2 And|strong="G2532" when he had fasted|strong="G3522" forty|strong="G5062" days|strong="G2250" and|strong="G2532" forty|strong="G5062" nights|strong="G3571", he was|strong="G3983" afterward|strong="G5305" an hungred|strong="G3983".
3 And|strong="G2532" when the tempter|strong="G3985" came|strong="G4334" to him|strong="G0846", he said|strong="G2036", If|strong="G1487" thou be|strong="G1488" the Son|strong="G5207" of God|strong="G2316", command|strong="G2036" that|strong="G2443" these|strong="G3778" stones|strong="G3037" be made|strong="G1096" bread|strong="G0740".
4 But|strong="G1161" he answered|strong="G0611" and said|strong="G2036", \+w It is written|strong="G1125"\+w*, \+w Man|strong="G0444"\+w* \+w shall|strong="G2198"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w live|strong="G2198"\+w* \+w by|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w bread|strong="G0740"\+w* \+w alone|strong="G3441"\+w*, \+w but|strong="G0235"\+w* \+w by|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w every|strong="G3956"\+w* \+w word|strong="G4487"\+w* \+w that proceedeth|strong="G1607"\+w* \+w out|strong="G1223"\+w* \+w of the mouth|strong="G4750"\+w* \+w of God|strong="G2316"\+w*.
5 Then|strong="G5119" the devil|strong="G1228" taketh|strong="G3880" him|strong="G0846" up|strong="G3880" into|strong="G1519" the holy|strong="G0040" city|strong="G4172", and|strong="G2532" setteth|strong="G2476" him|strong="G0846" on|strong="G1909" a pinnacle|strong="G4419" of the temple|strong="G2411",
6 And|strong="G2532" saith|strong="G3004" unto him|strong="G0846", If|strong="G1487" thou be|strong="G1488" the Son|strong="G5207" of God|strong="G2316", cast|strong="G0906" thyself|strong="G4572" down|strong="G2736": for|strong="G1063" it is written|strong="G1125", He shall give|strong="G1781" his|strong="G0846" angels|strong="G0032" charge|strong="G1781" concerning|strong="G4012" thee|strong="G4675": and|strong="G2532" in|strong="G1909" their hands|strong="G5495" they shall bear|strong="G0142" thee|strong="G4571" up|strong="G0142", lest at any time|strong="G3379" thou dash|strong="G4350" thy|strong="G4675" foot|strong="G4228" against|strong="G4314" a stone|strong="G3037".
7 Jesus|strong="G2424" said|strong="G5346" unto him|strong="G0846", \+w It is written|strong="G1125"\+w* \+w again|strong="G3825"\+w*, \+w Thou shalt|strong="G1598"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w tempt|strong="G1598"\+w* \+w the Lord|strong="G2962"\+w* \+w thy|strong="G4675"\+w* \+w God|strong="G2316"\+w*.
8 Again|strong="G3825", the devil|strong="G1228" taketh|strong="G3880" him|strong="G0846" up|strong="G3880" into|strong="G1519" an exceeding|strong="G3029" high|strong="G5308" mountain|strong="G3735", and|strong="G2532" sheweth|strong="G1166" him|strong="G0846" all|strong="G3956" the kingdoms|strong="G0932" of the world|strong="G2889", and|strong="G2532" the glory|strong="G1391" of them|strong="G0846";
9 And|strong="G2532" saith|strong="G3004" unto him|strong="G0846", All|strong="G3956" these things|strong="G5023" will I give|strong="G1325" thee|strong="G4671", if|strong="G1437" thou wilt fall down|strong="G4098" and worship|strong="G4352" me|strong="G3427".
10 Then|strong="G5119" saith|strong="G3004" Jesus|strong="G2424" unto him|strong="G0846", \+w Get thee hence|strong="G5217"\+w*, \+w Satan|strong="G4567"\+w*: \+w for|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w it is written|strong="G1125"\+w*, \+w Thou shalt worship|strong="G4352"\+w* \+w the Lord|strong="G2962"\+w* \+w thy|strong="G4675"\+w* \+w God|strong="G2316"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w him|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w only|strong="G3441"\+w* \+w shalt thou serve|strong="G3000"\+w*.
11 Then|strong="G5119" the devil|strong="G1228" leaveth|strong="G0863" him|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532", behold|strong="G2400", angels|strong="G0032" came|strong="G4334" and|strong="G2532" ministered|strong="G1247" unto him|strong="G0846".
12 Now|strong="G1161" when Jesus|strong="G2424" had heard|strong="G0191" that|strong="G3754" John|strong="G2491" was cast into prison|strong="G3860", he departed|strong="G0402" into|strong="G1519" Galilee|strong="G1056";
13 And|strong="G2532" leaving|strong="G2641" Nazareth|strong="G3478", he came|strong="G2064" and dwelt|strong="G2730" in|strong="G1519" Capernaum|strong="G2584", which|strong="G3588" is upon the sea coast|strong="G3864", in|strong="G1722" the borders|strong="G3725" of Zabulon|strong="G2194" and|strong="G2532" Nephthalim|strong="G3508":
14 That|strong="G2443" it might be fulfilled|strong="G4137" which|strong="G3588" was spoken|strong="G4483" by|strong="G1223" Esaias|strong="G2268" the prophet|strong="G4396", saying|strong="G3004",
15 The land|strong="G1093" of Zabulon|strong="G2194", and|strong="G2532" the land|strong="G1093" of Nephthalim|strong="G3508", by the way|strong="G3598" of the sea|strong="G2281", beyond|strong="G4008" Jordan|strong="G2446", Galilee|strong="G1056" of the Gentiles|strong="G1484";
16 The people|strong="G2992" which|strong="G3588" sat|strong="G2521" in|strong="G1722" darkness|strong="G4655" saw|strong="G1492" great|strong="G3173" light|strong="G5457"; and|strong="G2532" to them|strong="G0846" which|strong="G3588" sat|strong="G2521" in|strong="G1722" the region|strong="G5561" and|strong="G2532" shadow|strong="G4639" of death|strong="G2288" light|strong="G5457" is sprung up|strong="G0393".
17 From|strong="G0575" that time|strong="G5119" Jesus|strong="G2424" began|strong="G0756" to preach|strong="G2784", and|strong="G2532" to say|strong="G3004", \+w Repent|strong="G3340"\+w*: \+w for|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w the kingdom|strong="G0932"\+w* \+w of heaven|strong="G3772"\+w* \+w is at hand|strong="G1448"\+w*.
18 And|strong="G1161" Jesus|strong="G2424", walking|strong="G4043" by|strong="G3844" the sea|strong="G2281" of Galilee|strong="G1056", saw|strong="G1492" two|strong="G1417" brethren|strong="G0080", Simon|strong="G4613" called|strong="G3004" Peter|strong="G4074", and|strong="G2532" Andrew|strong="G0406" his|strong="G0846" brother|strong="G0080", casting|strong="G0906" a net|strong="G0293" into|strong="G1519" the sea|strong="G2281": for|strong="G1063" they were|strong="G2258" fishers|strong="G0231".

20 And|strong="G1161" they|strong="G0863" straightway|strong="G2112" left|strong="G0863" their nets|strong="G1350", and followed|strong="G0190" him|strong="G0846".
21 And|strong="G2532" going on|strong="G4260" from thence|strong="G1564", he saw|strong="G1492" other|strong="G0243" two|strong="G1417" brethren|strong="G0080", James|strong="G2385" the son of Zebedee|strong="G2199", and|strong="G2532" John|strong="G2491" his|strong="G0846" brother|strong="G0080", in|strong="G1722" a ship|strong="G4143" with|strong="G3326" Zebedee|strong="G2199" their|strong="G0846" father|strong="G3962", mending|strong="G2675" their|strong="G0846" nets|strong="G1350"; and|strong="G2532" he called|strong="G2564" them|strong="G0846".
22 And|strong="G1161" they immediately|strong="G2112" left|strong="G0863" the ship|strong="G4143" and|strong="G2532" their|strong="G0846" father|strong="G3962", and followed|strong="G0190" him|strong="G0846".
23 And|strong="G2532" Jesus|strong="G2424" went about|strong="G4013" all|strong="G3650" Galilee|strong="G1056", teaching|strong="G1321" in|strong="G1722" their|strong="G0846" synagogues|strong="G4864", and|strong="G2532" preaching|strong="G2784" the gospel|strong="G2098" of the kingdom|strong="G0932", and|strong="G2532" healing|strong="G2323" all manner of|strong="G3956" sickness|strong="G3554" and|strong="G2532" all manner of|strong="G3956" disease|strong="G3119" among|strong="G1722" the people|strong="G2992".
24 And|strong="G2532" his|strong="G0846" fame|strong="G0189" went|strong="G0565" throughout|strong="G1519" all|strong="G3650" Syria|strong="G4947": and|strong="G2532" they brought|strong="G4374" unto him|strong="G0846" all|strong="G3956" sick people|strong="G2560" that were taken|strong="G4912" with divers|strong="G4164" diseases|strong="G3554" and|strong="G2532" torments|strong="G0931", and|strong="G2532" those which were possessed with devils|strong="G1139", and|strong="G2532" those which were lunatick|strong="G4583", and|strong="G2532" those that had the palsy|strong="G3885"; and|strong="G2532" he healed|strong="G2323" them|strong="G0846".
25 And|strong="G2532" there followed|strong="G0190" him|strong="G0846" great multitudes|strong="G4183" of people|strong="G3793" from|strong="G0575" Galilee|strong="G1056", and|strong="G2532" from Decapolis|strong="G1179", and|strong="G2532" from Jerusalem|strong="G2414", and|strong="G2532" from Judaea|strong="G2449", and|strong="G2532" from beyond|strong="G4008" Jordan|strong="G2446".
