21 By|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" time|strong="G1909" Jesus|strong="G2424" had|strong="G2424" recrossed in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" boat|strong="G4143" to|strong="G1519" the|strong="G1722" opposite shore, a|strong="G2532" great|strong="G4183" number|strong="G3793" of|strong="G2532" people|strong="G3793" had|strong="G2424" gathered|strong="G4863" to|strong="G1519" meet|strong="G3588" him|strong="G3588", and|strong="G2532" were|strong="G1510" standing by|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" sea|strong="G2281".
22 One|strong="G1520" of|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" leaders of|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" synagogue, whose|strong="G3588" name|strong="G3686" was|strong="G3588" Jairus|strong="G2383", came|strong="G2064" and|strong="G2532", as|strong="G2532" soon as|strong="G2532" he|strong="G2532" saw|strong="G3708" Jesus|strong="G2532", threw|strong="G4098" himself at|strong="G4314" his|strong="G3708" feet|strong="G4228" and|strong="G2532" begged him|strong="G3588" repeatedly,
23 saying|strong="G3004", ‘My|strong="G1473" little|strong="G2365" daughter|strong="G2365" is|strong="G3588" at|strong="G3588" death|strong="G2079"’s|strong="G2192" door. Please come|strong="G2064" and|strong="G2532" place|strong="G2007" your|strong="G2192" hands|strong="G5495" on|strong="G5495" her|strong="G3754" so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G3754" she|strong="G2532" may|strong="G2532" recover|strong="G4982" and|strong="G2532" live|strong="G2198".’

25 Meanwhile|strong="G1510" a|strong="G2532" woman|strong="G1135" who|strong="G2532" for|strong="G1722" twelve|strong="G1427" years|strong="G2094" had|strong="G2532" suffered from|strong="G2532" haemorrhage,
26 and|strong="G2532" undergone much|strong="G4183" at|strong="G1519" the|strong="G2532" hands|strong="G5259" of|strong="G5259" many|strong="G4183" doctors|strong="G2395", (spending all|strong="G3956" she|strong="G2532" had|strong="G2532" without|strong="G3367" obtaining any|strong="G3956" relief, but|strong="G2532", on|strong="G1519" the|strong="G2532" contrary|strong="G3844", growing worse|strong="G5501"),
27 heard about|strong="G4012" Jesus|strong="G2424", came|strong="G2064" behind|strong="G3693" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" crowd|strong="G3793", and|strong="G2064" touched his|strong="G4012" cloak|strong="G2440".
28 ‘If|strong="G1437" I|strong="G1063" can|strong="G3004" only|strong="G2579" touch his|strong="G4982" clothes|strong="G2440",’ she|strong="G3754" said|strong="G3004", ‘I|strong="G1063" will|strong="G3748" get|strong="G4982" well|strong="G4982"!’

36 But|strong="G1161" Jesus|strong="G2424", overhearing|strong="G3878" what|strong="G3588" they|strong="G1161" were|strong="G3588" saying|strong="G3004", said|strong="G3004" to|strong="G3004" the|strong="G1161" synagogue leader, ‘\+w Do|strong="G3004"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3361"\+w* \+w be|strong="G3361"\+w* \+w afraid|strong="G5399"\+w*; \+w only|strong="G3440"\+w* \+w have|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w faith|strong="G2980"\+w*.’
37 And|strong="G2532" he|strong="G2532" allowed no|strong="G3756" one|strong="G3762" to|strong="G2532" accompany|strong="G4870" him|strong="G3588", except|strong="G1487" Peter|strong="G4074", James|strong="G2385", and|strong="G2532" John|strong="G2491", the|strong="G2532" brother of|strong="G2532" James|strong="G2385".
38 Presently they|strong="G2532" reached|strong="G1519" the|strong="G2532" leader’s house|strong="G3624", where|strong="G1519" Jesus|strong="G2532" saw|strong="G2334" a|strong="G2532" scene of|strong="G2532" confusion – people|strong="G4183" weeping|strong="G2799" and|strong="G2532" wailing|strong="G2799" incessantly.
39 ‘\+w Why|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w this|strong="G3588"\+w* confusion \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w weeping|strong="G2799"\+w*?’ he|strong="G2532" said|strong="G3004" on|strong="G3004" entering|strong="G1525". ‘\+w The|strong="G2532"\+w* little \+w child|strong="G3813"\+w* \+w is|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* dead; \+w she|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w is|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w asleep|strong="G2518"\+w*.’
