2 I|strong="G3739" went|strong="G0305" there|strong="G1722" because|strong="G1722" God|strong="G0846" showed me|strong="G1380" that|strong="G3739" I|strong="G3739" should|strong="G2532" go|strong="G0305". 3 Titus|strong="G5103", who|strong="G3588" was|strong="G1510" with|strong="G4862" me|strong="G1473", is|strong="G1510" a|strong="G1510" Greek|strong="G1672". 5 but|strong="G3761" we|strong="G3739" did|strong="G3761" not|strong="G3761" agree with|strong="G4314" anything those|strong="G3588" false brothers wanted. We|strong="G3739" wanted the|strong="G3588" truth|strong="G0225" of|strong="G2098" the|strong="G3588" Good|strong="G2098" News|strong="G2098" to|strong="G4314" continue|strong="G1265" for|strong="G4314" you|strong="G5210".
6 Those|strong="G3588" men|strong="G0444" who|strong="G3588" were|strong="G1510" considered to|strong="G5100" be|strong="G1510" important did|strong="G1510" not|strong="G3756" change the|strong="G3588" Good|strong="G1380" News message I|strong="G1473" tell people|strong="G0444". 7 But|strong="G0235" these|strong="G3748" leaders|strong="G3754" saw|strong="G3708" that|strong="G3754" God had|strong="G3748" given me|strong="G3708" a|strong="G3708" special work, the|strong="G3588" same as|strong="G2531" Peter|strong="G4074". God gave Peter|strong="G4074" the|strong="G3588" work of|strong="G2098" telling the|strong="G3588" Good|strong="G2098" News|strong="G2098" to|strong="G3708" the|strong="G3588" Jews. But|strong="G0235" God gave me|strong="G3708" the|strong="G3588" work of|strong="G2098" telling the|strong="G3588" Good|strong="G2098" News|strong="G2098" to|strong="G3708" the|strong="G3588" non-Jewish people|strong="G3588".
8 God gave Peter|strong="G4074" the|strong="G3588" power to|strong="G1519" work|strong="G1754" as|strong="G1519" an|strong="G2532" apostle for|strong="G1063" the|strong="G3588" Jewish people|strong="G1484". God gave me|strong="G1473" the|strong="G3588" power to|strong="G1519" work|strong="G1754" as|strong="G1519" an|strong="G2532" apostle too|strong="G2532", but|strong="G2532" for|strong="G1063" those|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3588" are|strong="G3588" not|strong="G2532" Jews.
9 James|strong="G2385", Peter|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" John|strong="G2491" seemed|strong="G1380" to|strong="G1519" be|strong="G1510" the|strong="G3588" leaders. And|strong="G2532" they|strong="G0846" saw that|strong="G2443" God|strong="G0846" had|strong="G1510" given|strong="G1325" me|strong="G1325" this|strong="G3588" special gift|strong="G5485" of|strong="G5485" ministry, so|strong="G2443" they|strong="G0846" accepted Barnabas|strong="G0921" and|strong="G2532" me|strong="G1325". 13 So|strong="G2532" Peter|strong="G0846" was|strong="G3588" a|strong="G2532" hypocrite. The|strong="G3588" other|strong="G3062" Jewish|strong="G2453" believers joined|strong="G4942" with|strong="G2532" him|strong="G0846", so|strong="G2532" they|strong="G0846" were|strong="G2453" hypocrites too|strong="G2532". Even|strong="G2532" Barnabas|strong="G0921" was|strong="G3588" influenced by|strong="G2532" what|strong="G3588" these|strong="G3588" Jewish|strong="G2453" believers did.
14 They|strong="G2532" were|strong="G2453" not|strong="G3756" following the|strong="G3956" truth|strong="G0225" of|strong="G2098" the|strong="G3956" Good|strong="G2098" News|strong="G2098". When|strong="G3753" I|strong="G2532" saw|strong="G3708" this|strong="G3588", I|strong="G2532" spoke|strong="G3004" to|strong="G4314" Peter in|strong="G2532" front|strong="G1715" of|strong="G2098" everyone|strong="G3956". I|strong="G2532" said|strong="G3004", “Peter, you|strong="G4771" are|strong="G3956" a|strong="G3708" Jew|strong="G2453", but|strong="G0235" you|strong="G4771" don’t|strong="G3756" live|strong="G2198" like|strong="G1483" one|strong="G3588". 15 We|strong="G2249" are|strong="G2532" Jews|strong="G2453" by|strong="G1537" birth. We|strong="G2249" were|strong="G2453" not|strong="G3756" born “sinners|strong="G0268",” as|strong="G2532" we|strong="G2249" call those|strong="G2532" who|strong="G2453" are|strong="G2532" not|strong="G3756" Jews|strong="G2453".
16 But|strong="G1161" we|strong="G2249" know|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754" no|strong="G3756" one|strong="G0444" is|strong="G0444" made right|strong="G1519" with|strong="G1537" God by|strong="G1223" following the|strong="G3956" law|strong="G3551". It|strong="G1437" is|strong="G0444" trusting in|strong="G1519" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547" that|strong="G3754" makes a|strong="G1437" person|strong="G0444" right|strong="G1519" with|strong="G1537" God. So|strong="G2443" we|strong="G2249" have|strong="G2532" put our|strong="G2424" faith|strong="G4102" in|strong="G1519" Christ|strong="G5547" Jesus|strong="G2424", because|strong="G3754" we|strong="G2249" wanted to|strong="G1519" be|strong="G2532" made right|strong="G1519" with|strong="G1537" God. And|strong="G2532" we|strong="G2249" are|strong="G3956" right|strong="G1519" with|strong="G1537" him|strong="G2532" because|strong="G3754" we|strong="G2249" trusted in|strong="G1519" Christ|strong="G5547"—not|strong="G3756" because|strong="G3754" we|strong="G2249" followed the|strong="G3956" law|strong="G3551". 17 We|strong="G1487" Jews came|strong="G1096" to|strong="G2212" Christ|strong="G5547" to|strong="G2212" be|strong="G1096" made|strong="G1096" right with|strong="G1722" God|strong="G0846", so|strong="G2532" it|strong="G0846" is|strong="G5547" clear that|strong="G1096" we|strong="G1487" were|strong="G1096" sinners|strong="G0268" too|strong="G2532". Does|strong="G1096" this|strong="G0846" mean that|strong="G1096" Christ|strong="G5547" makes us|strong="G1722" sinners|strong="G0268"? Of|strong="G1722" course not|strong="G3361".
18 But|strong="G1487" I|strong="G3739" would be|strong="G3778" wrong to|strong="G3825" begin teaching again|strong="G3825" those|strong="G3778" things|strong="G3778" that|strong="G3739" I|strong="G3739" gave up|strong="G3618".
19 It|strong="G1223" was|strong="G2316" the|strong="G1223" law|strong="G3551" itself that|strong="G2443" caused me|strong="G1473" to|strong="G2443" end my|strong="G2316" life|strong="G2198" under|strong="G1223" the|strong="G1223" law|strong="G3551". I|strong="G1473" died|strong="G0599" to|strong="G2443" the|strong="G1223" law|strong="G3551" so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" I|strong="G1473" could live|strong="G2198" for|strong="G1063" God|strong="G2316". I|strong="G1473" have|strong="G1473" been|strong="G5547" nailed to|strong="G2443" the|strong="G1223" cross with|strong="G1223" Christ|strong="G5547".
20 So|strong="G2532" I|strong="G1473" am|strong="G1473" not|strong="G3765" the|strong="G3588" one|strong="G3739" living|strong="G2198" now|strong="G1161"—it|strong="G1161" is|strong="G2316" Christ|strong="G5547" living|strong="G2198" in|strong="G1722" me|strong="G1473". I|strong="G1473" still live|strong="G2198" in|strong="G1722" my|strong="G1722" body|strong="G4561", but|strong="G1161" I|strong="G1473" live|strong="G2198" by|strong="G1722" faith|strong="G4102" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G3588" Son|strong="G5207" of|strong="G5207" God|strong="G2316". He|strong="G2532" is|strong="G2316" the|strong="G3588" one|strong="G3739" who|strong="G3739" loved|strong="G0025" me|strong="G1473" and|strong="G2532" gave|strong="G3860" himself|strong="G1438" to|strong="G2532" save me|strong="G1473".
21 I|strong="G1487" am not|strong="G3756" the|strong="G3588" one|strong="G3588" destroying the|strong="G3588" meaning of|strong="G1223" God’s|strong="G2316" grace|strong="G5485". If|strong="G1487" following the|strong="G3588" law|strong="G3551" is|strong="G2316" how people|strong="G3588" are|strong="G3588" made right|strong="G1343" with|strong="G1223" God|strong="G2316", then|strong="G0686" Christ|strong="G5547" did not|strong="G3756" have|strong="G5547" to|strong="G5547" die|strong="G0599".
