8 God|strong="G2316" knows that|strong="G3956" I|strong="G1473" want very much to|strong="G1722" see you|strong="G5210". I|strong="G1473" love all|strong="G3956" of|strong="G2316" you|strong="G5210" with|strong="G1722" the|strong="G3956" love of|strong="G2316" Christ|strong="G5547" Jesus|strong="G2424".
9 This|strong="G3778" is|strong="G3778" my|strong="G3956" prayer|strong="G4336" for|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5210":
10 that|strong="G2443" you|strong="G5210" will|strong="G1510" see|strong="G1381" the|strong="G3588" difference|strong="G1308" between|strong="G2532" what|strong="G3588" is|strong="G1510" important and|strong="G2532" what|strong="G3588" is|strong="G1510" not|strong="G1510" and|strong="G2532" choose what|strong="G3588" is|strong="G1510" important; that|strong="G2443" you|strong="G5210" will|strong="G1510" be|strong="G1510" pure|strong="G1506" and|strong="G2532" blameless|strong="G0677" for|strong="G1519" the|strong="G3588" coming of|strong="G2250" Christ|strong="G5547";
11 that|strong="G2316" your|strong="G2532" life will|strong="G2316" be|strong="G2532" full|strong="G4137" of|strong="G1223" the|strong="G3588" many good works that|strong="G2316" are|strong="G3588" produced by|strong="G1223" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547" to|strong="G1519" bring|strong="G1519" glory|strong="G1391" and|strong="G2532" praise|strong="G1868" to|strong="G1519" God|strong="G2316".
12 Brothers|strong="G0080" and|strong="G1161" sisters, I|strong="G1473" want|strong="G1014" you|strong="G5210" to|strong="G1519" know|strong="G1097" that|strong="G3754" all|strong="G3588" that|strong="G3754" has|strong="G3748" happened|strong="G3588" to|strong="G1519" me|strong="G1473" has|strong="G3748" helped to|strong="G1519" spread|strong="G1519" the|strong="G3588" Good|strong="G2098" News|strong="G2098".
13 All|strong="G3956" the|strong="G3956" Roman guards and|strong="G2532" all|strong="G3956" the|strong="G3956" others|strong="G3062" here|strong="G1722" know that|strong="G5620" I|strong="G1473" am|strong="G1096" in|strong="G1722" prison for|strong="G1722" serving Christ|strong="G5547".
14 My|strong="G1722" being in|strong="G1722" prison has|strong="G2316" caused most|strong="G4183" of|strong="G3056" the|strong="G3588" believers to|strong="G2532" put|strong="G3982" their|strong="G2532" trust|strong="G3982" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G3588" Lord|strong="G2962" and|strong="G2532" to|strong="G2532" show more|strong="G4183" courage|strong="G5111" in|strong="G1722" telling|strong="G2980" people|strong="G4183" God’s|strong="G2316" message|strong="G3056".
15 Some|strong="G5100" people|strong="G5100" are|strong="G3588" telling the|strong="G3588" message about|strong="G3588" Christ|strong="G5547" because|strong="G1223" they|strong="G2532" are|strong="G3588" jealous and|strong="G2532" bitter. Others|strong="G3588" do|strong="G2532" it|strong="G1223" because|strong="G1223" they|strong="G2532" want to|strong="G2532" help.
16 They|strong="G3754" are|strong="G3588" doing it|strong="G1519" out|strong="G1537" of|strong="G1537" love|strong="G0026". They|strong="G3754" know|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754" God gave me the|strong="G3588" work of|strong="G1537" defending the|strong="G3588" Good|strong="G2098" News|strong="G2098".
17 But|strong="G1161" those|strong="G3588" others|strong="G3588" tell about|strong="G3588" Christ|strong="G5547" because|strong="G1537" of|strong="G1537" their|strong="G2347" selfish|strong="G2052" ambition|strong="G2052". Their|strong="G2347" reason|strong="G1537" for|strong="G1537" doing it|strong="G1161" is|strong="G3588" wrong. They|strong="G1161" only|strong="G3756" do|strong="G3756" it|strong="G1161" because|strong="G1537" they|strong="G1161" think it|strong="G1161" will|strong="G1473" make|strong="G3756" trouble|strong="G2347" for|strong="G1537" me|strong="G1473" in|strong="G1537" prison.
18 But|strong="G0235" that|strong="G3754" doesn’t matter. What|strong="G5101" is|strong="G5101" important is|strong="G5101" that|strong="G3754" they|strong="G2532" are|strong="G3956" telling people|strong="G3956" about|strong="G1722" Christ|strong="G5547", whether|strong="G1535" they|strong="G2532" are|strong="G3956" sincere or|strong="G2532" not|strong="G0235". So|strong="G2532" I|strong="G2532" am|strong="G5463" glad|strong="G5463" they|strong="G2532" are|strong="G3956" doing it|strong="G3778".
19 because|strong="G3754" I|strong="G1473" know|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754" your|strong="G2532" prayers|strong="G1162" and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G3588" help the|strong="G3588" Spirit|strong="G4151" of|strong="G4151" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547" gives|strong="G1223" me|strong="G1473" will|strong="G3778" cause this|strong="G3778" trouble to|strong="G1519" result|strong="G1519" in|strong="G1519" my|strong="G3754" freedom.
20 I|strong="G1473" am|strong="G1473" full|strong="G3956" of|strong="G1223" hope|strong="G1680" and|strong="G2532" feel sure I|strong="G1473" will|strong="G3956" not|strong="G3762" have|strong="G2532" any|strong="G3956" reason|strong="G1223" to|strong="G2596" be|strong="G2532" ashamed|strong="G0153". I|strong="G1473" am|strong="G1473" certain|strong="G2596" I|strong="G1473" will|strong="G3956" continue|strong="G2532" to|strong="G2596" have|strong="G2532" the|strong="G3956" same|strong="G2532" boldness|strong="G3954" to|strong="G2596" speak freely that|strong="G3754" I|strong="G1473" always|strong="G3842" have|strong="G2532". I|strong="G1473" will|strong="G3956" let God use my|strong="G3956" life|strong="G2222" to|strong="G2596" bring more|strong="G2596" honor to|strong="G2596" Christ|strong="G5547". It|strong="G1223" doesn’t matter whether|strong="G1535" I|strong="G1473" live or|strong="G2532" die|strong="G2288".
21 To|strong="G2532" me|strong="G1473", the|strong="G3588" only|strong="G2532" important thing about|strong="G3588" living|strong="G2198" is|strong="G3588" Christ|strong="G5547". And|strong="G2532" even|strong="G2532" death|strong="G0599" would|strong="G5547" be|strong="G2532" for|strong="G1063" my|strong="G2532" benefit.
22 If|strong="G1487" I|strong="G1473" continue|strong="G2532" living|strong="G2198" here|strong="G1722" on|strong="G1722" earth|strong="G4561", I|strong="G1473" will|strong="G5101" be|strong="G2532" able to|strong="G2532" work|strong="G2041" for|strong="G1722" the|strong="G3588" Lord. But|strong="G1161" what|strong="G5101" would|strong="G2590" I|strong="G1473" choose|strong="G0138"—to|strong="G2532" live|strong="G2198" or|strong="G2532" to|strong="G2532" die? I|strong="G1473" don’t|strong="G3756" know|strong="G1107".
23 It|strong="G1161" would|strong="G5547" be|strong="G1510" a|strong="G2192" hard|strong="G4183" choice. Sometimes I|strong="G2532" want to|strong="G1519" leave this|strong="G3588" life and|strong="G2532" be|strong="G1510" with|strong="G4862" Christ|strong="G5547". That|strong="G1161" would|strong="G5547" be|strong="G1510" much|strong="G4183" better|strong="G2909" for|strong="G1063" me|strong="G2192";
24 however|strong="G1161", you|strong="G5210" people|strong="G4561" need me|strong="G1223" here|strong="G1722" alive.
25 I|strong="G2532" am|strong="G2532" sure|strong="G3982" of|strong="G3956" this|strong="G3778", so|strong="G2532" I|strong="G2532" know|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754" I|strong="G2532" will|strong="G3778" stay|strong="G3306" here|strong="G1519" and|strong="G2532" be|strong="G2532" with|strong="G2532" you|strong="G5210" to|strong="G1519" help you|strong="G5210" grow and|strong="G2532" have|strong="G2532" joy|strong="G5479" in|strong="G1519" your|strong="G2532" faith|strong="G4102".
26 When|strong="G1722" I|strong="G1473" am|strong="G1473" there|strong="G1722" with|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5210" again|strong="G3825", you|strong="G5210" will|strong="G1473" be|strong="G5547" bursting with|strong="G1722" pride|strong="G2745" over|strong="G4052" what|strong="G3588" Christ|strong="G5547" Jesus|strong="G2424" did to|strong="G4314" help me|strong="G1473".
27 Just|strong="G3440" be|strong="G2532" sure you|strong="G5210" live as|strong="G1722" God’s people|strong="G5590" in|strong="G1722" a|strong="G3708" way|strong="G1722" that|strong="G3754" honors the|strong="G3588" Good|strong="G2098" News|strong="G2098" of|strong="G4151" Christ|strong="G5547". Then|strong="G2532" if|strong="G1535" I|strong="G2532" come|strong="G2064" and|strong="G2532" visit|strong="G2064" you|strong="G5210" or|strong="G2532" if|strong="G1535" I|strong="G2532" am|strong="G0548" away from|strong="G2064" you|strong="G5210", I|strong="G2532" will|strong="G3748" hear|strong="G0191" good|strong="G2098" things|strong="G3588" about|strong="G4012" you|strong="G5210". I|strong="G2532" will|strong="G3748" know that|strong="G3754" you|strong="G5210" stand|strong="G4739" together|strong="G4866" with|strong="G1722" the|strong="G3588" same|strong="G2532" purpose and|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3754" you|strong="G5210" work together|strong="G4866" like a|strong="G3708" team to|strong="G2443" help|strong="G4012" others|strong="G3588" believe the|strong="G3588" Good|strong="G2098" News|strong="G2098".
28 And|strong="G2532" you|strong="G5210" will|strong="G2316" not|strong="G3361" be|strong="G1510" afraid of|strong="G0575" those|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3588" are|strong="G1510" against|strong="G0575" you|strong="G5210". All|strong="G3588" of|strong="G0575" this|strong="G3778" is|strong="G1510" proof|strong="G1732" from|strong="G0575" God|strong="G2316" that|strong="G3778" you|strong="G5210" are|strong="G1510" being|strong="G1510" saved and|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3778" your|strong="G2532" enemies will|strong="G2316" be|strong="G1510" lost.
29 God|strong="G0846" has|strong="G5547" blessed you|strong="G5210" in|strong="G1519" ways that|strong="G3754" serve Christ|strong="G5547". He|strong="G2532" allowed you|strong="G5210" to|strong="G1519" believe|strong="G4100" in|strong="G1519" Christ|strong="G5547". But|strong="G0235" that|strong="G3754" is|strong="G3588" not|strong="G3756" all|strong="G3588". He|strong="G2532" has|strong="G5547" also|strong="G2532" given|strong="G5483" you|strong="G5210" the|strong="G3588" honor of|strong="G5228" suffering|strong="G3958" for|strong="G1519" Christ|strong="G5547". Both|strong="G2532" of|strong="G5228" these|strong="G3748" bring|strong="G1519" glory to|strong="G1519" Christ|strong="G5547".
30 You|strong="G1722" saw|strong="G3708" the|strong="G3588" difficulties I|strong="G1473" had|strong="G2192" to|strong="G2532" face, and|strong="G2532" you|strong="G1722" hear|strong="G0191" that|strong="G0191" I|strong="G1473" am|strong="G2192" still having|strong="G2192" troubles. Now|strong="G3568" you|strong="G1722" must|strong="G3588" face them|strong="G0846" too|strong="G2532".
