1 Now when|strong="G1161" Jesus|strong="G2424" was born|strong="G1080" in|strong="G1722" Bethlehem|strong="G0965" of Judaea|strong="G2449" in|strong="G1722" the days|strong="G2250" of Herod|strong="G2264" the king|strong="G0935", behold|strong="G2400", there came|strong="G3854" wise men|strong="G3097" from|strong="G0575" the east|strong="G0395" to|strong="G1519" Jerusalem|strong="G2414",
2 Saying|strong="G3004", Where|strong="G4226" is|strong="G2076" he|strong="G3588" that is born|strong="G5088" King|strong="G0935" of the Jews|strong="G2453"? for|strong="G1063" we have seen|strong="G1492" his|strong="G0846" star|strong="G0792" in|strong="G1722" the east|strong="G0395", and|strong="G2532" are come|strong="G2064" to worship|strong="G4352" him|strong="G0846".
3 When|strong="G1161" Herod|strong="G2264" the king|strong="G0935" had heard|strong="G0191" these things, he was troubled|strong="G5015", and|strong="G2532" all|strong="G3956" Jerusalem|strong="G2414" with|strong="G3326" him|strong="G0846".
4 And when|strong="G2532" he had gathered|strong="G4863" all|strong="G3956" the chief priests|strong="G0749" and|strong="G2532" scribes|strong="G1122" of the people|strong="G2992" together|strong="G4863", he demanded|strong="G4441" of|strong="G3844" them|strong="G0846" where|strong="G4226" Christ|strong="G5547" should be born|strong="G1080".
5 And|strong="G1161" they said|strong="G2036" unto him|strong="G0846", In|strong="G1722" Bethlehem|strong="G0965" of Judaea|strong="G2449": for|strong="G1063" thus|strong="G3779" it is written|strong="G1125" by|strong="G1223" the prophet|strong="G4396",
6 And|strong="G2532" thou|strong="G4771" Bethlehem|strong="G0965", in the land|strong="G1093" of Juda|strong="G2448", art|strong="G1488" not|strong="G3760" the least|strong="G1646" among|strong="G1722" the princes|strong="G2232" of Juda|strong="G2448": for|strong="G1063" out of|strong="G1537" thee|strong="G4675" shall come|strong="G1831" a Governor|strong="G2233", that|strong="G3748" shall rule|strong="G4165" my|strong="G3450" people|strong="G2992" Israel|strong="G2474".
7 Then|strong="G5119" Herod|strong="G2264", when he had|strong="G2564" privily|strong="G2977" called|strong="G2564" the wise men|strong="G3097", enquired|strong="G0198" of|strong="G3844" them|strong="G0846" diligently|strong="G0198" what time|strong="G5550" the star|strong="G0792" appeared|strong="G5316".
8 And|strong="G2532" he sent|strong="G3992" them|strong="G0846" to|strong="G1519" Bethlehem|strong="G0965", and said|strong="G2036", Go|strong="G4198" and search|strong="G1833" diligently|strong="G0199" for|strong="G4012" the young child|strong="G3813"; and|strong="G1161" when|strong="G1875" ye have found|strong="G2147" him, bring|strong="G0518" me|strong="G3427" word again|strong="G0518", that|strong="G3704" I|strong="G2504" may come|strong="G2064" and worship|strong="G4352" him|strong="G0846" also|strong="G2504".
9 When|strong="G1161" they had heard|strong="G0191" the king|strong="G0935", they departed|strong="G4198"; and|strong="G2532", lo|strong="G2400", the star|strong="G0792", which|strong="G3739" they saw|strong="G1492" in|strong="G1722" the east|strong="G0395", went before|strong="G4254" them|strong="G0846", till|strong="G2193" it came|strong="G2064" and stood|strong="G2476" over|strong="G1883" where|strong="G3757" the young child|strong="G3813" was|strong="G2258".
10 When|strong="G1161" they saw|strong="G1492" the star|strong="G0792", they rejoiced|strong="G5463" with exceeding|strong="G4970" great|strong="G3173" joy|strong="G5479".
11 And|strong="G2532" when they were come|strong="G2064" into|strong="G1519" the house|strong="G3614", they saw|strong="G2147" the young child|strong="G3813" with|strong="G3326" Mary|strong="G3137" his|strong="G0846" mother|strong="G3384", and|strong="G2532" fell down|strong="G4098", and worshipped|strong="G4352" him|strong="G0846": and when|strong="G2532" they had opened|strong="G0455" their|strong="G0846" treasures|strong="G2344", they presented|strong="G4374" unto him|strong="G0846" gifts|strong="G1435"; gold|strong="G5557", and|strong="G2532" frankincense|strong="G3030", and|strong="G2532" myrrh|strong="G4666".
12 And|strong="G2532" being warned of God|strong="G5537" in|strong="G2596" a dream|strong="G3677" that they should|strong="G0344" not|strong="G3361" return|strong="G0344" to|strong="G4314" Herod|strong="G2264", they departed|strong="G0402" into|strong="G1519" their own|strong="G0846" country|strong="G5561" another|strong="G0243" way|strong="G3598".
13 And when|strong="G1161" they|strong="G0846" were departed|strong="G0402", behold|strong="G2400", the angel|strong="G0032" of the Lord|strong="G2962" appeareth|strong="G5316" to Joseph|strong="G2501" in|strong="G2596" a dream|strong="G3677", saying|strong="G3004", Arise|strong="G1453", and take|strong="G3880" the young child|strong="G3813" and|strong="G2532" his|strong="G0846" mother|strong="G3384", and|strong="G2532" flee|strong="G5343" into|strong="G1519" Egypt|strong="G0125", and|strong="G2532" be thou|strong="G2468" there|strong="G1563" until|strong="G2193" I bring|strong="G2036" thee|strong="G4671" word|strong="G2036": for|strong="G1063" Herod|strong="G2264" will|strong="G3195" seek|strong="G2212" the young child|strong="G3813" to destroy|strong="G0622" him|strong="G0846".
14 When|strong="G1161" he arose|strong="G1453", he took|strong="G3880" the young child|strong="G3813" and|strong="G2532" his|strong="G0846" mother|strong="G3384" by night|strong="G3571", and|strong="G2532" departed|strong="G0402" into|strong="G1519" Egypt|strong="G0125":
15 And|strong="G2532" was|strong="G2258" there|strong="G1563" until|strong="G2193" the death|strong="G5054" of Herod|strong="G2264": that|strong="G2443" it might be fulfilled|strong="G4137" which was spoken|strong="G4483" of|strong="G5259" the Lord|strong="G2962" by|strong="G1223" the prophet|strong="G4396", saying|strong="G3004", Out of|strong="G1537" Egypt|strong="G0125" have I called|strong="G2564" my|strong="G3450" son|strong="G5207".
16 Then|strong="G5119" Herod|strong="G2264", when he saw|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754" he was mocked|strong="G1702" of|strong="G5259" the wise men|strong="G3097", was|strong="G2373" exceeding|strong="G3029" wroth|strong="G2373", and|strong="G2532" sent forth|strong="G0649", and slew|strong="G0337" all|strong="G3956" the children|strong="G3816" that were|strong="G3588" in|strong="G1722" Bethlehem|strong="G0965", and|strong="G2532" in|strong="G1722" all|strong="G3956" the coasts|strong="G3725" thereof|strong="G0846", from|strong="G0575" two years old|strong="G1332" and|strong="G2532" under|strong="G2736", according to|strong="G2596" the time|strong="G5550" which|strong="G3739" he had diligently enquired|strong="G0198" of|strong="G3844" the wise men|strong="G3097".
17 Then|strong="G5119" was fulfilled|strong="G4137" that which was spoken|strong="G4483" by|strong="G5259" Jeremy|strong="G2408" the prophet|strong="G4396", saying|strong="G3004",
18 In|strong="G1722" Rama|strong="G4471" was there|strong="G0191" a voice|strong="G5456" heard|strong="G0191", lamentation|strong="G2355", and|strong="G2532" weeping|strong="G2805", and|strong="G2532" great|strong="G4183" mourning|strong="G3602", Rachel|strong="G4478" weeping|strong="G2799" for her|strong="G0846" children|strong="G5043", and|strong="G2532" would|strong="G2309" not|strong="G3756" be comforted|strong="G3870", because|strong="G3754" they are|strong="G1526" not|strong="G3756".
19 But when|strong="G1161" Herod|strong="G2264" was dead|strong="G5053", behold|strong="G2400", an angel|strong="G0032" of the Lord|strong="G2962" appeareth|strong="G5316" in|strong="G2596" a dream|strong="G3677" to Joseph|strong="G2501" in|strong="G1722" Egypt|strong="G0125",
20 Saying|strong="G3004", Arise|strong="G1453", and take|strong="G3880" the young child|strong="G3813" and|strong="G2532" his|strong="G0846" mother|strong="G3384", and|strong="G2532" go|strong="G4198" into|strong="G1519" the land|strong="G1093" of Israel|strong="G2474": for|strong="G1063" they are dead|strong="G2348" which|strong="G3588" sought|strong="G2212" the young child’s|strong="G3813" life|strong="G5590".
21 And|strong="G1161" he arose|strong="G1453", and took|strong="G3880" the young child|strong="G3813" and|strong="G2532" his|strong="G0846" mother|strong="G3384", and|strong="G2532" came|strong="G2064" into|strong="G1519" the land|strong="G1093" of Israel|strong="G2474".
22 But|strong="G1161" when he heard|strong="G0191" that|strong="G3754" Archelaus|strong="G0745" did reign|strong="G0936" in|strong="G1909" Judaea|strong="G2449" in the room of|strong="G0473" his|strong="G0846" father|strong="G3962" Herod|strong="G2264", he was afraid|strong="G5399" to go|strong="G0565" thither|strong="G1563": notwithstanding|strong="G1161", being warned of God|strong="G5537" in|strong="G2596" a dream|strong="G3677", he turned aside|strong="G0402" into|strong="G1519" the parts|strong="G3313" of Galilee|strong="G1056":
23 And|strong="G2532" he came|strong="G2064" and dwelt|strong="G2730" in|strong="G1519" a city|strong="G4172" called|strong="G3004" Nazareth|strong="G3478": that|strong="G3704" it might be fulfilled|strong="G4137" which|strong="G3588" was spoken|strong="G4483" by|strong="G1223" the prophets|strong="G4396", He shall be called|strong="G2564" a Nazarene|strong="G3480".
