3 ‘Are|strong="G1510" you|strong="G4771" the|strong="G1161" king|strong="G3588" of|strong="G3588" the|strong="G1161" Jews|strong="G2453"?’ Pilate|strong="G4091" asked|strong="G2065" him|strong="G3588". ‘\+w It|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w is|strong="G1510"\+w* \+w true|strong="G3588"\+w*,’ replied|strong="G3004" Jesus|strong="G3004".

5 But|strong="G1161" they|strong="G2532" insisted, ‘He|strong="G2532" is|strong="G3588" stirring up|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" people|strong="G2992" by|strong="G2596" his|strong="G2532" teaching|strong="G1321" all|strong="G3650" through|strong="G2596" Judea|strong="G2449"; he|strong="G2532" began|strong="G1161" with|strong="G2532" Galilee|strong="G1056" and|strong="G2532" has|strong="G3748" now|strong="G1161" come|strong="G2532" here|strong="G5602".’
6 Hearing this|strong="G3588", Pilate|strong="G4091" asked|strong="G1905" if|strong="G1487" the|strong="G1161" man was|strong="G1510" a|strong="G1510" Galilean|strong="G1057";

10 Meanwhile|strong="G1161" the|strong="G2532" chief|strong="G2532" priests and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" teachers of|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" Law stood|strong="G2476" by|strong="G2532" and|strong="G2532" vehemently|strong="G2159" accused|strong="G2723" him|strong="G3588".
11 And|strong="G2532" Herod|strong="G2264", with|strong="G4862" his|strong="G2532" soldiers|strong="G4753", treated|strong="G1848" Jesus|strong="G2532" with|strong="G4862" scorn; he|strong="G2532" mocked|strong="G1702" him|strong="G3588" by|strong="G2532" throwing a|strong="G2532" gorgeous|strong="G2986" robe|strong="G2066" round|strong="G2532" him|strong="G3588", and|strong="G2532" then|strong="G2532" sent|strong="G2532" him|strong="G3588" back to|strong="G2532" Pilate|strong="G4091".

13 So|strong="G2532" Pilate|strong="G4091" summoned|strong="G4779" the|strong="G2532" chief|strong="G2532" priests, and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" leading men|strong="G3588", and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" people|strong="G2992",

16 so|strong="G3767" I|strong="G3767" will|strong="G3767" have|strong="G3811" him scourged, and|strong="G3767" then|strong="G3767" release him.’

19 (Barabbas was|strong="G1510" a|strong="G1096" man|strong="G5100" who|strong="G3588" had|strong="G2532" been|strong="G1510" put|strong="G2532" in|strong="G1722" prison|strong="G5438" for|strong="G1223" a|strong="G1096" riot|strong="G4714" that|strong="G3588" had|strong="G2532" broken out|strong="G2532" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" city|strong="G4172" and|strong="G2532" for|strong="G1223" murder|strong="G5408".)
20 Pilate|strong="G4091", however|strong="G1161", wanting|strong="G2309" to|strong="G2309" release Jesus|strong="G2424", called|strong="G4377" to|strong="G2309" them|strong="G3588" again|strong="G3825";
21 but|strong="G1161" they|strong="G1161" kept calling|strong="G3004" out, ‘Crucify|strong="G4717", crucify|strong="G4717" him|strong="G3588"!’
22 ‘Why|strong="G5101", what|strong="G5101" harm|strong="G2556" has|strong="G5101" this|strong="G3778" man|strong="G3778" done|strong="G4160"?’ Pilate|strong="G3004" said|strong="G3004" to|strong="G4314" them|strong="G3588" for|strong="G1063" the|strong="G1722" third|strong="G5154" time|strong="G5154". ‘I|strong="G1161" have|strong="G4160" found|strong="G2147" nothing|strong="G3762" in|strong="G1722" him|strong="G3588" for|strong="G1063" which|strong="G3588" he|strong="G1161" could|strong="G2147" be|strong="G3588" condemned to|strong="G4314" death|strong="G2288". 23 But|strong="G1161" they|strong="G2532" persisted in|strong="G2532" loudly|strong="G3173" demanding his|strong="G2532" crucifixion|strong="G4717"; and|strong="G2532" their|strong="G2532" clamour gained the|strong="G2532" day|strong="G3588".
24 Pilate|strong="G4091" decided|strong="G1096" that|strong="G3588" their|strong="G2532" demand should|strong="G3588" be|strong="G1096" granted|strong="G1096".
25 He|strong="G2532" released the|strong="G2532" man|strong="G3739" who|strong="G3739" had|strong="G2424" been|strong="G2532" put|strong="G2532" in|strong="G1519" prison|strong="G5438" for|strong="G1519" riot|strong="G4714" and|strong="G2532" murder|strong="G5408", as|strong="G1519" they|strong="G2532" demanded, and|strong="G2532" gave|strong="G3860" Jesus|strong="G2424" up|strong="G3860" to|strong="G1519" be|strong="G2532" dealt with|strong="G1223" as|strong="G1519" they|strong="G2532" pleased.
26 And|strong="G2532", as|strong="G5613" they|strong="G2532" were|strong="G3588" leading|strong="G5342" Jesus|strong="G2424" away, they|strong="G2532" laid|strong="G2007" hold|strong="G1949" of|strong="G2532" Simon|strong="G4613" from|strong="G2064" Cyrene|strong="G2956", who|strong="G3588" was|strong="G3588" on|strong="G1949" his|strong="G2007" way|strong="G5613" in|strong="G2532" from|strong="G2064" the|strong="G2532" country, and|strong="G2532" they|strong="G2532" put|strong="G2007" the|strong="G2532" cross|strong="G4716" on|strong="G1949" his|strong="G2007" shoulders, for|strong="G2532" him|strong="G3588" to|strong="G2532" carry|strong="G5342" it|strong="G2532" behind|strong="G3693" Jesus|strong="G2424".
27 There|strong="G2532" was|strong="G3588" a|strong="G2532" great|strong="G4183" crowd|strong="G4128" of|strong="G2532" people|strong="G2992" following him|strong="G3588", many|strong="G4183" being|strong="G2532" women|strong="G1135" who|strong="G3739" were|strong="G3588" beating their|strong="G2532" breasts and|strong="G2532" wailing|strong="G2875" for|strong="G1161" him|strong="G3588".
28 So|strong="G2532" Jesus|strong="G2424" turned|strong="G4762" and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G3004" to|strong="G4314" them|strong="G3588", ‘Women \+w of|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w Jerusalem|strong="G2419"\+w*, \+w do|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3361"\+w* \+w weep|strong="G2799"\+w* \+w for|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w me|strong="G1473"\+w*, \+w but|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w weep|strong="G2799"\+w* \+w for|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w yourselves|strong="G1438"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w for|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w your|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w children|strong="G5043"\+w*.
29 \+w A|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w time|strong="G2250"\+w*, \+w I|strong="G3739"\+w* \+w tell|strong="G3004"\+w* \+w you|strong="G3739"\+w*, \+w is|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w coming|strong="G2064"\+w*, \+w when|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w it|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w will|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w be|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w said|strong="G3004"\+w* – “\+w Happy|strong="G3107"\+w* \+w are|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w the|strong="G1722"\+w* women \+w who|strong="G3739"\+w* \+w are|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w barren|strong="G4723"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w those|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w who|strong="G3739"\+w* \+w have|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w never|strong="G3756"\+w* borne \+w children|strong="G1080"\+w* \+w or|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w nursed|strong="G5142"\+w* \+w them|strong="G3588"\+w*!”
30 \+w At|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w that|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w time|strong="G5119"\+w* \+w people|strong="G3004"\+w* \+w will|strong="G2532"\+w* begin \+w to|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w say|strong="G3004"\+w* \+w to|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w the|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w mountains|strong="G3735"\+w* “\+w Fall|strong="G4098"\+w* \+w on|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w us|strong="G3004"\+w*,” \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w to|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w the|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w hills|strong="G1015"\+w* “\+w Cover|strong="G2572"\+w* \+w us|strong="G3004"\+w*.”
31 \+w If|strong="G1487"\+w* \+w what|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w you|strong="G1487"\+w* see \+w is|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w done|strong="G4160"\+w* \+w while|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w the|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w tree|strong="G3586"\+w* \+w is|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w green|strong="G5200"\+w*, \+w what|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w will|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w happen|strong="G1096"\+w* \+w when|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w it|strong="G3754"\+w* \+w is|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w dry|strong="G3584"\+w*?’
32 There|strong="G2532" were|strong="G2532" two|strong="G1417" others|strong="G2087" also|strong="G2532", criminals|strong="G2557", led out|strong="G2532" to|strong="G2532" be|strong="G2532" executed with|strong="G4862" Jesus|strong="G2532".
33 When|strong="G3753" they|strong="G2532" had|strong="G2532" reached|strong="G2064" the|strong="G2532" place|strong="G5117" called|strong="G2564" “The|strong="G2532" Skull|strong="G2898",” there|strong="G1563" they|strong="G2532" crucified|strong="G4717" Jesus|strong="G2532" and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" criminals|strong="G2557", one|strong="G3739" on|strong="G1909" the|strong="G2532" right|strong="G1188", and|strong="G2532" one|strong="G3739" on|strong="G1909" the|strong="G2532" left.

36 The|strong="G2532" soldiers|strong="G4757", too|strong="G2532", came|strong="G4334" up|strong="G4374" in|strong="G2532" mockery, bringing|strong="G4374" him|strong="G3588" common wine|strong="G3690",
37 and|strong="G2532" saying|strong="G3004" as|strong="G2532" they|strong="G2532" did|strong="G2532" so|strong="G2532", ‘If|strong="G1487" you|strong="G4771" are|strong="G1510" the|strong="G2532" king|strong="G3588" of|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" Jews|strong="G2453", save|strong="G4982" yourself|strong="G4572".’

39 One|strong="G1520" of|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" criminals|strong="G2557" who|strong="G3588" were|strong="G1510" hanging|strong="G2910" beside Jesus|strong="G3004" railed at|strong="G1161" him|strong="G3588". ‘Aren’t|strong="G3588" you|strong="G4771" the|strong="G2532" Christ|strong="G5547"? Save|strong="G4982" yourself|strong="G4572" and|strong="G2532" us|strong="G3004",’ he|strong="G2532" said|strong="G3004".
40 But|strong="G1161" the|strong="G1722" other|strong="G2087" rebuked|strong="G2008" him|strong="G3588". ‘Haven’t|strong="G3588" you|strong="G4771",’ he|strong="G1161" said|strong="G5346", ‘any|strong="G1722" respect|strong="G5399" for|strong="G3754" God|strong="G2316", now|strong="G1161" that|strong="G3754" you|strong="G4771" are|strong="G1510" under|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" same sentence|strong="G2917"?
41 And|strong="G2532" we|strong="G2249" justly|strong="G1346" so|strong="G2532", for|strong="G1063" we|strong="G2249" are|strong="G3739" only|strong="G2532" reaping our|strong="G2532" deserts, but|strong="G1161" this|strong="G3778" man|strong="G3778" has|strong="G3739" not|strong="G3762" done|strong="G4238" anything|strong="G3762" wrong.
42 Jesus|strong="G2424",’ he|strong="G2532" went|strong="G2064" on|strong="G1722", ‘do|strong="G2532" not|strong="G2064" forget me|strong="G1473" when|strong="G3752" you|strong="G4771" have|strong="G2532" come|strong="G2064" to|strong="G2532" your|strong="G2532" kingdom.’
