5 ‘So|strong="G3767" let|strong="G1510" the|strong="G1722" influential|strong="G1415" men|strong="G5100" among|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5210",’ he|strong="G3588" said|strong="G5346", ‘go|strong="G4782" down with|strong="G1722" me, and|strong="G3767" if|strong="G1487" there|strong="G1510" is|strong="G1510" anything|strong="G5100" amiss in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" man|strong="G5100", charge|strong="G2723" him|strong="G3588" formally with|strong="G1722" it|strong="G1487".’

8 Paul|strong="G3972"’s answer to|strong="G1519" the|strong="G1519" charge was|strong="G3588" – “I|strong="G3754" have|strong="G3748" not|strong="G3777" committed any|strong="G5100" offence against|strong="G1519" the|strong="G1519" Jewish|strong="G2453" Law|strong="G3551", or|strong="G3777" the|strong="G1519" Temple|strong="G2411", or|strong="G3777" the|strong="G1519" Emperor.”
9 But|strong="G1161", as|strong="G1519" Festus|strong="G5347" wished|strong="G2309" to|strong="G1519" gain popularity with|strong="G1909" the|strong="G1519" Jews|strong="G2453", he|strong="G1161" interrupted Paul|strong="G3972" with|strong="G1909" the|strong="G1519" question|strong="G2919", ‘Are|strong="G3588" you|strong="G3004" willing|strong="G2309" to|strong="G1519" go|strong="G2309" up|strong="G1519" to|strong="G1519" Jerusalem|strong="G2414" and|strong="G1161" be|strong="G1519" tried|strong="G2919" on|strong="G1909" these|strong="G3778" charges|strong="G3004" before|strong="G1909" me|strong="G1473" there|strong="G1563"?’
10 ‘No|strong="G3762",’ replied|strong="G3004" Paul|strong="G3972", ‘I|strong="G1473" am|strong="G1510" standing|strong="G2476" at|strong="G1909" the|strong="G2532" Emperor’s court, where|strong="G3757" I|strong="G1473" ought|strong="G1163" to|strong="G2532" be|strong="G1510" tried|strong="G2919". 27 For|strong="G1063" it|strong="G2532" seems|strong="G1380" to|strong="G2532" me|strong="G1473" absurd to|strong="G2532" send|strong="G3992" a|strong="G2532" prisoner|strong="G1198", without|strong="G3361" at|strong="G2596" the|strong="G2532" same|strong="G2532" time stating the|strong="G2532" charges made|strong="G4591" against|strong="G2596" him|strong="G3588".’
