1 Ne ɔso minyua ikpi igbã biara ɔbara. Mila gu adzuni nyanyarĩa ite maturi, sirerɛ ikpɛ̃ gu sitia si sidaawe i mi ndɛ̃.
1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.
2 Ɣaa itɔ̃me nɛ mailupu kuira si ikpɛ̃ mi ɔkã teteree lɛ kumɛgɔ i inyɛdu sɛ ikpɛ̃ mabi ɣɛtɛ ɔkã si miamɔ i mi iɖi ame.
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3 Alasɔ mi mɔmɔ ɔɔti Bosate kayiribielea minyɔ sɔ ilɛ.
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.
4 Ne ɔso mibore mibo Bosate gɔ nɖe ita nɛ mba ngbã fiɛ iire kuira i mayotsuedze anɔ, ɣɛɛ ne i Ɣaa ɔɖi, fiɛ ɔ̃ katɔ̃ ne, ne lofɔ kuɣa iɖo.

5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Alasɔ Ɔko Sekelea ɔɣɛ sɔ,
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 Ita nɛgbe ɔfɔ kuɣa gbaã i mi ma lofɔ miɖe kɔrɛ, ɣɛɛ mma loifɔ maɖe ne, matsue sɔ,
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 Ɔko Sekelea kakɔi kawɛ̃ ana ɔɣɛ sɔ,
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Ɣɛɛ mi ne, maturi ma i Ɣaa ɔɖi ɔsɛ miɖe, masɔrɛdze ma nsɛ male Igara, kaɖe ga nse sekelee, Ɣaa mɔmɔ maturi ma ɔɖi ɔsɛ sɔ maapɛ ɔ̃ awawãra imomo miɖe. Mma i Ɣaa ɔkpere ɔbɔrɛgu i idududu ame ɔbɔ ɔ̃ ikpawaĩ siare ame.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Ɔwi gɔ lofe ame ne, miiɖe Ɣaa maturi, ɣɛɛ kiniɔ ne, ɔ̃ maturi ka miɖe. Ɔwi gɔ lofe ame ne, Ɣaa iinyɔ mi nnya, ɣɛɛ kiniɔ ne, Ɣaa ɔɔnyɔ mi nnya.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 Manyii ɖɔɛse, lɛ mma nɖe mafɔ gu marisɛdze i kayi gagbe ame ne, nto loka mi sɔ midaabara i sosina ara lalaa wa nsɛ akpɛ̃ mi ɔkã fiɛ ata aɣɛ i mi ɔkala iso.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Mi nsɛgbai i mma loiɖe mafɔɖedze ndɛ̃ si mise sekelee sɔ atoa sɔ masɛ maɣɛ sɔ mito mibara ara lalaa ne, maanya mi ara sɛɛ wa mito mibara sɔ maasu ile matã Ɣaa ku ɔ̃ iyi nɛ ɔ̃aledza iba iso.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Bosate gɔ boto bosɔrɛ ɔso ne, mibɔ so karɔ̃ mitã mma ɔɖuɖu nto maɖe mi iso gu Roma Igarakpakpa ana.

14 Mibɔ so karɔ̃ ana mitã makpakpa ma i Igarakpakpa sɛ ɔpia sɔ makpadzɛ̃ ara lalaa mabaradze kutsue si male mma nto mabara ara sɛɛ.
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Alasɔ Ɣaa kuɖɔɛ nɖe sɔ miabara isɛɛ sɔ mma loikpa anɔ sidzimi aate. Iyɔ maibaɣɛ inyakpi kuiwɛ̃ i mi iso.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Misɛ ngbã lɛ mma nsigu so, ɣɛɛ midaasu mi isɛguso mibara ara lalaa. Misɛ lɛ mma nɖe Ɣaa masande.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Miwarɛ maturi ɔɖuɖu si miɖɔɛ mafɔɖedze ɔɖuɖu. Minigã Ɣaa, si miwarɛ Igarakpakpa ana.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Mi ma nɖe maɖabo ne, mibɔ so karɔ̃ mitã mi makɔse si miwarɛ ma. Iiɖe makɔse ma nsɛ maɖɔɛ mi fiɛ masɛ manyɔ mi nnya kere, ɣɛɛ ta mma nɖe matilese ana.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Si ɔturi to ɔwe inyɛ nɛ loikote alasɔ ɔto ɔbara Ɣaa kuɖɔɛ ne, Ɣaa sɛ ɔtã wũ kusɛkusɛ.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Si mibara ara lalaa fiɛ mina ɔtu miya mapɛ mi ne, mme ile mpia i ne ame? Ɣɛɛ si mina ɔtu miwe inyɛ i isɛɛ ibara ame ne, Ɣaa aanagu mi isoɣɔ.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Nnɛgbe ɔso i Ɣaa ɔkpere mi ɔbɔ ne, alasɔ Kristo ɔ̃ wũ ɔwe inyɛ i mi iti ɔnyua ikparĩ ɔsɛ sɔ miasiai ɔ̃ ngbama.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 “Ɔ̃ibara ikpi kuiwɛ̃,
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 Gɔ matia wũ ne, ɔ̃itia ɔti kuso, mma lote wũ ɔɣiã ne, ɔ̃igbarĩ ma, ɣɛɛ ɔsu ɔ̃ ɔtu ɔsia i Ɣaa iso, ngɔ nsɛ ɔɣɛ atɔ̃me i ɔri iso.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 Kristo mɔmɔ lofɔ bo akpi ɔsore ku ɔwi gɔ mapɛ wũ mamatãra i kudziri iso. Ɔbara nnɛgbe sɔ si boabɔrɛ i ikpi nrɔɔ̃ ame, ɣɛɛ boasɛ ngbã botã isɛɛ ibara, fiɛ iki i ɔ̃ aɣɛi wa ɔfɔ ame ne, miɔna isosarɛ.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Ɔwiɔ ne, mise lɛ masɛrɛrerɔ̃ ma loyu ɔri, ɣɛɛ kiniɔ ne, Ɣaa ɔɔkpesera mi ɔbɔ Masɛrɛkɔdze gu ngɔ nto ɔdzuɛ̃ mi kɔrɛ.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
