2 Many|strong="G4183" people|strong="G3793" followed|strong="G0190" him|strong="G0846". Jesus|strong="G0846" healed|strong="G2323" the|strong="G2532" sick people|strong="G3793" there|strong="G1563".
3 Some|strong="G3588" Pharisees|strong="G5330" came|strong="G4334" to|strong="G3004" Jesus|strong="G0846". They|strong="G0846" tried|strong="G3985" to|strong="G3004" make him|strong="G0846" say|strong="G3004" something wrong. 4 Jesus|strong="G0846" answered|strong="G0611", “Surely you|strong="G3754" have|strong="G2532" read|strong="G0314" this|strong="G3588" in|strong="G2532" the|strong="G3588" Scriptures: When|strong="G2532" God|strong="G0846" made|strong="G4160" the|strong="G3588" world, ‘he|strong="G2532" made|strong="G4160" people|strong="G0846" male|strong="G0730" and|strong="G2532" female|strong="G2338".’
5 And|strong="G2532" God|strong="G0846" said|strong="G3004", ‘That|strong="G3004" is|strong="G1510" why a|strong="G1510" man|strong="G0444" will|strong="G1510" leave|strong="G2641" his|strong="G0846" father|strong="G3962" and|strong="G2532" mother|strong="G3384" and|strong="G2532" be|strong="G1510" joined|strong="G2853" to|strong="G1519" his|strong="G0846" wife|strong="G1135". 8 Jesus|strong="G0846" answered|strong="G3004", “Moses|strong="G3475" allowed|strong="G2010" you|strong="G5210" to|strong="G4314" divorce|strong="G0630" your|strong="G0630" wives|strong="G1135" because|strong="G3754" you|strong="G5210" refused|strong="G3756" to|strong="G4314" accept God’s|strong="G0846" teaching. 10 The|strong="G3588" followers said|strong="G3004" to|strong="G3004" Jesus|strong="G0846", “If|strong="G1487" that|strong="G3004" is|strong="G1510" the|strong="G3588" only|strong="G1487" reason|strong="G0156" a|strong="G1510" man|strong="G0444" can|strong="G3004" divorce his|strong="G0846" wife|strong="G1135", it|strong="G0846" is|strong="G1510" better not|strong="G3756" to|strong="G3004" marry|strong="G1060".”
11 He|strong="G0846" answered|strong="G3004", “This|strong="G3778" statement|strong="G3056" is|strong="G3778" true for|strong="G3956" some|strong="G3588", but|strong="G1161" not|strong="G3756" for|strong="G3956" everyone|strong="G3956"—only|strong="G3756" for|strong="G3956" those|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3739" have|strong="G3956" been|strong="G3756" given|strong="G1325" this|strong="G3778" gift.

And|strong="G2532" others|strong="G0444" have|strong="G1510" given up marriage because|strong="G1223" of|strong="G1537" God’s kingdom|strong="G0932". This|strong="G3779" is|strong="G1510" for|strong="G1063" anyone|strong="G0444" who|strong="G3588" is|strong="G1510" able|strong="G1410" to|strong="G1410" accept|strong="G5562" it|strong="G1223".”
13 Then|strong="G2532" the|strong="G3588" people|strong="G0846" brought|strong="G4374" their|strong="G0846" little children|strong="G3813" to|strong="G2443" Jesus|strong="G0846" so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" he|strong="G2532" could lay|strong="G2007" his|strong="G0846" hands|strong="G5495" on|strong="G5495" them|strong="G0846" to|strong="G2443" bless them|strong="G0846" and|strong="G2532" pray|strong="G4336" for|strong="G2443" them|strong="G0846". 17 Jesus|strong="G0846" answered|strong="G3004", “Why|strong="G5101" do|strong="G1510" you|strong="G1487" ask|strong="G2065" me|strong="G3004" about|strong="G4012" what|strong="G5101" is|strong="G1510" good|strong="G0018"? Only|strong="G1487" God|strong="G0846" is|strong="G1510" good|strong="G0018". But|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1487" you|strong="G1487" want|strong="G2309" to|strong="G1519" have|strong="G1510" eternal life|strong="G2222", obey|strong="G5083" the|strong="G3588" law’s commands|strong="G1785".”

20 The|strong="G3956" young|strong="G3495" man|strong="G3778" said|strong="G3004", “I|strong="G3778" have|strong="G3956" obeyed all|strong="G3956" these|strong="G3778" commands. What|strong="G5101" else do|strong="G3004" I|strong="G3778" need|strong="G5302"?”
21 Jesus|strong="G2424" answered|strong="G5346", “If|strong="G1487" you|strong="G4771" want|strong="G2309" to|strong="G2309" be|strong="G1510" perfect|strong="G5046", then|strong="G2532" go|strong="G5217" and|strong="G2532" sell|strong="G4453" all|strong="G3588" that|strong="G0846" you|strong="G4771" own|strong="G0846".
