6 knowledge|strong="G1108" by|strong="G1722" self-control|strong="G1466", self-control|strong="G1466" by|strong="G1722" endurance|strong="G5281", endurance|strong="G5281" by|strong="G1722" piety|strong="G2150",

8 For|strong="G1063", when|strong="G2532" these|strong="G3778" virtues are|strong="G3588" yours|strong="G4771", in|strong="G1519" increasing|strong="G4121" measure, they|strong="G2532" prevent your|strong="G2962" being|strong="G5225" indifferent to|strong="G1519", or|strong="G2532" destitute of|strong="G2532", a|strong="G2532" fuller knowledge|strong="G1922" of|strong="G2532" our|strong="G2424" Lord|strong="G2962" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547".
9 Surely|strong="G3361" the|strong="G3588" person|strong="G3739" who|strong="G3739" has|strong="G3739" not|strong="G3361" these|strong="G3778" virtues is|strong="G1510" shortsighted even|strong="G1063" to|strong="G3361" blindness, and|strong="G2983" has|strong="G3739" chosen to|strong="G3361" forget that|strong="G3739" they|strong="G3588" have|strong="G1510" been|strong="G1510" purified from|strong="G3588" their|strong="G3588" sins of|strong="G3588" the|strong="G3588" past|strong="G3819"!

20 But|strong="G3778" first|strong="G4413" be|strong="G1096" assured of|strong="G3956" this|strong="G3778": There|strong="G3754" is|strong="G3778" no|strong="G3756" prophetic|strong="G4394" teaching found|strong="G1096" in|strong="G3956" scripture|strong="G1124" that|strong="G3754" can be|strong="G1096" interpreted by|strong="G1097" a|strong="G1096" person|strong="G3778"’s unaided reason;
21 for|strong="G1063" no|strong="G3756" prophetic|strong="G4394" teaching|strong="G2980" ever|strong="G4218" came|strong="G5342" in|strong="G2316" the|strong="G1063" old days at|strong="G3756" the|strong="G1063" mere wish of|strong="G5259" people, but|strong="G1063" people, moved|strong="G5342" by|strong="G5259" the|strong="G1063" Holy|strong="G4151" Spirit|strong="G4151", spoke|strong="G2980" direct from|strong="G5259" God|strong="G2316".
