1 That is why I, Paul, am a prisoner who belongs to Jesus Christ. It is for the sake of you people who are not Jews.
1 Por esta causa, eu, Paulo, sou o prisioneiro de Jesus Cristo por vós, os gentios,
2 I am sure you have heard that God gave me work to do for you.
2 se é que tendes ouvido a dispensação da graça de Deus, que para convosco me foi dada;
3 He showed me what his plan was. And I have already written a little about it to you.
3 como me foi este mistério manifestado pela revelação como acima, em pouco, vos escrevi,
4 When you read this, you can understand why I know about his plan for Christ.
4 pelo que, quando ledes, podeis perceber a minha compreensão do mistério de Cristo,
5 In the past, God did not tell his plan to people. But now the Holy Spirit has shown it to his holy apostles and prophets.
5 o qual, noutros séculos, não foi manifestado aos filhos dos homens, como, agora, tem sido revelado pelo Espírito aos seus santos apóstolos e profetas,
6 This is Gods plan. Those who are not Jews will also share in the blessings of God. They also are a part of the body of Jesus Christ. They also will receive the things God has promised in Jesus Christ through the good news.
6 a saber, que os gentios são coerdeiros, e de um mesmo corpo, e participantes da promessa em Cristo pelo evangelho;
7 God gave me the work of telling that good news. And he blessed me by his power.
7 do qual fui feito ministro, pelo dom da graça de Deus, que me foi dado segundo a operação do seu poder.
8 I am less than the least of all Gods people, and yet he blessed me. It is my work to tell those who are not Jews about the wonderful blessings of Christ. There are so many that we cannot know them all.
8 A mim, o mínimo de todos os santos, me foi dada esta graça de anunciar entre os gentios, por meio do evangelho, as riquezas incompreensíveis de Cristo
9 God has blessed me so that I might tell all people plainly what his plan is. God, who made all things, did not tell anyone about his plan in all the times in the past.
9 e demonstrar a todos qual seja a dispensação do mistério, que, desde os séculos, esteve oculto em Deus, que tudo criou;
10 Now he wants those who rule and have power in the sky to know how very wise God is. They will know this when they look at the church people.
10 para que, agora, pela igreja, a multiforme sabedoria de Deus seja conhecida dos principados e potestades nos céus,
11 This is what God has always planned to do. And he did it in Jesus Christ our Lord.
11 segundo o eterno propósito que fez em Cristo Jesus, nosso Senhor,
12 In Christ we are not to be afraid to come to God. We are sure we can come because we believe in Christ.
12 no qual temos ousadia e acesso com confiança, pela nossa fé nele.
13 So I ask you not to be sad when you think of the troubles I have for your sake. You should be proud about it.
13 Portanto, vos peço que não desfaleçais nas minhas tribulações por vós, que são a vossa glória.
14 That is why I kneel down before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
14 Por causa disso, me ponho de joelhos perante o Pai de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo,
15 From him every family in heaven or on earth gets its name.
15 do qual toda a família nos céus e na terra toma o nome,
16 I ask him to make you very strong in heart by his Spirit. He has great and wonderful blessings and is able to do so because of the fullness of his glory.
16 para que, segundo as riquezas da sua glória, vos conceda que sejais corroborados com poder pelo seu Espírito no homem interior;
17 And I ask that Christ may live in your hearts because you believe in him. I ask that you may live and grow in love.
17 para que Cristo habite, pela fé, no vosso coração; a fim de, estando arraigados e fundados em amor,
18 I ask that God will give you power to know how wide and long and high and deep the love of Christ is. All Christians should know that.
18 poderdes perfeitamente compreender, com todos os santos, qual seja a largura, e o comprimento, e a altura, e a profundidade
19 I ask God that you may know the love of Christ which is more than we can ever know. I ask that you may be filled with everything that God has.
19 e conhecer o amor de Cristo, que excede todo entendimento, para que sejais cheios de toda a plenitude de Deus.

20 Ora, àquele que é poderoso para fazer tudo muito mais abundantemente além daquilo que pedimos ou pensamos, segundo o poder que em nós opera,
21 God can do much more than we ask him to do, or we even think of. He does it by his power which is working in us. So, praise him in the church meeting in Christ Jesus. Praise him for ever and ever! May it be so!
21 a esse glória na igreja, por Jesus Cristo, em todas as gerações, para todo o sempre. Amém!
