17 So|strong="H5414" the|strong="H3605" people|strong="H1931" used|strong="H5414" their|strong="H3605" cattle|strong="H1241" and|strong="H0935" horses|strong="H5483" and|strong="H0935" all|strong="H3605" their|strong="H3605" other|strong="H3605" animals to|strong="H0413" buy food|strong="H3899". 21 And|strong="H4714" everywhere in|strong="H4714" Egypt|strong="H4714" all|strong="H5704" the|strong="H0853" people|strong="H5971" became Pharaoh’s slaves|strong="H7097".

23 Joseph|strong="H3130" said|strong="H0559" to|strong="H0413" the|strong="H0853" people|strong="H5971", “Now|strong="H3117" I|strong="H2005" have|strong="H3117" bought|strong="H7069" you|strong="H3117" and|strong="H3117" your|strong="H2232" land|strong="H0127" for|strong="H0413" Pharaoh|strong="H6547". So|strong="H0853" I|strong="H2005" will|strong="H6547" give you|strong="H3117" seed|strong="H2233", and|strong="H3117" you|strong="H3117" can|strong="H2233" plant|strong="H2232" your|strong="H2232" fields|strong="H0127".
24 At|strong="H1004" harvest|strong="H8393" time|strong="H1961", you|strong="H0834" must give|strong="H5414" one-fifth|strong="H2549" of|strong="H1004" your|strong="H5414" crops|strong="H8393" to|strong="H1961" Pharaoh|strong="H6547". You|strong="H0834" can|strong="H0834" keep four-fifths for|strong="H3027" yourselves|strong="H3027". You|strong="H0834" can|strong="H0834" use|strong="H0398" the|strong="H0834" seed|strong="H2233" you|strong="H0834" keep for|strong="H3027" food|strong="H0400" and|strong="H3027" planting|strong="H2233" the|strong="H0834" next|strong="H3027" year. 25 The|strong="H0559" people|strong="H5869" said|strong="H0559", “You|strong="H4672" have|strong="H1961" saved our|strong="H1961" lives|strong="H2421". We|strong="H4672" are|strong="H5869" happy to|strong="H0559" be|strong="H1961" slaves|strong="H5650" to|strong="H0559" Pharaoh|strong="H6547".”
26 So|strong="H1961" Joseph|strong="H3130" made|strong="H7760" a|strong="H1961" law at|strong="H5921" that|strong="H3117" time|strong="H3117" in|strong="H5921" the|strong="H0853" land|strong="H0127", and|strong="H3117" that|strong="H3117" law continues today|strong="H3117". 28 Jacob|strong="H3290" lived|strong="H2421" in|strong="H8141" Egypt|strong="H4714" 17 years|strong="H8141", so|strong="H1961" he|strong="H3117" was|strong="H1961" 147 years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H8141".
29 The|strong="H0559" time|strong="H3117" came|strong="H7126" when|strong="H3117" Israel|strong="H3478" knew he|strong="H0518" would|strong="H3478" soon|strong="H7126" die|strong="H4191", so|strong="H6213" he|strong="H0518" called|strong="H7121" his|strong="H7760" son|strong="H1121" Joseph|strong="H3130" to|strong="H0559" him|strong="H7121". Carry|strong="H5375" me|strong="H5973" out|strong="H6213" of|strong="H1697" Egypt|strong="H4714" and|strong="H4714" bury|strong="H6912" me|strong="H5973" in|strong="H6912" our|strong="H5973" family|strong="H0001" grave|strong="H6900".”
