2 May|strong="G2532" God|strong="G2316", our|strong="G2316" Father|strong="G3962", and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" Lord|strong="G2962" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547" bless you|strong="G5210" and|strong="G2532" give|strong="G1473" you|strong="G5210" peace|strong="G1515".
3 Blessed|strong="G2128" is|strong="G3588" the|strong="G2532" God|strong="G2316" and|strong="G2532" Father|strong="G3962" of|strong="G2316" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547" our|strong="G2316" Lord|strong="G2962", the|strong="G2532" all-merciful Father|strong="G3962", the|strong="G2532" God|strong="G2316" ever ready to|strong="G2532" console,
4 who|strong="G3739" consoles us|strong="G1519" in|strong="G1722" all|strong="G3956" our|strong="G2316" troubles|strong="G2347", so|strong="G1519" that|strong="G3739" we|strong="G2249" may|strong="G1410" be|strong="G1410" able|strong="G1410" to|strong="G1519" console those|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3739" are|strong="G3588" in|strong="G1722" any|strong="G3956" trouble|strong="G2347" with|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" consolation|strong="G3874" that|strong="G3739" we|strong="G2249" ourselves|strong="G2249" receive from|strong="G5259" him|strong="G3588".
5 It|strong="G2532" is|strong="G3588" true|strong="G3779" that|strong="G3754" we|strong="G2249" have|strong="G2532" our|strong="G2532" full share of|strong="G1223" the|strong="G2532" sufferings|strong="G3804" of|strong="G1223" the|strong="G2532" Christ|strong="G5547", but|strong="G2532" through|strong="G1223" the|strong="G2532" Christ|strong="G5547" we|strong="G2249" have|strong="G2532" also|strong="G2532" our|strong="G2532" full share of|strong="G1223" consolation|strong="G3874".
6 If|strong="G1535" we|strong="G2249" meet|strong="G3588" with|strong="G1722" trouble|strong="G2346", it|strong="G2532" is|strong="G3588" for|strong="G5228" the|strong="G1722" sake|strong="G5228" of|strong="G2532" your|strong="G2532" consolation|strong="G3874" and|strong="G2532" salvation|strong="G4991"; and|strong="G2532", if|strong="G1535" we|strong="G2249" find consolation|strong="G3874", it|strong="G2532" is|strong="G3588" for|strong="G5228" the|strong="G1722" sake|strong="G5228" of|strong="G2532" the|strong="G1722" consolation|strong="G3874" that|strong="G3739" you|strong="G5210" will|strong="G2532" experience when|strong="G1161" you|strong="G5210" are|strong="G3588" called|strong="G3739" to|strong="G2532" endure the|strong="G1722" sufferings|strong="G3804" that|strong="G3739" we|strong="G2249" ourselves|strong="G2249" are|strong="G3588" enduring|strong="G5281";
7 and|strong="G2532" our|strong="G2532" hope|strong="G1680" for|strong="G3754" you|strong="G4771" remains unshaken. We|strong="G3754" know|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754", as|strong="G5613" you|strong="G4771" are|strong="G1510" sharing our|strong="G2532" sufferings|strong="G3804", you|strong="G4771" will|strong="G1510" also|strong="G2532" share|strong="G2844" our|strong="G2532" consolation|strong="G3874".
8 We|strong="G2249" want|strong="G2309" you|strong="G5210", friends, to|strong="G2532" know|strong="G1722" that|strong="G3754", in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" troubles|strong="G2347" which|strong="G3588" befell us|strong="G2249" in|strong="G1722" Roman Asia|strong="G3588", we|strong="G2249" were|strong="G3588" burdened|strong="G2347" altogether beyond|strong="G5228" our|strong="G2532" strength|strong="G1411", so|strong="G2532" much so|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3754" we|strong="G2249" even|strong="G2532" despaired|strong="G1820" of|strong="G2532" life|strong="G2198".
9 Indeed|strong="G1510", we|strong="G2192" had|strong="G2192" the|strong="G1722" presentiment that|strong="G2443" we|strong="G2192" must|strong="G2192" die|strong="G2288", so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" we|strong="G2192" might|strong="G2316" rely|strong="G3982", not|strong="G3361" on|strong="G1909" ourselves|strong="G1438", but|strong="G3361" on|strong="G1909" God|strong="G2316" who|strong="G3588" raises|strong="G1453" the|strong="G1722" dead|strong="G3498".
10 And|strong="G2532" from|strong="G1537" so|strong="G2532" imminent a|strong="G2532" death|strong="G2288" God|strong="G2532" delivered|strong="G4506" us|strong="G1519", and|strong="G2532" will|strong="G2532" deliver|strong="G4506" us|strong="G1519" again|strong="G2089"; for|strong="G3754" in|strong="G1519" him|strong="G3739" we|strong="G2249" have|strong="G2532" placed our|strong="G2532" hopes|strong="G1679" of|strong="G1537" future deliverance, while|strong="G3739" you|strong="G3739", also|strong="G2532", help us|strong="G1519" by|strong="G1537" your|strong="G2532" prayers.
11 And|strong="G2532" then|strong="G2532" many|strong="G4183" lips will|strong="G2532" give|strong="G2168" thanks|strong="G2168" on|strong="G1519" our|strong="G2532" behalf|strong="G5228" for|strong="G1519" the|strong="G2532" blessing granted us|strong="G1519" in|strong="G1519" answer to|strong="G1519" many|strong="G4183" prayers|strong="G1162".
12 Indeed|strong="G2532", our|strong="G2316" main ground for|strong="G1063" satisfaction is|strong="G1510" this|strong="G3778" – Our|strong="G2316" conscience|strong="G4893" tells us|strong="G2249" that|strong="G3754" our|strong="G2316" conduct in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" world|strong="G2889", and|strong="G2532" still more|strong="G2532" in|strong="G1722" our|strong="G2316" relations with|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5210", was|strong="G1510" marked by|strong="G1722" a|strong="G2532" purity of|strong="G2316" motive and|strong="G2532" a|strong="G2532" sincerity|strong="G1505" that|strong="G3754" were|strong="G1510" inspired by|strong="G1722" God|strong="G2316", and|strong="G2532" was|strong="G1510" based, not|strong="G3756" on|strong="G1722" worldly|strong="G2889" policy, but|strong="G1161" on|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" help of|strong="G2316" God|strong="G2316".
13 We|strong="G3739" never|strong="G3756" write|strong="G1125" anything|strong="G2193" to|strong="G2532" you|strong="G5210" other|strong="G1161" than|strong="G2228" what|strong="G3739" you|strong="G5210" will|strong="G2532" acknowledge|strong="G1921" to|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" very|strong="G2532" end|strong="G5056" –

15 With|strong="G4314" this|strong="G3778" conviction in|strong="G2532" my|strong="G2192" mind|strong="G2532", I|strong="G2532" planned|strong="G1014" to|strong="G4314" come|strong="G2064" to|strong="G4314" see you|strong="G5210" first|strong="G4386", so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" your|strong="G2192" pleasure|strong="G5485" might|strong="G2532" be|strong="G2532" doubled –

17 As|strong="G2596" this|strong="G3778" was|strong="G1510" my|strong="G1473" plan, where|strong="G3739", pray|strong="G2443", did|strong="G2532" I|strong="G1473" show any|strong="G2443" fickleness of|strong="G2532" purpose|strong="G1011"? Or|strong="G2228" do|strong="G2532" you|strong="G3739" think that|strong="G2443" my|strong="G1473" plans are|strong="G1510" formed on|strong="G2596" mere|strong="G2596" impulse, so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" in|strong="G2596" the|strong="G2532" same|strong="G3778" breath I|strong="G1473" say|strong="G1473" “Yes|strong="G3483"” and|strong="G2532" “No|strong="G3756"”?
18 As|strong="G1161" God|strong="G2316" is|strong="G1510" true|strong="G4103", the|strong="G2532" message|strong="G3056" that|strong="G3754" we|strong="G2249" brought|strong="G1161" you|strong="G5210" does|strong="G1510" not|strong="G3756" waver between|strong="G4314" “Yes|strong="G3483"” and|strong="G2532" “No|strong="G3756"”!
19 The|strong="G1722" Son|strong="G5207" of|strong="G5207" God|strong="G2316", Christ|strong="G5547" Jesus|strong="G2424", whom|strong="G3588" we|strong="G2249" – Silas, Timothy|strong="G5095", and|strong="G2532" I|strong="G1473" – proclaimed|strong="G2784" among|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5210", never|strong="G3756" wavered between|strong="G1722" “Yes|strong="G3483"” and|strong="G2532" “No|strong="G3756".” With|strong="G1722" him|strong="G3588" it|strong="G2532" has|strong="G2316" always|strong="G1223" been|strong="G1096" “Yes|strong="G3483".”

21 God|strong="G2316" who|strong="G3588" brings|strong="G1519" us|strong="G1519", with|strong="G4862" you|strong="G5210", into|strong="G1519" close union with|strong="G4862" Christ|strong="G5547", and|strong="G2532" who|strong="G3588" consecrated us|strong="G1519",
22 also|strong="G2532" set|strong="G4972" his|strong="G1722" seal|strong="G4972" on|strong="G1722" us|strong="G1325", and|strong="G2532" gave|strong="G1325" us|strong="G1325" his|strong="G1722" Spirit|strong="G4151" in|strong="G1722" our|strong="G2532" hearts|strong="G2588" as|strong="G1722" a|strong="G2532" pledge of|strong="G4151" future blessings.
