2 This|strong="G3588" place|strong="G0040" was|strong="G3739" inside|strong="G1722" a|strong="G3739" tent|strong="G4633". The|strong="G3588" first|strong="G4413" area in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G3588" tent|strong="G4633" was|strong="G3739" called|strong="G3004" the|strong="G3588" Holy|strong="G0040" Place|strong="G0040". In|strong="G1722" the|strong="G3588" Holy|strong="G0040" Place|strong="G0040" were|strong="G3739" the|strong="G3588" lamp and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G3588" table|strong="G5132" with|strong="G1722" the|strong="G3588" special bread|strong="G0740" offered to|strong="G3004" God|strong="G3004".

5 Above|strong="G5231" the|strong="G3588" Box were|strong="G1510" the|strong="G3588" Cherub angels that|strong="G3739" showed God’s|strong="G0846" glory|strong="G1391". These|strong="G3739" Cherub angels were|strong="G1510" over|strong="G2596" the|strong="G3588" place|strong="G3313" of|strong="G1391" mercy|strong="G2435". But|strong="G1161" we|strong="G3739" cannot|strong="G3756" say|strong="G3004" everything about|strong="G4012" this|strong="G3588" now|strong="G1161".
6 Everything|strong="G3956" in|strong="G1519" the|strong="G3956" tent|strong="G4633" was|strong="G3588" made ready in|strong="G1519" the|strong="G3956" way|strong="G3779" I|strong="G3778" have|strong="G3956" explained. Then|strong="G1161" the|strong="G3956" priests|strong="G2409" went|strong="G1524" into|strong="G1519" the|strong="G3956" first|strong="G4413" room every|strong="G3956" day to|strong="G1519" do their|strong="G3956" worship|strong="G2999" duties.
7 But|strong="G1161" only|strong="G3441" the|strong="G3588" high|strong="G0749" priest|strong="G0749" could go into|strong="G1519" the|strong="G3588" second|strong="G1208" room, and|strong="G2532" he|strong="G2532" went in|strong="G1519" only|strong="G3441" once|strong="G0530" a|strong="G3739" year|strong="G1763". Also|strong="G2532", he|strong="G2532" could never|strong="G3756" enter that|strong="G3739" room without|strong="G5565" taking blood|strong="G0129" with|strong="G2532" him|strong="G3739". He|strong="G2532" offered|strong="G4374" that|strong="G3739" blood|strong="G0129" to|strong="G1519" God for|strong="G1519" himself|strong="G1438" and|strong="G2532" for|strong="G1519" the|strong="G3588" sins|strong="G0051" the|strong="G3588" people|strong="G2992" committed without|strong="G5565" knowing they|strong="G3739" were|strong="G2992" sinning.
8 The|strong="G3588" Holy|strong="G0040" Spirit|strong="G4151" uses those|strong="G3588" two separate rooms to|strong="G3778" teach us that|strong="G3778" the|strong="G3588" way|strong="G3598" into the|strong="G3588" Most|strong="G0040" Holy|strong="G0040" Place|strong="G0040" was|strong="G3588" not|strong="G3778" open while|strong="G3778" the|strong="G3588" first|strong="G4413" room was|strong="G3588" still|strong="G2089" there.
9 This|strong="G3588" is|strong="G3739" an|strong="G2532" example for|strong="G1519" us|strong="G1519" today. It|strong="G3739" shows that|strong="G3739" the|strong="G3588" gifts|strong="G1435" and|strong="G2532" sacrifices|strong="G2378" the|strong="G3588" priests offer|strong="G4374" to|strong="G1519" God are|strong="G3739" not|strong="G3361" able|strong="G1410" to|strong="G1519" make|strong="G5048" the|strong="G3588" consciences|strong="G4893" of|strong="G2596" the|strong="G3588" worshipers|strong="G3000" completely|strong="G5048" clear.
10 These gifts and|strong="G2532" sacrifices are|strong="G2532" only|strong="G3440" about|strong="G1909" food|strong="G1033" and|strong="G2532" drink|strong="G4188" and|strong="G2532" special washings|strong="G0909". They|strong="G2532" are|strong="G2532" only|strong="G3440" rules about|strong="G1909" the|strong="G2532" body|strong="G4561". God gave them|strong="G1909" for|strong="G1909" his|strong="G1909" people|strong="G4561" to|strong="G1909" follow until|strong="G3360" the|strong="G2532" time|strong="G2540" of|strong="G1909" his|strong="G1909" new way.
11 But|strong="G1161" Christ|strong="G5547" has|strong="G1096" already come|strong="G1096" to|strong="G3195" be|strong="G1510" the|strong="G3588" high|strong="G0749" priest|strong="G0749". He|strong="G2532" is|strong="G1510" the|strong="G3588" high|strong="G0749" priest|strong="G0749" of|strong="G1223" the|strong="G3588" good|strong="G0018" things|strong="G3778" we|strong="G3778" now|strong="G1161" have|strong="G1510". It|strong="G1223" was|strong="G1510" not|strong="G3756" made|strong="G1096" by|strong="G1223" anyone here|strong="G1510" on|strong="G1161" earth. It|strong="G1223" does|strong="G1510" not|strong="G3756" belong|strong="G1510" to|strong="G3195" this|strong="G3778" world.
12 Christ entered|strong="G1525" the|strong="G3588" Most|strong="G0040" Holy|strong="G0040" Place|strong="G0040" only|strong="G2532" one|strong="G3588" time|strong="G2178"—enough for|strong="G1519" all|strong="G3588" time|strong="G2178". He|strong="G2532" entered|strong="G1525" the|strong="G3588" Most|strong="G0040" Holy|strong="G0040" Place|strong="G0040" by|strong="G1223" using his|strong="G1223" own|strong="G2398" blood|strong="G0129", not|strong="G3761" the|strong="G3588" blood|strong="G0129" of|strong="G1223" goats|strong="G5131" or|strong="G3761" young bulls. 13 The|strong="G3588" blood|strong="G0129" of|strong="G0129" goats|strong="G5131" and|strong="G2532" bulls|strong="G5022" and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G3588" ashes|strong="G4700" of|strong="G0129" a|strong="G1487" cow were|strong="G3588" sprinkled|strong="G4472" on|strong="G0129" those|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3588" were|strong="G3588" no|strong="G1487" longer pure enough to|strong="G4314" enter the|strong="G3588" place of|strong="G0129" worship. The|strong="G3588" blood|strong="G0129" and|strong="G2532" ashes|strong="G4700" made|strong="G2840" them pure again|strong="G2532"—but|strong="G2532" only|strong="G1487" their|strong="G2532" bodies.
14 So|strong="G1519" surely the|strong="G3588" blood|strong="G0129" sacrifice of|strong="G4151" Christ|strong="G5547" can do|strong="G2041" much|strong="G4214" more|strong="G3123". Christ|strong="G5547" offered|strong="G4374" himself|strong="G1438" through|strong="G1223" the|strong="G3588" eternal|strong="G0166" Spirit|strong="G4151" as|strong="G1519" a|strong="G3739" perfect sacrifice to|strong="G1519" God|strong="G2316". His|strong="G1223" blood|strong="G0129" will|strong="G2316" make|strong="G2511" us|strong="G1519" completely|strong="G1519" clean|strong="G2511" from|strong="G0575" the|strong="G3588" evil we|strong="G3739" have|strong="G1473" done|strong="G2041". It|strong="G1223" will|strong="G2316" give us|strong="G1519" clear consciences|strong="G4893" so|strong="G1519" that|strong="G3739" we|strong="G3739" can worship|strong="G3000" the|strong="G3588" living|strong="G2198" God|strong="G2316".
15 So|strong="G2532" Christ brings|strong="G1510" a|strong="G1096" new|strong="G2537" agreement from|strong="G2532" God to|strong="G1519" his|strong="G1223" people|strong="G1510". He|strong="G2532" brings|strong="G1510" this|strong="G3778" agreement so|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3704" those|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3588" are|strong="G1510" chosen by|strong="G1223" God can have|strong="G1510" the|strong="G3588" blessings God promised|strong="G1860", blessings that|strong="G3704" last|strong="G3778" forever|strong="G1519". This|strong="G3778" can happen|strong="G1096" only|strong="G2532" because|strong="G1223" Christ died|strong="G2288" to|strong="G1519" free people|strong="G1510" from|strong="G2532" sins committed against|strong="G1909" the|strong="G3588" commands of|strong="G1223" the|strong="G3588" first|strong="G4413" agreement.
16 When someone dies and|strong="G2288" leaves a|strong="G5342" will, there|strong="G3699" must|strong="G0318" be proof that|strong="G1242" the|strong="G3588" one|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3588" wrote the|strong="G3588" will is|strong="G3588" dead.
17 A|strong="G1909" will|strong="G3498" means|strong="G2480" nothing while|strong="G3753" the|strong="G3588" one|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3588" wrote it|strong="G1909" is|strong="G3588" still living|strong="G2198". It|strong="G1909" can|strong="G2480" be used only after|strong="G3753" that|strong="G2198" person’s death|strong="G3498".
18 That is|strong="G3588" why blood|strong="G0129" was|strong="G3588" needed to|strong="G4413" begin the|strong="G3588" first|strong="G4413" agreement between God and|strong="G4413" his|strong="G3761" people|strong="G3588".
19 First, Moses|strong="G3475" told|strong="G2980" the|strong="G3956" people|strong="G2992" every|strong="G3956" command|strong="G1785" in|strong="G2596" the|strong="G3956" law|strong="G3551". Then|strong="G2532" he|strong="G2532" took|strong="G2983" the|strong="G3956" blood|strong="G0129" of|strong="G3551" young bulls and|strong="G2532" mixed it|strong="G0846" with|strong="G3326" water|strong="G5204". He|strong="G2532" used red wool|strong="G2053" and|strong="G2532" a|strong="G2983" branch of|strong="G3551" hyssop|strong="G5301" to|strong="G2596" sprinkle the|strong="G3956" blood|strong="G0129" and|strong="G2532" water|strong="G5204" on|strong="G2596" the|strong="G3956" book|strong="G0975" of|strong="G3551" the|strong="G3956" law|strong="G3551" and|strong="G2532" on|strong="G2596" all|strong="G3956" the|strong="G3956" people|strong="G2992".
20 Then|strong="G3004" he|strong="G3739" said|strong="G3004", “This|strong="G3778" is|strong="G2316" the|strong="G3588" blood|strong="G0129" that|strong="G3739" makes the|strong="G3588" agreement good—the|strong="G3588" agreement that|strong="G3739" God|strong="G2316" commanded|strong="G1781" you|strong="G5210" to|strong="G4314" follow.”
21 In|strong="G2532" the|strong="G3956" same|strong="G3668" way|strong="G3668", Moses sprinkled|strong="G4472" the|strong="G3956" blood|strong="G0129" on|strong="G1161" the|strong="G3956" Holy Tent|strong="G4633". He|strong="G2532" sprinkled|strong="G4472" the|strong="G3956" blood|strong="G0129" over everything|strong="G3956" used in|strong="G2532" worship.
22 The|strong="G3956" law|strong="G3551" says that|strong="G3956" almost|strong="G4975" everything|strong="G3956" must|strong="G3588" be|strong="G1096" made|strong="G1096" clean|strong="G2511" by|strong="G1722" blood|strong="G0129". Sins cannot|strong="G3756" be|strong="G1096" forgiven without|strong="G5565" a|strong="G1096" blood|strong="G0129" sacrifice.
23 These|strong="G3778" things|strong="G3778" are|strong="G3778" copies|strong="G5262" of|strong="G1722" the|strong="G3588" real things|strong="G3778" that|strong="G3778" are|strong="G3778" in|strong="G1722" heaven|strong="G3772". These|strong="G3778" copies|strong="G5262" had|strong="G3588" to|strong="G1722" be|strong="G3767" made clean|strong="G2511" by|strong="G1722" animal sacrifices|strong="G2378". But|strong="G1161" the|strong="G3588" real things|strong="G3778" in|strong="G1722" heaven|strong="G3772" must|strong="G0318" have|strong="G3588" much better|strong="G2909" sacrifices|strong="G2378".
24 Christ|strong="G5547" went|strong="G1525" into|strong="G1519" the|strong="G3588" Most|strong="G5228" Holy|strong="G0040" Place|strong="G0040". But|strong="G0235" it|strong="G0846" was|strong="G3588" not|strong="G3756" the|strong="G3588" man-made one|strong="G3588", which|strong="G3588" is|strong="G2316" only|strong="G3756" a|strong="G1525" copy|strong="G0499" of|strong="G2316" the|strong="G3588" real one|strong="G3588". He|strong="G1722" takes with|strong="G1722" him|strong="G1722" blood|strong="G0129" to|strong="G1519" offer|strong="G4374". 26 If Christ|strong="G0846" had|strong="G1163" offered himself|strong="G0846" many|strong="G4178" times|strong="G4178", he|strong="G0846" would|strong="G0846" have|strong="G1163" needed|strong="G1163" to|strong="G1519" suffer|strong="G3958" many|strong="G4178" times|strong="G4178" since|strong="G1893" the|strong="G3588" time|strong="G0165" the|strong="G3588" world|strong="G2889" was|strong="G3588" made|strong="G5319".
