Then|strong="H3318" they|strong="H0376" smashed|strong="H7665" the|strong="H3605" stone idols that|strong="H3605" were|strong="H3478" in|strong="H3478" the|strong="H3605" towns|strong="H5892". These|strong="H2063" stone idols were|strong="H3478" used|strong="H3615" to|strong="H5704" worship|strong="H3478" false gods. They|strong="H0376" did|strong="H0376" the|strong="H3605" same|strong="H0853" things|strong="H3605" in|strong="H3478" the|strong="H3605" area of|strong="H1121" Ephraim|strong="H0669" and|strong="H1121" Manasseh|strong="H4519". They|strong="H0376" did|strong="H0376" these|strong="H2063" things|strong="H3605" until|strong="H5704" they|strong="H0376" destroyed|strong="H3615" all|strong="H3605" the|strong="H3605" things|strong="H3605" used|strong="H3615" for|strong="H4196" worshiping the|strong="H3605" false gods. Then|strong="H3318" all|strong="H3605" the|strong="H3605" Israelites|strong="H3478" went|strong="H3318" back|strong="H7725" home|strong="H7725" to|strong="H5704" their|strong="H3605" own|strong="H0376" towns|strong="H5892".
2 The|strong="H0853" priests|strong="H3548" and|strong="H3068" Levites|strong="H3881" had|strong="H3068" been|strong="H3068" divided into|strong="H5921" groups, and|strong="H3068" each|strong="H0376" group had|strong="H3068" its|strong="H0853" own|strong="H0376" special job|strong="H5656" to|strong="H5921" do. So|strong="H5975" King|strong="H5921" Hezekiah|strong="H2396" told these groups to|strong="H5921" begin doing their|strong="H3068" jobs again. So|strong="H5975" the|strong="H0853" priests|strong="H3548" and|strong="H3068" Levites|strong="H3881" again had|strong="H3068" the|strong="H0853" job|strong="H5656" of|strong="H0376" offering|strong="H8002" the|strong="H0853" burnt|strong="H5930" offerings|strong="H8002" and|strong="H3068" the|strong="H0853" fellowship offerings|strong="H8002". And|strong="H3068" they|strong="H5921" had|strong="H3068" the|strong="H0853" job|strong="H5656" of|strong="H0376" serving|strong="H8334" in|strong="H5921" the|strong="H0853" Temple and|strong="H3068" singing and|strong="H3068" praising|strong="H1984" God|strong="H3068" by|strong="H5921" the|strong="H0853" doors to|strong="H5921" the|strong="H0853" LORD’S|strong="H3068" house.
3 Hezekiah gave some|strong="H4480" of|strong="H4428" his|strong="H3068" own animals to|strong="H3068" be|strong="H3068" offered as|strong="H3068" the|strong="H4480" burnt|strong="H5930" offerings|strong="H4480". These animals were|strong="H4428" used for|strong="H3068" the|strong="H4480" daily burnt|strong="H5930" offerings|strong="H4480" that|strong="H4480" were|strong="H4428" given each morning|strong="H1242" and|strong="H3068" each evening|strong="H6153". They|strong="H3068" were|strong="H4428" offered on|strong="H3068" the|strong="H4480" Sabbath|strong="H7676" days, during New|strong="H2320" Moon|strong="H2320" celebrations, and|strong="H3068" on|strong="H3068" the|strong="H4480" other special meeting|strong="H4150" days, as|strong="H3068" law|strong="H8451" of|strong="H4428" the|strong="H4480" LORD|strong="H3068" commands.
4 The|strong="H0559" people|strong="H5971" were|strong="H3881" supposed to|strong="H0559" give|strong="H5414" a|strong="H5414" part of|strong="H3068" their|strong="H3068" crops and|strong="H3068" things to|strong="H0559" the|strong="H0559" priests|strong="H3548" and|strong="H3068" Levites|strong="H3881". So|strong="H4616" Hezekiah|strong="H2388" commanded|strong="H0559" the|strong="H0559" people|strong="H5971" living|strong="H3427" in|strong="H3427" Jerusalem|strong="H3389" to|strong="H0559" give|strong="H5414" them|strong="H5414" their|strong="H3068" share|strong="H5414". In|strong="H3427" that|strong="H4616" way the|strong="H0559" priests|strong="H3548" and|strong="H3068" Levites|strong="H3881" could|strong="H5971" spend|strong="H5414" all of|strong="H3068" their|strong="H3068" time doing what the|strong="H0559" law|strong="H8451" of|strong="H3068" the|strong="H0559" LORD|strong="H3068" told|strong="H0559" them|strong="H5414" to|strong="H0559" do.
5 People|strong="H1121" all|strong="H3605" around the|strong="H3605" country|strong="H7704" heard about|strong="H1697" this|strong="H1697" command|strong="H1697". So|strong="H0935" the|strong="H3605" Israelites|strong="H3478" gave|strong="H0935" the|strong="H3605" first|strong="H7225" part|strong="H4643" of|strong="H1121" their|strong="H3605" harvest|strong="H8393" of|strong="H1121" grain|strong="H1715", grapes|strong="H8492", oil|strong="H3323", honey|strong="H1706", and|strong="H1121" all|strong="H3605" the|strong="H3605" things|strong="H1697" they|strong="H0935" grew|strong="H7235" in|strong="H0935" their|strong="H3605" fields|strong="H7704". They|strong="H0935" brought|strong="H0935" one-tenth of|strong="H1121" all|strong="H3605" these|strong="H3605" many|strong="H7230" things|strong="H1697".
6 The|strong="H0935" men|strong="H1121" of|strong="H1121" Israel|strong="H3478" and|strong="H1121" Judah|strong="H3063" living|strong="H3427" in|strong="H3427" the|strong="H0935" towns|strong="H5892" of|strong="H1121" Judah|strong="H3063" also|strong="H1571" brought|strong="H0935" one-tenth of|strong="H1121" their|strong="H3068" cattle|strong="H1241" and|strong="H1121" sheep|strong="H6629". They|strong="H1992" also|strong="H1571" brought|strong="H0935" one-tenth of|strong="H1121" the|strong="H0935" things|strong="H6944" that|strong="H3068" were|strong="H3478" put|strong="H5414" in|strong="H3427" a|strong="H5414" special place|strong="H5414" that|strong="H3068" was|strong="H3068" only|strong="H1571" for|strong="H3068" the|strong="H0935" LORD|strong="H3068" their|strong="H3068" God|strong="H0430". They|strong="H1992" brought|strong="H0935" all|strong="H1571" these|strong="H1992" things|strong="H6944" and|strong="H1121" put|strong="H5414" them|strong="H5414" in|strong="H3427" piles.
7 The|strong="H3245" people|strong="H2490" began|strong="H2490" to|strong="H2320" bring these things in|strong="H2320" the|strong="H3245" third|strong="H7992" month|strong="H2320" and|strong="H2320" they|strong="H2320" finished|strong="H3615" bringing the|strong="H3245" collection in|strong="H2320" the|strong="H3245" seventh|strong="H7637" month|strong="H2320".
8 When|strong="H7200" Hezekiah|strong="H2396" and|strong="H0935" the|strong="H0853" leaders|strong="H8269" came|strong="H0935", they|strong="H3068" saw|strong="H7200" the|strong="H0853" piles of|strong="H3068" things|strong="H3478" that|strong="H7200" were|strong="H3478" collected. They|strong="H3068" praised|strong="H1288" the|strong="H0853" LORD|strong="H3068" and|strong="H0935" his|strong="H3068" people|strong="H5971", the|strong="H0853" Israelites|strong="H3478".
9 Then|strong="H3548" Hezekiah|strong="H2396" asked|strong="H1875" the|strong="H5921" priests|strong="H3548" and|strong="H3548" the|strong="H5921" Levites|strong="H3881" about|strong="H5921" the|strong="H5921" piles of|strong="H5921" things.
10 Azariah|strong="H5838" the|strong="H0853" high priest|strong="H3548" from|strong="H0935" Zadok’s|strong="H6659" family|strong="H1004" said|strong="H0559" to|strong="H0413" Hezekiah, “From|strong="H0935" the|strong="H0853" time|strong="H5704" that|strong="H3588" the|strong="H0853" people|strong="H5971" started|strong="H2490" bringing|strong="H0935" the|strong="H0853" offerings|strong="H8641" into|strong="H0413" the|strong="H0853" LORD’S|strong="H3068" house|strong="H1004", we|strong="H3588" have|strong="H7646" had|strong="H3068" plenty|strong="H7646" to|strong="H0413" eat|strong="H0398". We|strong="H3588" have|strong="H7646" eaten|strong="H0398" until|strong="H5704" we|strong="H3588" are|strong="H3068" full|strong="H7646" and|strong="H0935" there|strong="H2088" is|strong="H3068" still|strong="H5704" plenty|strong="H7646" left|strong="H3498" over|strong="H0413"! The|strong="H0853" LORD|strong="H3068" has|strong="H3068" really|strong="H2088" blessed|strong="H1288" his|strong="H3068" people|strong="H5971". That|strong="H3588" is|strong="H3068" why|strong="H3588" we|strong="H3588" have|strong="H7646" so|strong="H0935" much|strong="H7230" left|strong="H3498" over|strong="H0413".”
11 Then|strong="H0559" Hezekiah|strong="H2396" commanded|strong="H0559" the|strong="H0559" priests to|strong="H0559" make|strong="H3559" storerooms ready|strong="H3559" in|strong="H3068" the|strong="H0559" LORD’S|strong="H3068" Temple|strong="H1004". So|strong="H3559" this|strong="H3068" was|strong="H3068" done|strong="H3559".
12 Then|strong="H0853" the|strong="H0853" priests brought|strong="H0935" the|strong="H0853" offerings|strong="H8641", tithes|strong="H4643", and|strong="H0935" other|strong="H0251" things|strong="H6944" that|strong="H0935" were|strong="H3881" to|strong="H0935" be|strong="H0251" given only to|strong="H0935" God. All these things|strong="H6944" collected were|strong="H3881" put|strong="H0935" in|strong="H5921" the|strong="H0853" storerooms in|strong="H5921" the|strong="H0853" Temple. Conaniah|strong="H3562" the|strong="H0853" Levite|strong="H3881" was|strong="H0935" in|strong="H5921" charge|strong="H5921" of|strong="H5921" everything that|strong="H0935" was|strong="H0935" collected. Shimei|strong="H8096" was|strong="H0935" second|strong="H4932" in|strong="H5921" charge|strong="H5921" of|strong="H5921" these things|strong="H6944". Shimei|strong="H8096" was|strong="H0935" Conaniah’s brother|strong="H0251".
13 Conaniah|strong="H3562" and|strong="H0430" his|strong="H3027" brother|strong="H0251" Shimei|strong="H8096" were|strong="H3027" supervisors of|strong="H4428" these men: Jehiel|strong="H3171", Azaziah|strong="H5812", Nahath|strong="H5184", Asahel|strong="H6214", Jerimoth|strong="H3406", Jozabad|strong="H3107", Eliel|strong="H0447", Ismakiah|strong="H3253", Mahath|strong="H4287", and|strong="H0430" Benaiah|strong="H1141". King|strong="H4428" Hezekiah|strong="H2396" and|strong="H0430" Azariah|strong="H5838" the|strong="H3027" official in|strong="H0430" charge|strong="H3027" of|strong="H4428" God’s|strong="H0430" Temple|strong="H1004" chose these men.
14 Kore|strong="H6981" was|strong="H3068" in|strong="H5921" charge|strong="H5921" of|strong="H1121" the|strong="H5921" offerings|strong="H5071" that|strong="H3068" the|strong="H5921" people|strong="H1121" freely|strong="H5071" gave|strong="H5414" to|strong="H5921" God|strong="H0430". He|strong="H0430" was|strong="H3068" responsible for|strong="H5921" giving|strong="H5414" out|strong="H5921" the|strong="H5921" collections that|strong="H3068" were|strong="H1121" given|strong="H5414" to|strong="H5921" the|strong="H5921" LORD|strong="H3068". And|strong="H1121" he|strong="H0430" was|strong="H3068" responsible for|strong="H5921" giving|strong="H5414" out|strong="H5921" the|strong="H5921" gifts|strong="H6944" that|strong="H3068" had|strong="H3068" been|strong="H3068" made|strong="H5414" holy|strong="H6944". Kore|strong="H6981" was|strong="H3068" the|strong="H5921" gatekeeper|strong="H7778" at|strong="H5921" the|strong="H5921" East|strong="H4217" Gate. His|strong="H5414" father’s name was|strong="H3068" Imnah|strong="H3232" the|strong="H5921" Levite|strong="H3881".
15 Eden|strong="H5731", Miniamin|strong="H4509", Jeshua|strong="H3442", Shemaiah|strong="H8098", Amariah|strong="H0568", and|strong="H3027" Shecaniah|strong="H7935" helped|strong="H3027" Kore. These men|strong="H1419" served faithfully|strong="H0530" in|strong="H5921" the|strong="H5921" towns|strong="H5892" where|strong="H5921" the|strong="H5921" priests|strong="H3548" were|strong="H3027" living. They|strong="H5921" gave|strong="H5414" the|strong="H5921" collection of|strong="H3027" things|strong="H1419" to|strong="H5921" their|strong="H5414" relatives|strong="H0251" in|strong="H5921" each group of|strong="H3027" priests|strong="H3548". They|strong="H5921" gave|strong="H5414" the|strong="H5921" same things|strong="H1419" to|strong="H5921" the|strong="H5921" more|strong="H1419" important|strong="H1419" people and|strong="H3027" to|strong="H5921" the|strong="H5921" less|strong="H6996" important|strong="H1419".
16 These|strong="H3605" men|strong="H1121" also|strong="H3068" gave|strong="H0935" the|strong="H3605" collection of|strong="H1121" things|strong="H1697" to|strong="H0935" the|strong="H3605" males|strong="H2145" three|strong="H7969" years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121" and|strong="H1121" older|strong="H4605" who|strong="H3605" had|strong="H3068" their|strong="H3605" names in|strong="H8141" the|strong="H3605" Levite family|strong="H1004" histories. All|strong="H3605" these|strong="H3605" males|strong="H2145" were|strong="H1121" to|strong="H0935" enter|strong="H0935" the|strong="H3605" LORD’S|strong="H3068" Temple|strong="H1004" for|strong="H1004" daily|strong="H3117" service|strong="H5656" to|strong="H0935" do|strong="H3605" the|strong="H3605" things|strong="H1697" they|strong="H3117" were|strong="H1121" responsible to|strong="H0935" do|strong="H3605". This was|strong="H1004" done by|strong="H8141" families|strong="H1004", in|strong="H8141" the|strong="H0853" way they|strong="H8141" were|strong="H1121" listed|strong="H1004" in|strong="H8141" the|strong="H0853" family|strong="H1004" histories. The|strong="H0853" Levites|strong="H3881" who|strong="H3548" were|strong="H1121" 20 years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121" and|strong="H1121" older|strong="H4605" were|strong="H1121" given their|strong="H3548" part of|strong="H1121" the|strong="H0853" collection, according to|strong="H0001" their|strong="H3548" groups|strong="H1121" and|strong="H1121" responsibilities|strong="H4931".
18 The|strong="H3605" Levites’ babies|strong="H0802", wives|strong="H0802", sons|strong="H1121", and|strong="H1121" daughters|strong="H1323" also|strong="H3588" got part of|strong="H1121" the|strong="H3605" collection. This|strong="H3588" was|strong="H0802" done|strong="H3605" for|strong="H3588" all|strong="H3605" the|strong="H3605" Levites who|strong="H3605" were|strong="H1121" listed in|strong="H0802" the|strong="H3605" family histories. This|strong="H3588" was|strong="H0802" because|strong="H3588" the|strong="H3605" Levites were|strong="H1121" faithful|strong="H0530" to|strong="H1121" always keep|strong="H6942" themselves|strong="H6942" holy|strong="H6944" and|strong="H1121" ready for|strong="H3588" service.
19 Some|strong="H0376" of|strong="H1121" Aaron’s|strong="H0175" descendants|strong="H1121", the|strong="H3605" priests|strong="H3548", lived in|strong="H0376" the|strong="H3605" towns|strong="H5892" or|strong="H7704" on|strong="H3605" farms near the|strong="H3605" towns|strong="H5892" where|strong="H0834" the|strong="H3605" Levites|strong="H3881" were|strong="H0834" living|strong="H0376". Men|strong="H0376" were|strong="H0834" chosen by|strong="H3187" name|strong="H8034" in|strong="H0376" each|strong="H0376" of|strong="H1121" these|strong="H3605" towns|strong="H5892" to|strong="H5414" give|strong="H5414" part of|strong="H1121" the|strong="H3605" collection to|strong="H5414" these|strong="H3605" descendants|strong="H1121" of|strong="H1121" Aaron|strong="H0175". All|strong="H3605" the|strong="H3605" males|strong="H2145" and|strong="H1121" those|strong="H3605" named|strong="H8034" in|strong="H0376" the|strong="H3605" family histories of|strong="H1121" the|strong="H3605" Levites|strong="H3881" got part of|strong="H1121" the|strong="H3605" collection.
20 So|strong="H6213" King Hezekiah|strong="H2396" did|strong="H6213" those|strong="H3605" good|strong="H2896" things|strong="H3605" in|strong="H0430" all|strong="H3605" Judah|strong="H3063". He|strong="H6213" did|strong="H6213" what|strong="H3477" was|strong="H3068" good|strong="H2896" and|strong="H3068" right|strong="H3477" and|strong="H3068" faithful|strong="H0571" before|strong="H6440" the|strong="H3605" LORD|strong="H3068" his|strong="H3605" God|strong="H0430".
21 He|strong="H0834" had|strong="H0834" success|strong="H6743" in|strong="H0430" every|strong="H3605" work|strong="H4639" he|strong="H0834" began|strong="H2490"—the|strong="H3605" service|strong="H5656" of|strong="H1004" God’s|strong="H0430" Temple|strong="H1004" and|strong="H0430" in|strong="H0430" obeying the|strong="H3605" law|strong="H8451" and|strong="H0430" commands|strong="H4687", and|strong="H0430" in|strong="H0430" following his|strong="H3605" God|strong="H0430". Hezekiah did|strong="H6213" all|strong="H3605" these|strong="H3605" things|strong="H3605" with|strong="H1004" all|strong="H3605" his|strong="H3605" heart|strong="H3824".
