2 Now|strong="G3063" what|strong="G3588" we|strong="G2443" look for|strong="G1722" in|strong="G1722" stewards|strong="G3623" is|strong="G3588" that|strong="G2443" they|strong="G3588" should|strong="G5100" be|strong="G2443" trustworthy|strong="G4103".
3 But|strong="G1161" it|strong="G1161" weighs very|strong="G1646" little|strong="G1646" with|strong="G5259" me|strong="G1473" that|strong="G2443" I|strong="G1473" am|strong="G1510" judged by|strong="G5259" you|strong="G5210" or|strong="G2228" by|strong="G5259" any|strong="G2443" human tribunal. No|strong="G3761", I|strong="G1473" do|strong="G1510" not|strong="G3761" even|strong="G3761" judge myself|strong="G1683";
4 for|strong="G1063", though|strong="G1161" I|strong="G1473" am|strong="G1510" conscious of|strong="G2962" nothing|strong="G3762" against|strong="G1722" myself|strong="G1683", that|strong="G3588" does|strong="G1510" not|strong="G3756" prove me|strong="G1473" innocent. It|strong="G1161" is|strong="G1510" the|strong="G1722" Lord|strong="G2962" who|strong="G3588" is|strong="G1510" my|strong="G1722" judge.
5 Therefore|strong="G5620" do|strong="G2919" not|strong="G3361" pass|strong="G1096" judgment|strong="G2919" before|strong="G4253" the|strong="G2532" time|strong="G2540", but|strong="G2532" wait until|strong="G2193" the|strong="G2532" Lord|strong="G2962" comes|strong="G2064". 6 All|strong="G2532" this|strong="G3778", friends, I|strong="G1473" have|strong="G2532", for|strong="G1519" your|strong="G1223" sakes|strong="G1223", applied|strong="G3345" to|strong="G1519" Apollos and|strong="G2532" myself|strong="G1683", so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443", from|strong="G2532" our|strong="G2532" example, you|strong="G5210" may|strong="G2532" learn|strong="G3129" to|strong="G1519" observe the|strong="G1722" precept – “Keep|strong="G3361" to|strong="G1519" what|strong="G3739" is|strong="G3588" written|strong="G1125",” that|strong="G2443" none|strong="G3361" of|strong="G1223" you|strong="G5210" may|strong="G2532" speak|strong="G1161" boastfully of|strong="G1223" one|strong="G1520" teacher to|strong="G1519" the|strong="G1722" disparagement of|strong="G1223" another|strong="G2087".
7 For|strong="G1063" who|strong="G3739" makes any|strong="G1487" one|strong="G3739" of|strong="G2532" you|strong="G4771" superior|strong="G1252" to|strong="G2532" others|strong="G3739"? And|strong="G2532" what|strong="G5101" have|strong="G2192" you|strong="G4771" that|strong="G3739" was|strong="G3739" not|strong="G3756" given|strong="G3361" you|strong="G4771"? But|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1487" you|strong="G4771" received|strong="G2983" it|strong="G2532" as|strong="G5613" a|strong="G2192" gift, why|strong="G5101" do|strong="G5101" you|strong="G4771" boast|strong="G2744" as|strong="G5613" if|strong="G1487" you|strong="G4771" had|strong="G2192" not|strong="G3756"?
8 Are|strong="G1510" you|strong="G5210" all|strong="G2532" so|strong="G2443" soon satisfied|strong="G2880"? Are|strong="G1510" you|strong="G5210" so|strong="G2443" soon rich|strong="G4147"? Have|strong="G2532" you|strong="G5210" begun to|strong="G2443" reign|strong="G4821" without|strong="G5565" us|strong="G2249"? Would|strong="G2532" indeed|strong="G2532" that|strong="G2443" you|strong="G5210" had|strong="G2532", so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" we|strong="G2249" also|strong="G2532" might|strong="G2532" reign|strong="G4821" with|strong="G2532" you|strong="G5210"!
9 For|strong="G1063", as|strong="G5613" it|strong="G2532" seems|strong="G1380" to|strong="G2532" me|strong="G1473", God|strong="G2316" has|strong="G2316" exhibited us|strong="G2249", the|strong="G2532" apostles, last|strong="G2078" of|strong="G2316" all|strong="G2532", as|strong="G5613" people|strong="G3588" doomed to|strong="G2532" death|strong="G1935". We|strong="G2249" are|strong="G3588" made|strong="G1096" a|strong="G1096" spectacle|strong="G2302" to|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" universe, both|strong="G2532" to|strong="G2532" angels and|strong="G2532" to|strong="G2532" people|strong="G3588"!
10 We|strong="G2249", for|strong="G1223" Christ|strong="G5547"’s sake|strong="G1223", are|strong="G2249" fools|strong="G3474", but|strong="G1161" you|strong="G5210", by|strong="G1223" your|strong="G1223" union with|strong="G1722" Christ|strong="G5547", are|strong="G2249" people of|strong="G1223" discernment. We|strong="G2249" are|strong="G2249" weak, but|strong="G1161" you|strong="G5210" are|strong="G2249" strong|strong="G2478". You|strong="G5210" are|strong="G2249" honoured, but|strong="G1161" we|strong="G2249" are|strong="G2249" despised.
11 To|strong="G2532" this|strong="G3588" very|strong="G2532" hour|strong="G5610" we|strong="G2532" go|strong="G2532" hungry|strong="G3983", thirsty|strong="G1372", and|strong="G2532" naked|strong="G1130"; we|strong="G2532" are|strong="G3588" beaten; we|strong="G2532" are|strong="G3588" homeless;
12 we|strong="G2532" work|strong="G2038" hard|strong="G2872", toiling|strong="G2038" with|strong="G2532" our|strong="G2532" own|strong="G2398" hands|strong="G5495". We|strong="G2532" meet|strong="G3588" abuse with|strong="G2532" blessings, we|strong="G2532" meet|strong="G3588" persecution|strong="G1377" with|strong="G2532" endurance,
13 we|strong="G5613" meet|strong="G3588" slander|strong="G1426" with|strong="G3956" gentle appeals. We|strong="G5613" have|strong="G1096" been|strong="G1096" treated as|strong="G5613" the|strong="G3956" scum|strong="G4027" of|strong="G3956" the|strong="G3956" earth, the|strong="G3956" vilest of|strong="G3956" the|strong="G3956" vile, to|strong="G2193" this|strong="G3588" very|strong="G1096" hour.
14 It|strong="G3778" is|strong="G3778" with|strong="G3756" no|strong="G3756" wish to|strong="G3756" shame|strong="G1788" you|strong="G5210" that|strong="G3778" I|strong="G1473" am|strong="G1473" writing|strong="G1125" like|strong="G5613" this|strong="G3778"; but|strong="G3778" to|strong="G3756" warn|strong="G3560" you|strong="G5210" as|strong="G5613" my|strong="G1473" own dear children|strong="G5043".
15 Though|strong="G1437" you|strong="G5210" may|strong="G5547" have|strong="G2192" thousands of|strong="G1223" instructors in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" faith of|strong="G1223" Christ|strong="G5547", yet|strong="G1063" you|strong="G5210" have|strong="G2192" not|strong="G3756" many|strong="G4183" fathers|strong="G3962". It|strong="G1063" was|strong="G3588" I|strong="G1473" who|strong="G3588", through|strong="G1223" union with|strong="G1722" Christ|strong="G5547" Jesus|strong="G2424", became|strong="G1080" your|strong="G1223" father|strong="G3962" by|strong="G1223" means|strong="G1223" of|strong="G1223" the|strong="G1722" good|strong="G1223" news|strong="G2098".
16 Therefore|strong="G3767" I|strong="G1473" entreat|strong="G3870" you|strong="G5210" – Follow|strong="G3767" my|strong="G1473" example.
17 This|strong="G3778" is|strong="G1510" my|strong="G1722" reason|strong="G1223" for|strong="G1223" sending|strong="G3992" Timothy|strong="G5095" to|strong="G2532" you|strong="G5210". 18 Some|strong="G5100", I|strong="G1473" hear, are|strong="G5210" puffed up|strong="G5448" with|strong="G4314" pride, thinking that|strong="G3361" I|strong="G1473" am|strong="G1473" not|strong="G3361" coming|strong="G2064" to|strong="G4314" you|strong="G5210".
19 But|strong="G1161" come|strong="G2064" to|strong="G4314" you|strong="G5210" I|strong="G2532" will|strong="G2309", and|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3588" soon|strong="G5030", if|strong="G1437" it|strong="G2532" please|strong="G2309" the|strong="G2532" Lord|strong="G2962"; and|strong="G2532" then|strong="G2532" I|strong="G2532" will|strong="G2309" find|strong="G1097" out|strong="G2532", not|strong="G3756" what|strong="G3588" words|strong="G3056" these|strong="G3588" people|strong="G3588" use|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3588" are|strong="G3588" so|strong="G2532" puffed|strong="G3756" up|strong="G5448", but|strong="G1161" what|strong="G3588" power|strong="G1411" they|strong="G2532" possess;
20 for|strong="G1063" the|strong="G1722" kingdom of|strong="G3056" God|strong="G2316" is|strong="G3588" based, not|strong="G3756" on|strong="G1722" words|strong="G3056", but|strong="G1063" on|strong="G1722" power|strong="G1411".
21 What|strong="G5101" do|strong="G5101" you|strong="G5210" wish|strong="G2309"? Am|strong="G2309" I|strong="G2309" to|strong="G4314" come|strong="G2064" to|strong="G4314" you|strong="G5210" with|strong="G1722" a|strong="G1722" rod|strong="G4464", or|strong="G2228" in|strong="G1722" a|strong="G1722" loving and|strong="G5037" gentle spirit|strong="G4151"?
