G3196" to|strong="G2443" care|strong="G3309" the|strong="G3588" same|strong="G0846" for|strong="G5228" each|strong="G0240" other|strong="G0240".
26 If|strong="G1535" one|strong="G1520" part|strong="G3196" of|strong="G1520" the|strong="G3956" body suffers|strong="G3958", then|strong="G2532" all|strong="G3956" the|strong="G3956" other parts|strong="G3196" suffer|strong="G3958" with|strong="G2532" it|strong="G2532". Or|strong="G2532" if|strong="G1535" one|strong="G1520" part|strong="G3196" is|strong="G3588" honored|strong="G1392", then|strong="G2532" all|strong="G3956" the|strong="G3956" other parts|strong="G3196" share|strong="G4796" its|strong="G3956" honor|strong="G1392".
27 All of|strong="G1537" you|strong="G5210" together|strong="G2532" are|strong="G1510" the|strong="G2532" body|strong="G4983" of|strong="G1537" Christ|strong="G5547". Each one of|strong="G1537" you|strong="G5210" is|strong="G1510" a|strong="G1510" part|strong="G3313" of|strong="G1537" that|strong="G1161" body|strong="G4983".
28 And|strong="G2532" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G3588" church|strong="G1577" God|strong="G2316" has|strong="G2316" given a|strong="G5087" place|strong="G5087" first|strong="G4413" to|strong="G2532" apostles|strong="G0652", second|strong="G1208" to|strong="G2532" prophets|strong="G4396", and|strong="G2532" third|strong="G5154" to|strong="G2532" teachers|strong="G1320". Then|strong="G2532" God|strong="G2316" has|strong="G2316" given a|strong="G5087" place|strong="G5087" to|strong="G2532" those|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3739" do|strong="G2532" miracles|strong="G1411", those|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3739" have|strong="G2532" gifts|strong="G5486" of|strong="G2316" healing|strong="G2386", those|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3739" can help others|strong="G3588", those|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3739" are|strong="G3739" able to|strong="G2532" lead, and|strong="G2532" those|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3739" can speak in|strong="G1722" different kinds|strong="G1085" of|strong="G2316" languages|strong="G1100".
29 Not|strong="G3361" all|strong="G3956" are|strong="G3956" apostles|strong="G0652". Not|strong="G3361" all|strong="G3956" are|strong="G3956" prophets|strong="G4396". Not|strong="G3361" all|strong="G3956" are|strong="G3956" teachers|strong="G1320". Not|strong="G3361" all|strong="G3956" do|strong="G3361" miracles|strong="G1411".
30 Not|strong="G3361" all|strong="G3956" have|strong="G2192" gifts|strong="G5486" of|strong="G3956" healing|strong="G2386". Not|strong="G3361" all|strong="G3956" speak|strong="G2980" in|strong="G3956" different kinds|strong="G3956" of|strong="G3956" languages|strong="G1100". Not|strong="G3361" all|strong="G3956" interpret|strong="G1329" those|strong="G3956" languages|strong="G1100".
31 Continue|strong="G2532" to|strong="G2596" give your|strong="G2532" attention|strong="G2596" to|strong="G2596" the|strong="G3588" spiritual|strong="G5486" gifts|strong="G5486" you|strong="G5210" consider to|strong="G2596" be|strong="G2532" the|strong="G3588" greatest|strong="G3173". But|strong="G1161" now|strong="G1161" I|strong="G2532" want to|strong="G2596" point out a|strong="G2532" way|strong="G3598" of|strong="G3598" life that|strong="G1161" is|strong="G3588" even|strong="G2532" greater|strong="G3173".
