1 What|strong="G5101" shall we say|strong="G2046" then|strong="G3767" that Abraham|strong="G0011" our|strong="G2257" father|strong="G3962", as pertaining to|strong="G2596" the flesh|strong="G4561", hath found|strong="G2147"?
2 For|strong="G1063" if|strong="G1487" Abraham|strong="G0011" were justified|strong="G1344" by|strong="G1537" works|strong="G2041", he hath|strong="G2192" whereof to glory|strong="G2745"; but|strong="G0235" not|strong="G3756" before|strong="G4314" God|strong="G2316".
3 For|strong="G1063" what|strong="G5101" saith|strong="G3004" the scripture|strong="G1124"? Abraham|strong="G0011" believed|strong="G4100" God|strong="G2316", and|strong="G2532" it was counted|strong="G3049" unto him|strong="G0846" for|strong="G1519" righteousness|strong="G1343".
4 Now|strong="G1161" to him that worketh|strong="G2038" is|strong="G3049" the reward|strong="G3408" not|strong="G3756" reckoned|strong="G3049" of|strong="G2596" grace|strong="G5485", but|strong="G0235" of|strong="G2596" debt|strong="G3783".
5 But|strong="G1161" to him that worketh|strong="G2038" not|strong="G3361", but|strong="G1161" believeth|strong="G4100" on|strong="G1909" him that justifieth|strong="G1344" the ungodly|strong="G0765", his|strong="G0846" faith|strong="G4102" is counted|strong="G3049" for|strong="G1519" righteousness|strong="G1343".
6 Even as|strong="G2509" David|strong="G1138" also|strong="G2532" describeth|strong="G3004" the blessedness|strong="G3108" of the man|strong="G0444", unto whom|strong="G3739" God|strong="G2316" imputeth|strong="G3049" righteousness|strong="G1343" without|strong="G5565" works|strong="G2041",
7 Saying, Blessed|strong="G3107" are they whose|strong="G3739" iniquities|strong="G0458" are forgiven|strong="G0863", and|strong="G2532" whose|strong="G3739" sins|strong="G0266" are covered|strong="G1943".
8 Blessed|strong="G3107" is the man|strong="G0435" to whom|strong="G3739" the Lord|strong="G2962" will|strong="G3049" not|strong="G3361" impute|strong="G3049" sin|strong="G0266".
9 Cometh this|strong="G3778" blessedness|strong="G3108" then|strong="G3767" upon|strong="G1909" the circumcision|strong="G4061" only, or|strong="G2228" upon|strong="G1909" the uncircumcision|strong="G0203" also|strong="G2532"? for|strong="G1063" we say|strong="G3004" that|strong="G3754" faith|strong="G4102" was reckoned|strong="G3049" to Abraham|strong="G0011" for|strong="G1519" righteousness|strong="G1343".
10 How|strong="G4459" was it|strong="G3049" then|strong="G3767" reckoned|strong="G3049"? when he was|strong="G5607" in|strong="G1722" circumcision|strong="G4061", or|strong="G2228" in|strong="G1722" uncircumcision|strong="G0203"? Not|strong="G3756" in|strong="G1722" circumcision|strong="G4061", but|strong="G0235" in|strong="G1722" uncircumcision|strong="G0203".
11 And|strong="G2532" he received|strong="G2983" the sign|strong="G4592" of circumcision|strong="G4061", a seal|strong="G4973" of the righteousness|strong="G1343" of the faith|strong="G4102" which|strong="G1722" he had yet being|strong="G1722" uncircumcised|strong="G0203": that|strong="G1519" he|strong="G0846" might be|strong="G1511" the father|strong="G3962" of all|strong="G3956" them that believe|strong="G4100", though they be|strong="G1223" not circumcised|strong="G0203"; that|strong="G1519" righteousness|strong="G1343" might be imputed|strong="G3049" unto them|strong="G0846" also|strong="G2532":
12 And|strong="G2532" the father|strong="G3962" of circumcision|strong="G4061" to them who are|strong="G3588" not|strong="G3756" of|strong="G1537" the circumcision|strong="G4061" only|strong="G3440", but|strong="G0235" who|strong="G4748" also|strong="G2532" walk|strong="G4748" in the steps|strong="G2487" of that faith|strong="G4102" of|strong="G3962" our|strong="G2257" father|strong="G3962" Abraham|strong="G0011", which|strong="G1722" he had being|strong="G1722" yet uncircumcised|strong="G0203".
13 For|strong="G1063" the promise|strong="G1860", that he|strong="G0846" should be|strong="G1511" the heir|strong="G2818" of the world|strong="G2889", was not|strong="G3756" to Abraham|strong="G0011", or|strong="G2228" to|strong="G4690" his|strong="G0846" seed|strong="G4690", through|strong="G1223" the law|strong="G3551", but|strong="G0235" through|strong="G1223" the righteousness|strong="G1343" of faith|strong="G4102".
14 For|strong="G1063" if|strong="G1487" they which are|strong="G3588" of|strong="G1537" the law|strong="G3551" be heirs|strong="G2818", faith|strong="G4102" is made void|strong="G2758", and|strong="G2532" the promise|strong="G1860" made of none effect|strong="G2673":
15 Because|strong="G1063" the law|strong="G3551" worketh|strong="G2716" wrath|strong="G3709": for|strong="G1063" where|strong="G3757" no|strong="G3756" law|strong="G3551" is|strong="G2076", there is no|strong="G3761" transgression|strong="G3847".
16 Therefore|strong="G1223" it is of|strong="G1537" faith|strong="G4102", that|strong="G2443" it might be by|strong="G2596" grace|strong="G5485"; to the end|strong="G1519" the promise|strong="G1860" might be|strong="G1511" sure|strong="G0949" to all|strong="G3956" the seed|strong="G4690"; not|strong="G3756" to that|strong="G3588" only|strong="G3440" which is of|strong="G1537" the law|strong="G3551", but|strong="G0235" to that|strong="G3588" also|strong="G2532" which is of|strong="G1537" the faith|strong="G4102" of Abraham|strong="G0011"; who|strong="G3739" is|strong="G2076" the father|strong="G3962" of us|strong="G2257" all|strong="G3956",
17 (As|strong="G2531" it is written|strong="G1125", I have made|strong="G5087" thee|strong="G4571" a father|strong="G3962" of many|strong="G4183" nations|strong="G1484",) before|strong="G2713" him whom|strong="G3739" he believed|strong="G4100", even God|strong="G2316", who quickeneth|strong="G2227" the dead|strong="G3498", and|strong="G2532" calleth|strong="G2564" those things which be|strong="G5607" not|strong="G3361" as|strong="G5613" though they were|strong="G5607".
18 Who|strong="G3739" against|strong="G3844" hope|strong="G1680" believed|strong="G4100" in|strong="G1909" hope|strong="G1680", that|strong="G1519" he|strong="G0846" might become|strong="G1096" the father|strong="G3962" of many|strong="G4183" nations|strong="G1484"; according to|strong="G2596" that which was spoken|strong="G2046", So|strong="G3779" shall|strong="G2071" thy|strong="G4675" seed|strong="G4690" be|strong="G2071".
19 And|strong="G2532" being|strong="G0770" not|strong="G3361" weak|strong="G0770" in faith|strong="G4102", he considered|strong="G2657" not|strong="G3756" his own|strong="G1438" body|strong="G4983" now|strong="G2235" dead|strong="G3499", when he was about|strong="G4225" an hundred years old|strong="G1541", neither yet|strong="G2532" the deadness|strong="G3500" of|strong="G3388" Sara’s|strong="G4564" womb|strong="G3388":
20 He staggered|strong="G1252" not|strong="G3756" at|strong="G1519" the promise|strong="G1860" of God|strong="G2316" through unbelief|strong="G0570"; but|strong="G0235" was strong|strong="G1743" in faith|strong="G4102", giving|strong="G1325" glory|strong="G1391" to God|strong="G2316";
21 And|strong="G2532" being fully persuaded|strong="G4135" that|strong="G3754", what|strong="G3739" he had promised|strong="G1861", he was|strong="G2076" able|strong="G1415" also|strong="G2532" to perform|strong="G4160".

25 Who|strong="G3739" was delivered|strong="G3860" for|strong="G1223" our|strong="G2257" offences|strong="G3900", and|strong="G2532" was raised again|strong="G1453" for|strong="G1223" our|strong="G2257" justification|strong="G1347".
