2 And|strong="G2532" when they saw|strong="G1492" some|strong="G5100" of|strong="G3101" his|strong="G0846" disciples|strong="G3101" eat|strong="G2068" bread|strong="G0740" with|strong="G5495" defiled|strong="G2839", that|strong="G5124" is to say|strong="G2076", with unwashen|strong="G0449", hands|strong="G5495", they found fault|strong="G3201".
3 For|strong="G1063" the Pharisees|strong="G5330", and|strong="G2532" all|strong="G3956" the Jews|strong="G2453", except|strong="G1437" they wash|strong="G3538" their hands|strong="G5495" oft|strong="G4435", eat|strong="G2068" not|strong="G3756", holding|strong="G2902" the tradition|strong="G3862" of the elders|strong="G4245".
4 And|strong="G2532" when they come from|strong="G0575" the market|strong="G0058", except|strong="G1437" they wash|strong="G0907", they eat|strong="G2068" not|strong="G3756". And|strong="G2532" many|strong="G4183" other things|strong="G0243" there be|strong="G2076", which|strong="G3739" they have received|strong="G3880" to hold|strong="G2902", as the washing|strong="G0909" of cups|strong="G4221", and|strong="G2532" pots|strong="G3582", brasen vessels|strong="G5473", and|strong="G2532" of tables|strong="G2825".
5 Then|strong="G1899" the Pharisees|strong="G5330" and|strong="G2532" scribes|strong="G1122" asked|strong="G1905" him|strong="G0846", Why|strong="G5101" walk|strong="G4043" not|strong="G3756" thy|strong="G4675" disciples|strong="G3101" according to|strong="G2596" the tradition|strong="G3862" of the elders|strong="G4245", but|strong="G0235" eat|strong="G2068" bread|strong="G0740" with|strong="G5495" unwashen|strong="G0449" hands|strong="G5495"?
6 He answered|strong="G0611" and|strong="G1161" said|strong="G2036" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w Well|strong="G2573"\+w* \+w hath|strong="G4395"\+w* \+w Esaias|strong="G2268"\+w* \+w prophesied|strong="G4395"\+w* \+w of|strong="G4012"\+w* \+w you|strong="G5216"\+w* \+w hypocrites|strong="G5273"\+w*, \+w as|strong="G5613"\+w* \+w it is written|strong="G1125"\+w*, \+w This|strong="G3778"\+w* \+w people|strong="G2992"\+w* \+w honoureth|strong="G5091"\+w* \+w me|strong="G3165"\+w* \+w with|strong="G5491"\+w* \+add their\+add* \+w lips|strong="G5491"\+w*, \+w but|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w their|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w heart|strong="G2588"\+w* \+w is|strong="G0568"\+w* \+w far|strong="G4206"\+w* \+w from|strong="G0575"\+w* \+w me|strong="G1700"\+w*.
7 \+w Howbeit|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w in vain|strong="G3155"\+w* \+w do they worship|strong="G4576"\+w* \+w me|strong="G3165"\+w*, \+w teaching|strong="G1321"\+w* \+add for\+add* \+w doctrines|strong="G1319"\+w* \+w the commandments|strong="G1778"\+w* \+w of men|strong="G0444"\+w*.
8 \+w For|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w laying aside|strong="G0863"\+w* \+w the commandment|strong="G1785"\+w* \+w of God|strong="G2316"\+w*, \+w ye hold|strong="G2902"\+w* \+w the tradition|strong="G3862"\+w* \+w of men|strong="G0444"\+w*, \+add as\+add* \+w the washing|strong="G0909"\+w* \+w of pots|strong="G3582"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w cups|strong="G4221"\+w*: \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w many|strong="G4183"\+w* \+w other|strong="G0243"\+w* \+w such|strong="G5108"\+w* \+w like things|strong="G3946"\+w* \+w ye do|strong="G4160"\+w*.
9 And|strong="G2532" he said|strong="G3004" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w Full well|strong="G2573"\+w* \+w ye reject|strong="G0114"\+w* \+w the commandment|strong="G1785"\+w* \+w of God|strong="G2316"\+w*, \+w that|strong="G2443"\+w* \+w ye may keep|strong="G5083"\+w* \+w your own|strong="G5216"\+w* \+w tradition|strong="G3862"\+w*.
10 \+w For|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w Moses|strong="G3475"\+w* \+w said|strong="G2036"\+w*, \+w Honour|strong="G5091"\+w* \+w thy|strong="G4675"\+w* \+w father|strong="G3962"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w thy|strong="G4675"\+w* \+w mother|strong="G3384"\+w*; \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w*, \+w Whoso curseth|strong="G2551"\+w* \+w father|strong="G3962"\+w* \+w or|strong="G2228"\+w* \+w mother|strong="G3384"\+w*, \+w let him die|strong="G5053"\+w* \+w the death|strong="G2288"\+w*:

13 \+w Making|strong="G0208"\+w* \+w the word|strong="G3056"\+w* \+w of God|strong="G2316"\+w* \+w of none effect|strong="G0208"\+w* \+w through your|strong="G5216"\+w* \+w tradition|strong="G3862"\+w*, \+w which|strong="G3739"\+w* \+w ye have delivered|strong="G3860"\+w*: \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w many|strong="G4183"\+w* \+w such|strong="G5108"\+w* \+w like things|strong="G3946"\+w* \+w do|strong="G4160"\+w* ye.
14 And|strong="G2532" when he had called|strong="G4341" all|strong="G3956" the people|strong="G3793" unto him, he said|strong="G3004" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w Hearken|strong="G0191"\+w* \+w unto me|strong="G3450"\+w* \+w every one|strong="G3956"\+w* \+add of you\+add*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w understand|strong="G4920"\+w*:
15 \+w There is|strong="G2076"\+w* \+w nothing|strong="G3762"\+w* \+w from without|strong="G1855"\+w* \+w a man|strong="G0444"\+w*, \+w that|strong="G3739"\+w* \+w entering|strong="G1531"\+w* \+w into|strong="G1519"\+w* \+w him|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w can|strong="G1410"\+w* \+w defile|strong="G2840"\+w* \+w him|strong="G0846"\+w*: \+w but|strong="G0235"\+w* \+w the things which come out|strong="G1607"\+w* \+w of|strong="G0575"\+w* \+w him|strong="G0846"\+w*, \+w those|strong="G1565"\+w* \+w are they|strong="G2076"\+w* \+w that defile|strong="G2840"\+w* \+w the man|strong="G0444"\+w*.
16 \+w If|strong="G1487"\+w* \+w any man|strong="G5100"\+w* \+w have|strong="G2192"\+w* \+w ears|strong="G3775"\+w* \+w to hear|strong="G0191"\+w*, \+w let him hear|strong="G0191"\+w*.
17 And|strong="G2532" when|strong="G3753" he was entered|strong="G1525" into|strong="G1519" the house|strong="G3624" from|strong="G0575" the people|strong="G3793", his|strong="G0846" disciples|strong="G3101" asked|strong="G1905" him|strong="G0846" concerning|strong="G4012" the parable|strong="G3850".
18 And|strong="G2532" he saith|strong="G3004" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w Are|strong="G2075"\+w* \+w ye|strong="G5210"\+w* \+w so|strong="G3779"\+w* \+w without understanding|strong="G0801"\+w* \+w also|strong="G2532"\+w*? \+w Do ye|strong="G3539"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w perceive|strong="G3539"\+w*, \+w that|strong="G3754"\+w* \+w whatsoever|strong="G3956"\+w* \+w thing from without|strong="G1855"\+w* \+w entereth|strong="G1531"\+w* \+w into|strong="G1519"\+w* \+w the man|strong="G0444"\+w*, \+add it\+add* \+w can|strong="G1410"\+w*\+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w defile|strong="G2840"\+w* \+w him|strong="G0846"\+w*;
19 \+w Because|strong="G3754"\+w* \+w it entereth|strong="G1531"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w into|strong="G1519"\+w* \+w his|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w heart|strong="G2588"\+w*, \+w but|strong="G0235"\+w* \+w into|strong="G1519"\+w* \+w the belly|strong="G2836"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w goeth out|strong="G1607"\+w* \+w into|strong="G1519"\+w* \+w the draught|strong="G0856"\+w*, \+w purging|strong="G2511"\+w* \+w all|strong="G3956"\+w* \+w meats|strong="G1033"\+w*?
20 And|strong="G1161" he said|strong="G3004", \+w That which cometh out|strong="G1607"\+w* \+w of|strong="G1537"\+w* \+w the man|strong="G0444"\+w*, \+w that|strong="G1565"\+w* \+w defileth|strong="G2840"\+w* \+w the man|strong="G0444"\+w*.
21 \+w For|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w from within|strong="G2081"\+w*, \+w out|strong="G1537"\+w* \+w of the heart|strong="G2588"\+w* \+w of men|strong="G0444"\+w*, \+w proceed|strong="G1607"\+w* \+w evil|strong="G2556"\+w* \+w thoughts|strong="G1261"\+w*, \+w adulteries|strong="G3430"\+w*, \+w fornications|strong="G4202"\+w*, \+w murders|strong="G5408"\+w*,
22 \+w Thefts|strong="G2829"\+w*, \+w covetousness|strong="G4124"\+w*, \+w wickedness|strong="G4189"\+w*, \+w deceit|strong="G1388"\+w*, \+w lasciviousness|strong="G0766"\+w*, \+w an|strong="G3788"\+w* \+w evil|strong="G4190"\+w* \+w eye|strong="G3788"\+w*, \+w blasphemy|strong="G0988"\+w*, \+w pride|strong="G5243"\+w*, \+w foolishness|strong="G0877"\+w*:
23 \+w All|strong="G3956"\+w* \+w these|strong="G5023"\+w* \+w evil things|strong="G4190"\+w* \+w come|strong="G1607"\+w* \+w from within|strong="G2081"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w defile|strong="G2840"\+w* \+w the man|strong="G0444"\+w*.
24 And|strong="G2532" from thence|strong="G1564" he arose|strong="G0450", and went|strong="G0565" into|strong="G1519" the borders|strong="G3181" of Tyre|strong="G5184" and|strong="G2532" Sidon|strong="G4605", and|strong="G2532" entered|strong="G1525" into|strong="G1519" an house|strong="G3614", and would have|strong="G2309" no man|strong="G3762" know|strong="G1097" it: but|strong="G2532" he could|strong="G1410" not|strong="G3756" be hid|strong="G2990".
25 For|strong="G1063" a|strong="G1135" certain woman|strong="G1135", whose|strong="G3739" young daughter|strong="G2365" had|strong="G2192" an|strong="G4151" unclean|strong="G0169" spirit|strong="G4151", heard|strong="G0191" of|strong="G4012" him|strong="G0846", and came|strong="G2064" and fell|strong="G4363" at|strong="G4314" his|strong="G0846" feet|strong="G4228":
26 The woman|strong="G1135" was|strong="G2258" a Greek|strong="G1674", a Syrophenician|strong="G4949" by nation|strong="G1085"; and|strong="G2532" she besought|strong="G2065" him|strong="G0846" that|strong="G2443" he would cast forth|strong="G1544" the devil|strong="G1140" out|strong="G1537" of|strong="G2364" her|strong="G0846" daughter|strong="G2364".
27 But|strong="G1161" Jesus|strong="G2424" said|strong="G2036" unto her|strong="G0846", \+w Let|strong="G0863"\+w* \+w the children|strong="G5043"\+w* \+w first|strong="G4412"\+w* \+w be filled|strong="G5526"\+w*: \+w for|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w it is|strong="G2076"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w meet|strong="G2570"\+w* \+w to take|strong="G2983"\+w* \+w the children’s|strong="G5043"\+w* \+w bread|strong="G0740"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w to cast|strong="G0906"\+w* \+add it\+add* \+w unto the dogs|strong="G2952"\+w*.
28 And|strong="G1161" she answered|strong="G0611" and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G3004" unto him|strong="G0846", Yes|strong="G3483", Lord|strong="G2962": yet|strong="G1063" the dogs|strong="G2952" under|strong="G5270" the table|strong="G5132" eat|strong="G2068" of|strong="G0575" the children’s|strong="G3813" crumbs|strong="G5589".
29 And|strong="G2532" he said|strong="G2036" unto her|strong="G0846", \+w For|strong="G1223"\+w* \+w this|strong="G5126"\+w* \+w saying|strong="G3056"\+w* \+w go thy way|strong="G5217"\+w*; \+w the devil|strong="G1140"\+w* \+w is gone out|strong="G1831"\+w* \+w of|strong="G1537"\+w* \+w thy|strong="G4675"\+w* \+w daughter|strong="G2364"\+w*.
30 And|strong="G2532" when she was come|strong="G0565" to|strong="G1519" her|strong="G0846" house|strong="G3624", she found|strong="G2147" the devil|strong="G1140" gone out|strong="G1831", and|strong="G2532" her daughter|strong="G2364" laid|strong="G0906" upon|strong="G1909" the bed|strong="G2825".
31 And|strong="G2532" again|strong="G3825", departing|strong="G1831" from|strong="G1537" the coasts|strong="G3725" of Tyre|strong="G5184" and|strong="G2532" Sidon|strong="G4605", he came|strong="G2064" unto|strong="G4314" the sea|strong="G2281" of Galilee|strong="G1056", through|strong="G0303" the midst|strong="G3319" of the coasts|strong="G3725" of Decapolis|strong="G1179".
32 And|strong="G2532" they bring|strong="G5342" unto him|strong="G0846" one that was deaf|strong="G2974", and had an impediment in his speech|strong="G3424"; and|strong="G2532" they beseech|strong="G3870" him|strong="G0846" to|strong="G2443" put|strong="G2007" his hand|strong="G5495" upon|strong="G2007" him|strong="G0846".
33 And|strong="G2532" he took|strong="G0618" him|strong="G0846" aside|strong="G2398" from|strong="G0575" the multitude|strong="G3793", and put|strong="G0906" his|strong="G0846" fingers|strong="G1147" into|strong="G1519" his|strong="G0846" ears|strong="G3775", and|strong="G2532" he spit|strong="G4429", and touched|strong="G0680" his|strong="G0846" tongue|strong="G1100";
34 And|strong="G2532" looking up|strong="G0308" to|strong="G1519" heaven|strong="G3772", he sighed|strong="G4727", and|strong="G2532" saith|strong="G3004" unto him|strong="G0846", \+w Ephphatha|strong="G2188"\+w*, that|strong="G3739" is|strong="G2076", Be opened|strong="G1272".
35 And|strong="G2532" straightway|strong="G2112" his|strong="G0846" ears|strong="G0189" were opened|strong="G1272", and|strong="G2532" the string|strong="G1199" of|strong="G1100" his|strong="G0846" tongue|strong="G1100" was loosed|strong="G3089", and|strong="G2532" he spake|strong="G2980" plain|strong="G3723".
36 And|strong="G2532" he charged|strong="G1291" them|strong="G0846" that|strong="G2443" they should tell|strong="G2036" no man|strong="G3367": but|strong="G1161" the more|strong="G3745" he|strong="G0846" charged|strong="G1291" them|strong="G0846", so much the more|strong="G3123" a great deal|strong="G4054" they published|strong="G2784" it;
37 And|strong="G2532" were|strong="G1605" beyond measure|strong="G5249" astonished|strong="G1605", saying|strong="G3004", He hath done|strong="G4160" all things|strong="G3956" well|strong="G2573": he maketh|strong="G4160" both|strong="G2532" the deaf|strong="G2974" to hear|strong="G0191", and|strong="G2532" the dumb|strong="G0216" to speak|strong="G2980".
